NYC Apartment Tour 2021 - 1 bedroom in Manhattan in a luxury building

[Music] one so today i finally am sharing my apartment tour we moved in here in october and we finally feel settled and everything is decorated to how we wanted it so i'm so excited to finally share with you guys and let's just get into the video so first we'll start with the entryway we have this little shoe rack that holds all of our shoes and our little moccasins for when we have to go down and get packages this fits perfectly right here this is from wayfair and we just figured that we don't like to wear our shoes in the apartment and we don't want to bring any gross germs or dirt into the apartment so it's nice to just easily kick off your shoes as soon as you get in and then we have this little hook right here for our keys and our masks this is just really useful to have this in the entryway so that as soon as we're leaving out the door we just grab our keys grab our mask and we're ready to go so then we have this two-door closet this has our suitcases up here it also has our towels we roll them up like this to save space and we also have our winter coats and i'm a huge jacket person so i have to store them under here with our vacuum cleaner we also have our reusable shopping bags for when we go to the grocery store and then i just have a purse here so that is that side and then this side again is more of my winter coats we have more towels up there and then we just have a step stool just to use around the apartment we also have our christmas decorations back in here we have to be very limited with how many christmas decorations we have so that is that nothing too exciting one great thing about this apartment is it has a washer and dryer which is a huge deal in new york city so we have the washer dryer pretty basic on top of each other and then on top we just have our laundry detergent and some steamers and then a iron so that's just really nice to have i also love that there is a door on there so whenever we're working if we ever have the laundry going it just kind of makes the sound less loud so moving on one of our favorite things about our apartment is our island we had the option to either have an island or a balcony and we decided that since we like to cook and entertain we wanted to get an island so this was a non-negotiable for us we love it we sit at it every single night and eat dinner it's just a really nice thing you know you can talk around it and everything so we wanted to get these bar stools so these bar stools are almost like a velvet they are from wayfair and i think they're really good quality they have this exposed zipper on the back and i really love them and then they actually match our dining room chairs which i will show you in a few minutes when we move on so moving on i will just bring you into the kitchen so we have a lot of storage in the kitchen which is another huge thing because i love to cook so we have these two big shelves it has all of our pots and pans in there and then another cool thing about this apartment is we have a wine fridge uh it's not turned on right now because we don't really drink that much wine but it's fully stocked so love that so one thing that we had a limited amount of was lighting in this apartment so we had to get a little bit creative so we put this lamp right here i think it just makes this whole area look really cute this is from target i got that a while ago but i think it's great for this area and then going on to the lighting thing we actually got these removable lights that go underneath the cabinets up here because when you're cooking you want good lighting of course and the only lighting in the kitchen was the overhead light and then this one right here so we bought those off of amazon it's a pack it comes in a pack of two so we got two packs of them so useful i highly recommend those our oven and our stove our oven and the microwave and the toaster is all in here a little bit frustrating sometimes because if i want to microwave and cook something in the oven at the same time it's a little bit of a challenge so that's the only downside of this apartment that i would have to say it's not even that big of a downside but it is what it is so just more storage up here we have like our cups and our plates um and then we have a dishwasher which is also very amazing so love that you know i don't have to explain but it is hidden which is really nice so sink is just normal and then we have our coffee maker which i'm obsessed with i use every single day sometimes twice a day nespresso machines are amazing i highly recommend them we keep our pods in these little containers these are from bed bath and beyond i just think it's really nice to have these out on display and you don't have to have like any weird colored pods out so that's really nice and then we have a cabinet where we store all of our silverware and then this is my favorite rack in all of the apartment because it is our spice rack so i love how organized this is it just makes me so happy to come in here when i'm cooking and grab whatever spices i need so another thing that i love about this apartment which is similar to the hidden dishwasher is the hidden refrigerator so i just think it looks so sleek i will be doing a refrigerator tour in an upcoming video so stay tuned for that so now let's bring you along into the living room so obviously love the floor-to-ceiling windows they brighten the space up so much and it just there's nothing better than natural lighting so love that so starting over here we have a full-length mirror from wayfair i love this if you follow me on instagram you might have seen my outfit of the days in this but that's great so my favorite piece in the entire apartment is this lamp this is from west elm it's called the delilah lamp i