[Music] it's a glitzy World many want but few get a mansion overlooking the harbor designer clothes Shoes and Handbags jewelry that bedazzles and skiing holidays in Aspen Heck if you're into it it's a lifestyle that even comes with a younger husband but no this isn't an episode of The Real Housewives of Sydney it's the fairy tale Melissa caddock loved to flaunt rock star lifestyle it was the best of everything the beautiful cars the artwork the statues that do it was just gorgeous gorgeous stuff it was obvious she was living that lavish Life The High Life but it all came crashing down two years ago when the corporate watchdog raided the wealthy 49 year old's home I miss character are there any particularly high value items here so At All by doing just one day later Melissa suddenly disappeared a Vanishing act sparked not only a massive police investigation but also a money hand yes Melissa was missing but so too was 25 million dollars of investors money how do you stand there in front of someone and play a role have a facade where you care when all the while actually taking them to the cleaners what's the place is last name okay c-a-dd tonight we go behind the scenes with extensive footage of katic's husband Anthony Coletti explaining to police how his wife had mysteriously vanished so she's got no money no cards no and we have an exclusive personal tour welcome to five willangra Road Dover Heights Tom of the house Melissa and her family called home this is the kind of thing that really does sell a property it is absolutely fantastic isn't it so expansive and uninterrupted plus an intimate into Melissa's decadent collection of jewelry this is the one with 926 diamonds in it I just find that really difficult to get my head around how somebody could spend that much money on private jets lavish holidays to Aspen and the Lavish Way that she spent on jewelry and so forth that's really I think what and why this this matter continues to be of interest to people but I think we've got to remember that in this particular case there's a common victim here and that is the investor that trusted Melissa and gave their hard-earned dollars to invest foreign on the 13th of November 2020 had 12 24 PM two police officers arrive at the luxurious home of Melissa caddock and Anthony Coletti in Dover Heights part of Sydney's exclusive Eastern suburbs thank you what was your name sorry Anthony they're here because Coletti reported his wealthy wife missing after strangely waiting nearly 30 hours I just let you know my I've got my body on camera on it's just recording newly released police body camera footage gives us a front row seat to the unfolding drama is that her phone yeah so she's gone out with nothing like no keys and like no money no nothing we witness each moment of Anthony Coletti dealing with the idea his wife has completely disappeared I've contacted her direct network no one knows anything okay within minutes of arriving police officers are given an eye-opening introduction into the extravagant lifestyle Melissa haddick LED including a home visit from one of Sydney's most expensive Jewelers 5 p.m is the next thing what's happening in park Stefano Cantore has made her a one-off peace Jules wow huge in the city he's massive dick um the thing for Nicole Kidman's moral Rouge exactly Superstar Jewelers so he was going to come over here at five o'clock Anthony is also quick to explain to police about a private meeting with French fashion house Christian Dior booked for the very day Melissa vanished she had an appointment um in Dior which as you know she wouldn't miss in the world didn't have anything the police it's becoming a missing person call out like no other but there's more surprises ahead for them 31. what they're about to find out is just two days prior Australian federal police and Asic investigators had stood in this very house so are there any items listed on there that are on the premises yes yes what items are they um phones jewelry computers storage devices records okay and where are most of these located all over the house all over the house okay they're in the middle of a 12-hour raid on Melissa caddock we also want to seize any items of jewelry um that are currently being worn by Melissa it was the moment the high-flying investors World imploded what the investigators found in her ritzy Sanctuary was like an Aladdin's cave please belong to Anthony face belong to me yeah honestly Dior and Cartier watches glittering necklaces some worth nearly half a million dollars even though Melissa was talking down their worth what would you consider high value for each piece yeah um the necklaces 80 to 100. is there anything more expensive than those it's not but there was more Exquisite and expensive artwork hanging on every wall luxury sports cars in the garage and cash lots of it one thousand I miscarriage are there any particularly high value items here just in terms of now say storage this footage is the last confirmed sighting of Melissa caddock when Anthony colletti tells the visiting police officers two days later about the Asic rate he still seems naive about the entire event nor did he pick up that Melissa was upset about it but for the police it raises alarm Bells how did she sing last night look she