oh man i already said it this is a movie about determination a movie about what links will you go to just to nut and get nut it's a masterpiece epic where the world is ravaged for food and the only food is nut dude i love nut did you know that some people are allergic to nut now now that's crazy imagine being allergic to nuts what crybabies dude i have a good friend who can't have any nuts what a joke embarrassing imagine being outplayed by a squirrel a squirrel they don't even speak english and they're winning i mean just look at a squirrel like who cares about them and now they got a whole movie where we have to watch them get food and nut holly was out of ideas i'm telling you the nut job is a 2014 funny story starring will arnett and brendan frazier honestly the best part about this movie though is the main squirrel's name the main dude's name this little guy right here this purple poo his name is surly squirrel shirley squirrel dude that's that's his name and he wants nuts now this movie right here cost over 42 million dollars to make and it made very little money when it first came out you know what you could do with 42 million dollars you could do like a lot of things like i don't know like you could give it you could give it to me that would be cool now this movie is a straight up disaster there's a lot of disasters in life and this is definitely one of them it's a movie where the animation truly looks unfinished like they just gave up this movie is so expensive and i'm just wondering where the movie went where did it go where where is the money man it certainly didn't go to me that that's for sure but besides animation it's just a weird story that feels like it could be good but it just does the bare minimum the literal bare minimum it doesn't bother to do anything substantial but the movie kinda knows this this is one of those back alley movies that aren't rip-offs or a legal feeling but instead just made to be made because the people behind it they had a lot of money so they just threw it away they literally just threw it at people these are the types of awful movies that you see all the time there's dozens every year just to fill the empty slots in theaters but this one stands out because of the title the nut job the nut job the listen to me the nut job how do we analyze this like a gentleman and scholar how do we analyze the title like that you see this is a heist movie where they must grab nuts so it's a job to do so it's everyone's job to get the nuts but like they know what they were doing with titling this we all know what they were doing this movie is honestly just perfect with names surly squirrel grayson who's a gray squirrel mole who's a mole raccoon is well you can guess at this point this movie takes place in a 1950s town and if you're wondering a reason as to why there really isn't one it adds nothing it could be a modern era so i don't know why it's a period piece why is nut job a historical epic it surly squirrel oh he's surly our squirrel man he talks about in life how he's just a squirrel trying to get his nut that's that's the first minute and that's an actual line yep yep but then we meet all these animals and like a whole critter squad where the raccoon basically tells them all what to do and how they all got to get food to live brendan frazier is there he's a he's a grey squirrel i guess you could say he's furry furry vengeance honestly brendan fraser is the best part about this movie he may get a lot of bad roles just so he can get that check and i love him for it but he still puts us all into voice acting honestly every single actor in this just at the bare minimum and then brenda fraser is like he makes the character his he makes it feel like it's actually his character he's the only one that feels like that the only actual animated character because as much as i love willarnette it just seems like his voice became an afterthought to the character itself they designed surly squirrel the you know his little model and whatever and then they attached willarnette to it later on just feels like they animated this entire movie they made all the characters and then they put the voice acting on it because it just feels so weird none of the voices fit the characters except brendan fraser's bye surly come back soon i mean stay away i dislike you strongly dude look at look at me just look at me i'm talking about the technical complexities of the nut job that's that's my job now that's my job so basically all the squirrels and animals we meet they try robbing nuts from this cart there's just like weird mafia stuff going on with the cart and it's so weird it's out of place there's like this weird girl that goes up to the cart and she wants some nuts and they kill her it's it's insanely dark for a kid's movie wow but honestly from the first five minutes alone you can see what kind of comedy this movie likes to have besides the word nut whenever the movie wants to be funny it just yells it just yells at you everyone yells everyone everyone's so mean in this movie i guess you could say everyone's nuts in this movie so basically when trying to get the nuts surly squirrel causes damage to the animal house or whatever you know it this exiles him from the rest of the world how sad this is an underdog story the under squirrel story he'll have to get food to prove himself at the end or whatever unless the squirrels realize that they don't need to eat nuts they could just eat us us humans now that that would be a twist imagine if in this kid's movie they just started attacking humans and eating them violently at the end i don't know why i'm thinking this i'm sorry so we just follow squirrel boy for a while on his journey through the town mostly following this mob group who all pretty much have the exact same face like they all look insanely similar they're all named tony they're all tony everyone's tony except there's one guy who's named fingers his name is fingers in the nut job yo speaking of video though hey too much jeez yeah yeah that's nut job stuff so at this mob place they're really obsessed with nuts and not for some reason like some reason who knows i don't know i know i didn't watch this movie wait but sally squirrel he can't steal it because there's a dog and you know that's his first step to redemption killing this dog this girl i'm messing around i'm telling you but he lets the dog live and he has access to all these nuts so much nut but his old girlfriend finds him and wants in on it and to share it with the colony that he got exiled from you know everyone must not they'll plan a big heist this is a heist movie they gonna steal the nuts raccoon gonna help but he's also planning to scroll samuel squirrel over at the same time well sammy squirrel wants to keep the nuts himself at the same time it's very complex the movie is insanely complex and layered in its writing it's phenomenal so trying to nut i mean i mean steal the nuts drama ensues when raccoon tries sabotaging real drama the real heist begins and there's drama everywhere everyone makes their move different prodigies are going for the nuts it's crazy everyone wants the nuts but the raccoon messes up the squirrelly squirrel leading for this big climactic chase action sequence and dude i'm not gonna lie for some reason i just wanna i just wanna talk about how this water looks like look at it like i hate how this movie looks i hate how it looks every single second but for some reason there's water right here it looks a little different from the rest of the movie like y'all see this it's so clear and blue it's it's satisfying it's satisfying to my eyeballs and during this water sequence raccoon and shirley face off leaning for oh man oh man it pains my heart but shirley sacrifices himself for his friends it's it's the saddest thing i'm crying one of the saddest moments in animation history i'll i'll miss him rest in peace shirley squirrel rest in peace can we can we get a recipe sir let's grow a chat dude oh rest in peace but but anyways the squirrel colony gets all their nut and then the day is saved and that's that's it that's there there yeah yeah but but y'all won't believe the end credits the end credits is condom style it's condom style why i mean it came out a year before this movie did but it doesn't have anything to do with the movie there's no licensed music in this movie except for this end credit song that is gondom style there's even an animated sigh in everything why why does he why does he look so bad guy guys do you see this do you see what i'm talking about dude why why what's going on here man ah nut job you never fail you never fail the nut job is a story of life and death it's an epic layered tale full of backstabbing and revenge it's a story of nut it's the most sus movie dude it's one of those movies to come out that you laugh at when you see it's advertised in the theater like you go to your friend and you're like dude should we see the nut job just to be funny and then your friend punches you in the face and spits on you but anyways this is an awful movie but i feel like it really had potential to be good if the animation didn't look so unfinished in alpha it would have elevated the story because the story isn't the worst sure it's nothing good but it actually is kind of just nice it's dumb and if a movie like this was actually giving a little more care it could have gone from awful to just all right and why not go for that why not go for just all right if you could it could have been way more enjoyable instead of putting out something that you don't care about why not make it a little more competitive with the other movies out there you could have made a little more money like what the heck and then i could have had that money you could have made people not instead you made them not care and that's sad put that in a fortune cookie that was
