New Dark Souls The Board Game Expansions Coming Up!

[Music] nick here today we're going to be talking about the future of dark souls the board game we had some updates uh during the gen con 2020 where steam forged games talked a little bit about the game so today we're gonna be discussing about it and some theories i have about what could be coming next on my channel you can find more video game and board game unboxing as well as reviews and how to play videos so if you're new to my channel welcome and consider subscribing because i have some really nice projects coming up if you were there during the kickstarter days the executioners chariot and menace father of the abyss mega bosses were the last expansions promised for retail and they came out this year the executioner's chariot was amazing it came out with extra enemy miniatures new level 1 to level 3 encounters and a very nice two-stage fight and a nice board then we had manus which came with a huge miniature and a clever use of the shaft mechanics i did an unboxing and review of both mega bosses and if you are interested you can find the links in this video's description before the release of manus on the beginning of october steam forged games did a stream to talk about the future of their games at gen con 2020 which is a big board game convention among other product announcements richard luxem founder and ceo at steam forged games took a few minutes to talk about dark souls showing manos's miniature and the box for the first time as well as announcing some news about the game let's check the announcement dark souls dance of the board game one of our most well prettiest most popular titles and you know we couldn't be happier to have been champions of this product and i think the board game is you know the amount of people that purchase this game and play it and the feedback we get about it is you know it really does highlight that dance all day foster people which is great someone's i think already in chat has mentioned about what about the world and then the two 2018 kind of hints that we did into our previous kickstarter well we're obviously gonna be working on dart souls for for many years to come and we've got a couple of you know a couple of very important years coming up for dark souls we have new products arriving i cannot talk more than that because i'll get shot um quite simply but we have got some exciting stuff and some real refreshing updates uh to our ranges so i think people are gonna be excited um you know we've got so much cool stuff coming and it's uh yeah it's gonna be a really good year coming up and you know what we go to 2020 2021 uh it's gonna be really good the first thing we can see right away is a concept art of the painted world of ariamis from dark souls one he hints it at being a teaser so i believe we can almost certainly confirm that the painted world expansion is coming up next probably on 2021 so what could be the size of this expansion are we getting new enemies bosses updated rules everything i say from now on are just theories so take it with a grain of salt if we look at the painted world in the video game we could have new enemies like the crow demon the engorged zombie the phalanx the snow rat and the heavy knight a new boss priscilla and maybe the dead dragon as a boss or a mini boss new level 1 to level 3 encounter cards and a lot of new treasures this seems reasonable and would fit the same category as dark root and iron keep expansions but honestly i believe we could have even more than that in the last few years we have seen a lot of publishers doing new kickstarter campaigns selling more beefier expansions like awakened realms and nemesis expansion so maybe we can get a bigger expansion than ever was in this case they could do an expansion that encompasses not only the painted world of ariamis but also ashes of ariendo which has the same theme and it's a dark souls 3 expansion in the case we have a beefed up expansion we could have new tiles representing the painted world as well as some other enemies like the millwood knight the farron corvian and the birch woman as well as new mini bosses and main bosses like the grave tender and great wolf and sister fried and father ariendo which could be a duo boss battle like ornstein and smoke but i believe that if they do a kickstarter like this they could even go further and just like the nemeziz expansion frost haven and terraforming mars they could also have bundles where you can buy the vanilla game as well as the expansions released so far including reprints of the three exclusive kickstarter mega bosses the four kings the old iron king and the guardian dragon that would be amazing and it would help people getting these expansions for a reasonable price i do believe they could also have some rule updates coming in this expansion at the end of the streaming they had the q a where at some point one of the users asked about the rule update in the game let's see what rich said that cells are we gonna update the rules for dark souls um you know because we've seen a lot of fan made rules things like that as i said before we've got some exciting new products for dark souls being released and you know when we can release new products we can always look at um how to always enhance the range i think that's best the best way of saying nothing i would like to see some updates for loot progression as well as some other ways of playing the game without having to grind for crazy in the encounters many people use the double souls half spark which solves a lot of problems but they can come up with some more interesting solutions another major rules update could be having attack variations for each enemy that you fight similar to how they do in gloom haven where every time an enemy attacks they flip a card and some modifiers are played making enemies less predictable and every encounter more unique if the painted world becomes a big expansion they could release other minor expansions through the year like one focused on the catacombs having the annoying skeleton wheel skeleton beast bone tower and needle as a mega boss they could also have one focusing on izalith featuring the copra demon as a mini boss quilag as a main boss centipedes and other enemies featured in the area for mega bosses they could add the other anolondo gods like gwyn and gwyndolin and a dual fight with lothric and lorien which could be a multi-stage fight as well as the other lords of cinder like yom the giant and the farren legion but personally one of my favorite mega boss battles could be against the nameless king on a two-stage fight first with the dragon and then by himself so that sounds exciting huh so we can confirm that they are going to be doing more content for the board game we have the news about the painted world or the possible teaser for the painted world and because they talked about having more products in the upcoming years so we can almost certainly confirm we're gonna probably have more mega bosses and more mid-size expansions as well so well now i would like to hear from you like what what do you think about it do you A new board game remake to fix a couple rules with the base game or a twin princes, Gael, or nameless king expansion

I did not watch the video, but I would be much more hyped by new tiles, treasures, regular ennemies, some André and Maiden figures... rather than bosses and even more Megabosses. And some minibosses would be cool too.