was fine um obviously she was shaken because we've been through a massive deal yep and she's not guilty we've worked very hard for what we have and both very honest and it's completely out of character for her but she's clearly taken it bad I didn't see it the night before I just thought okay you know she was very loving and very normal this is his recollection of the last time he saw his wife what time did you say it was that you last saw her on Thursday night it would have been I would say probably 12 o'clock at night and by the time I'd woken up she was gone okay Anthony then explains Melissa's 15 year old son claimed that he heard his mum leaving at 5 30 the next morning less than 12 hours after investigators raided the house she left behind everything does she drive her as a vehicle she does her car seat she's gone on foot everything's here she's not taken a thing not a thing how tall is she like a little bit over five foot yeah any tattoos or anything like that she's got three tattoos we've got the same ones those ones there so we both got those but you're not gonna see yeah it's got shoes on yeah yeah thank you by the time they leave officers are concerned hey Anthony yes in return just 20 minutes later with a senior male colleague yeah mate I'm just a bit concerned can we go upstairs and you have a chest yeah foreign Trent Riley was one of the first police officers to speak to Anthony when he finally rang police to report his wife missing I just won't have found I don't care about all this money [ __ ] you can't replace the love of your life so if you could find out that would be a lot okay Anthony I'll be honest with you I'm a bit worried that you're not telling me the full story about what's going on this is the full story yeah like I said the story seems to be chopping and changing a little bit and I'm concerned that you know something more like I had it's the best policies I want to see right now to let us know because we want to find out I'm concerned where she is I want to find where she is good I need you to tell me everything and I need you to tell me the truth it's everything and you said earlier to me that she hasn't got any mental health issues or anything she doesn't this is completely out of character I've never done this once before never ever ever she's never missed an appointment like her her appointment is so detailed and and she makes every appointment like she that's this isn't her at all okay police then asked to see where Melissa slept I was here I woke up at quarter to six and she was gone yeah um and that's when he heard her walk out the door at 5 30 or close enough to okay all right um that yeah that this is the last place I've seen him so she didn't say anything to you at all not a thing not a thing which is uncharacteristic in itself usually she would you know say oh good morning or she'd give me a kiss or whatever she I I didn't get that Anthony shows offices a similar pair of Asics running shoes to what Melissa would have been wearing when she was last seen with the questions keep coming hmm my concerns are that you well I don't understand why you didn't ring the place yesterday I didn't think she was missing I mean the only reason I'm grilling now is because I'm very worried no I'm about to set a circles I understand and this is this is your job this is what you should be doing I get that police then do a cursory search of the house are they her shoes as well yes she's got a lot of shoes along the way they ask for a photo of Melissa no I don't want it on social we need to find her though that's look okay yeah if if you think it's going to help you do what we have to send off you at this stage but if you think if you think it's going to help I'm happy for you to do it okay they check out the cars her Mercedes and his souped-up Audi and that's her little black car isn't it [Music] that's your one yes nice and Melissa's office take all these doors locked up well you can't be too careful these days but let me tell you the fence went through everything yeah right every squeege you had no idea they were coming they just knocked on the door they rocked up at like God like 5 30 something in the morning and the wine cell packed with a 120 bottles of champagne and she hasn't even taken anywhere like I said if she has not taken her phone she ain't gonna take nothing that's her first time absolutely like I said she's diligent she's like a robot yeah calendar is called every appointment it's done then the piece the resistance the rooftop View good for New Years in 10 years too oh really um I was looking forward to a New Year's this year but I'm not so sure now okay it doesn't like I said it doesn't mean anything if you don't have the love of your life Anthony's demeanor during the police visit surprised officers with one later stating that Coletti had been evasive vague and inconsistent but he did get emotional at the very end if anything comes up please give us a call straight away because we need to find her straight away okay yeah all right if there's anything we can do for you let me know look I'm I'm okay like I'm fine like I said if you can find her that's the only thing you can do for me hopefully you can well Melissa's husband is talking to police about his vanished