who are here on tonight to be a blessing to us amen we thank god for uh reverend dean nelson who has been here before and he has been a blessing to us in many ways and we appreciate him but i tell you on tonight it is history in the making to have the very first african-american or black lieutenant governor in the state of north carolina in our presence praise the lord he is here and we are going to hear a word from him on tonight amen it's one thing to have a lieutenant governor in your presence but it's another thing to have a lieutenant governor with a word from the lord amen yes we've come come from near and far praise the lord i'm sure that you're familiar with the upper room it's one way or another and one of the things that we are known for is we are known for standing on god's truth and we are known for giving god the glory honor and praise that is due his name and we say to you that you are welcome to join in with us and celebrate the lord for his goodness hallelujah toward the children of men so many didn't make it to see this time but god has spared our lives and given us the privilege to come to the holy convocation and for that cause we owe him a praise we owe him glory we owe him honor we oh god we oh god we oh god hallelujah and for that we are just so grateful for all of his goodness amen so celebrate with us rejoicing the lord with us and i certainly hope that excited we are ready for the word of god on tonight again supervisor of the women's department mother beverly d'jinae and first lady pamela wood and all the executive women as well as these pastors wives and these wonderful missionaries district missionaries and all of the saints of god we're just thankful to be here in the house of god and tell somebody we thank god for you and you and you amen we appreciate you so much on tonight well listen we are getting ready to again receive um a purpose from miss valerie johnson vice president of the frederick douglass uh foundation i don't know this woman of god personally but again i do uh know the the next person that's going to come after her and i don't know if she will uh introduce this man of god more formally but i do know again this man of god the reverend dean nelson we go way back we go way back since my college days my freshman year at the university of north carolina at greensboro god saved me at the age of 18 their own uh their campus but i gotta say the evangel fellowship church of god in christ and came on the leadership of my late spiritual father and bishop patrick i mean hold us like a senior see that the two are so close you see hallelujah that they can run they run neck and neck glory to god and the influence in my life but it was during this time back when i was a freshman and going into my sophomore year that we met uh reverend nelson at this particular time he he was working very closely with a good friend of mine late spiritual father bishop wellington boone again was was his pastor at that particular time and we they helped us to establish new generations campus ministry right there on the campus of uncg and he and another team of leaders from ngm was very instrumental in impacting my life personally as as a man of god and pastor corbett because we served as the president vice president of the chapter there at uncg and and again reverend nelson was one of those ones who was who was helping us and just encouraging us and giving us insight as to what to do and he helped to help spark a revival that broke out on uncg's campus and i am so honored to see that he is yet moving and shaking and touching again the the people of god and making an impact all across this nation at the uh frederick douglass institute he's the chairman there and so we're getting ready to receive from these two wonderful individuals let's receive miss valerie johnson as she comes and then we're going to hear from reverend dean nelson let's assume that they come at this time well praise the lord saints thank you bishop first lady upper room church family nc 3rd it is truly an honor to stand before you tonight for this holy convocation i love this ministry i know god has placed me here for such a time as this the purpose for this special ceremony is to talk about pure religion the social issues of our time while staying true to the god of the bible what does the bible say about pure religion let's go to our foundation scripture we can read it james 1 26-27 those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight reign on their tongues deceive themselves and their religion is worthless religion that is pure and undefiled before god the father is this to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world amen let's fight define cure for a moment pure is a substance and an entity that has not been tainted it is not watered down with any other substance or material it is completely free of contamination pure real purity before god is obedience righteousness and holiness by following biblical doctrine that's pure religion hallelujah saints our christianity today is being tainted it's being tainted by this one social issue called racism racism is now being used to cancel out anyone who disagrees with their wicked and perverted agenda i've always been taught racism is rooted in unforgiveness it is a hate sin problem you're not gonna protest it out you're not gonna legislate it out you're not even going to beat it out of an individual only god can change the heart heart of a person and that's only if that racist person allows god to do it jesus died for our sin and not our skin and that is not a theory okay the only