It may be very much a product of the 80s in many ways, but Yes (Prime) Minister remains terribly relevant - and terribly funny - in a lot of other ways.

WARNING: BRIT BONG RANT

It's weird to me that the conservative party is seen as the military loving party despite every major cutback and unrecoverable downgrade of the military has happened under them.

They tried to replace the RAF with missiles in the 60's and decimated the local aerospace industry.

We had to scrap together what we could for the Falklands because Thatcher decided to scrap all the non-helicopter carriers. I guess we still got it done but it shouldn't have been so hard, ideally we should have never been seen as weak enough for the argies to try it in the first place.

Even now with the integrated defence review it seems like a joke that we'd demand to be taken seriously as a military (especially against china) with such pathetic numbers, but i guess borris got some RC Drones from Tescos so it balances out.
