NEW Tesla Features! | Tesla Model 3 + Model Y

your Tesla has a bunch of paid upgrades and features that you can actually get totally for free in fact Tesla will actually give you some free accessories just for being nice lately Tesla has been catching some heat for upcharging in some interesting ways like you've got to pay to use the data connection in your car supercharger prices just keep going up and up and for many parts of the world just a basic charging cable to actually charge the car is not included along with floor mats for their base models no floor mats apparently are needed for those what $40,000 cars that is of course unless you know this secret or a couple of Secrets here you've got to know so in this video let me break down five or so paid upgrades software features and accessories that you can get for your Tesla totally for free and that will really enhance your Tesla experience and will cost you $0 and0 let me explain and also a huge thanks to Masterworks for sponsoring this video let's first start with a pretty integral Tesla feature that you probably don't even know you pay for but you probably do and that is Tesla's premium connectivity plan essentially think of this like your cars data plan it lets you stream music you get satellite maps real-time traffic data you can stream stuff for Tesla theater all of this in your car for a mere $10 a month now for many years Tesla actually offered this sort of a free perk of the car owners didn't have to pay anything but a few years ago that changed and they begun starting to charge for their service and yeah I don't think it's outrageous because well everything we have these days watches phones they all have a data connection and 10 bucks isn't crazy now typically you will get a free trial of this when you get your Tesla for the very first time I believe it's a one- month free trial for model 3 and model y a one-ear free trial from model X and Model S but after that expires you're going to want to pay because your car without it without the premium connectivity plan gets really limited without that plan you enter what Tesla calls the standard connectivity package with your car and to tell you how the these two plans differ let me just show you this graph basically there's a lot you can do with premium connectivity and without paying for it you're very very limited but to be clear you could actually use your Wi-Fi hotspot in your car and be able to connect your car to your phone and use the data plan that will work but it doesn't work for all features so check the Tesla website carefully because while that is a little bit of An Inconvenient but doable workaround all the features are not the same and don't work the same so if you want to use those features you're probably going to want to spend the 10 bucks a month unless you know a secret so first thing you should know here is that you can actually save some money on this plan about 20 bucks a year by switching from a monthly plan to an annual plan obviously the benefit of the monthly plan is you can have it uh you know active uh when you want to use it not subscribe if you don't want to but I feel like unlike other things this is probably something you want to use in your Tesla all the time so if you do plan on using it for the foreseeable future you can actually jump into the Tesla app head into settings and then switch from a monthly plan to an annual plan that goes to $100 a year instead of10 so instead of 10 bucks a month you're paying $99 for the year $20 saved isn't nothing not huge but just something you should know because again probably something you're going to use for the life of time that you've got the car but in addition to that there's also a way you can basically get this for free and it doesn't take a whole lot of work you just got to know the right people or befriend some nice people at your local Tesla Service Center or Tesla store that's because with the Tesla referral system one of the reward WS is one year free of Premium connectivity for 2500 credits which in the grand scheme of things considering demo drives and a referral um you know reward for getting someone to buy a car it's actually not that much as of filming if you refer someone to buy a Tesla any model you're going to get 10,000 credits and seeing as 2500 credits uh will get you one year premium connectivity you can basically get four years of Premium connectivity totally for free by just referring one person to buy a Tesla it doesn't have to be someone you necessarily know should be probably a friend or family but even if you befriend someone at your local Tesla Service Center or I guess you do a number of test drives you can get the credits you need to get it for free and I have to pay a dime for data in your car second freebie I highly highly highly recommend you look into and do it uh earlier in your Tesla ownership experience than later is a home charging solution because there are a couple of important things to know here first things first just to make this clear and sort of clear there here um you don't need to use a Tesla charger with your test Tesla you can obviously use Tesla's wall connector or the Tesla mobile charger both of which you have to buy cuz nothing comes with the car at least in most parts of the world but also if you jump on to Amazon there are cheaper and faster and smarter options and I'll leave a couple link down below I've covered a couple of different models here on this channel that will actually give you in some cases a better experience for less money you do have to use usually in most cases the j1772 to Tesla adapter that does come with the car but if you're looking to save some money uh and charge at home you can actually just just go on Amazon or go to Best Buy and get another charger even Costco now sells Chargers uh you don't have to go with a special Tesla branded one and like I just mentioned the second thing you need to know is that the Tesla mobile connector sort of the mobile kit to plug in your car and charge at home this does not come with the car at least in many parts of the world so if you don't have a home charger you're going to buy and install you want to make sure you get one but I should mention there is actually a way to get this for free and I should also mention that it's particularly nice to take advantage of these Tesla freebies right now as I think we're all trying to really maximize our cash on hand and really put that money to work for us and not be spending it on Tesla upgrades we could get for free sure earnings are down Tesla stock is down 28% over the last 6 months senators are dumping their stocks and the media swears the economy is just fine everyone's on edge right now and I totally get it but if you're smart you've kept your options open because there's still time to use a strategy that's proven to reduce portions of portfolio risk in different economic climates like over the last 27 years like investing Tesla's end maybe you get there and there's an issue with your car