out of all the gaming PCs that I've reviewed so far this year NZXT has been the most voted for PC that I've seen yet I did a poll and over half of you chose NZXT because so many of you were interested in this specific gaming PC I also tacked on a bunch of accessories I even had our team run all of the normal benchmarks on this PC twice for several days on different versions of this PC to show you how fast each configuration is depending on your budget this is my 100 honest and unbiased review of the NZXT BLD thank you we maxed this PC out with a 13th gen I9 and 4090 GPU with 6 800 megahertz ddr5 Ram as well as tested a configuration with an i7 and 4080. I'm going to quickly take you through the unboxing of the PC itself NZXT canvas 32q curved gaming monitor function gaming keyboard and lift Mouse as well as gaming and Creator benchmarks design and build quality the internals thermals fan noise overall ease of use pricing breakdowns and comparing its price to Performance ratios against the competition as well as my overall top pros and cons if you decide against this PC after anything that I say in this video just keep watching because I'm also going to be sharing with you some alternative PCS that I recommend for every budget I guarantee that if you watch this entire video you will know if this PC is right for you or not but if you still have any questions after watching this entire video just shoot me a comment and if you're publicly subscribed I guarantee a personal response all right now let's fast forward and check out the unboxing first thing you'll notice at the top are all the accessories if you purchased any I just bought the magnetic cable puck just to kind of show people who are curious about it I don't actually think I'll use this thing I got the NZXT lift Mouse this was kind of like the apple of gaming mouses pretty sleek and smooth and was very comfortable to game on for extended periods of time I don't normally like using a light gaming mouse but I don't know there's something about it that made me not mind it too much it certainly doesn't feel cheap by any means the only lighting effects on it are underneath and you can customize that however you like using the NZXT cam software I also got the NZXT function keyboard first thing in the box is this textured black rubber Palm rest that magnetically attaches to the keyboard which is pretty cool then we've got this little key switch removal tool for swapping out or replacing your key switches obviously after removing the keycaps First with this keycap removal tool that's also included these key switches are actually hot swappable so you can use any other key switches you like depending on your preference I got the standard pre-built one but you can completely custom build these things on their website and choose your own switches you've got options for linear tactile or clicky and then you can also customize the colors anyway that you like I really like the sound of the ones that came with mine though the tactile key presses were very fun to use in gaming I would not get this if you're someone that wants a more discreet and quiet keyboard we've got a nice volume scroll wheel on the side and next to that a mute button a button for disabling the Windows key and your RGB brightness button for controlling your lighting effects without the software with the software though you can customize those lighting effects as well as create some macros or hotkeys and then lastly in the box is a detachable USB cable and then finally onto the Main Event our NZXT BLD PC we chose the H7 elite case for this build inside this box first thing you'll see is a pretty basic and obvious quick start guide an MSI branded black bag with nothing in it then deep down in the case we've got a bag with a bunch of cables for connecting different internal components to the motherboard and power supply your super beefy power cable and then a bag for everything motherboard related we've got some stickers for your toddler our very detailed Rog strix z790e gaming Wi-Fi motherboard user manual another small box with some graphic card documentation a bracket for AMD CPUs graphics card power adapter and then even more guides on your RGB controller hubs and our Kraken Elite RGB CPU Cooler that we got and then as I'm taking the computer out of the box yet another bag of extras falls out we've got more cables clamps your Wi-Fi antenna and lastly a massive H7 Elite user manual for helpful info on the case thank you and lastly before we jump into the main computer review we also ordered the canvas 32q curved gaming monitor we're going to open the stand first and then the monitor got a base and then the actual arm fairly heavy and solid feeling and then to attach them together we just need to flip it over and then hand screw them in and now for the actual monitor [Music] on the top they've included some cables for us we've got a display port USB B for Upstream data to the monitor USBC HDMI your power adapter which is a 90 watt power adapter and power cable and protected in plastic your user manual now let's go ahead and click the stand in to the back of the monitor well that was easy using their medium stand we've got 20 degrees of swivel in both directions negative 5 to 20 degrees of tilt and zero to 120 millimeters of height adjustment no option for pivoting to portrait mode unfortunately unless you get the small stand which only works with a 27 inch model overall I'm really liking this Sleek matte white design it's made out of a pretty solid plastic which makes it pretty heavy for its size at 20 pounds for the ports on the back we've got a display port two hdmis USBC a headphone USB B upstream and two USB 3.0 this is a 2560 by 1440p display and with 93 pixels per inch I would say I'm pretty satisfied with the