thing critical about critical race theory is john 3 16. the saved and the unsaved race amen told peter upon this rock i'm going to build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it but i hate to say this those ungodly social issues are the gates of hell and have made their way in our homes our communities our education systems our governments the media the workplace and sadly some churches but thank god this is not one of them upper room church of god [Applause] the adversary is doing his best to kill steal and rob the church of his pureness and let me make this clear black liberation theology is not the gospel of jesus christ and it doesn't belong in the church it is a spirit of division and hatred and it's going to lead many folks to hell if they don't repent the body of christ specifically black churches are being contaminated by doctrines of devils these wicked organizations and i'm not going to give them the publicity are no longer hiding their purpose to defile the very judeo-christian principles this great country was founded upon bishop has been warning us for years about their blasphemous policies and ideologies it isn't about racial injustice or to stop racism no no no it's about implementing those other isms you know vocism lesbianism transgenderism feminism communism socialism and they're all rooted in pure satanism [Applause] but don't get weary saints i got bad news for them my bible says god laughs at the plans of the wicked there's no rest for the wicked church the pure religious bible believing spirit spirit-filled folks that refuse to compromise the faith are standing in their way believers like you and me we ain't backing down i don't know about you but i've just begun to fight why because our freedom of religion is at stake jesus told his disciples and i'll say it to us again to remind us behold i have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall hurt you which simply means have no fear when you face the evils of this this world the bible the word of god simply says have no fear but oh valerie you better not talk about politics in the church you hear folks use separation of church and state all the time to keep politics out of the pulpit but i beg to differ politics governs the very laws we live by the most important political event in history took place two thousand years ago what was that event it was the crucifixion you had a roman governor pontius pilate king herod who was appointed by the governor the sanhedrin who were the elite councils of priests who manipulated the crowd the voters into crucifying jesus [Applause] in fact if it wasn't for the christian influence in politics could you imagine where our world would be today one of my favorite quotes by clarence henderson and unfortunately he couldn't be here tonight but i love this quote he says before there were governments there were people before there were people there was god [Applause] my sisters and brothers i didn't come here to inform you about political propaganda or rhetoric i came here tonight to sound the alarm on the holy heel or to blow that trumpet sorry and to sound the alarm on the holy heel to let all in the land tremble because our lord is coming he's coming church it is close at hand watchmen on the wall like clarence mark dean and i we are fighting these deplorable legislations every day ecclesiastes 12 13 says now all has been heard here is the conclusion of the matter fear god and keep his commandments for this is the duty of mankind church it is time to put on the full armor of god and defend the faith at all cost this is how we stay true to the god of the bible in these perilous times amen [Music] man you may be seated reverend dean nelson human coalition vice president of government relations based in and live in maryland we're going to ask when he comes to the pulpit that you rest on your feet until he gives you further instructions receive reverend dean nelson you may be seated in the presence of the lord good evening come on you can do better than that good evening i want to tell you that i am so happy tonight so excited and full of joy just to be in the house of god with this man of god bishop patrick l wooden let's give god praise for him i just want to say that i believe this is just me but i believe that the third jurisdiction is the crown jewel in the most socially conscious bible-centered african-american-led denomination in the country the church of god in christ i mean what i say and i am grateful tonight now it's true when you read that bio it said i was baptist and that's true i wasn't born in it but i tell you to god i feel so accepted in it i might as well have been born in it i've received that mother i receive it i receive it so those of you who may have been wondering the light-skinned negro on the corner that wasn't wearing a black suit i am in good with the bishop now i have to say the reason now he told me that what they were going to be wearing and i said well you know bishop i i work in d.c so if i if i had a meeting with the senator and i had on my clerical collar it wouldn't wouldn't quite be the same i would be looking a little bit different so but the reason though that i'm wearing this suit is is the fault falls with superintendent quick now i'm going to tell on him tonight because the last time we were together he and he said it was the lord and i received it i i received that it was the lord he encouraged several other bishops that were around he sowed a seed and told me to get a suit now it wasn't that my other suit looked so bad i hope i hope it wasn't that but he appreciated