love it so much i just think it elevates the entire room and i love the side table that it's on this is from wayfair west elm actually has the same exact one but it's cheaper on wayfair and then we just have some books under here just very simple and then also underneath this is just a little tchotchke that my dad got me for christmas and i just think it's cute and fun so moving on to the living room seating area so we have our couch i love how this couch is in l shape so whenever we're watching tv it's nice to just lay out here and then we have these colored pillows which i just think brightens up the whole room we got this throw pillow from west elm and then our newest piece to the apartment is the artwork this is actually from target target has such great homeware goods i really recommend checking them out if you are in the market to get any home goods so then moving on we love this lamp this is from west elm this was one of the first pieces that we bought even before we moved in because i was that obsessed with it i just love the gold accents in our apartment and i just think it looks really nice also over here for decor we have these shelves from amazon and then a decorative clock from west elm so moving on we have this blanket basket which i love it's just nice to have blankets to grab when you're sitting on the couch we also have plants this one's leo's plant and then this one's mine just a nice little hobby to take care of plants in our apartment so moving on to the dining table we got this from wayfair and i think it's really nice to be able to sit at a dining table and look out at the view obviously you can't beat it so also like i said before these chairs are from wayfair they match the bar stools which i really like i just like the cohesiveness of it and i think that the gray chairs over here look really nice with the gold tones in the dining table obviously since they're from wayfair they match perfectly so i love that the gold match that's another thing that i'm a little crazy about so here is the view that we have so our view is of northern manhattan and the hudson river there on the left it's so nice to watch the sunrise and sunset the sky is just so pretty in the mornings and the evenings so like i was saying before we have the option of choosing an apartment with a balcony or with an island and those are the balconies we felt that an island was more cost effective in our apartment because obviously we're staying at home more and also especially in new york because it's very cold here so you wouldn't get that much use out of a balcony as much as you would a island so moving on to our entertainment area we have this console from west elm it has a lot of storage which we were looking for when we were searching for the right console and also again we love the gold accents on here so these books actually make sense in our apartment once you go in our bedroom you will understand but these are the gray malin books and you'll see but anyways we have a bose sound bar which is amazing for sound quality especially sometimes in the big apartment it kind of echoes so this is really great for hearing perfect noise while we're watching tv watching netflix whatever tv is self-explanatory also we have this little lamp because like i said it's very hard for us to get lighting when there's no overhead lights in the apartment so we picked this lamp up actually when we first moved in we got it from target and we thought we were gonna throw it away because it was like a cheap 30 lamp but we put it there and we really like the way it looks so it's gonna stay we also got these decorative candles from target as well this is part of like a holiday collection i think but i just thought they looked really nice and then this little wooden i guess tree type of candle leo's mom got for us as a gift so that's super pretty and goes perfectly with our apartment so moving on we have a bar cart right here this is from wayfair and i wish i could get you guys a drink right now but yeah so we like that it's the perfect size right here it's not in the way we like how it's in a circle and i love the mirrored bottom of it so i'll eventually decorate it a little bit more but this is what we have for now i think it looks good so simple easy so moving on to this area we have we first didn't know what we wanted to put in this area because it's a weird space because we have the bathroom behind me and then we have the bedroom right here so it's a very high traffic area so i think we did perfectly with this we got this circle mirror off of amazon it came so fast it's actually on amazon prime and we have this little console i guess you could call it it's like a wooden console this is from west elm and then we have a fake plant this is from target just a candle on there we also have a photo of us also we have these books on here i just like to decorate in our apartment with books here and there just kind of tells a story about you and what type of person you are based on the books that you have and then we just have little decorative items under here we have these little vases over here those are from amazon so then we have a desk right here this is where leo works every day this is just a temporary desk since the pandemic and everything all of the desks were back ordered so we ordered one from west elm and it's on the way but we have a west elm chair which will look beautiful with the desk i will show the desk when it comes in an upcoming video as well and then we have this little light from target as well so targa has really great lights so now we will move on to the bathroom this is what our bathroom looks like pretty self-explanatory but i do love the lighting in here it's just really great natural lighting and then our shower curtain is from bed bath and beyond our bath mat