NYC APARTMENT TOUR | Modern & Minimal Luxury High Rise

we are currently at our potential potential new  apartment we really like this place i mean look   at the windows gorgeous l-shaped floor-to-ceiling  windows nothing's 100 yet but we really like this   apartment and we have a good feeling about it  so crossing pictures hey guys welcome back to   my channel if you're new here my name is hannah  moon and thanks for stopping by today i'm very   excited to share with you guys my long island  city apartment tour i was a little bit hesitant   before making this video because there's just so  many other videos out there but i got a couple of   requests and some of my friends even suggested i  make this so i actually had a lot of fun filming   this video we live in a one bedroom corner unit 40  floors up and we actually moved in a month before   we got married so we've been here for a couple of  months now we honestly couldn't have asked for a   better first apartment we've been really enjoying  the apartment so i hope you guys enjoy into the tour   so as soon as you walk in through the  door this is our foyer area over here   i'm just gonna close the door don't mind the dog  because we are puppy sitting my sister's dog right   now so we have a little guest appearance here this  area is where we take off all of our shoes before   we step into the house this is our coat closet  where we just store all of our winter jackets here   and then we do have a shoe rack here for our most  worn shoes sung has some type of shoes up there we   have reusable grocery bags this is just mainly  for that kind of storage and then right here we   have our key holder i bought this off of amazon  and this is kind of like our grab-and-go station   so we just have our keys and a mask of course and  just incoming mail stored here and then next to   that we mounted our dyson in this little corner we  just liked how it's tucked away it's hidden from   the view of the living room and it's also easily  accessible so very easy to just take out whenever   we need to clean the house then you take one step  to the right and now you're in the kitchen area   we do have a pretty small kitchen  but i feel like it's your standard   new york city one bedroom apartment size kitchen  and i also love that it's split into two we have   the stove side over here and the island and  one thing i love about the kitchen is that   it has a really big window here so we get a  lot of natural lighting and i can also crack   it open when i'm cooking so that i can let  some of the smoke go out so this part of the   kitchen is our stove area and i spent a lot of  my time here because i love cooking we do like   to keep the sides pretty clutter free essentials  only i leave my kitchenaid mixer here because i   use this pretty often when i'm baking i have a  cookbook over here we have our sodastream machine   some oil dispensers and a spoon rest and for our  kitchen we wanted to keep the color theme neutral   but we thought that we needed a pop color  to just add some personality to the kitchen   so we went with red and i feel like it just  adds a nice touch overall in our cabinets   we just store all of our spices and kitchen  ingredients i love these oxo pop containers   they are just the best at storing you know sugar  spices flour anything in your kitchen and we have   it in multiple sizes all throughout the kitchen so  that's one of my faves we also wanted to maximize   the space with all of our spice jars so i bought  this lady susan from the container store i believe   i also love how all of our cabinets are  soft close i feel like that's a must for   you know all the newer apartments because it  just adds a really nice touch and you're not   banging things everywhere and then in the bottom  drawer is where we keep all of our utensils   i bought all of these from the container store  as well i just love how it fits perfectly into   my drawer this just satisfies my ocd and  then even on the bottom here we have our   bigger kitchen utensils and i also bought all  of the organizers from the container store   and you'll notice that the drawers are also soft  close and then over here is the island side of   our kitchen we just like to have essentials out in  this countertop over here on top in our cabinets   this is where we keep all of our dishes and cups  and then in the bottom cabinet here is where we   keep all of our kitchen appliances so air fryer  pots pans we don't have a ton of space on the top   so we just like to keep everything here so that  everything is clutter free and then underneath   the sink we have just all of our cleaning tools  one thing i love about this kitchen is that it has   a hidden dishwasher so it blends in very nicely  with the rest of the cabinets and we don't really   use it a ton because it's just the two of us but  it's actually really great to use as a drying rack   and then walking over to the other side of  the island maui's over here taking a nap   okay enough belly rub for now so this is where  we do most of our meals we don't have a separate   dining table so we just do our eating in this  area and these chairs were actually from sung's   parents house they just had this lying around in  their basement so we decided to take it because   we thought that the white and silver accents just  