me and so i'm just saying tonight the reason that i'm wearing this is because of him so let's give god praise for for him i don't know if those other bishops were seeing it but when you got through with him they all sowed a mighty seed and i'm grateful to god for it well listen i am as i stated grateful to be here tonight and i really just want to give a short exhortation uh it was stated a little bit earlier that you know i serve as the chairman of the frederick douglass foundation and the douglas leadership institute and a whole bunch of other of those titles that really in this life don't really matter i got saved i got filled with god's spirit through a fantastic move of god i thank god so much for uh superintendent stone chris thank you so much brother it's great to be with you as he stated when we when we got saved it was it was the real deal how many of you know when you're in college and you're a young man you get saved you get saved sure enough because there are all kinds of opportunities and temptations that are around you when you're in college but when god meets you in a real way all you have to do is just you just have to surrender and we were and i'm not surprised that that that chris has such a great relationship with bishop wooden because when we got saved it we we were of the radical sort once you got saved then the next assignment was for you to stand up in the cafeteria on the table and announce to everybody that might listen that you were born again and that you were going to pray for their food over if they weren't saved you were going to pray for their food and then then lead them in a prayer repentance if they didn't watch out that's we thought that was just regular christianity and so when we would go to churches and they weren't serious for god we felt like what this this place doesn't suit me and i think that many of you in here feel that way about the world outside it doesn't suit you but guess what god has called us to in encouraged us to impact those to bring them in here and god's going to use you to do it somebody say amen as was stated frederick douglass how many of you know anything about the great abolitionist frederick douglass okay i see some hands i want to say that more people are finding out about him and i'm just going to say a few things but but by by example i'm going to encourage you in the things of god through some of the things that mr douglas actually said just so that you know the douglas leadership institute and the frederick douglass foundation we exist to engage to equip and to empower faith-based leaders just like you to apply the word of god to life and to the marketplace can somebody say marketplace we are called not just to keep what god has given us in here but to take it out there can someone say amen that is what god has called us to do and that is what we try to do to equip leaders within the church and i am so grateful for the strategic partnership that our organization has with the church of god in christ i am grateful for that just give god praise because i believe i believe as i stated and i travel and meet with denominational leaders of all sorts and i just want to say to you sometimes when you're in a thing you may not know the value of that thing and i tell you whether i am sitting with the president or sitting with governors they will often hear if they ask me anything about the church almost immediately the church of god and christ is on my lips because i am proud of the work that has been done through this great denomination i want to say that i am proud i saw just a few months ago bishop i did see maybe a month and a half ago i think it was good morning america your new presiding bishop who did a fantastic job of speaking to the world about the standards of the church of god in christ he emphasized that we are a word church he emphasized that america is a good nation it has flaws but he emphasized america as a christian nation i said man that was bold but he said that flat footed uncompromising and i promise you that if that is the type of leadership that continues with this great denomination you may ultimately be the answer to what ails america so i want you particularly in this district because as i stated i do believe this is dean nelson speaking but i believe that this jurisdiction is a crown jewel in your denomination and i want you to do everything that you can to pray to believe god to raise up more men and women of god from this great jurisdiction to be on platforms before the nation to be able to speak the oracles of god stand flat-footed uncompromising in a day of compromise so that people will know that there is a god in heaven and that he is still active in the affairs of men because there are people who are sold out to him dedicated to him without compromise the great abolitionist frederick douglass said it like this he says i have one great political idea he said the best expression of it i have found in the bible it is in substance righteousness exalts a nation sin is a reproach to any people he says that's the whole of my politics the positive and the negative he was saying listen everything that i do whether it's in social action whether it is in meeting with uh representatives or presidents of the united states is motivated by the kingdom of god people know frederick douglass as an abolitionist but people don't know that he was a minister of the gospel many people know that he spoke eloquently but many people don't know that at the age of 13 he had a divine encounter with god where he would plead to god saying lord i don't know you i am