("Just A Girl" - No Doubt) βͺ Take this pink ribbon
off my eyes βͺ βͺ I'm exposed and
it's no big surprise βͺ βͺ Don't you think I know
exactly where I stand? βͺ βͺ This world is forcing me
to hold your hand βͺ βͺ 'Cause I'm just a girl,
oh, little old me βͺ βͺ Well, don't let me
out of your sight βͺ βͺ Oh, I'm just a girl,
all pretty and petite βͺ βͺ So don't let me
have any rights βͺ βͺ Oh, I've had it up to here βͺ βͺ The moment that
I step outside βͺ βͺ So many reasons
for me to run and hide βͺ βͺ I can't do the little
things I hold so dear βͺ βͺ 'Cause it's all those
little things that I fearβͺ βͺ 'Cause I'm just a girl,
I'd rather not be βͺ βͺ 'Cause they won't
Let me drive late at night βͺ βͺ Oh, I'm just a girl,
guess I'm some kind of freak βͺ βͺ 'Cause they all sit and
stare with their eyes βͺ βͺ Oh, I'm just a girl βͺ βͺ Take a good look at me βͺ βͺ Just your typical prototype βͺ βͺ Oh, I've had it up to here βͺ Oh, am I making myself clear? βͺ βͺ I'm just a girl βͺ βͺ I'm just a girl in the world βͺ βͺ That's all that
you'll let me be βͺ βͺ Oh, I'm just girl,
living in captivity βͺ βͺ Your rule of thumb
makes me worrisome βͺ βͺ Oh, I'm just a girl,
what's my destiny? βͺ βͺ What I've succumbed to
is making me numb βͺ βͺ Oh, I'm just a girl,
my apologies βͺ βͺ What I've become
is so burdensome βͺ Oh, I'm just a girl, lucky me βͺ βͺ Twiddle-dum,
there's no comparison βͺ βͺ Oh, I've had it up to βͺ βͺ Oh, I've had it up to βͺ βͺ Oh βͺ βͺ I've had it up to here βͺ
Damn, 20 years? I'm getting old...
I still blast No Doubt on my drive into work every single "Sunday Morning" .
I was 11. I totally remember this being all over the radio. I went to Harmony House with my older sister to buy the CD.
That was my second album I purchased. Such a great album altogether.
I have aspired to be Gwen during the Tragic Kingdom years for my entire life.
An amazing song, and gwen is just ageless.
I love this song because it's not about hating girls or saying all girls except for the special snowflakes are catty and stupid. It's about the stupid gender binary keeping men and women separate because we're seemingly so different, but we're not different at all.
Legit just went and downloaded this when I saw your post. Major nostalgia.
I heard this the other day in a coffeeshop! It played after a more current song about a a girl who misses her boo so much she compulsively binges and purges twinkies into her tub SO LETS DANCE IT OUT! I hate that song and then "Just a Girl" just cleansed everything:)
