OCEANCO'S 105M EXPLORER SUPERYACHT "ESQUEL"

[Music] think of the world's most impressive Giga yachts and just a handful of shipyards to come to mind but one of the most impressive yards for its amazing variety of designs of yachts has to be ocean code now just last week they announced one of their most exciting projects ever so I wanted to report on it back to you nobody can deny the remarkable variety of yachts that Ocean Co has produced over recent years in 2007 they unveiled the groundbreaking Alfa narrow designed by Nuvolari lemmas and unique at the time for its long after deck with features swimming pool in 2016 they surprised everybody with the 106 metre sailing yacht called Black Pearl also designed by Nuvolari Leonard and capable of 30 knots under sail more recently in 2017 they amazed everybody with the 110 meter long Eagle nahban of designed Jubilee that was so distinctive not just due to her exterior lines but also for her unusual color scheme and then at the Monaco Yacht Show last year I had the pleasure of inspecting the remarkable 90 meter da this time a lowest the bastard design now that kind of heritage and a proven ability to build such remarkable yachts to a very high standard you can imagine how excited the yachting community was when they heard about this SQL is a 105 meter extreme Explorer yacht and it's the latest project by ocean Cove with exterior design by Tim L Bosco and naval architecture by the famous lateral naval architects the naval architecture of this shot will in fact be of particular importance since she's designed to go absolutely anywhere she has a diesel-electric propulsion package and remarkably a top speed of 16 and a half knots her cruising range that 13 knots shall be 7,000 nautical miles there's nothing random about the name SQL either is actually the name of a town in Patagonia where a particularly beautiful meteorite was discovered by a man digging a well the meteorites was purchased from the man and taken to the United States and became famous for its unusual mixture of metals and crystals ocean Co have embraced the heritage of the name in their marketing of the art in a way that I've never seen before and to produce their brochure they teamed up with specialist expedition company Dolores to suggest itineraries for the US that include Greenland Oman Tapia New Guinea and of course Patagonia for all the space-aged styling of the exterior ocean co suggests a far more relaxing and fresh interior designed by Gina Bremen who has also worked with Soho House which is one of my favorite hotel chains apart from the obligatory helicopter landing deck the yacht will of course include a health spa and a yoga room as well as ample space for an abundance of toys including a triton submersible I couldn't find any deck plans for the yacht but it looks to me like the master stateroom shown here maybe on the top deck time will tell [Music] personally I think this growing trend that we are seeing towards explore yachts is very very exciting indeed an ocean Co have done a remarkable job of having something designed that looks like a luxury privately owned Giga yacht but has all the muscle and strength of an explorer yacht as you can probably tell today I'm not in my normal office but I'm actually visiting the North Robin Johnson offices in Monaco in the marina here is absolutely chock-a-block with yachts of all kinds of sizes and I do get that I do understand why yacht owners want to keep the yacht in an area where they can relax and they can enjoy the local amenities but I also think that every wealthy yacht owner at some points in the yacht owning career should really try to experience the joy of traveling and adventuring into areas where no human being has been to before SQL does offer that possibility to enjoy that adventure in tremendous style with your own personal chef on board galley staff masseuse yoga teacher every conceivable comfort I do hope but it's a viewer of my channel that goes on to purchase SQL and to enjoy that adventure or with any other yacht come to that matter but whatever your reason for watching these videos do keep your passion for yachting alive by subscribing to my channel [Music]
