okay so my hairstyle is just walked in and fixed my hair and it made me think about whether or not so area is Eastern European country next to Romania and Greece it also happens to be the place of my birth so I was born in Sofia which is the capital of Bulgaria and I left when shortly after the wall I was about 1 or 2 years old and at the time because of communism it was really difficult to get out of the country so my dad actually had to book a flight to Cuba which was another communist country because you weren't allowed to travel anywhere other than communist countries and so when the plane stopped to refuel in Canada he got off and never got back on the plane and stayed in Toronto and that's how we emigrated and then my mom went she got a visitor's visa to visit some family in Michigan with my brother and I and then from Michigan once we landed we drove to the Canadian border with a six year old and a two year old in a suitcase and that's all we had to our name when we arrived in Canada and to represent Bulgaria we have roses here their difference between the bottom of the stem it's raining inside the school with the most crime everybody had major major issues with guns but instead of really lame non-star with my gosh turn left [Music] I was already at that point and let's be real if the legal drinking age was 19 in Canada I was I started like 16 or 17 and because I'm European I really started so I was a seasoned drinker by the time my 21st came but you wouldn't know it because it was a big night and I flew my entire cast off the show from Atlanta to Las Vegas then we shot because it's a vampire show we shot into the evenings usually we started lighting 5:00 p.m. on the Friday night and we didn't wrap the show that night until 7:00 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and our flight was at 8:30 the whole cast the writers everybody once we got on the plane we've been up all night and we decided to stay up on the flight and start celebrating my birthday by the time we landed we got into a car and we started the day celebration into the night stayed up that night as well and all of us got back on a plane on Sunday and then had to be on set Monday morning at 6:00 am but it was ok because the creators were with us so they could if we were tired the next day because they've been out with us partying the night before does that make weird noise okay so these are I believe real vampire dentures fun fact about sapphire teeth suck in your life a lot when they're in possibly close your mouth your tongue doesn't fit how do you want another fun fact except I am really afraid of blood you can imagine how to have to be around blood I had to fight the herb of vomiting and fainting every single trial to the scene when there was blood involved it was gross the perks of being a wallflower I had not read the book yet and I had a meeting with Stephen who wrote the book I was gonna be directing the film and it was a really great meeting and the script blew me away and ultimately working on this film was absolutely incredible meant so much to so many different people it's a very beautiful physical novel anyone under the age of 15 might not know what these are this is called the book it's made of paper back in the day us old folk we used to read these things we would sit before we had phones outside these were our friends and we followed them just as much as they followed us everywhere we went to the toilet to the park on airplanes I'm upset so a few months back I got an email about I'm upset music video by Drake and it would be a reunion for the cast members of Degrassi the next generation and obviously all of us were really excited to jump on board and be a part of this because it was over ten years since some of us had seen each other and it was really cool to see where everyone was in their life in their career and catch up because we were kids bright eyed kids the world is our oyster when we started the show and now we were now all of us are full-fledged adults and it was really fun to get everybody together one last time and shoot in the real always where we shot over ten years ago as kids we have some party Red Solo cups these are the actual cops that we used in the music video that day there was a real short for family and now last but not least fam is the new TV show that I'm filming right now for CBS and it's different it's live in front of an audience sothank friends but about family even though friends was kind of like family-oriented because they were the family that they chose to have around each other but ours is about family family and complicated relationships between my sister and I and my half-sister and I my new fiance on the show and his parents and the terrible relationship that I have with my father so bad I've told my dad I never want him to meet them because I'm afraid that if he means them you won't love me anymore so of course in the first episode a bunch of people show up and destroy this perfect little fantasy world that I've created for myself and to celebrate my return into television we have some remote controls that I will play with so I mentioned earlier that I was terrified about doing the show and that's mainly because I hadn't done theater or performed in front of a live audience in that capacity since I was in my performing arts high school in Toronto when I was really young so the first couple of episodes I was really scared I haven't been this nervous in a really long time so fam is a comedy and it's a shot in front of a live audience and you should have kind of like a play you have to memorize all script in the audience so if you make a mistake everybody is there to watch and see it there's a lot of pressure I'm a perfectionist and I hate making mistakes so I definitely was terrified the audience when you make a mistake they like seeing the mess ups ready for it my favorite part is coming back up again as you've seen in this interview so far I'm incredibly incredibly serious I never make fun of myself and I never do silly things right thank you for joining me on this sonica journey everyone's probably asleep right now you're welcome
