so hello welcome back to the channel welcome back to porsche perth and as the smile on my face would suggest today is a very very special day indeed the last time we were stood here we were honored to be collecting the keys to the 992 turbo s but today while that was a childhood story and a childhood dream today is a story of color you see the car that we've managed to spec today i was turned down on two maybe three times not actually getting the allocation of the car but the allocation of the colour once again this is a color i spotted years ago always dreamt of having a porsche in this color asked several different dealerships got turned down but today thanks to porsche perth and ali who works here we've managed to get it over the line so without further ado i think we should take you inside take off the cover and introduce you to this wonderful pts 992 gt3 uh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so here we are uh smile glands still absolutely tweaking so behold uh our new signal yellow porsche 992 gt3 massive massive thank you to ali and porsche perth for making this happen honestly still getting a pts slot on a gt3 seems incredibly difficult but we've gotta done it we've managed to pull off the signal yellow which i've been trying for years to apply to a 911. it's finally here it feels surreal i almost can't believe the words leaving my mouth so we should probably give you a walk and talk of the spec now let's just discuss the color as i mentioned it's called signal yellow i've got a swatch here because i thought we like setting a spot of context on this channel because anyone familiar with racing yellow which is porsche's standard yellow this is how different the swatch of yellow actually is so it's kind of more of an orangey yellow i mean in isolation looks yellow when you get standard porsche racing yellow next to it means look at it it's a completely different color so it's got a like a sort of hybrid orangey yellow hue to it it is a pts option which is a paint to sample option and it puts a couple more months on the waiting time of the car now then specific features we went for as much contrasting black on the options as we could because the 992 generation gt3 comes with quite a lot of black contrasting areas as standard starting with the front splitter here there's a vast area of black contrasting panel all around the radiator and air intake so where did we start was with the matrix led headlights now these are basically the same lights as on the turbo s they sort of you know turn with the wheel because we expect the um front axle lift option they're also self leveling lights meaning when you lift the front axle the whole nose lifts up and the lights automatically level themselves out so you can make sure you can see getting out of that multi-story car park if it's dark so this is where that sort of black contrasting theme starts as well as with these vents here which are also trimmed in black now wheels we went for a satin black finish once again just to tie it in with the rest of the finish on the car now there was an option to have the underside of the wing mirror also painted in matching signal yellow but because one kind of fundamental design characteristic of this car is contrasting black parts we wanted to leave these parts exposed and then as a optional extra which was way down there on the options lift we've got the gt3 indicator just there now quickly while we're down here let's touch on the brakes now these are the optional upgraded porsche carbon ceramic brakes these are specifically developed for the new gt3 i did wonder when porsche introduced the uh 10 piston caliper brakes on the turbo s i wondered are they going to apply it to this car but lo and behold porsche being porsche developed a specific application for gt3 now fun fact on the carbon ceramic brakes they save 17.7 kilograms over the standard steel brakes that is a big weight saving per corner so the unsprung mass advantage uh just shaving weight out of the car it's brilliant uh very much looking forward to having those embedded in and trying it out on track this is the other thing i would say about this car whereas our manual gt3 is very much a road car we're going to provide an update on that soon because it's just clicked over 40 000 miles this has been spec to be used on track we're going to use it really hard to hopefully track it around europe nurbo ring spa etc but until then until travel's a little bit easier let's hit the tracks in the uk and we'll show you why it's a track specific configuration when we check out the inside shortly now continuing on the contrasting black theme behold the carbon fiber roof insert um aesthetically it's probably the most advantageous but this does shave one kilogram over the standard steel roof and it looks brilliant and also once again ties in with the blackness of the optional extras on the car now i opted for privacy glass in the rear so they are tinted black the rear windscreen is really really black i think at some point we'll probably get the guys at mvn to do a legal tint on the side windows just to tie that in a little bit more now then for me it's all about the rear of this car the sculpture just check this out now a porsche exclusive manufacture option was the uh smoked or black tail lights to add to the overall theme of the car as is the blacked out porsche logo here with black gt3 indicator on the rear and then finally as per the front we have the branded jww four dot custom number plate now speaking of number plates we just so happen to have here an entirely new addition to the jww range mr 04 jww what could that possibly be for what if i told you that today we're not collecting one but two cars more on that in a minute now while we're talking about aero in a minute we're going to take it inside and get it up on the ramp so we can show you the revised arrow of the new gt3 but fun fact there are two aero settings on this car there is showroom mode which is in right now which is your typical road driving mode and then there's full attack mode and with an allen key you can adjust the angle of attack of the rear wing and then you can adjust the angle of attack of something on the front axle now when you're when you adjust that you would adjust the picture front and rear um the increase in downforce is 150 percent over the previous generation gt3 now just before we dive into the interior of the car let's just talk about the fundamentals of the new 992 gt3 so it's over 500 horsepower it's around about 510 brake horsepower running a naturally aspirated flat six four liter engine uh we went for the twin clutch gearbox reason being we're keeping the manual 991 gt3 this is going to be very much used as a track car and there's something else coming which we shall share with you at the end of this video so stay tuned for that um revised rear wheel steering on this car for anyone who's tuning in now who may not be familiar with the concept of rear wheel steer uh it effectively uh creates a virtual shorter or longer wheelbase depending on the speed you're doing so at lower speeds the rear wheels turn very slightly opposite direction of the front wheels giving it that sort of london taxi effect so when you're around town you can just turn around in tighter spots easier and then at higher speeds the rear wheels turn very slightly in the same direction as the front wheels creating a virtual longer wheelbase which makes the wheelbase more stable at higher speeds it's very trick it was introduced on the 991 generation and it's been revised for 992 and then one of the