wife more than 40 investors are going about their day with no idea that the woman in charge of their superannuation and investment funds has disappeared when Bruce Gleason embarked on what became a two-year treasure hunt for Melissa caddick's fortunes you could never have predicted what lay ahead he's gone from not just Liquidator to now high-end jewelry spruker and real estate agent Gathering every last lucrative item the financial fraudster left behind and this is one we'd seen Melissa photographed him quite a few times as well yes with the ball gown yes today he's giving us an exclusive insight into Melissa katic's impressive jewelry collection which is about to go to auction can I pick that one up yeah let's pick that up wow and so you can see the weight in it it can really feel yeah 330 grams and I can't even count how many diamonds there are there from Bejeweled necklaces worth nearly 400 000 again I mean you can feel the weight or something like that look the weight with um the pieces that we've got in front of us is the thing that's most notable um and uh and the price tags yeah and the price tags yes two Exquisite bracelets you can see how cautious both of us are ones this is the one with 926 diamonds in it absolutely and Rings fit for royalty with more than 40 investors having lost 25 million dollars of their life savings Bruce has meticulously unraveled the financial scheme Katic conjured up so I mean this is important for you for getting money back for investors oh critically uh important these represent the next sort of class of assets because at the end of it uh this is all sort of about making a pool as big as possible for investors um Melissa would have spent you know in the vicinity of three million dollars on all those items on jewelry and designer clothes so Melissa purchased all of these with those funds that she's stolen from investors that's correct yes [Music] beautiful uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbor and the skyline that is a decent view absolutely fantastic isn't it with an eye-watering ticket price of around 10 million dollars the jewel in the crown for the Liquidator is Melissa caddock's luxury Eastern suburbs home purchased on a hill overlooking Sydney and the Harbor Bridge this is the kind of thing that really does sell a property it is the Marquee asset of what we're trying to deal with in this manner when Melissa disappeared she still owed four million dollars on the house but regardless the sale last weekend will provide the largest single lump sum going back to investors yeah there was all of that initial despair for investors is your hope now that they are going to get like I guess a decent chunk back of what they thought they'd lost oh look Tom we continued to work for the investors to work towards getting them a return and that's never lost sight in our focus and certainly in terms of the work uh that we've done in carefully sort of uh bringing this to Market that's always a key Focus for us [Music] spread to retrieve as much as they can what's almost worse for them is the deception and betrayal of Melissa caddock a woman they thought was their friend most of the investors were actually her nearest and dearest she even cruelly lied to her very own parents who trusted her with one million dollars to invest in property which their daughter then blew on fueling her expensive desires we were manipulated because it was Melissa who was our friend do you think she has a conscience no no Cheryl craft Reed had known Melissa haddock for 25 years but that meant nothing to the con woman who exploited their friendship targeting her and her wife Faith with an intricate scheme that sounded sophisticated and lucrative the couple believed in Melissa and invested their entire superannuation worth 800 000 Melissa's modus operandi was simple Target close contacts who trusted her and make out like she was doing them a favor she had a story you know and the story was that she'd worked for another company that her and two other people had built this program and it was such an amazing program that one of the superannuation houses boarded out but her share of that money was 86 million dollars and she was not allowed to work in the industry for 10 years which she didn't and the reason that she was coming back into the industry was only with her friends because you know I've made a lot of money I just want to help my friends out and so she was working for you out of the goodness of everything absolutely yeah that was one of her lines yes show Leslie developed a friendship with Melissa caddock after becoming her personal trainer as they grew closer Melissa ingratiated herself even further by offering up her designer dresses jewelry and handbags for the fitness fanatic to borrow go to the big wardrobe pick what I wanted nice matching handbag yep so that was the level of friendship that she was like come on in whatever's mine in the wardrobe you can borrow too yeah absolutely and the shallow generosity worked by the time Katic launched into her sales pitch Michelle and her partner Billy mcmore trusted her implicitly handing over their entire retirement savings our her thing was I like to help women to get them started oh and I guess what I happen to have seven spots