sharpness it's got AMD freesync premium and a 165 Hertz refresh rate which is great for gaming but we do have a little bit of motion blur as you can see when we slow down the UFO test color accuracy could be better and the blacks were definitely not as black as I'd like them to be nowhere near the picture quality of the much more expensive OLED gaming monitors that I've tested my personal favorite was the Corsair Xenia on Flex for this canvas 32q there's a decent amount of control using the on-screen display and the joystick on the back but I found it easier to adjust all that using the NZXT cam software by default it's pretty bright but not just where you want it to be I'm gonna be honest it's a bit washed out overall it's definitely on the lower end when it comes to picture quality compared to what I'm used to you can see there's just a little bit of banding in the more solid dark areas it is pretty inexpensive though compared to the competition so not a bad value I also like that the stand is purchased separately very beneficial for the people that already have a monitor arm overall this monitor is pretty decent for the price and this gorgeous White Version does fit the NZXT BLD machine white versions pretty nicely the computer itself is also designed really well we've got a pretty nice balance of RGB with the components that I chose when I built this online except for this rear exhaust fan would have liked that to be RGB as well just kind of feels out of place without it the only disappointment with the build process online was that there is no wide version of this Kraken CPU Cooler so I had to choose black PC builds in my opinion always look way a cleaner when you use the same color build quality is pretty solid with every side of this chassis being made out of metal measuring 19 inches deep 20 inches tall and 9 inches wide and weighing 45 pounds love the fact that it was designed to accommodate three 140 millimeter intake fans on the front as opposed to the typical 120 millimeters and you're going to see here in a sec how that translated to thermals to access the internals no tools necessary for this one all you need to do is stick your fingers in this side Groove and pop it off the coolest design feature on this PC for me is that LED screen on the side of the Kraken 360 Elite RGB CPU Cooler there is a ton of customization options on that screen using the NZXT cam software you can cycle through different real-time stats for your CPU or GPU or both clock audio visualizer or customize it even further by uploading your own animated gifs which I thought was pretty cool the main purpose of it though is obviously to cool our incredibly powerful 13th gen I9 CPU for those of you who don't know this CPU cooling block use uses a liquid to transfer heat up through these tubes up into this radiator where the heat is then spread out and then blown out with these three top fans to the right of the CPU the ddr5 ram that we chose was the g-skill Trident Z5 RGB Black ddr5 Ram with super fast speeds of 6 800 megahertz and then right underneath the CPU underneath this insanely massive heat sink is our main SSD that the operating system is installed on which is a one terabyte Samsung 980 Pro this one is supposed to be super fast and we're going to show you the speeds that we got for that here in a sec and then the main most important part of this computer and most expensive part that glorious Asus GeForce RTX 4090 tough gaming overclock GPU that we selected pretty much just as massive and just as heavy as all the other 40 90s I've handled for reference this is it next to my Founders Edition 4080. not my favorite design but I don't hate it then underneath and also behind the GPU underneath all of these heatsink brackets each with pre-installed thermal pads we've got four more m.2 slots for an insane amount of x extra super fast SSD storage we also appear to have two more pciu slots for expansion cards but only one is actually accessible when the GPU is in there and then swinging around to the back we've got some cable management an extra Bay for a two and a half inch SATA SSD or two 3.5 inch mechanical hard drives at the bottom and then lastly in the other Corner our modular MSI MPG a1000g 1000 watt 80 plus gold power supply for the ports on the top in the front we've got a headphone jack a USB 3.2 Gen 2 type c and two USB 3.2 gen 1 type A's on the back we've got an HDMI and display port four USB 3.2 gen 1 ports seven USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports one of them a USBC all at 10 gigabits per second and then a super fast USBC 3.2 gen 2x2 port and a 2.5 gigabit Ethernet port Wi-Fi 6E connectors for your antenna and six audio ports and then on the back of our GPU two hdmis and three display ports the main software that comes with NZXT pre-builts is an app called NZXT cam here you can monitor all of your PC's real-time stats like your CPU and GPU temps and speeds RAM and network speed then under cooling you can choose different fan speed profiles depending on whether you prefer quieter fans but a hotter PC and possibly some thermal throttling or louder fans with a cooler PC overall it actually gives you the option to set different profiles for each fan separately which is pretty cool I did all of my tests in performance mode and then within the BIOS there's also a lot that you can fine tune here as well if you'd like to dig deeper and tweak more advanced settings to get the absolute best out of your PC now when it came to the fan noise these are my results after testing each of the main fan profiles and quiet mode it was just a little over 41 decibels but then when moving up to Performance mode it brought the fan noise up to a little over 43 decibels this isn't loud but it is slightly louder than average a very