wayward but i need you desperately you should read the read the accounts of frederick douglass in an early age and he had a mentor frederick douglass when he was a teenager could read but he said this of his mentor hanson he said i had the letter but he had the spirit the young frederick douglass had a mentor who prayed over him and told him prophesied to him that he would be used greatly by god someday my encouragement to all of us tonight really is simple it is really this i want to encourage you that god is raising up men and women who are dedicated to him to be made difference makers in our culture some of you are not just mothers you're not just stay-at-home moms some of you are shaping the future of the next generation some of you are continuing looking to your past thinking that god can't use you because of where you've come from i want to remind you that the apostle paul before he got saved when he was saul was holding the coats and persecuting the church even the the the the man of god stephen who was stoned to death the apostle paul was there as a witness but god would still use him in a significant way to write one-third uh you know two-thirds of the uh of the new testament and would use him significantly i want to say to you god is raising up men and women in this hour and i believe that those men and women are in this room i want you not to cower down but to accept the call that god is placing on your life [Applause] i'm going to share a quick story and then i'm going to get ready to sit down as i stated earlier we were involved in this campus ministry movement and there was at north carolina a t state university a friend of mine who got saved during this campus movement and when he got saved he was bold for god and he still lives for god i was talking to him about two years ago we reconnected he was now in texas and we talked a little bit about what we were doing and we we were honestly being lamenting at some of those who we knew who started out with us were not walking with god anymore but as we continued to talk he began to share a little bit about other people who god had touched and god was beginning to use and i had shared with him people that i had known that were now doctors who were in new york city that were practicing but they were also spirit-filled believers that were serving god i talked to him a little bit about a friend of mine richard delgetti who works on wall street but uses the resources that god gives him to impact the kingdom i talk to him about other men and women of god that came up with us that are doing great things in this country and outside of this country there's a statement that was made it's accredited to abraham lincoln where it says that the philosophy in the classroom in one generation is the philosophy in government in the next in a similar way aristotle i was a rhetoric major so we studied uh some of the classics but he said that all who have meditated on the art of governing mankind are convinced that the fate of empires rests on the education of our youth psalms declares that one generation shall praise thy mighty acts to the next as wayne and i continue the conversation he told me about a friend of his who was running for lieutenant governor and he told me how he had actually led this person to the lord when i had the opportunity to meet that person the man who was next to speak earlier this year i asked him do you know this guy wayne campbell he said wayne he said man that guy helped lead me to the lord and he's the reason that i am a conservative what's my point the apostle paul had an apostolic team of priscilla and aquila and they would lead to the lord someone named apollos who would ultimately become an apostle himself i'm saying that god has influenced you to make a difference in the lives of other people you may not know that you are preaching during the week to the next lieutenant governor of the state of north carolina real story and then i'm done today in washington dc there is a young man who i have been blessed to mentor today he is working in washington d.c but he is a student at yale law school if you don't know you don't practice law yale and harvard are the two top law schools in the country he is there in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation he said the things that they advocate for and teach would make aoc seem like she's moderate but this young man jeremy hunt is a graduate of west point his dad used to be a preacher here in uh in raleigh garland hunt but i've been a mentor to jeremy and he now has the opportunity to serve one next year or the year after that clarence thomas to clerk for justice thomas what am i saying in addition he's already met last week with billionaires who are interested in surveying him to see if they would get behind him should in the future he want to run for political office what am i saying i would never have had met those people jeremy would never have met any of those people except for god i want to encourage you tonight you don't know ultimately the destiny that god has for you or the people that you are called to influence i believe with all of my heart that god is going to use men and women who have consecrated themselves to him now i'm in a holy church so when i hear when i say consecrated i'm expecting for somebody to to shout me back bishop i i don't know about you but to me to me when i got saved i ran out of the baptist church and i was looking for anything that had pentecostal in it because i needed something that was more than what i had before [Applause] so like jesus said like they said of john the