now to the runner up from Serbia Novak jovic and the gentleman's singles Champion for 2024 from Spain Carlos Alara Novak I know this is not the result you wanted but you were up against such a hot talented opponent today in Carlos alarra he he he was on fire can you just share with us your thoughts on the final that that's what I was about to say he was definitely very hot today I mean yes obious obiously not the result that I wanted and of course uh especially in the first couple of sets the the the level of tennis that uh you know wasn't up to par really from my side but I mean credit to Carlos for really playing some amazing tennis very complete tennis uh from back of the Court serve I mean he had it all today um I Tred to push him you know save the three match points and uh extended the match a little bit uh but it wasn't it wasn't meant to be really he was a an absolutely deserved winner today so huge congratulations to him for amazing things and to his team of course to his team uh one Carlos and everyone family amazing amazing job you guys are doing obviously you know it's a um kind of onean show when you're on the court but you know there's a big team of people around and family and you know everything you have done so far you know only 21 years of age is is incredible so keep it going we'll see a lot of you I'm sure Novak a month ago you had a knee operation and you went from the operating table the hospital bed to The Wimbledon finals for the 10th time you've been in the finals here every year you've been in the finals every year since 2018 despite the loss today that is still an extraordinary achievement you must be very very proud of it yes uh of course of course I have to be very proud obviously you know there's uh a little bit of a disappointment right now as as we're talking uh 10 minutes after the the match finish but you know when I uh when I reflect I'm sure on the last couple of weeks and not only a couple of weeks but as you mentioned last four to five weeks and really what uh what I've been through uh along with you know of course with my team members and family um I have to say that I'm very satisfied because Wimbledon has always been a childhood dream Tournament of mine and always wanted to be here play on the center stage um I try to remind myself of sometimes how surreal the feeling is of being here and even though I was playing so many matches in my my life and be being really blessed to be you know fighting for the trophy 10 times in my career as you mentioned but you know every single time I step on this court you know it feels like the first time so you know I'm I'm I'm a child living my childhood dream once again so thank you for you very generously mentioned Carlos's team I'm sure you have a few words for your team and your gorgeous family out there sure of course um to my wife I love you thank you for supporting me thank you for being here to my wonderful children Tara and Stefan thank you also for bringing the smile to my face every single day um God I keep on tearing up every single year when I look at them on the on the closing ceremony but you know it's uh it's it's incredible to have them I'm so thankful you know to be a father of this two little angels that uh love tennis they actually start to love tennis more and more so um I I I don't know if uh I have the nerves really to keep on going with a coaching career of you know to my son there are a lot of beautiful things in life my son tennis is not the only thing but if you really want if you really wish to pursue it I'll be I'll be there for you I'll be there for you um okay enough talking I just want to say thanks to uh my whole team coaching team physiotherapists everyone managers thank you guys for uh sticking with me through uh good and bad times you know you we are probably the only ones that know what we've been through in the last not only last month but last you know 20 years I've been with most of you for for for that long so I love you guys thanks for being in my corner and let's keep it going thank you very much no jovic ladies and gentlemen