clean sound though with no rattling or whining now for The Thermals you can see in our thermal imaging time lapse from computer off to full-on gaming that heat does start to build up against the glass right next to the GPU opening up the glass panel reveals just a little bit more of what's going on here as the side of the 4090 GPU does generate quite a bit of heat most of the heat successfully and quickly escaped out the back and top exhaust fans though the majority of our testing was an actual gameplay though these were our CPU temps for several different games at their highest presets at 1080p you can see that it appears pretty average temperature wise when it came to the latest top tier PCS and then when averaging all 1080p gaming tests for all games together and comparing against every PC that I've recently reviewed you can see that it is pretty average next to the other 13th gen I9 PCS but then when stepping up to 4K I sorted all these results by the GPU because stress is taken off the CPU and placed on the GPU at high resolution gaming and you can see here that this PC has the lowest 40 90 GPU temps out of all the latest gen PCS that I've seen so far pretty impressive performance and gaming benchmarks and up next the most important part of this review the price to Performance ratios for cinebench R23 which simulates its 3D rendering power we've got a multi-core score of 36 381 and a single core score of 2165. the third highest right next to the Corsair Vengeance i7 400 and Lenovo Legion 7i gen 8 the more budget-friendly i7 480 version of this NZXT BLD that one scored just slightly lower than corsair's i7 400 equivalent with the same specs another very helpful test for you 3D renderers is The v-ray Benchmark and these were our Cuda RTX and overall v-ray performance scores the second best that I've ever seen for the gpu-based rendering scores very impressive this demonstrates how well a PC is going to handle real-time viewport rendering and real-time lighting you can see that the less expensive i7 480 version of this machine performed pretty average compared to the others in that category these vray performance rendering scores demonstrate how well it handles the more advanced more realistic rendering that takes a lot longer to calculate but for those of you who use blender we got a slightly over 13 000 GPU score right where it should be on the charts and then a 526 CPU score again pretty average on the charts here too with the Corsair Vengeance ia100 being at the top and then the last set of benchmarks for creatives before we get into gaming are the fusion benchmarks here's where both versions that we tested stand on the chart with the DaVinci Resolve scores pretty good and almost as high as the Corsair Vengeance PCS although both performed rather low in Premiere compared to where it should have been Adobe Photoshop pretty low score here as well compared to the other PCS with 13th gen CPUs and 4000 series gpus now for After Effects most of the PCS that I've tested got scores that were pretty close to each other so this one wasn't far off from the rest the HP Omen 45l and Corsair Vengeance i8100 were quite a bit ahead of the competition here though overall it appears that there are better options than NZXT if your Prime Mary use is Adobe products for that Samsung 980 Pro SSD the main drive that the operating system is installed on we got speeds of 6 800 megabytes read and 5000 right which is very fast here's where things get interesting from 3dmark which is a great Benchmark used to predict a computer's overall game ability we got an overall score of 33 258 a graphic score of 36 000 to 13 and a CPU score of 22 743 a new record for the highest 3D Mark score out of all the gaming PCs that I've tested the more budget-friendly i7 480 version of this computer also performed the absolute best in its category actual gaming FPS are probably what you guys care the most about though and these were our average FPS results we got for several games at their highest presets at 1080p compared to the rest it was a bit higher than average and then averaging the FPS from every game at Ultra graphic settings and comparing it to all of the most recent PCS that I've reviewed you can see that it's near the top right behind the Corsair Vengeance PCS and the CLX raw at number one that was with the new AMD 3D CPU at 1080p resolutions though things changed quite a bit when we stepped the resolution up to 1440p NZXT moved up to third place at this resolution and the more budget-friendly i-7480 version was neck and neck with the Corsair Vengeance i7 400 equivalent the four fastest gaming PCs at 4K were nearly tied when averaging the FPS from every game NZXT was only three average FPS from being at the very top I say this in most of my reviews but I'm going to say it again for people new to this channel I'm still blown away that the budget friendly skytech Azure 2 with just a 13th gen i5 and 4070 TI GPU is faster than all the 12th gen I9 CPUs with 3090 gpus the cream of the crop last year those used to be well over four thousand dollars the skytech Azure 2 cost half that so that's how everything ranks when comparing raw performance so let's check out what changes when we factor in the price to Performance ratios I also got to monitor a mouse and a keyboard the computer itself though was just over 3 800 which is a pretty good deal believe it or not for computer with these specs now that is still a lot of money so if this is still understandably too much for you then stick around for my pre-built recommendations for every budget the Corsair Vengeance i7 400 has just recently dropped 200 and is now just slightly less than this computer at 37.50 R15 about 500 more at over 4 200 and the I8 100 about 800 more at forty six hundred dollars and surprisingly