baptist if you're not the one then maybe we should look for another i don't know about you but when god touched me i said god i want to be the one i said put me in coach i want the ball for my generation so i don't know who i'm talking to tonight but i want to encourage you if you want to be used by god in the next move of god you need to consecrate yourself unto him you can't do what sinners do and call yourself a saint you got to dedicate yourself to god with prayer and fasting you can't have cheap grace like some of those other folks across the street who go to church only on the internet [Music] i'm gonna read something for you you can sit down and this is the and then we're done i'm gonna read this for you this isn't bible but it's god anyhow you're gonna listen to this martin luther king jr when he wrote that letter from a birmingham jail said it like this that the church must be reminded it is not the master nor the servant of the state but it is called to be the conscience of the state and if the church loses its prophetic zeal it becomes an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority when i look at most of the churches particularly in the black community i hate to say it but they've chosen to be that social club they've chosen to be the social club and they do not have moral or spiritual authority but not so with you some of you may remember the song that we sing often at black gatherings lift every voice in sin but those words that were penned by james weldon johnson almost haunt me as i remember and read these final words that he wrote and i'm going to take my seat but he said god of our weary years god of our silent tears thou who has brought us thus far on the way thou who has by thy might led us into the light keep us forever in the path we pray lest our feet stray from the places our god where we met thee lest our hearts drunk with the wine of the world we forget thee shadow beneath thy hand may we forever stand true to our god true to our native land god bless you jurisdiction 3. [Applause] hallelujah come on let's bless the lord for miss valerie johnson and the reverend dean nelson from the frederick douglass foundation institute well saints of god was that not good is your heart stirred hallelujah let's thank god for these warriors that's behind us and no warriors that's out there that's sitting come on let's put our hands together and bless the lord hallelujah for raising up many women of god who's gonna fight the good fight of faith and lift up the bloodstained banner of our lord and savior jesus christ but now we get ready to receive the music ministry of nc third followed by our president of the mission department sister sean demurry she's going to come and give us some highlights of what's happening in missions in north carolina third and then followed [Music] hallelujah well hallelujah come on all of that good encouragement somebody to praise god give him the glory probably because that will god so loved the world that whosoever somebody said whosoever believe in him would not perish but would have everlasting life somebody said that's even you [Music] but there's only one begotten of the father and his name is jesus and it's the same jesus for all of us it reaches to the highest [Music] mountain [Music] is that gives me strength from day to day [Applause] can we sing that again [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] from [Music] [Applause] today [Music] [Applause] here we go [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i know that gives me strength [Applause] come on somebody make your declaration in power [Applause] [Applause] i know it was giving me strength [Music] [Applause] [Music] i don't know what's coming in your life but i want to let you know nothing can separate us from the love of god [Applause] there's nothing too hard [Applause] [Music] somebody reach out to him right now oh repair his name hallelujah [Music] glory to god glory to god [Music] oh amen amen you would never lose his power thank you lord we thank god for our nc third jurisdictional prelay bishop patrick l wooden senior for allowing us this space and everyone in their respective places as we are building and solidifying our relationship with kenya the missions team recently spoke with our contacts for two of our missions projects here is a brief excerpt from our conversation on zoom with isaiah nayanwaro who grew up in kibera and there he ministers the gospel while leading a feeding program for children the food is is not as much enough for everyone here so that feeding program is one of ways we reach out with children they come they get fed when they go home at least something on their stomach some of the parents live okay families live one meal a day so when they come and you're able to substitute that on a particular saturday it goes a long way as a result nc third was able to sponsor another feeding of hundreds of children on saturday july 24th we are using these efforts to feed the hungry provide drink to the thirsty we want them to know that jesus christ is the answer and able to provide on our call with vincent barthel the son of the founder of the inuwa mimi rescue center he was able he will he was able to give us insight of life in kibera show the reality of islam because majority of the media personalities they usually come to islam to only showcase the negative side they don't show the positive side of people smiling people doing their own activities people young young people doing photography young people doing dance certain people drawing the only show when there's killings