Experience Luxury Living in the Northlake 4000 sqft Texas Best Barndominium Tour

[Music] and welcome back to the channel it's always exciting because now it's time to show you another finished Barn aminium this is the North Lake Barn aminium there's a lot to offer here when it comes to square footage on the exterior as well as the overall layout because it's a lot of Texas size things happening here on this build one thing to note right off the bat is this is 140 ft long of barn aminium structure going on here it's about 40t wide on the main frame the living portion is approximately 100x 40 with a shop that caps off on the end which is 60x 40 Shop there's the double black garage doors and you you've got the shop which kind of goes up and the main house that is a little bit farther down where the connection is so it sort of ties in a little bit differently another thing we have is the front covered parking area which is could be a pass through could be a pull through area there but this is the front door which comes into the main living the main thing is all about the outdoor living here we have a beautiful decorative Gable that has a lot of Port space which is an additional 800 square foot and they've actually added a pull here to tie all this together at the end so on the exterior we have this beautiful black roof which is a PBR style panel and the black trim with our bright white panels for the exterior walls which is really nice because you got that contrast and uh this seems to be a real popular way to go now yeah and I love those black windows so that you know breaks up some of the white as well on the on the walls yeah a couple details there for the windows is we have some really nice casement style Windows which are the E Anderson Windows and you know this is obviously a more expensive way to go but they have the black on the exterior as well as on the interior another key feature here which is got to be one of the main things is this panoramic huge 30ft door that our clients special ordered and had installed and this is a beautiful way to connect your main living area to that Outdoor Living so in the spring weather or in some of that better climate you could open this completely up and just be connected to that outdoor life as well so another thing that got added here is we have an 8X 100 ft patio that goes all along the back which ties from the pool area and one of the master bedrooms and on into the shop area it's all kind of a Connect patio which ties it all together as well on the interior we have 4,000 ft of living space there's five bedrooms three and 1 half bath tons and tons of storage well this is what it's all about right here is having this big open area and just you know you got about a 40x 50 or 40x40 somewhere in that approximate square footage a great room yeah it's 1,600 plus Square fet you can just imagine things that you could do with a space like this when it comes to entertaining essentially when we're talking about the steel post frames is what I like to call it uh Barn aminium that we build it has a strong Advantage when it comes to creating spaces like this without having to have all the wood trusses and all the things that you would have to do if you were using all wood frame in rooms like this they would not be as achievable unless you added all these trusses and stuff across the the rooms if you were just doing conventional wood frame and they kept the same color scheme on the outside they brought it inside this is a whole bright white eye sculpture bear paint it's all white and bright the trim and the walls are the same color right and uh it really just opens it up and brings in that natural light from the outside yeah and that's what you're trying to accomplish is to take that natural light so you have the lighter walls and ceilings and that helps have that reflective uh surface to where it's just sort of reverberating when it comes to the light another thing our client did because when you have higher ceilings you want to keep it bright enough at the nighttime uh they added 8in disc lights instead of your standard 6in lights so that's another thing that they did here uh which I think turned out really nice too well I think we're kind of in the dining area where you would put a they could put a super a really large table here and and accommodate a lot of people people um but they have this really cool uh I guess it's a chandelier it's it's going to go over the table it's got like 14 lights it's got the the cool accent bulbs on it yeah it's a 6x6 kind of post uh and I don't know if this was a DIY thing or just a fixture that they bought it has a pretty cool display to it um I kind of like mixing the soft lights with the other bright light it just helps bring in a little bit more of a warmer tone what you might want when you're sitting down eating dinner with your family in the evening yeah you can kind of turn off the white lights and kind of leave the the gold Hues in here yeah but there's again more windows displayed here uh and I like that these windows just a little bit higher off the ground than like your door does because this gives you uh available space to put like another table or well yeah you don't want to put seats or seating up against a a fulllength uh window so you can put a table there or whatever so so let's tell them a little bit about the flooring that we have throughout here all right so this is a life prooof uh vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot um it's got some whites and the Grays um but it's a really pretty really rustic looking wood type flooring yeah and they did add some floor