to bring some more people in as people go she'd bring somebody else in so she gave the idea of scarcity effectively I've only got a couple of spots if you're quick you can invest with me when Melissa caddock suddenly disappeared in November 2020 the investors gave no thought to their money instead only worried about their friend it was like missing six days Sinister sort of implications and I think you you grieved for her yeah I did didn't suspect anything at that stage you were just worried about your friend worrying about my friend yeah it was empathy Melissa herself never reciprocated she happily lied to her friends while spending their life savings to feed her opulent lifestyle but when the investors learned about caddock's disappearance through the media unease set in slowly it dawned on them that perhaps their entire friendship with Melissa caddock was based on a Web of Lies so what happened when you called comsec about these Investments but I called them and told them their account number they then said there was no such account number and it's the first real point in time that I allowed myself to believe that everything Melissa told us was a lie When the Shine came off Melissa's Financial business Malabar was actually nothing more than a Ponzi scheme set up in 2013 to defraud investors the portfolios and monthly updates were fake the Investments simply didn't exist katik herself was even operating on a fraudulent Financial Services license her level of Deceit flabbergasted the Liquidator Bruce Gleason you do this work for long enough and you you think that nothing will surprise you but then you get a matter like this and the level of interest and the level of mystery has absolutely blowed me away when is the first time you've uncovered evidence from that Melissa was defrauding her clients we have gone back to the incorporation or the start of the company maliver and we believe that um almost immediately upon it starting that she was misusing investor funds you think she set up the business to defraud people there was certainly an intention to misuse investor funds put simply Melissa caddock was living off the retirement Savings of her friends and family every time she flaunted new artwork A Couture dress or bespoke jewelry it was an indication to investors that business was good but in fact it was the opposite just another dirty symbol of their money being blown when you look at the holidays when you look at the cars the home The Outfits up it was always Dior it was always Chanel it was a very well put together picture so if you could build a life and the quote that comes to turn for me is you know to make money you've got to look like you have money that was our hard-earned money that her that funded her lifestyle in a frivolous way that I think the part for me is shows from her point of view a lack of respect for all the things that we had to do to earn that money when Melissa caddock disappeared all that was left of the 25 million she'd stolen from investors was seven hundred thousand dollars in the seven years prior she'd been on 25 overseas holidays splurging 62 Grand on just one trip to Fiji even the penthouse she bought for her parents was being paid off using investors money what was the Betrayal just to go oh my God just the lies and the stories this lady spot I wonder if she just did it to everybody like that must have with the full picture now how do you describe her personality oh narcissist Evil Woman there was no no ended to Melissa caddock's lies and no one too close to her that she didn't Target including her father-in-law Roto Coletti who only agreed to speak out early last year if we didn't identify him luckily Roto didn't hand over his life savings to her but she happily took something else she needed from him his identity have you ever done any work for Melissa's business Malibu absolutely not I've never been asked but I never would do it anyway you know your signature turns up in some of her business's documents shouldn't just does that look like your signature foreign if you see my signature is very distinctive and that is not it not mine Bruce Gleason is first and foremost a money man but he's now also come to understand Melissa's personality better than most what sort of psychological traits does it take to to try and pull off a scam like this I think somebody that is is very charismatic is a key trait there's um you know a level of uh self-confidence and also a level of invincibility I'm fascinated to know did Melissa sense that the net was closing in or were there no telltale signs that she was prepping for the end of all of this I think classic with people that operate Ponzi schemes Tom they never think that the scheme will end um there's as I said this level of invincibility that it will just keep going on but history shows us that all Ponzi schemes fail at some point in the aftermath of her disappearance following caddock's Wicked money Trail was hard enough but trying to find the fraudster herself was proving to be an impossible task why did it take 30 hours for her husband to report her missing New South Wales police searched for the luxury loving Melissa caddock went far and wide but the person that they believed could help them more than anyone else was