the only show and there's uh corruption the only showing is police brutality they don't show this other side seeing the conditions we are now identifying benchmarks we want to make sure are met from each of these projects to ensure we maximize our outreach efforts as we are ministering to the people our goal is to provide bibles to many that wants one we are ultimately working with hundreds if not a thousand children and we would like to see them have their own bible to read and study as they grow in god we would like this to be a part of our love covers all christmas christmas initiative this year the jurisdictional missions contacts have generously supported these projects through their giving participation in our conference calls and virtual meetings with kibera you will be hearing from them within your districts on how you can be a part and support these efforts we are grateful of all the support as the lord leads us as we make an impact all over the world if you would like to give with lieutenant governor mark robinson grew up poor in greensboro north carolina as the ninth of ten children in a green shingled house with a red roof his father was an abusive alcoholic their house had no heat no ac and didn't even have a shower for them to wash as a child lieutenant governor mark robinson ended up in foster care system he and two of his brothers went to the same home where they were fortunate to end up with a caring family some of his siblings were not as fortunate and ended up in abusive situations he and his siblings were able to move back with their mother eventually who was a devout woman of faith and he credits his mother as being the reason he is the man he is today she taught him about the bible and always told her children they could be whatever they put their minds to towards the end of high school lieutenant governor mark robertson joined the army reserves where he served as a medical specialist for three years after high school he went to north carolina a t and while there worked for at a factory lieutenant governor mark robinson planned on staying at this factory and working his way up and possibly even retiring with the company but it wasn't to be while he was working there nafta was implemented and his job like so many others had wages cut they were cut so badly in fact he ended up leaving after that he worked at a restaurant as a shift worker before becoming the general manager there and served in that role for five years during that time his wife yolanda started a daycare center which grew rapidly requiring them to acquire a new building eventually lieutenant governor mark robinson left his job to work at the center where he taught children and cared for them after eight years they decided to sell the business and he went back to work at a furniture factory while there he attended uncg studying history however this factory job would also cease to exist when the owners decided to move the plant to mexico leaving lieutenant governor mark robinson and dozens of others without jobs he eventually got a new job and a at a different furniture factory that had plans to pursue a full time teaching career getting his master's and then phd so that he could become a professor but it was not to be on april 3rd 2018 lieutenant governor mark robinson's life changed when he stood up against the greensboro city council in a speech which has been seen over 150 million times since that speech he has served on the nra national outreach board has appeared on fox and friends has been interviewed by lara trump and traveled the state and nation spreading the conservative message lieutenant governor mark robinson resides in greensboro and is happily married to his wife yolanda and has two kids and a grandchild once again put your hands together for our lieutenant governor lieutenant governor mark robinson amen come on let's bless the lord for those wonderful observations from our secretary as well as the report from our mission department president sister chandra murray and we do thank god again for this opportunity i now have the privilege of bringing to introduce our jurisdictional prelate our chief of staff of nc third the superintendent tommy eugene quick from spartanburg south carolina he is a mighty man of god one who again i honor and i appreciate he is a father he is a husband he is one who is against standing with our bishop along with many of us as men of god here in nc 3rd and he is a part of that great engine that's keeping nc third moving and we appreciate him so much let's receive our chief of staff the superintendent tommy quick as he comes and introduce our jurisdictional pellet and preside over our worship in giving on tonight [Applause] [Music] god bless you thank you so much dr stone always a pleasure to work with such men of god and dr stone and the other administrative assistants certainly make the tasks that i have uh easy we are grateful tonight i want to take just a moment just say thank the lord for our distinguished guest in the lieutenant governor of north carolina mr mark robertson please give him a hand god bless you sir i am honored to be in your presence tonight and uh just to say your testimony your beginning sounds like mine we didn't end up in the same place but we started out amen next door neighbors and i'm grateful for you i'm glad to see how god has moved in your life thankful for my dear friend uh reverend dean nelson what a mighty amen we're tonight and so we appreciate you uh for that word and for your love for our bishop and your love and faith in this tremendous jurisdiction we are the crown jewel