plugs in here uh giving them the opp opportunity for their living room setup however they wanted to configure that yeah cuz a lot of the couches nowadays have you got to be able to plug them in they maybe recline or they you may have an end table with a lamp that you're going to need to um know that ahead of time so that you can make sure and put that into your slab mhm another thing to help kind of divide up the room here is we have this steel beam uh that comes up and over this area now this is our main structure of course they wanted to paint this the same color uh as a lot of their other trim keep them with that black um but this is just the actual steel beam that we're using this is a 12in beam that comes in across the room uh for this space and it kind of does give it a little bit of Separation uh you know cuz now we're going to be into the kitchen area so yeah and it divides up literally right here where the break is for the kitchen U now moving into the kitchen we've got a lot of exciting uh finishes going on in here this is more of a I think a contemporary modern feel that we've got going on here and some of that has to do with some of the color schemes yeah so everything's black and white we we did a black paint on the the island and all the Cabinetry here uh which obviously breaks up all the white walls so it looks really nice with the difference one thing I could say about the cabinet here for the island is there's a lot of dual storage so we've got things happening on the front side of the island as well as the back side so uh anytime you can incorporate that it's a good use of space uh because especially when you have these open areas like this there's not a lot of uh you know you're not trying to add a lot of cabinets but here they went a little bit less on the upper cabinets so they had added some more lower cabinets below okay now since we're building Texas siiz Barn miniums here this island has got to be one of the largest ones today it's the size of Texas it's huge yeah so and you know the the overall just presentation is dynamic you know I love this black it's definitely a statement piece in this room right sure uh so we do have a couple of pieces of plants here to too so yes they have a couple of things in the island they have a their dishwasher of course right here next to the the sink but they also have ice maker which you got to have if you're going to have all these outdoor parties you got to have to have a ice maker that's right got to keep those drinks cool and uh that's a nice feature to have as well you know in any home but I think in this particular home with all of the entertainment options uh like you said you got to you got to have the ice sure well the countertops here are beautiful they did an upgraded countertop it's a Cambria dovestone quartz it's you know pretty much white and then it has a lot of the black accents in it which looks beautiful with a cabinet color I like this countertop uh I haven't I don't remember seeing this particular one before but I think it was a special order one that we actually had a fabricator I think through Home Depot came out and did the install on this yes uh so that was something a little different for us but I really like to match uh the way that all this Blends together and you know one thing to keep in mind when you're doing this kind of black with the gold Hardware you know keeping a a light countertop and color is the way to go right so you don't want anything too busy because you're trying trying to simplify but here I love the simplification of this sink in times past you know you're doing Barn aminium a lot of times you feel the pressure you got to have a farm sink right you're in the barnini farm sink but here I feel like it would almost been taken away from this because this is like the size of two sinks it's one Basin but it's so long so I'm not sure the exact dimensions but it's got to be like 40 in wide and you know it's it's really it's really sleek and nice yeah it's a stainless seel Delta it's a undermount sink and it has like a nice slope to it I like how it ties together the appliances with the other fixtures because here you are using some stainless steel with the gold Hardware now I haven't normally seen that but and you always wonder how is this all going to mix and tie together but you know I'm not I'm not minding the way it looks at all yeah it looks great uh this thing has a really cool feature um I would really like to try out I won't do it it'll make a mess but this is like a cup or a bottle washer um the the lid removes and you actually push your cup down on top and it it actually sprays the water up inside and cleans the cups for you yeah that's your kids can rinse the cups out I think that'd be a neat feature also we have this push button garbage disposer here which has the switch actually on the top of the counter top again another technical thing that you have to a place to put so you're either going to have a switch somewhere or a button somewhere so you kind of have to find a way to display that yeah when you don't have the pony walls the old style multi levels you know you don't have a place for plugs uh you know you have to think about these popup plugs that come into the countertops or on the exterior on the wall on the outer shells of the island which here we do have some plugs on the ends of the island but it's so far you know you you you just you have to think about about where you're going to put the switches and stuff like that right well this island being so big it can see 10 people surrounding the whole the whole island so that's that's pretty massive