the one closest to her her husband and former hairdresser Anthony Coletti he was interviewed numerous times by investigators but didn't shed much light on her whereabouts at one stage on the Thursday Did you ring Melissa's mother or the father no I only called her off my phone as I was supposed to be doing her yes I was supposed to be doing it on a Wednesday which I postponed on Thursday which I'd postponed until a week later and obviously everything unraveled last night in this interview a frustrated detective Sergeant Michael keiner is digging in about why Coletti didn't tell family and friends that Melissa had vanished the day after the Asic raid you didn't ring Mum and find out whether the Melissa was a I rang Adam because he's more onto that kind of stuff he's um at that point I hadn't told him that Melissa was missing as I wanted an honest opinion from him and same thing with her friend Scott little because she knows got them at all they had worked together for 20 odd years okay why did you they were close friends okay what did you think Melissa would be with Scott Littleton as he was a close friend um I just thought you know if she's blowing up a bit of steam maybe she's gone for a beer with him but I just wanted his honest opinion at that point as I did with Adam or a community about what so I just don't know to wear that hip was with Melissa or not okay what do you have to ask you because I didn't want that I didn't want them to worry at that point number one and number two I wanted an honest opinion from and you weren't almost yourself exactly to them yes all right for police the biggest unknown was why it took the husband of a missing woman nearly 30 hours before he reported it to authorities detective inspector Gretchen Atkins headed up the New South Wales police task force into caddock's disappearance when she gave this interview it was two months into the investigation that 30 hour delay has really made your job 30 times harder hasn't it yes yes that's uh it's just expanded our our time window um yeah exponentially and it's that extra time you have to piece together it's hard enough with any missing person you know who had an extra 30 hours it's a lot of time when you're investigating in case like this I mean do you actually sit down with Anthony and say you took a long time to report Melissa missing are you covering for her tracks we need to know right now yeah we've we've had some pretty tough conversations with with Anthony as to what's happened and from what he said was he thought she just might have gone somewhere and would would come back [Music] we are asking the community to help bring Melissa home that is all seven days after her disappearance Anthony Coletti and Melissa's brother Adam Grimley fronted the media in a desperate plea for help Melissa please let us know that you're safe and sound we love you this is out of character we just need the communities of Australia to come together to help bring her home would you say Anthony's been proactive in the missing person's operation I'd say he's doing what he can to assist us when we ask for help um I think he's struggled to be be what you would expect to be be proactive he's still trying to I think a little bit come to terms with what might have actually might have happened um anything we've asked for he'll give us but um yeah from that I sort of gathered that in a normal missing person's case the family is out there they're doing everything they can really you know yelling from the rooftops trying to draw attention to this Anthony perhaps hasn't fit the usual bill for you guys yeah he is probably slightly more restrained than that especially with contacting us he isn't always ringing ringing us which is is different to what we were normally saying Anthony Colletti's father Roto conceded to us back in March 2021 that his son might not be everyone's cup of tea but he defended Anthony believing he had no idea what his devious wife was up to After experiencing ugly social media attacks Roto would only speak if we hit his identity do you think your son Anthony was capable of helping Mastermind a pot like this well no I don't Anthony's a hairdresser a damn good hairdresser but I don't believe he has the capacity to know what a financial scheme is I don't think he could have been in it at all or known what was going on even if he didn't know what was going on he would believe everything he was told back then Roto told us that Anthony still believed his wife was innocent do you think Anthony's me in denial I believe he is in denial delusional denial um he doesn't want to believe that you know the woman he loves and married is capable of it but unfortunately the proof's stacking up so much against her if that was made for this why isn't it happening Melissa caddick and Anthony Coletti were an unusual match the much younger man who became a DJ once they got married was originally caddock's hairdresser waiting Melissa's friends found the pairing strange maybe it was just good for her ego he was the Toy Boy she was the money spinner she was more dominant out of the relationship she wore the pants yeah without a doubt Anthony Coletti has become an integral character in this story and people have become almost as interested in him as they