ITSELF KNOWN LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS. IT'S A LEVEL THREE RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND, VERMONT, NEW HAMPSHIRE, MAINE. COLD FRONT, THOUGH, IS GOING TO BE THE CULPRIT FOR THESE STORMS THAT COULD BRING SEVERE WEATHER ALL THE WAY THROUGH PITTSBURGH, CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA, AND DOWN THE 95 CORRIDOR. THE FURTHER SOUTH YOU GO, THE MORE ISOLATED THE RISK. MUCH BETTER COVERAGE HERE ACROSS THE INTERIOR, NORTHEAST INTO THE COASTLINE. AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT, THAT LEVEL THREE THREAT SOMETHING WE DON'T WANT TO LOSE SIGHT OF. PRETTY HIGH CONFIDENCE HERE. THAT AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING, AS THESE STORMS START TO FIRE UP, THEY'RE GOING TO TAP INTO AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS RICH WITH MOISTURE. AND YOU'LL FEEL THAT TOO, THAT MIXED IN WITH THE HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY IN THE UPPER 90S. THIS IS ALSO THE REASON WHY IT FEELS LIKE THE TRIPLE DIGITS THAT AIR YOU CAN WEAR IS GOING TO HELP FUEL UP THESE STORMS. LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS SNEAKING RIGHT ALONG THE NORTHERN BORDER WITH CANADA. AND SO THERE'S A BIT OF AN ADDED TWIST IN THE ATMOSPHERE, ESPECIALLY ACROSS THIS REGION, VERMONT, NEW HAMPSHIRE, MASSACHUSETTS, A LITTLE FARTHER NORTH THAN WE WOULD TYPICALLY SEE IT IN THIS REGION. SO WE DON'T WANT TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE TORNADO RISK TODAY. PLENTY OF STORM ENERGY, BREAKS OF SUNSHINE THROUGH THOSE CLOUDS, ESPECIALLY THIS EARLY DAY HEATING IS GOING TO FUEL UP THESE THUNDERSTORMS. THEY DO BECOME MORE WIDELY SCATTERED AS WE GET INTO THE SECOND HALF OF THE AFTERNOON. WIND IS ALSO A BIG THREAT HERE. WE COULD SEE THESE STORMS MAY BE ISOLATED IN NATURE TO START BECOME A LINE THAT PUSHED THROUGH OUR MAJOR METROPOLITAN AREAS THROUGH THIS EVENING. BOSTON, NEW YORK, PHILADELPHIA. AND THAT'S WHERE WE COULD SEE SOME OF THE MORE DAMAGING THREATS. LEVEL TWO RISK FOR FLOODING ON THE NORTHERN TIER OF MAINE, WHERE WE'VE SEEN THIS ONGOING RAIN LEVEL ONE RISK FOR ANY DOWNPOURS, TRAINING STORMS. WE'VE GOT A COUPLE ROUNDS THROUGH THE DAY TODAY THAT COULD MAYBE SPELL SOME TROUBLE. THE MOST OF THE RAIN WILL GET RUNG OUT ACROSS THE NORTHERN TIER OF THE REGION, CLOSER TO THAT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AS IT SKIRTS ITSELF RIGHT OFF TO THE EAST ALONG THE CANADIAN BORDER, ABOUT AN INCH OF RAIN, A POSSIBILITY ABOUT A HALF AN INCH IN OTHER AREAS. TIMING OUT THAT TORNADO RISK, THOSE ISOLATED DISCRETE STORMS THAT YOU SEE THROUGH PLYMOUTH IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON. THIS IS ACROSS NEW HAMPSHIRE. THAT'S THAT TORNADO RISK, THAT SUPERCELL THAT CAN TAKE IN THIS ENTIRE ENVIRONMENT. IF A WARNING GOES OFF, IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW YOUR SAFETY ZONE, GETTING TO A SAFE PLACE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. AS I MENTIONED, IT'S A COUPLE ROUNDS OF STORMS INTO THE OVERNIGHT BEFORE FINALLY THAT COLD FRONT WILL KICK THE COAST AND IT USHERS IN A BIG CHANGE FOR US GOING INTO THE START OF THE WEEK. FINALLY, A BIT OF A REPRIEVE FROM THE HEAT. SUNDAY NIGHT ON INTO MONDAY MORNING. LOOK AT THE TEMPERATURE DROP 60S FOR BURLINGTON, VERMONT 70S FOR ALBANY, NEW YORK, UP INTO THE CAPITAL REGION OUT TO THE WEST, NEW YORK CITY. 84 DEGREES IS GOING TO FEEL GORGEOUS COMPARED TO THE REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE
