in 2018 my family and i moved to our dream home in which we built from scratch my dad the contractor and my mom the designer only until 2021 we decide to sell everything we own and move to nazara costa rica we didn't know what the future held but what we did know is that we were each aligned with this decision and believe this is truly our current calling this is our story [Music] [Music] [Music] this is the menu and we are going to start out with the chips and guac and then my dad and i we are going to get moscato burrito which is fish and then pasta which is pork shoulder and then we each get two burritos so we're just gonna do a little switcheroo what do we have here we have chips in guacamole thanks for identifying this i was wondering what that was oh yeah digging guys let's see maybe it is i don't know it could be something else let's taste it and find out just in case what is this mystery stuff here this green stuff delicioso good we love some good chips and guac i just want to say how much i love you guys and um how amazing this journey has been it's been a crazy journey that we've been on all of us you know and we've all come together as a family and i'm just really proud of all of us every single one of us how strong and how you know none of this has been easy but we've all built each other up and kept each other strong and so this here's to that you know here's here's to to be on the other side we still got a lot ahead of us but it's been an amazing journey and i'm excited for more i love it so i would love it if each of you guys talked about your drinks maybe dad you can start out with so this is called chili guaro and this is kind of a classic costa rican drink the guaro is an alcohol i think it's a little unique to here from my understanding and i've heard if you drink tons of it you actually will hallucinate but i've never got to that point but they take a chili sauce and they mix it with aguaro and it's delicious it's almost like a mini um bloody mary kind of a spicy bloody mary it's very good and then we got passion fruit margaritas here mm-hmm and what are these what are is a that is a dried lime and it just it's it's called a um tangerine lime and so it's actually bright orange when it's normal and um they dry it and it just has such a great and zach what do you got going on over here so i got the chili guaro of course and they had a special with the gin and tonic with some kiwi in it now i thought this was a mushroom at first but it's definitely a kiwi same thing it's dried up and yeah just wanted to try something new oh wait do not put that on the table let's eat let's eat that so just trying something new it's a very fancy glass yeah take here get some of me okay this is what i got i just got a cute little chili guaro one of these is equivalent to like half a drink and zach described if i were to drink i would be chilly guaro i love spicy food that's right and this is right up my alley so cheers cheers zoe the chili guaro mom explain to us what you got here i got a hearts at palm and kale salad miss healthy over here well you know it's interesting because i asked carlos what he'd recommend because i was going to get some burritos and he he said this with this smoked chicken so i was like you know what i'm going to take it from the local and i am going to get started wow this is called the alambre it's like a traditional platter with the rice beans and a little side salad but the fort she said is locally sourced and it's a really good quality fresh fish so um excited to enjoy this wow delicious delicious yeah what my dad and i got is we got the el pastor and then piscato which is fish and pork he got fish i got pork we did a little switcharoo with the burritos and i'm about to give a try now i think this is the fish one yeah nice thumbs up solid and we got a little salad and some yucca um chips love it look at this pork burrito oh my goodness we got pineapple salsa in there some um what is it dark beer pork pickled onions pickled onions we got some fish we got some guac pickled onions some fish [Music] okay mom where are we right now we're at the guild of iguana and we just ordered an incredible breakfast yes so they have a brunch menu on the weekends and we just ordered from the brunch menu we're super excited we've been eating here every single day just for breakfast because it's included yeah so we will show you guys our breakfast what do you have i don't know i i just ordered it i'm not sure what it is though tell me do you know what it is it looks like an iced coffee to me oh yeah i think that's what it is yeah happy video from nature how was it what did you um i got something called the mexican which is a uh skillet basically with some eggs and some salsa verde avocado some nice toast and a side of like fresh homemade hot sauce too super delicious mom what'd you get i got a toast that has scrambled eggs prosciutto fresh tomato basil and pistachios it looks really really good oh and also a great hot sauce everything is made locally here which is so nice everything's organic and delicious and i pretty much bought the same thing zach got the same thing so we got some pistachio some toast some prosciutto ricotta cheese i think fried egg and some peppers [Music] um [Music] um um [Music] yes [Music] three [Music] so we got um a crepe it looks like it's grilled with nutella and some gouda cheese on there cheese on there quite the combo so i'm excited to try it let us know how it is [Music] yeah i love it in spanish i didn't disappoint it not at all wonderful thank you so much thank you [Music] do so [Music] [Music] spicy margarita look at it's on fire got a jalapeno in there some salt around the rim what do you got here is that got a mule some rosemary in it let's take a look delicious very fresh dinner game but how do you guys what's going on over here we're chilling man we are having tonight can you show me your drink yeah this is a a honey old fashioned it's beautiful it's got blueberries in the ice cube a wonderful bourbon with some local honey and it's like some homemade house-made bitters in there as well it's delicious enjoy sir thank you cheers cheers what do you got moscow i've got a moscow mule and it's really really really good there's some rosemary in there and i think this is an orange lime cheers girl mandarin lime i think it's called mandarin cheers let's take a look at our view wow isn't that amazing amazing our food just came out what do we got over here mom oh my gosh what is this willy that is a texas burger barbecue sauce double patties cheese it's pretty much like this pretty much the one man that's the burger yum got some um wet fries yes ma'am and what do we got every year zach you go ahead this fancy thing what is that but it looks so good that's um what is it i know this one right here is the chicken and then there's some like fried plantains under it with their special cilantro sauce and some other really good stuff yes thank you that's why i didn't remember because it doesn't look like a ravioli but this is the ravioli really cool really really cool feeling zach what'd you think of your meal it was incredible beautiful experience all of it was great dad what'd you get this is a chachata he's kind of like a cicada look i love that this i love to not put them on [Music] well we have something called picomole which is a guacamole with pickles in it it's very unexpected and it's not what you want every time but on occasion it's really quite magnificent i want it every time i want it every time too it's really good it's not good yeah i want it every time dad oh wow i guess yeah oh my gosh we got our food i didn't get my food not yet so i got a thai coconut curry sort of medley thing with some brown rice on the side um cajun blackened fish this looks so delicious i'm so excited [Music] that's so good [Music] hey zach what's up we are currently at mahalo bowls we moved in our new place today yes okay i'll talk about mutt so mahalo bowls is build your own bowl i guess kind of like chipotle but significantly better and with cocaine so i have a zoodle i in my bowl i have zoodles rice noodles carrots fried onion onion green onion avocado pineapple kale cucumber some toasted sesame seeds and drizzled on top is some sriracha aioli some sriracha and their mahalo