the HP Omen 45l has posted an insane deal at the time of this recording theirs is actually 700 less at only 31.50 by far the least expensive pre-built that I've seen with a 13th gen I9 and 4090. as of this recording that PC is my new recommendation because of how fast it is and now because of how inexpensive it is yes that means that I recommend the 45l more than the faster coarser Vengeance PCS that I normally Rave over Corsair still does have a more appealing two-year warranty as opposed to of the typical one-year warranty for most other pre-builds so that's a valuable thing to consider and this NZXT also has a two year warranty and this leads me to the most important part of this review the price to Performance ratios because of this new updated price the HP Omen 45l now has the best dollar per FPS ratio out of all the 40 90 PCS that I've reviewed so far at 4K this I9 4090 version of the NZXT had the third lowest dollar per FPS ratio in that category and the i7 480 version had the second lowest right behind the Corsair Vengeance i7 400 equivalent same thing for the pricing for FPS at 1440p the skytec Azure 2 at the top overall and the HP Omen 45l having the best ratio for the top tier I9 40 90 PCS the budget-friendly cyberpower gamer extreme took the number one spot when gaming at 1080p resolutions though now if you're at an entirely different price point these are my recommendations for every budget I've also got links Down Below in the comments and description for all of them if you need to be under three thousand dollars then I would go with this i7 and 480 version of the cyberpower PC Gamer Supreme for just over twenty six hundred dollars basically the same specs as the less expensive version of that Corsair Vengeance i7 400 we tested but 300 cheaper although I still do prefer the Corsair version myself in my experience cyberpower PCS do tend to get a little hotter than most PCS though if 2 600 is still too much for those with the budget closer to two thousand dollars the skytech Azure 2 that I recently reviewed is what I recommend and closer to one thousand dollars this new version of the cyberpower PC Gamer extreme with a 13th gen i5 and 4060. it's a pretty good deal for a computer with those specs not super fast but very inexpensive I've also done quite a few monitor reviews lately so make sure to subscribe and check those out or if you just want to save some time and take my word for it my absolute favorite so far was the Corsair Xenia on Flex which is a massive 45 inch OLED Ultra wide which you can use flat or bend it with an 800 R curve that one is fifteen hundred dollars though my second favorite which actually has the best picture was the slightly smaller Alienware aw3423dwf 34-inch curved OLED gaming monitor at 900 or with a budget closer to 400 I would go with the Samsung Odyssey G5 Ultra wide curved if you just need something decent to get by then I would go with the Samsung Odyssey g51c 32 inch for only 250 dollars pros and cons my first con the creative app performance as you saw in my tests this PC could have performed a little bit better considering its specs Adobe product scores were not where they should have been if you use DaVinci though this one is up to par when it comes to editing and I wasn't displeased with how it performed when it came to the 3D rendering tests my second con was the fan noise in performance mode the fans were just slightly above average and while a lot of Gamers who game with the sound on won't notice it there are quite a few people that care about that so I had to mention it my overall top Pros for this computer number one is the price to Performance I was pretty pleased with how well this PC hand the most demanding games and being pretty inexpensive compared to the competition with the same specs you get a lot of bang for your buck my number two pro is the level of customizations this is more of an NZXT overall Pro rather than this specific NZXT BLD Pro but it is pretty impressive how many options you get and I love how you automatically get compatibility updates and notifications if something that you chose won't work with another component NZXT is the highest quality most bang for your buck online customizable pre-built PC that I've seen so far that has this many options CLX does have more options than this but man are they overpriced my number three Pro is upgradeability for extra pcie m.2 SSD slots on the motherboard which is more than any other pre-built that I've tested so far one extra 2.5 inch SSD slot on the back and two three and a half inch hard drive Bays a modular power supply and plenty of room underneath the GPU to add an extra pcie expansion card make this PC pretty flexible for upgrading my next Pro is thermals normally I don't have more than three pros with my pre-built PC reviews but this one has a lot to be happy about cool temps on the CPU and the GPU are a couple of those reasons out of all the pre-built PCS that I've tested this one treated the new 40 90 GPU the best with the coolest average 40 90 GPU temperatures that I've seen yet this is pretty beneficial because as you probably learned by now gpus are very expensive so keeping them cooler will only extend their overall lifespan overall even though there were some things that I was displeased with it's definitely a great PC that performs well cools well and is priced well compared to the competition so it is quite easy to give my stamp of approval and recommend it my recommendations solely for the bang for your buckness though is that HP Omen 45l if you do decide to purchase this PC or one of the others that I mentioned then please remember to use my affiliate links in the comments and description below as I get a small commission at no cost to you for every single purchase made and it's actually a