tie really well with our kitchen and my favorite   thing about these chairs is that it actually  swivels so you can just easily turn around you can   even face the living room there is a little bit  of wear and tear because these were stored in the   basement but i think it does the job for now a lot  of my friends that came over they really like this   and they asked where it's from but unfortunately i  do not know and then right next to the kitchen is   a little mini home office station this is actually  sung's work from home desk and we wanted to put it   in front of the window so that you know he gets  a nice view of the outside we recently bought   this desk from amazon and he really wanted  a standing desk because he works long hours   so we got this electronic sanding desk and i'm  actually really jealous because it's a really   nice setup and this mat we just also bought from  amazon because it you know relieves some pain off   of your feet while you're standing all day so this  is his work station over here and if you move on   to the right this is our living room and it's also  our pride and joy because we spent so much time   decorating this area as you can see we live  in a corner unit so we have floor to ceiling   windows all throughout we get a lot of natural  lighting and over here is the eastern exposure so   if we wake up early enough we get a nice view  of the sunrise and over there is a northern   exposure so we get a little bit of a manhattan  view as well so for our living room we wanted   to just keep it modern and minimalistic so we  went with like a white and gray color palette   we also wanted to add some accents so you will see  a lot of pops of gold and some blues so starting   with the carpet we got this from safavieh  and i feel like this makes the look of our   living room we had to buy this online so it was  a little difficult to try and pick and choose the   right color but i think we did a good job i love  the abstract design of it and i also think that   the size is perfect for our living area and the  sofa over here this one is the west elm carlo sofa   and uh we went with the three seater we thought  that the love seat would've been too small for   the two of us and we didn't want an L-shaped sofa  so i think this three-seater works perfectly for   now and we just went with the woven gray tone and  it does have the gold legs on the bottom which   i think is a really nice pop and then on top we  just have some throw blankets i actually got this   recently from bed bath and beyond uh this is  from ugg and these get a little bit pricey but   luckily the store that we went to had a store  closing sale so we got it at a really good price   and this came in clutch during the winter time  because it's really nice and soft and thick we   also keep some pillows on top of the sofa this  one we got from society6 and it's just a nice   canvas printed pillow we bought this as a  set and we have one in the sofa and we also   have one in the accent chair and then we also have  another throw over here this one is just from ikea   that we got in the summertime it's just a nice  knitted material we don't have light fixtures in   our living room so it was important to get a nice  lamp we got this trio lamp from cb2 i just love   how modern and sleek it looks it also has three  light bulbs here so we can adjust the lighting to   whichever angle we want and we also got it in the  gold color to complement all the other accents in   the living room and then here is our accent chair  this is also maui's favorite chair that he likes   to nap on this is the phoebe accent chair from  west elm for the color of their chair we went   with the blue and i think it just makes a nice pop  statement in the living room and this is the other   pillow set that we got from society6 sorry maui  and the chair also has gold legs this actually   matches back to the carlo sofa so i'm glad that it  just kind of has a cohesive look and then in the   front we have our coffee table this is the marble  slab coffee table from cb2 we initially bought the   west elm streamline marble coffee table but we  actually ended up returning that after we saw it   in our space because it was just too big and it  gave a very closed off look so we ended up going   with this one which i'm really happy about because  it's smaller so it doesn't take up too much space   in the living room and i sometimes like to eat in  front of the tv so i got these floor cushions also   from bed bath and beyond and we weren't planning  on it but it actually matches very well with   our accent chair over here we have our bar  cart this is the terrace bar cart from west elm   and we knew that we wanted a bar cart because  we wanted to entertain our friends and family   when they come over and also i think that it's a  really nice way to furnish your living room and   just to implement the gold accents here as well  on the bottom is where we keep all of our liquor   and on top we just keep some bar accessories and  then this marble box is from west elm we just keep   some cheese knives and wine openers bottle openers  in here and then over on this side we just have   some of our plant babies this majesty palm plant  we got from ikea and honestly when we first got   it it was thriving it was doing really well but i  think