of the church of god in christ and we are amen very proud of that fact i am uh i want to just say that reverend nelson's going to be preaching for us on the 15th on sunday morning we're looking forward to that now i'm here to present our prelate and it's always an honor to do it i always feel like what can i say about this man of god uh everybody who is somebody knows him amen all over the country and even around the world he's been visited from germany and other places across the waters to interview him because he's so profound as it pertains to cultural issues and he's bold and he hasn't just begotten to be that he's been preaching like this for years and years i have had the pleasure of knowing him since he was born into uh into the church and he has never changed the same conviction and the same zeal that he exhibits today he exhibited as a minister and as a elder and as a pastor as a superintendent and continuing uh even today he is doing a fantastic job and his influence is far greater than any of us could probably imagine because we will never know uh the numbers of people across the country who are inspired and given hope because he labors to preach the gospel not just in the raleigh area but across the country and people are responding and we are honored to have him as our prelate he has led us a man through six glorious years from a very unstable and uncertain beginning in a very short period of time establish this jurisdiction and we've become renowned we are a man watched all over the church of god in christ and beyond and i've always said this about him he will not disappoint if you amen find this man of god on radio television wherever he might be the gospel that he preaches is the gospel that he lives he is not one thing one place and somebody else somewhere else whether he's speaking the power or speaking to some lowly soul that's desiring to get up out of the ditches of life he has one message and that is based on the bible the word of the lord so we're honored tonight to call him our prelate we are honored tonight to say that he's the leader of nc third we are honored tonight to be supporters of the ministry that god has given him we're just standing on your feet tonight and let's give god the praise as we receive our bishop tonight we love this earth god bless you praise the lord thank you you might be seated thank you superintendent chief of staff quick for that powerful introduction and we certainly do thank the lord for the tremendous job that first assistant stone has done as our master of ceremony and i'm yet rejoicing for reverend dean nelson and all that our eyes have seen and ears have heard i'm grateful that we have our lieutenant governor here tonight and we're going i know you want to hear from him and we're going to put him up momentarily uh he was raring to go just a moment he was he said is it my turn i said no hold on one of us just a couple of other things that we need to do and then we want to put this this warrior for jesus christ of amen [Applause] there have been in total 35 lieutenant governors in the state of north carolina starting with todd r cardwell in 1868 through 1870 but the 35th lieutenant governor this history-making man of god is mark robertson and we're so proud of him tonight so proud i love him i love him i love him um because he loves jesus christ and he's a tremendous man of god a historian a powerful man and i have something that we want to present to you sir um just to mark this occasion and what you've you've done and what you're doing and it reads as follows in recognition of your history making accomplishment as the first black lieutenant governor of the state of north carolina we honor your noteworthy achievement bishop patrick l wooden senior prelude uh jurisdiction of prelate north carolina third ecclesiastical jurisdiction on this august 2021. sir we present this to you [Applause] he's a good man and uh and we praise the lord for him quickly we're going to do something that's going to take just a few moments and we're watching the time tonight and for those who are visiting with us tonight we're glad you're here and believe it or not by jurisdictional standards we're moving fast somebody said what there's something about it when we come to church church is our destination we we love it and church is not uh the service is on something we just stop by and and quickly move on with but we love the house of god and it's a blessing to be able to be in church at the upper room we just celebrated our 63rd week back in live services week 63 and the lord has been faithful and has watched over us we have already sent out instructions and we've already said to you what we want you to do in order to help us to receive the offering tonight you've seen what sister murray showed us tonight with the work that our jurisdiction is doing both here and abroad helping to build schools helping to feed on foreign souls not to mention the the work that we do in the community and i'm proud of our community involvement and the impact that we're having on this world the church is the most powerful social organization on earth no one does social work like the church because we change people from the inside out amen nothing works like get like convincing someone to serve jesus but you can't uh get a hungry man to serve to accept jesus until you fill him up and we do the work of the lord and we thank the lord for it pastors tonight you we know what we've been asked to do superintendents and leaders saints of god let's make ready our offering i want to pray for you and we're going to give as