foreign we're getting ready to get our friend Bill's bus in here this morning he stopped by just to visit to camp and I noticed some serious problems with his bus I told him it wasn't safe to drive it so he hopped on a plane and flew where he was headed to we had to order some parts in and uh he only had to go there for one day and then came back so he's gonna pull his bust in this morning and we're gonna get get working on it okay we're ready for the next bus to pull in here hearing Aaron up out there nice what size socket inch and a half inch and a half [Music] like that yep keep doing it keep doing it so this is actually hitting the bus turn there's a notch out of the steel turn the wheel to the left think through it go ahead and go back a little bit the other way that's good but this a shot oh crap can you go turn the wheel the other way a little bit I was trying to get the power steering hoses lined up [Music] okay well that's good foreign [Music] [Music] foreign but really foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] struggling let's get a bigger one oh [Applause] that's an impact gun foreign through right there okay so here's the hose we took off you can see how bad a shape it's in that was a power steering line that was leaking we got two of them that were replacing under there but yeah they're definitely they're done for crispy Critters [Applause] this Hub seal is so leaky very messed upper floor just sitting there there's a real steel going on there and I don't think I can get you a good view of that look at all that JB Weld they use on the air beam plug up an air link that's the most JB Weld I've ever seen used I got the new brake on there it's ready to go [Music] foreign [Music] you're a lot closer on that side than you are over here so you got plenty of room on this side you go that way the other way there you go straighten it out well he has an appointment scheduled for about a month out he's had it scheduled for I don't know probably four months three four months um we like we're booked all about until February right now but he's got this appointment on the books he was only here to camp and stay and I just happened to notice these serious safety issues I told him I got to fix these before I let him go so he's going to take off go visit his daughter for about a month and then he's going to come back for his appointment and then we'll really get into this bus hard okay it's been a month he's on his way back here uh and he sent me a message here that the engine just lost all power while he's going down the road and I told him check the emergency shutdown um he said it looked fine it doesn't you want to know if there's a mechanic and I said show me a picture of the air intake just above the blower and he sent me this picture and I could see that the air cut off the emergency shut off the air flapper had tripped which is why his engine wouldn't start or run so I told him how to reset that and he's back on the road so this bus broke down on the way here the clutch was slipping it was in gear uh clutch all the way out and it wouldn't even move that's how bad it was there was no adjustment left on the clutch had been modified there was no it was adjusting that was ready to fall off it was blocking traffic I'd asked a cop at one point I'm like you know I could hop in the toad the vehicle behind it this attached with the tow bar and use it to push it so the engine was running so we had air brakes and everything so he could you know stop safely and I just used the the Jeep toad to push it and we were able to push it home and at one point we had it up to 40 miles an hour and it wasn't getting overheated or anything we just kind of backed off if the temperature started going up a little bit it was only 11 miles and it did real well to get it here so we have it at the bottom of the hill and we're gonna try and get it fixed up and get it up into the shop foreign so the clutch adjustment knob here has been completely Modified by somebody and there's no adjustment you can see the negative threads in there the rod is just barely hanging in there you were afraid to turn anymore because it's going to fall apart but there's zero the clutch is completely slipping you've let it out of gear and doesn't even move the bus um so we're going to try and see if there's any adjustment that we can add to it we're going to disconnect it first and see is there is the clutch actually grabbing the flywheel or not okay so we disconnected the adjusting nut on there so the clutch springs themselves the clutch is 100 engaged and then I clicked it into gear here he's actually borrowing my flywheel over did it feel any tension difference between gear and no gear there's a little bit of something right there it's a little bounce back that might be compression once we barred it over there we took the slack out of the Driveline and it was engaging so we couldn't bar the engine over anymore so we're hoping just a simple clutch adjustment here by adding the length to that Rod that there's still enough friction surface in there where you're still going to have a clutch okay we are cutting and Welding this Rod longer for the clutch adjustment since we did remove it all the way and there was still some engagement of the clutch then we just didn't have enough threads on here to on the knob to do it uh it's already been welded and extended once before we can see here but we're getting ready to do it again I get about two inches longer then we'll have plenty of adjustment thread and hope he's still got some clutch we can make it up the hill and we can do another foreign all right I'm gonna go back there and you're gonna go ahead and fire it up slowly let out of the clutch in neutral Tyler I'm gonna have him test the parking brake with the clutch if it goes to like so go ahead and push the clutch down okay let's quickly I just want to see if it bogs it down or if it overcomes the parking brake and the engine runs and it's in gear it does nothing so put it into first you're going to just slowly let the clutch out a little bit don't go all the way we want to see if the engine dies or if it tries to go forward or not just want to kill it that's a good sign okay go back to neutral go ahead and let's build up the air what are we at now that's pretty quick he's gonna build air now the engine wanted to die so that was good okay what are we at I just want to see if you'll roll forward a little bit so just go ahead and uh should be able to release your parking