that's definitely Texas sized yeah and I I think you know it's it just you're not going to feel crowded sitting at it either because there's a lot of space another key feature here obviously is when you have a big island you want to have something that sort of ornament that hangs down over top of it and here we have the these pendants which uh sort of match the the goose neck top pendant style but here they're just hanging straight down which sort of kind of goes back to that restaurant feel when you're looking at that and they're and they're black on the outside but then they have like a gold in inlay that matches all the the hardware they've got here which ties together as well with the chandelier that we're using if that's what you would call it for the dining room so let's tell them a little bit more about the cabinets that we we got going on this side of the room well we have a lot of cabinet space over here tons of drawers and a beautiful display for like a buffet with again the the Cambria dovestone quartz uh with a beautiful backsplash with the the gold accents in it and this beautiful this is a little bit different backsplash here that we're using I you know and and it works good here because you got that splash of flakes of gold essentially that you're kind of showcasing which again if you would have had a too busy of a countertop you wouldn't have been as easily able to do that but another thing is we have the gold Sloter that we're kind of trimming that off with cuz you're Razzle and Dazzle when it comes to this uh Barn aminium in the kitchen yeah all the gold so uh about the buffet I mean when you have such an entertainment style baram minum you better have a good place to to set out all the food stuff that you're going to have so this is great for that also the casement style windows that are above this uh allowing you to open it up as you like I said with the spring weather or whatever you want to open up them panoramic doors get a breeze going yeah you can really bring that outside here on the end and uh this is just a great way to do it so we have a lot of drawer space in this this Buffet area with the soft clothes on the drawers and then we also have our microwave drawer here that they've got located in this Buffet yeah that seems to be a popular way people are going a lot and especially if you're not going to have as many upper cabinets you want to have a place that you can display uh your your microwave or still have one because if you you don't want to sit it on the counter anymore it just doesn't look as pretty yeah and if you have kids I mean again have a microwave that's not a kitchen without a microwave I mean what are they going to cook their hot pockets in exactly so uh as we continue on on into this kitchen we have our upper cabinet for our full wrap refrigerator space now this is just one of the refrige one of the refrigerators um because we have a very large Pantry which we'll show you here in this area but uh as we skip over that for this moment this is not your typical Pantry no it's not a corner Pantry so this this is a complete so we'll get in that here in just a second but as we move on to this side this is where some more beauty is being showcased so the focal piece on this wall is going to be this massive Venna Hood yeah but you know you don't need a large ven Hood unless you've got this set up like something like this which here is a double range style wolf brand cooktop and we've got a six burner with this flat top grill uh with with this stainless Appliance it looks really awesome here but you can't have something this large without having something to kind of stamp that off with when it comes to all of this awesome cooking you got to be have somewhere to ventilate it to our cabinet builder made a beautiful piece to incorporate and and kind of tuck away this ven hood and make it a really pretty piece so of course having this cook top area you have all of the backsplash which has to kind of come up and you got a little more of that on display too uh which ties everything in together yeah cuz it really has the gold and it has the gray so it it incorporates the stainless steel with the gold it's really and it really makes these beautiful flowers look really nice today by none other than Mrs Brandy yeah it's like it's a cookie jar for later for the kids yeah so and the husbands that's always a nice touch and uh you know here today we got a little bit of yellows and some of the lavender colors going on in here this but I love the way this turned out now as we move on down we've got a little little more Buffet as well as a lot more drawer cabinets so this again we have very little upper cabinet storage in here uh so now this here is going to be some floating shelves right now this is more of a temporary setup uh just something to uh kind of for functionality but and to show you guys because we didn't want to have just the steel rod sticking out but the other floating shelves will be coming in at a later date okay so our pantry this is not our typical size Pantry this is a complete walk-in Pantry it just kind of keeps going and going now for now our clients have some refrigerators in here but you can see the amount of shelving that we were able to put here I think it's kind of unique to have a space like this because it sort of looks neat and conventional because uh it looks like more maybe like a typical Corner pantry now you could have certainly just had a regular Pantry for this space but it leads on back into a much larger room uh which is more than 10t long and you know 7 or 8T wide so you got a lot of extra space and