maybe you have to get to the delivery Center and just wait and wait cuz Tesla's not ready I've heard that if you ask nicely and you're a little persistent Tesla will give you for for your trouble and inconvenience a free mobile connector is not a guaranteed thing I'm not going to say it works 100 times or I should say 100% of the time but I've heard many many many different times from many of my viewers in the comments that this does work so you can try your luck and you might just score a free mobile connector and also like with premium connectivity the same principle applies with referral credits and getting a free Tesla charger for example the Tesla wall connector this is the hardwired faster charger that actually looks really nice is currently 9,000 credits so again just one person who buys a Tesla and uses your referral link will give you the credits you need to buy this charger and have some left over so again I know it's easier said than done but just get one person to buy through your link and you've got a free charger not having to spend a dime of money well besides having to get it installed freey number three with your Tesla has to do with Tesla's full self-driving package and again I've caught a bunch of heat for this in the comments but I'm going to say this in its current form full self-driving is pretty limited yes full self driving beta is amazing these features are awesome to see in action but many staple Tesla FSD features like smart summon and Auto Park still do not work since Tesla switched to the vision system back in 2022 so in my opinion I would much rather not buy full selft driving for the $112,000 price tag but rather subscribe to it on a monthly basis when I need it and unsubscribe when I don't need it but of course with that said there are a couple of big ways and easy ways that you can get a Tesla F SD subscription for free the first is that if you order a Tesla like you are the one actually buying a a new model 3 or model y if you go through anyone's referral link like maybe mine down below or anyone who's looking for referral credits you as the new customer will get 3 months of full self- driving totally for free doesn't cost you anything it's active when you get the car and you can try out all the features auto lane change you can try out FSD beta that's included in here too you can try all the features 3 months totally for free Elon has also said on multiple occasions that Tesla will at some point once again offer a free FSD Trail to everyone but as of right now the only way to get it is to place an order through a referral link you can't add this after the fact you can't do this later on you have to place that original order through a referral link but if you do that again cost you no extra money you get 3 months of full soft driving totally for free but if you are the referer and you refer someone to buy a Tesla you actually get something as well again that is 10,000 credits and that'll actually buy you a couple of different things with Tesla subscriptions you can either do 3 months of enhanced autopilot which gives you most FSD features for 8,000 credits or you can do the full kitten Kaboodle the three months of FSD for 10,000 credits so one referral will get you three months of FSD again totally for free and I should mention speaking of software there are some other goodies that you can actually get for your Tesla that many people actually don't know about for example if you own a Long Range model 3 or model Y and you're looking to get more performance out out of it you can sort of kind of turn it into a performance variant with what Tesla calls their acceleration boost this is basically a software unlock that's going to give you more power out of the motors already built in your car and give you a faster 0 to 60 time you don't have to take this into Tesla you don't have to do anything you just get a software update that comes to your car instantly unlocks it and you can go faster now almost like you've got a performance almost the acceleration boost will take the 0 to 60 time in your model 3 long range from 4.2 seconds to 3.7 and your model y long range from 4.8 to 4.3 these are still not close to Tesla's performance numbers but if you're looking for a bit of a jolt and a boost and get your adrenaline kick from the car you already own you can get this with the acceleration boost but bit of a problem while this acceleration boost does exist it's easy to install and basically will instantly unlock this power it's kind of expensive for what you get it's $2,000 which is a lot of money but you probably know where I'm going with this if you go through the magic of the referral system which again you just need one person one person to buy Tesla maybe you post it on Facebook you again maybe hang out at your local Tesla Service Center or your store try to help somebody out answer some questions maybe they'll use your link if you go that route and get those 10,000 credits that will actually get you uh the acceleration boost totally for free specifically that acceleration boost is 9500 credits which I actually think is interesting because well for one one you know referral will actually get you that for free and you don't have to pay for it but also I believe this is the best dollar for bang for buuck thing you can get in the referral rewards system you can do supercharging miles you can do accessories apparel the wall connector but in this case if you do the equivalence here Tesla is basically saying that 10,000 credits or I should say 9500 credits in this case is equal to $2,000 so like what $2,500 basically for uh making that referral sale uh I think this is the best dollar again dollar for dooll Value you can get in the referral systems if you do want an acceleration boost this is is a way to go and then I should mention one more Tesla upgrade you can get that's currently not available for free but I just thought I should mention if we're in the app looking at software upgrades is Tesla's extended service plan if you do want to get an additional warranty that'll extend your uh Tesla warranty additional 2 years or 25,000 mil Tesla does offer this the only reason I bring this up is because I feel like it's not widely known so if you didn't know yes Tesla now does offer an extended service plan and it's in the Tesla app as a basically like a paid upgrade you can get for your Tesla and I can do a whole video if you wanted me to diving into the Tesla referral system because it does give you more perks there's accessories there's uh car upgrades there's events sometimes there's ways to get your cybertruck faster Tesla's always sort of updating this with different things so definitely check it out but again this is a very valuable asset as a Tesla owner and it just takes a little bit of time in being nice to get one sale which unlocks a lot of opportunities and possibilities for you to get some freebies for your car so I'm curious what are your thoughts on this guys your thoughts on Tesla's referral system your