brake now put it into first let's see if it'll roll doesn't sound like the break is released what are you doing that for right now at least the parking brake yep go forward what yeah go for a little bit more oh yeah nice okay go ahead and set the parking brake you can shut it off get re-ready everything you need to put away and everything to see about backing up and going up the hill we're definitely not going to pull the toad up the hill though that's a good sign it's moving on its own power wouldn't do that yesterday let's add in gear and move to zero [Applause] I I think his marker lights are coming his turn signals are coming out when he steps on his brakes come on get on it [Applause] time I thought there was a zero percent chance of that happening I was 50 percent it's closer that's pretty impressive what a beautiful day here goes another two-stroke [Music] okay let off the brake step on the brake at least the lights in the backward because your turn signal comes out when you step on the brake let off the brick parking Bridge [Applause] foreign we need to take these bolts off of here and they're covered in JB welds we're gonna have to excavate them out of there but that is the largest JB World Repair I've ever seen I'm pretty sure Loctite was cheaper yeah and these are the old style of plates we're putting block off plates on there and we have to get two new Rings because we don't make this hardware for these new whole Rings like this anymore Okay so we've been using this Hercules uh Ultra torque uh Harbor Freight impact half inch gun and we've been doing it I think five buses now removing all the lug nuts from it I've only had two lug nuts that I've not been able to remove with this and this three-quarter inch Milwaukee also would not get those same two lug nuts so everything else that this normally does this has been able to do um a lot less price five year warranty I need to send this in for warranty repair I'm having some problems with it but I can't their warranty repair you got to send it in online you got to submit them the serial number and all that and there's a big ding on here on the label I can't make out what the serial number is in the middle digits there I haven't figured out how to be able to send it in Harbor Freight I know their warranty you can just walk in the door with your receipt and you know get it replaced just about anywhere Harbor Freights are all over the place this I have to mail in but I can only do it online and then this serial number thing is screwing me and getting it done so I've been really really happy with this we're going to keep using them here um I have a whole line of uh their different impacts but this half inch one with the ultra torque uh is really really impressive gentle the air compressor catch up a minute yeah 150 psi makes a difference that air gun is awesome though the chief some Harbor Freight man very impressive hey that does my ir and my Snap-on yeah we compared it to my snap on my big snap on one I'm missing this thing went better for a third of the price or less maybe a quarter of the price my Snap-on was used and this was still a quarter of the price that one we're replacing because it's so bad so we weren't worried about messing up the threads okay so we got this all cleaned up here we're gonna send it to the hydraulic shop to have it rebuilt it's been leaking fluid all over the place on this bus it was definitely a lot cleaner than it was a little while ago Tyler is removing the bell housing bolts here for the transmission and then Hunter is under there getting ready to remove the drive shaft flange there and then hopefully within about 15-20 minutes these guys will have this ready to come apart foreign [Music] ratchet it's working real well foreign without them that's good right there is this is this in the way is it off [Music] okay hold on that wire is hot foreign once it's not a tip Hazard it's like it's got a bad input seal on it too you should probably replace the rear main seal while we're in here all right I got half of it yeah foreign it's usually hard to get off the dowels worn it has yeah it's definitely worn to the rivets all right Hunter lift it up let's see the Carnage The Other Side Works yes oh maybe that's it's worn through the rivets over here too yeah mud daubers were in there and I think we just broke them loose but yeah this whole surface is in horrible shape but this ain't nothing I feel this oh I can see it but it's nothing compared to what's over here you go ahead and put it back in there it's a good thing just put the clutch in [Music] luckily I've got a good core here that we can send a machine shop and this one's in really good shape it's got a couple little cracks in it just some heat checking just a couple of them very very small it's got a little bit of grooving just take the Machine Shop get cleaned up because I don't think these are available anymore maybe not readily available we've definitely used a lot of Harbor Freight Tools in this episode uh that particular engine weighs too is Harbor Freight I bought that probably four years ago I got two of them this is the smaller one I got a bigger one a smaller one and a smaller one is great for transmissions but good I've had really good luck with that stuff Hunter's starting to take off the airbags here look at that nice little bulge in there extra tennis ball this has the old style rings on it we're going to replace two of the Rings because the hardware as you can see kind of shaped like a horseshoe that's not the style they make anymore this is actually better than what's made nowadays but we need longer bolts at the top because we're putting no block off plates on this side because it's got the Weld and JB Weld on the air beam up there but we got lots of Parts ordered for this thing we're pretty well deep into it here but another day or two of tearing into it and then we're just mostly we pre-ordered a bunch of parts so we'll be able to get some of the stuff on but we're just finding more and more other issues as we go [Music] you can see that a white smoke rising up the hotter through the trees and from a mile away when you can hear them play as they climb that hill with e [Music] top of that mountain there's a new life waiting for those who can make the Run they can make it to the top Scott will put them in the shop till their new life has become [Music] the way the buses come to run we're gonna get that big job done [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music]