here right now uh I think they're sort of trying to organize how they're going to set this room up but for the moment there's a lot of shelving that we built in here uh for the pantry space and they can organize that and kind of make it their own however they're going to do that in the days to come so off of the main living area is a corridor that leads all the way centrally located through the house now this serves all of the rooms mostly As we divide up the compartments uh for living so you know you try not to have as many hallways but here based on the design it seemed to work better in in with our clients whenever they uh put this design together so right off of this hallway first we have a guest bathroom which is a halfbath which gives uh a nice convenience for the guests as well as uh right off the kitchen area so the first bedroom off of this hallway is going to be a guest Suite it's a 17x 14 large bedroom and a beautiful full bathroom right so also in the bathrooms I should say that currently there's no mirrors there they're going to be adding those at a later time but they do have the bar lights and we have some more of this beautiful countertop on display uh with the rectangular under mouth sinks one thing you'll note here in the bathroom is we have this hexagon shaped floor tile that continues all the way into the shower and we've made that float into the uh drop in for the shower itself yeah it's really cool how there's no transition to the tow in this bathroom it just goes straight into the shower yeah and we normally do when we pour the foundation we try to you know put those drop-ins there already they're part of our uh footprint whenever we pour the foundation that way if our clients do want to do this it makes it more wheelchair accessible uh definitely here uh I think they're debating whether they want to add any kind of shower glass at a later point in time but they'll just have to see functionally how they like having this open concept another thing I think that adds to this area is having the natural light and having the window in this space too now all of these cabinets are shaker style which we might not have mentioned earlier uh so it's keeping with that simple design uh as well as soft clo Hardware now as we come into the master bedroom this could have easily been a side garage because you got the space this is a 20x 20 20 master bedroom uh which gives you the amount of space to park two cars so uh 400 square foot uh this is going to give them plenty of ample space to be able to lay it out pretty much however you want to yes one thing I definitely like about this room is that it has an exterior door so it leads out into the onto the patio the back porch kind of area yeah and it sort of matches all of our door profiles which is more of that Shaker style panel doors and uh we also o have some of the natural light coming in on these uh casement style windows that we're using here keeping with the same color patterns we have all the white as well uh keeping you know that contemporary look and also the flooring uh as well continual right so a lot of openness going on in here too because we're now in the shower so this is a pretty cool design uh you know it's it's sort of you know making it to where where you you don't have all the division going on in the bathroom that you normally do so here it's really open I don't know as far as obscurity or making any of these windows obscured or what the plans are in the future but I do know that this is a pretty cool feeling room uh because we have all this continuation when it comes to our floor tile which here is a pebble style tile on the floor yeah so it's a black and white Pebble it's from Home Depot and and uh it's got a nice smooth feel to it so on our wall tile that we're using in the master shower one thing that I like we did here is it's extending all the way around that jacuzzi tub that is really special which we'll get into some of those details but this is a floor and decor tile which is a large format tile which I like the pattern on this uh and it's called Soho gersy uh like I said it's from Flor and deor now you could go a couple couple different ways here uh when it comes to the grout color but here they just went with kind of a lighter gray color or I guess it's a neutral color gray um which sort of Blends everything together um but this is I think this is kind of one of my favorite rooms almost in this house because I I just like all the the cool FL well you don't feel like enclosed in the shower cuz there's no glass here but we do have two shower heads a traditional one on the wall that actually you can remove to rinse the floors or whatever and then we also have a head above yeah so this is always nice when you can incorporate that and here with having all the natural light it's going to be like it's just raining outside pretty much while you're in the shower now on this jacuzzi tub it is fully powered there is a lot of jets I can't remember how many but it's a twers tub it's a two Feer yeah yeah so you have uh it takes a little while to fill it up but you have all the hand sprays as it also Al have bluetooth speakers so you can play music looks like it's got some lights in there too it's got lighting it's got a comfort uh rest uh for your back whenever you're kind of laying there a really nice setup and you know we've had to position it this way because there's actually an access panel that we were able to put in um on our pantry side of the wall so uh that way for another technical thing you kind of have to figure out a way think about that stuff before you put it in so U but here