biggest developments in the gt3 ever is this the first time that porsche have used a double wishbone front end setup and suspension now we'll talk about that more when we take you for the first drive in an upcoming video but take it from me the way this thing feels the front end on this gt3 i've only ever driven one on the press launch a few months back we're going to share that with you soon just before we get inside i'm going to show you underneath here because there is some more weight saving and look at this it's really hard on camera to convey weight take it from me this thing is featherweight and check out this this is like a raw exposed carbon i mean you can literally feel the grain of the weave in it it's so nice and to see it i mean historically this is something that was reserved for gt3 rs product so it does show that there are elements on this where they've really taken it up a notch again i keep going on about what is the gt3 rs gonna be like speaking of rs uh one of the things that we did spec is the club sport pack now we're about to show you inside but that as part of that is the shroth racing harnesses we are about to get those installed because as i mentioned we're very much planning on using it on track so we've got one for driver and one for passenger which is pretty cool indeed and i'm always surprised on my jacket in there just how much space there is in there that's great for road trips track days etc and then we've had some bespoke number plates made up by four dots and so subtle on this one but we're always looking for an opportunity to wedge in some branding one more thing that we optioned which is the exclusive manufacture fuel filler cap so it's not a sort of dull plastic thing it now has a bit of sculpture and aluminium type finish on it so the way we're planning on driving this we'll be at the petrol station a lot so i'm going to be interacting with that thing which is cool anyway inside before we get into the intricacies of this wonderful interior i feel compelled to say a big thank you to our channel sponsors charles and dean finance if it wasn't for those guys days like this would otherwise not be possible and i think it's fantastic service because they're they're really one-on-one i speak to tom and simon there quite often that's the biggest differentiator with these guys they begin to learn your personal circumstances and if you're anything like me you'll be scrolling through autotrader or pistonhead spot something get on the phone and go do you know what can we make this happen i think you'll be surprised first of all let's just uh retouch on the transmission so it's a real personal thing do you want to go manual do you want to go pdk uh i'm in a really fortunate situation that we're going to be keeping the manual 991 gen 2 gt3 and i thought what's the point inspecting another manual to have a similar driver experience so this is why we went for the pdk box and as i mentioned planning on using it on track so that's why we've got these flappy paddles here and honestly i'm really excited for it completely changes the experience of the car allows you to left foot brake more and just feels more of a purposeful track car on that 918 carbon bucket seats and they feel phenomenal now um on the 991 gt3 i actually had some shims put in the seat in order to tilt up my thighs now sitting in this it actually feels pretty good but i'll probably decide what i'm doing with that once i've spent a few miles on it see how it feels but the driving position of these seats it's incredible for a fixed bucket there is no adjustability in terms of the sort of pitch angle of the backrest you can move them up and down on a small switch like so up and down but other than that seats are fixed but the ergonomics are phenomenal they look fantastic they save a lot of weight because they're completely carbon fiber and um they're also clad in a contrast yellow stitch which is the closest we could match to signal yellow anyway club sport pack sport chrono here uh it's got the new lap timer uh and porsche connect which uh gives you even more enhanced data when you're out on the track and of course the all-important roll cage this is a three-quarter cage that sits only in the well rear quarter of the car essential if you're going on track a for safety but b if you want to put racing harnesses on the cage is what the harnesses connect to now optional extras we went for the carbon pack so all of this beautiful exposed carbon fiber here extended carbon down here around the cup holder door cards all in carbon extended alcantara and small details on the b pillars the seat belt exit slots which would normally be in plastic have also been clad in alcantara so it keeps that beautiful consistency of the alcantara finish throughout a whole roof liner also alcantara an optional extra down here the alcatara clad armrest with the porsche logo embossed on it yeah what a purposeful place to sit it's just beautiful the ergonomics of it there's something about sitting in a gt product it just feels right particularly if you love driving everything's to hand i've always been a fan as well of the rake that the steering rack has and the extension you can get it right up close to you while still maintaining a great driving position i can't wait this cannot wait to get this thing out there the final thing to touch on before we go and show you the underside of the car 9000 rpm from a naturally aspirated flat six it's gonna be berserk okay while we're on the topic of aero uh this is the first time that a proper visible diffuser has been installed on a gt3 there are subtle ones on the 991 if you get right under it but this is fully visible in your face which also clouds these now iconic twin piped exhaust which honestly at 9000 rpm despite the fact that the 992 generation car is now subject to a fuel particulate filter which is basically a bung up the backside it still sounds phenomenal particularly inside so whether we go on an exhaust journey later on in its life who knows comments below but uh yeah the whole thing's exciting okay so as we mentioned earlier we're gonna show you the really trick arrow on the underside of this car it's also the first and last time we're gonna see this car underneath this clean so we might as well make the most of it all right let's actually get under it and see what we can show you and this is all about the evolution of the gt3 platform and check out this lift it's got all these inbuilt leds in it first of all you'll notice there's a complete flat floor which is exactly what you want from a performance car including how the air channel is underneath here and this is how far back that diffuser starts so while you can see it on the business end where the air exits it starts right here and all the air flows all the way back and out here and then check this out knackerduct underneath the car channeling air which goes into this air intake which actually feeds the bricks the rear part of the brakes with cooling knuckle channel there it's just cool when you see all these details really adding up but these here this aero i love seeing it because when you get out on track and you can picture that stuff working as you're driving along it's just a good feeling [Music] so here it is a new plate for a new addition to the garage comment below what do you reckon under the sheet it's been a dream car for a long time if there's ever one that you should come back for please be sure to like subscribe you do not want to miss this one as always thanks so much for watching and we will see you next time ciao [Music] you