is from brook linen highly recommend brooke linen for all towels they have the best quality and it's just amazing and so cozy and super absorbent towels i love that our shower has a waterfall shower head and then for storage in here we obviously needed all the storage we could get so we bought this off of wayfair and it fits perfectly the measurements and everything so the door is not hitting it or anything so i love that i have a little diffuser on there and then a tissue box but this is just extra toiletries and then we have behind here we hung these hooks right here and then we have this hook right here for our robes so now moving into the bedroom so our bedding again with the theme of the apartment the majority of our items are from west elm it's just very city friendly and that's like the whole thing behind west elm is they have furniture for small areas so first the bedding is from west elm i just love the all white super pretty and clean and then our bed frame is actually from west elm too what was really cool is we made this ourself so we chose the upholstery on it we chose the style of the bed frame we just chose everything so that was really cool it took a long time for it to come in the mail but i think it was worth it so then we just store our sweatshirts and all of that under here so it's great for storage if you live in manhattan you know that under the bed storage is key so love that also our rug we got this from rugs usa i just wanted something a little simple and not too overpowering so now we have our bedside tables right here these actually match the media console in the living room and then these lights are also from west elm these are obviously from west home too a big thing that we again wanted was storage so being able to store books under here is key and then the lamps i just think look really nice with the west elm bed frame and the side tables so love that moving on we actually just got this wall painted by i will leave his information down below he's a great painter in new york city if you are in the city and need someone to paint for you i highly recommend he did a great job so this wall actually used to be white and we just thought it was way too much white in here and it almost was like a jail cell so we ended up painting this a really dark gray i love it i think it's perfect the nice accent wall and then to what i said before about those books in the media console making sense this is a grey malin photo we got this framed at michaels and i just love it so much i think it just brightens up the room and i think it's different to have a beach photo in a new york city apartment i just think it's unique and i love it so moving on to our dresser it matches the media console and our bedside tables this is the modernist collection it's called at west elm and we just really liked the wood and the gold it was just perfect and we split this in between both of us and then we just have a picture of us on our dresser we have our tv right here and then just little trinket trays and some perfume and cologne and then again we needed more lighting so this is another light from target we get so many from there so moving on to this piece this piece is actually custom made by a company called contempo space we basically gave them the dimensions of the space that we needed a unit for and this is what they came up with we chose the finish and the handles and they came up with this so this is a shoe closet and i love that everything is custom and it was the perfect size for all of our shoes just a great storage space so again if you're in the city and you need a piece of furniture for a specific area that's like a weird size and maybe you can't find that dimension on wayfair or something definitely check them out i will leave their information down below and then last couple things in the bedroom obviously the floor-to-ceiling windows just make this bedroom so great love to wake up and look out the window it's unbeatable we do have shades that roll down so they are blackout shades and then we have this standing mirror this is also from wayfair they have really great mirrors and i think this is perfect for this area over here since we didn't have any other mirrors in here and it's just nice to have when you're getting dressed and it really opens up the room so also one thing i didn't mention over on our bedside table our casper lamps that are right next to our bedside lamp so this is a casper lamp i love this it's so great for trying to sleep so basically you flip it over and we both have one on our bedside table and they link together so as time goes by this gets dimmer and dimmer and it really helps with falling asleep i highly recommend this is called the casper glow lamp i will link that down below and then we just have our phone chargers here i love these stands because instead of having the wire hanging out anywhere you just have this dock sitting right here which is really nice and then we just have a coaster too for our drinks or water bottles or whatever so last piece of the bedroom is the closet this is a walk-in closet and it has a bunch of shelving which is really great and then the bars so really easy to get in and out of here excessively so we have all of our shoe boxes up there and then i have a bunch of sweaters and bulkier things folded up top and then i also have jeans and a bunch of other clothes and hats up there and then i just have a bunch of hanging clothes and then on the floor of the closet i have all of my shoes so we had to get a little creative with organizing but i think everything turned out really nicely in here and then on the floor i just have my weighted blanket because i take it into bed every night so i need it very accessible so that's the closet so that concludes my apartment tour i hope you guys enjoyed