uh it it's part of the the shower room you know because it's all all in one and and it's really nice so as you're getting out you know the water can just drain over to the shower it's a good setup now one last thing is we do not have the mirror in now it's going to be a lit mirror kind of like what we have in our closet which uh you're going to see but uh the mirror that they had didn't fit so they they're going to be doing a custom one which is not here at this time but there will be a a lip mirror that goes in front of the vanity in the bathroom here now as we move into the closet uh this is got a lot of options for storage it's all built-in storage lots of fun different drawers and waight slide outs and all kinds of Cubbies for all the storage for shoes and purses and hats now when you're trying to design or lay out your closet one thing to keep in mind is you know clothes take up about 2T of space anyways so you know because of your hanger space and so however you design the width of your closet um you know you can't expect to have uh much more room if you got clothes on this side clothes on that side whatever's left is your walkway space so here it feels a little narrow but that's just because they got these builtins cabinets which is going to be uh basically all already uh taking up the space so your clothes are not going to protrude into that area as we come down the hallway a little further we actually have two more guest bedrooms they both have a walk-in closet and they both have a an accent wall that the customers chose for their children yeah and now they don't have official doors on these uh it's undetermined I think exactly what they're going to do they may uh be putting some barn doors they may be putting some curtains I'm not sure exactly but but uh they wanted to leave that open uh for now and uh but it puts them on display for you guys to see uh what the storage is like in these areas and on the other side of our Corridor here we have another bedroom um which is actually in this case going to be used as a homeschool area so or you could use it as office or or a bedroom because it's got a full Closet in here and now they did some custom kind of creative paint a work in here because uh again it's going to be a learning area for to kind of break it up for the for the kiddos whenever they're doing their schooling now to conjoin all these these rooms there is a bathroom here now looking into this bathroom I really like the clean uh tile that we used in here um it looks really nice and it's more of a white large format towel that has the black Hardware uh as well as a continuation of our countertops on our cabinets for the vanity as well as the cabinets themselves so we got the Shaker sty cabinets continuing that theme throughout so the last room in this home is going to be this laundry area SL mudroom it's kind of a multi-purpose functioning space yeah and I like the feel of this it's got sort of this vanity feel going on because this is the lit mirror that was going to go in the master that didn't fit quite right so uh they put it here and this seems to work well gives a real warm filling uh also provides some more light in here uh and a lot more drawer space for this this room and definitely have some some space to do some folding because there's lots of laundry going to happen in this area yeah the kiddos are going to appreciate having a space to do all their own laundry and I know all the ladies are jealous of this stackable washer and dryer they got two sets that's right the double the double laundry happen at the same time that's right Double the Trouble right there um and again here is a nice mud bench storage area and I'm imagining you can have your Hooks and stuff like that for your backpacks kind of a drop zone you know put their shoes underneath hang their backpacks yeah MH and not to not to fail in this area we have also another sink for cleaning area you can rinse your stain or whatever yeah so here we just have a standard faucet with more of that beautiful countertop and a undermount stainless sink so this is that large 60x 40 area where we built the shop now our clients has actually already come in and they've added some some additional space for storage as well as an an office room uh and some optional uh living options as well on a downstairs area but one of the things that they did is they created a lot more storage on the end of this shop uh to where they'll have a nice place to be able to to keep a lot of their extra things and Christmas decorations yeah but it's worked well during this season uh especially while we're building uh where they they had a place to keep some of those things but this is a great size shop there's a lot of seiling height as well as you're seeing some of that conventional steel frame that we're doing here of course all of our shop areas are uh conventional uh steel frame with uh the panels uh now you're seeing a little bit of that divided wall because we have a living area uh that ties into our attic space on this wall behind me but the rest of this is all of our standard steel construction that we use in these spaces now they added the insulated overhead doors uh as well to go with this insulated shop so here rather than having a conventional attic ladder access uh we actually have a wallmounted ladder access uh here with cuz you didn't have the space or they didn't want to use the space to build stairs or have the cost involved for that uh this was one way to do it and it it worked out pretty good all right well that pretty much concludes this tour for the North Lake Barn aminium we we hope you guys