the heater kind of messed it up during the   winter time because the tips are just starting  to brown there is a new stem growing so i hope   that this isn't the end for this plant over here  we have our snake plant i got this from the union   square green market and i just love how the shape  is a little bit different and then over here we   have our media console and this was the hardest  piece of furniture to buy because we were looking   for something very specific so we knew we wanted  an all-white media console to go for that modern   look we also needed something wide enough because  we knew that we were going to have a 65 inch tv   i initially saw one from cb2 that took up all  the points but it was very pricey so i just   kept searching around and i actually found this on  the wayfair this was actually out of stock but it   came back in stock about a week or two before we  moved in so i'm really happy i picked this up and   this media console is about 80 inches long so it's  perfect for our 65-inch tv and we also have room   on the sides for some decoration and the thing  i like about this is that it has a sleek open   slit over here so we just display some books our  google home my macbook and the apple tv in this   little slit area and on top over here we have  our bose sound bar this was gifted to us by my   sister and brother-in-law when we first moved in  and we honestly use this for everything we use   this for our tv sound system and we also use it  for a bluetooth speaker when friends come over so   this is an essential for us now we can't live  without it and then over on this side is our   favorite plant baby this is our bop aka our birds  of paradise we just gave it a little nickname   this one we got from the union square green market  as well and it's been growing and thriving so much   ever since we got it i'll try to find a picture  of what it looked like when we first got it and   put it here and then next to our plant we have  our wall mirror over here this is from west elm   and the gold also ties back to the other accents  we have in the living room and i really wanted to   have an oversized mirror here just to open up the  space a bit but this is the finishing touch to our   living room i just think that it complements  everything very well so moving on to this   closet over here this is our laundry closet and we  definitely made our priority to make sure that our   apartment had an in-unit washer dryer it just  makes our life so convenient and it's definitely   a luxury to have in new york city it's also great  because it serves as an additional storage space   so up on top we have our detergents we also store  some extra paper towels toilet paper napkins all   of that up there and we were also able to attach  the command hooks on the door to hang our swiffer   stick we also try to keep the ironing board and  other stuff on the side so we just try to use this   to store miscellaneous stuff as much as we can  moving on to the bathroom which is right next door i was actually very pleasantly surprised with the  size of this bathroom because it's very spacious   in here for the theme of our bathroom we kind of  wanted to follow a gray color palette because we   noticed that the floors were gray as well so  starting on this side we have our over the   toilet shelf we got this on wayfair it was very  inexpensive and i also got these lacquer trays   from the container store i just love how modern  and sleek it looks and the white complements so   well with the silver so on the bottom here we just  keep some hand towels in the middle we just have   candles and a diffuser trying to make it look  aesthetically pleasing and on the top we have   some bathroom accessories and lotions in the  basket we just keep some more extra towels and   then our sink here is actually very wide i don't  like to keep this area cluttered so we literally   just keep a hand towel and hand soap and some bar  soaps and all of our everyday bathroom essentials   are behind this mirror over here and the bottom  cabinet of the sink also opens up so we just   have some extra storage over there and these mats  we got from tj maxx it came as a set and i just   think that the gray matches really well our shower  curtains and laundry hamper are both from target   so it's like a lighter gray tone and over here we  have a towel basket that we got from tj maxx and   i recently learned how to fold my towels like this  from a viral tiktok video i think it looks really   nice and sleek it looks like you're at the spa i  know that sung is not a big fan of this because   he thinks it's a little bit extra but we get a lot  of compliments when guests come over that's pretty   much it for the bathroom so right next to the  bathroom door we have sung's closet he gets the   smaller closet of the apartment unfortunately but  i think he did a really nice job with the setup   he just has all of his dress shirts and suits over  here he has some extra foldable clothes on top and   he does have a shelving unit over here just to  store extra clothes and just some miscellaneous   things going on over there and there's also  some ties and hats that are hanging by the door   so i think he made the most out of the real estate that's in this closet and then moving on to our   bedroom so for our bedroom we