Breakup song about a guy you're in a band with always seemed pretty bad ass to me
I feel like putting on my plastic stretch choker and Jnco jeans and going to hang with skateboarders. But I have to make dinner.
This song really holds a special place in my heart. It came out when I was in elementary school, so I didn't necessarily recognize that it was about a romantic relationship. But right when this song was on the radio every hour, my best friend told me she couldn't be friends with me anymore because she wanted to be friends with the popular girls instead.
And even though I was young, it was probably the most painful heartbreak I've ever gone through. I'm almost 30, and I'm even tearing up about it right now.
So when I heard the lyrics of this song when I was going through that, it really spoke to me on a deep level. I remember always crying when I heard this song.
"You and me, we used to be together. Everyday together, always. Now I really feel that I'm losing my best friend, I can't believe this could be the end."
I thought this song was written for me at the time.
Thanks OP for posting this and sending me on a memory trip.
I know I'm old because I recognize this song when they play it in the grocery store. Knowing the grocery store playlist by heart is truly the delimiter of middle age.
Also, Gwen Stefani is still hot, apparently. Good for her.
I sang this song back in my 4th grade talent show when I thought I was good at singing.
...I am not good at singing.
This track is definitely that bands finest work.
She was one of my first celebrity girl crushes. Even as an elementary school kid I knew this song was heartbreaking. Man I miss old school mtv
A guy I was in the Marines with worked on her mouth when he was a Dental assistant. He didn't talk a lot about it,which made me believe him more so. Lucky guy.....I really liked her in the collabo with the guy from Sublime when they sang "red". She was really my favorite in her Ska days.
Tragic Kingdom was a great album as a whole