were in his wife [Music] as the journalist who broke the story of Melissa haddick's disappearance back in November 2020 Sydney Morning Herald Chief investigative reporter Kate mcclimont has remained obsessed with the mystery she has her own theory about Melissa's marriage to Anthony and why he took 30 hours before reporting his beloved wife missing so you would think in a normal person that that would be enough when she went missing that morning to call but it's interesting you know looking back now it seems that in that relationship Melissa caddick was the controlling personality as one of the friends told us she wore the pants so it may well have been that he was afraid to do the wrong thing so in fact he did nothing without any real evidence of when Melissa caddock vanished and which way she went the police investigation stalled but then three months after she disappeared the mystery was upended with an extraordinary Discovery a shoe was located on the shoreline of the ordana national park within that shoe were the remains of a human foot foreign disappeared a shocking Discovery washed up on a remote New South Wales South Coast beach 400 kilometers from Sydney a running shoe incredibly containing the human remains of the missing woman it was the most bizarre albeit grisly plot twist yet in a mystery that by now had captivated the entire nation it's a mystery and a mystery every time that you think you're going to get an answer it throws up more questions 60 Minutes special investigator and former New South Wales police detective Gary jubilin visited the beach soon after the discovery yeah and it's not unusual for an investigation to get the Breakthrough like this something something to get a left field because you'd have to describe this situation certainly out of left field do you think there's any chance at all that Melissa is still alive I think it's a reasonable assumption to say that she's deceased but yeah you can't exclude any possibility the idea that Melissa caddock or a medical expert hacked off the foot is far-fetched but at the time the gruesome finding threw up all sorts of possibilities including the notion of murder I think with the nature of the crime that Melissa has um allegedly committed it would be very difficult for someone else not to be aware of those activities or perhaps be an accomplice be actively involved in involved in that if there is an accomplice I see that as a potential motive for someone that might have um yeah bought harm to Melissa former friend Michelle Leslie lost her entire superannuation to the fraudster she now expects the unexpected when it comes to Melissa caddock when you heard the news about Melissa in the discovery oh my first reaction is it's only a foot where's the rest of the body is there cement evidence to say she's actually dead and then when I looked back at it and then saw that it was only a fort I've gone [Music] she's capable of anything but what do you mean by she's capable of anything well she could still be alive maybe it's just something that she wanted to put out there to calm everything down if you find a fort that means that she must be dead but who would know I mean it does feel extremely unlikely but you honestly think she's capable of throwing out a red herring like that absolutely yep how did Melissa caddick's foot come to be separated from the rest of her body and where was the rest of her body Sydney Morning Herald Chief investigative reporter kaymaclaymont has followed some intricately woven mysteries in the past but the gruesome discovery of Melissa's foot was something even sheep could never have predicted how could you possibly have thought it was going to be that her fort had washed up I mean this is just if you were a scriptwriter you'd be drummed out of the writing room for this you know really bizarre development in the story look it is a story that keeps on giving and it seems that there is no end to the interest in this story people stop me almost every single day saying um you know their theories or what do I think and I recently even got an email from a 10 year old girl who is obsessed with the Melissa caddick Case so I think you know when you're getting messages from 10 year olds you know with their own theories you think this is just a cracking Story and there's a lot riding on me more recently Melissa caddick's Colonial inquest has delved into what happened to the con woman for Kate it's raised even more questions than answers especially when it comes to the way police investigated the case it was only after Anthony coletti's press conference on the 20th of November at Bondi police station that officers went back to his house to do a search and search took 15 minutes they didn't keep an open mind they were of the impression that this woman Melissa caddick had gone hiding that she hadn't harmed herself and nor had her husband harmed her so because they seem to have had tunnel vision they didn't explore the other areas of inquiry so I think that's what the inquest has been looking at why didn't you look at other things such as Anthony Colletti's inconsistent statements didn't they raise alarm Bells with you Anthony Colletti's constantly changing stories and confusion in the coroner's Court witness box was at times