NEW Glock Mod. 45! (No, It's Not Just a Black 19X)

hey guys James get with tfbtv today glock dropped three brand new Glocks they should be in stores maybe today maybe tomorrow definitely in the next week but you have the Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS the Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS I did a separate video on both of those guns but we're talking about the Glock 45 no not 45 acp the Glock model 45 what is the Glock 45 well obviously it's a brand new Glock kinda and I know you guys remember my Glock 19 X video you all watched it and you loved it right the Glock 19 X is basically a Glock 17 frame with a Glock 19 slide and it's functionally the gun that Glock submitted to MHS for the modular handgun system competition the Glock 19 X up into this point isn't a true Genet Slyke a Gen 4 and a half it didn't adopt all of the Gen 5 modifications that you've seen in Glocks newest crop of guns also thus far the Glock 19 X has only been available in fde or flat dark earth and sometimes you have people that just want a flat black Glock don't say that 5 times fast but the Glock 19 X generated a lot of controversy whenever it was released to the civilian market and that's because you had people that said hey Glock you got this backwards we're all really comfortable with the Glock 19 frame it fits 90 percent of us it's your most popular frame size out there but you know would be kind of cool as if we could get a Glock 19 frame that's easily concealable with the Glock 17 upper so you get the additional ballistic superiority of the longer barrel and Glock 17 and you also get the longer sight radius from the Glock 17 so a lot of people wanted to see it go the other way and got social media it was a witch hunt you would think that the 19 X was the worst gun to ever come out there was a lot of quality memeing going on after the 19 X was released and I got to go on record I hope Glocks watching this video and I got to say that to an extent I agree as a concealed carry guy I really would like to see the abbreviated frame because the frame the butt is really the hardest part to conceal if you're carrying barreled down while the barrel so much it's a lot easier to conceal an inch of barrel than it is an inch but so I would have liked to have seen that and hopefully that's in the cards for the future but it doesn't matter what I think or what everybody else thinks the memes block sold like a hundred thousand of these guns over the summer and they confided me said hey look this parks into our expectations we just released the civilian market we thought it'd be kind of cool but they have been flat selling out of them so you got people that like the 19x but you saw of your holdouts or you got your people that want to have the Gen 5 improvements a true Jenna the 19 X which is kind of its own model well Glock listen and here you are with the block 45 that's right the Glock 45 is essentially a Glock 19 X that has been Gen plus a couple of other improvements we've already talked about what the 19 X is now the Gen 5 mods you guys are familiar with them you watched my other videos on the Gen 5 Glocks whenever they were released you've got the RTF texture with the omission of the finger grooves who've got the ambidextrous slide release the N DLC coating the beveled and flared magazine well you got the Glock marksman barrel which is capable of putting up 4-inch groups at 50 yards and the Gen 5 is the most reliable block of all time and lab conditions it had the longest mean rounds between stoppages of any Glock ever so now you've got the most reliable block of all time you've got all the Gen 5 mods and you've got it in the Glock 19 X package which has been surprisingly a good seller and I guess if I had to point out the main in my opinion the main improvement of the 19 X versus the Glock 17 you save a quarter product you save four hours we didn't get that abbreviated slide the Glock 19 X or the Glock 45 versus the Glock 17 you save yourself a few ounces of weight but here the big sticking points and one of the most common complaints especially when the Gen 5 was released one of the most common complaints was hey why do we still not have front slide serrations now me personally I don't see the big deal with front slide serrations but a lot of you out there were real push inform you and there's this massive third-party market of people selling block slides with front slide serrations and those things aren't cheap I'm not sure if you'd notice those things aren't cheap so Glock listening to its consumers added front slide serrations removed the finger grooves from the Gen 5 and after the Gen 5 came out a lot of people complained because the Halfmoon cut to make it easier to remove your magazine a lot of people complained about that because they said it reduced the usable area of the front strap in other words having that Halfmoon cutout that was a little bit of front strap that you couldn't grip so with the Glock 45 they've removed that Halfmoon cutout and now you have access to the full front grip and speaking of the front strap the Glock 19 X I don't know if you guys know this or not but there's actually like a little grip insert the way the grip is contoured won't work with Gen 5 clock magazines and that's because of the base plate as you see the Gen 5 Glock magazine base plates kind of curve up a little bit and when you try to seat that magazine and I know because I did this during a Glock operator course you try to seat that 17 round Glock 17 magazine into the 19 X it'll feel like you've got an affirmative lock up it'll feel like that magazines in and you'll go to shoot and nothing will happen and it even takes you a second to kind of figure it out so I'm glad to see that now you've got a 19 X in the Glock 45 that's compatible with the Gen 5 magazines guys here's your official spec sheet from Glock as you can see here functionally you've got a gun with dimensions borrowing from the Glock 17 the Glock 19 almost functionally identical to the 19 X of course you have a 17 plus 1 round capacity in the Glock 45 those front slide serrations that's really killer I think that's the biggest improvement and I hope we're going to see this improvement to all Gen 5 Glocks in the future hey maybe all the Gen fives will become glock Gen 5 and a half's with front slide serrations that'd be pretty cool huh I took the Glock 45 out to the range with my buddy tfbtv precision rifle guru joel wise i loved it he loved it again for concealed carry I really would like to see the opposite I'd like to see the 19 frame with the 17 slide but really you don't even need that got the 19 mos go watch my video on that I think the 19 mos is as good as it gets and for concealed carry it's ideal so in conclusion the Glock 45 is a really smart move from Glock what it says is hey we're listening to you the consumer they sold a hundred thousand 19 X's so they know that the consumers like the 19 slide sitting on top of the 17 frame but they also know that there's this huge third-party market out there selling slides with forward slide serrations and that's one of the main complaints with the Gen 5 was the lack of those forward slide serrations so boom now you got it also one of the big complaints with the Gen 5 frame me personally I don't have a problem with it but a lot of people didn't like that front Halfmoon cutout that kind of limited the grip area of the Glock 17 and 19 Gen 5 so they removed that for the Glock 45 you're looking at I'm anticipating somewhere between 600 and 650 bucks street price on these guns I don't know the MSRP yet by the time