wanted to keep  the same modern feel but we wanted to make it a   little bit cozier so we added lots of ivories and  grays and even a touch of wood and our rug here   is also from safavieh we wanted to just get a  shaggier rug compared to the living room because   i think it just gives more of that cozy feel and  then over here we have our queen size bed this   is the cb2 facade bed and we got it in a ivory  woven color we knew that we wanted a low platform   bed and i think this is the perfect height and  i love how the ivory matches really well with   our carpet and next to sung's side of the bed he  just keeps an acrylic stool here as his nightstand   i just think it's really sleek and simple he has  some of his books and his glasses case on top and   on my side of the bed i just have a tiered acrylic  shelf it matches really well with the stool that's   on this side and i just like to keep a plant some  picture frames and decorative candles and all of   that in there and for the artwork above our bed we  actually had a hard time picking this out because   we had to find one that you know just fits into  our theme and also fills up this negative space   on the wall so we ended up picking this one out  from society6 these are two pieces that we bought   separately but it actually complements each  other very well then here is my closet i have   the bigger closet in the house and i just like  to keep all of my clothes color coordinated   i did get the wooden hangers from target and i've  been using it all throughout just to make it look   consistent and on the top i just keep my bags  there and on the bottom i have some of my shoe   boxes but it looks a little bit messy now i'm  trying to figure out a more organized shelving   system so that's my closet for now and then in  front of our bed we have our dresser this one   is from joss & main we were originally thinking  of getting like a white or gray toned dresser   but i'm so glad we went with this walnut color  because i feel like it makes the room a little   bit homier and right next to our dresser  we have this lg styler i feel like this is   very popular in korea but it's pretty new to the  states this was gifted to us from my mom and it's   basically an at-home dry cleaner it sort of looks  like a fridge so one of our friends was asking why   we have a fridge in our bedroom but it's not a  fridge it's actually a styler and if you turn it   on you can see that it has different settings that  you can use it can steam out your clothes it also   sanitizes and disinfects your clothes and you  can even like connect it to wi-fi so that you   can create your own custom setting but this comes  in really clutch these days because of covid   we just want to disinfect all of our clothes in  here and our friends and family have also been   loving using this when they come over and then  in this little corner is my little nook this is   my vanity and work from home station this drawer  i got from ikea it's the alex drawer and i just like   to keep all of my makeup and hair tools skincare  everything in here and this white lacquer tray i   got from west elm and i just like how the white  matches really well and on top i can just store   all of my perfumes this desk i got from cb2 it's a  really nice and thick acrylic desk i just love how   it's clear so it doesn't obstruct the view of the  outside and then i have my rolling chair over here   originally before this i was using a stool and it  was just really uncomfortable for me when i was   working from home so i got this task chair from  wayfair it's a really nice velvet material and   it's very comfortable so i'm glad i got this and i  really like the gold accents on the bottom as well   right next to my desk we have a lamp our bedroom  also doesn't have any light fixtures so we   definitely needed a floor lamp this one is from  west elm and i just really loved how modern and   sleek it looked this light is a little bit dimmer  because of the globe that it has so we're looking   to add more lighting maybe next to the bed frames  thank you guys for tuning in i hope you guys   enjoyed the apartment tour as much as i enjoyed  filming it we'll be here for at least two years   that's how long our lease is for but we've been  really enjoying the apartment and neighborhood   so far there's a lot of good food it's very dog  friendly there's a lot of parks around the area   and it's very convenient for transportation as  well i feel like the location here is very good   because it's very close to manhattan and brooklyn  and everything is just very easily accessible by   car or subway and we do have amenities here in  this building but unfortunately some of them   are still closed due to covid but the indoor gym  has been open and we've been really enjoying that   we do have an outdoor terrace where you can  see a really nice view of the manhattan skyline   and we also have an indoor lounge where i  like to go and edit my videos sometimes the   best amenity though is the outdoor pool i'm  definitely going to take advantage of that   during the summer months when it's open i know  that this is a luxury to have in new york city   and i'm going to try to make the most out of it  while i'm here let me know in the comments section   what your favorite part about the apartment  was and i would