bizarre at one point he exclaimed the way you talk is not the way my mind works I've never seen anything like Anthony colletti in the witness box giving evidence at the inquest the questions and we're not talking hard questions you know what did you do what did you then say and he would say I I'm sorry I can't follow what you're saying I don't understand he wasn't being grilled did you do it it wasn't anything like that is Bella Allen investigator at Asic equally strange was his obsession with Asic investigator Isabella Allen ever since his wife's disappearance Anthony colletti has made Isabella his number one enemy there's a Louis Vuitton watch in a safe located in the bed one not just how serious Coletti blamed Isabella and her team for his wife's disappearance alleging they were abusive during the Asic raid at their home also claiming they refused to give food and water to Melissa he even wrote a full album ranting about the raid [Music] from a large corporation to interrogate our family for 14 hours she has become the unlikely Nemesis in Anthony coletti's life and in fact his behavior became so alarming he was going to asic's headquarters and sticking up posters you know basically saying Asic equals woman Slaughter rather than manslaughter and singing his songs that Isabella Allen actually applied for an apprehended violence order because they were fearful that Anthony coletti's Behavior were was escalating during the inquest the Asic investigator called Coletti out Isabella Allen's evidence in court was basically we treated her with respect somebody was with her all day she was allowed to go anywhere that she'd liked and I think one of the most extraordinary pieces of evidence was in fact at one stage Melissa caddock was filing her nails and then mid-afternoon she said she was going for a nap but with all the drama at the inquest so far the mystery as to what happened to Melissa caddock remains if we were hoping coming to this inquest to get definitive answers think people are going to be sadly disappointed while the inquest continues at the end of the month seems one person making Headway is Liquidator Bruce Gleason who's getting closer and closer to organizing a Payday of sorts for the more than 40 investors who lost their life savings Melissa caddock made deception an art form everything about her was fake she operated under a fraudulent license she lied to her family and friends and she used their money to create a ritzy Mirage of wealth and Splendor after two years caddock Liquidator Bruce Gleason believes he's almost at the end of the complicated money Trail apart from selling her house and the upcoming auction of Calyx Jewels gowns and collectible artwork Bruce Gleason has also discovered another hidden treasure is a shared portfolio which is quite significant at the moment we're confident that there will be quite a healthy return to investors I know you can't give me specifics in terms of actual dollar amounts but a significant amount um we believe it will be significant there's some still some challenges along the way that we've got to resolve and certainly if if they can be resolved then you know that will enable that return um to be at a quite healthy amount but when it comes to the con woman's own husband Anthony Coletti Gleason simply can't help will Melissa's husband Anthony get a share of any of those assets he's not a creditor of the company or of of Melissa that we can establish so we don't see him as part of that picture at this point so as it stands Anthony gets nothing as I said we don't see him as a creditor [Music] the eventual Financial return from the liquidation will be too little too late for investors Michelle Leslie and Billy mcmore they've had to sell their Sydney home and start a new life in taree on the New South Wales mid-north Coast and we thought this is a good time to you know exit stage left a catalyst Melissa the catalyst so she's given us an opportunity to reinvent our life for Cheryl craft Reed and her partner Faye it's been a long and difficult two years [Music] I think one thing that's important to get clear is um you know some of the early coverage of this suggested you know it's all these High Flyers who'd lost their money it's just no honest workers like you guys are hardly millionaires no far from it and um I worked my last couple of years working pretty hard to put it by a little bit more so that had a comfortable retirement I wasn't relying on the government two years on for Melissa caddock Vanishing and police are no closer to understanding The Mystery of the missing con woman her family and friends the hard just as baffled I have incredible guilt because Faye was hesitant I dragged us into this I made the decision Fey accommodatingly went yes to it I just didn't pay the attention that I should have because it was Melissa because she'd been with us for in our family so I have guilt but I'm not going to compound that guilt by being a victim so um you know that piece itself is another substantial piece in the collection it's amazing like even just the smallest one on here you know most people would love to own that let alone let alone the whole entirety of it just around your neck standing here looking at millions of dollars in gold diamonds and