unto the god of the bible and tonight we want to do it in a little different manner normally we proudly stand and and bring our offerings and we take pride in letting people know even what we're doing and what we're giving our our belief has always been that if the world is not ashamed to let the world know that they support the world then we're not ashamed to let people know that we support the work of the lord but god who sees knows and he's going to bless you tonight for your giving so i'm going to ask everyone to raise your right hand father in jesus name as we prepare tonight to give i pray that you touch every heart touch every soul touch every mind and father move on the saints as we generously share tonight in this budget offering the one night that is set aside to receive the budget for the entire week oh god we thank you for it we believe you for it god touch hearts touch minds anoint each person to do what they've been asked to do god touched the visitors tonight that they were so generously into the work of the lord and those who are streaming touch our streaming audience that have always been so faithful and have stood by us down through the years god touched them right now as they and move on them to give in this work in jesus name amen those who are streaming just join us on easytime.com urc go there and sow your seed into well we got to easytive.com slash nc3j nc3jrnc3rd.org and give and help us do the work that we're doing uh both home and abroad and i think that if you sow into the work god will remember you and he will bless you real good amen praise the lord do we want to do that we want to do that and we're going to give and uh let's see usher's how we're going to receive this tonight um you all can serve each do like you normally do on sunday morning and uh uh just raise your hand with your offering and the issues will come pastors i'm counting on you tonight superintendents and leaders amen god knows your name the lord sees what you do and he's going to bless it praise the lord amen normally we would have the ladies to pass it up here tonight and we would call it out but tonight i want you to hear this great lieutenant governor and we want to thank the lord for his lovely wife oh she's special now you talking about a couple who love jesus christ they came here one day one sunday morning and he sat up in that section right up there and rejoiced and praised the lord the entire service and i hadn't hadn't had a chance to meet him at that time but brother archer we're praying for you just laid his mother to rest we're praying for you as i saw this man praising the lord and his wife praising the lord i said god they're special they're different and and they didn't give the lord the typical politician phrase it says to go that politician praise go so fast god don't even see it but they were praising the lord like holding his people and then when we met after service only to find out that they're sanctified and love jesus christ and you know we have a prayer team uh at the invite of the governor that we're not the only ones but at the invite of the governor go into the mansion uh once a month and pray to the god of heaven and seek the lord that god would bless our nation now one last time you heard a politician doing something like that amen and we need prayer we need god's favor as never before amen amen so we are just grateful tonight praise the lord just turn it in there amen that's my offering praise god we're grateful to be able to give and grateful to be able to to share in the lord's work [Music] aren't you glad to be born again and a christian in a day like today i'm glad i'm glad i'm glad i'm glad i'm glad i thank the lord tonight to see my mother amen i just lit up when i saw my mama come in amen i'm so proud of her and my first evangelist the first one to tell me about jesus christ and i thank god for her i thank the lord for my spiritual mother mother william turner she's the mother over this entire work and we thank god for you mother praise the lord amen have we received from everyone and perhaps maybe someone sent an offering by you and you put it in your coat pocket and you forgot uh you might want to check to see that i've actually done that before amen have we received from everyone thank you huh see that see there they forgot one see fred you thought i was just talking to you amen we have another one coming look at god all right if there's anyone else who forgot maybe you're the folk coming from the bathroom just coming in and doing it you're entered into the sanctuary right on time [Music] thank you lord all right thank you so much father we bless the offering in jesus name we pray amen at this time it's time to hear from our keynote speaker tonight thank god for pastor dean nelson he took this appointment on late notice and god used him mighty amen [Applause] when i was seeking the lord about tonight i asked god lord what would you have me to do after he gave me the theme for the convocation pure religion the lord spoke to me and said see if the lieutenant governor is available see if he can come if his schedule would allow the lord has knitted our hearts together i saw something one day and you probably saw it if you've paid attention at all to the to the news our lieutenant governor uh was unjustly attacked by one of the uh television stations and a caricature of sorts was done of him and i was home and i was watching the news and i saw his defense as he stood and he spoke and as i listened to him i was moved by his courage i was impressed by his oratory i was moved by the intelligence of his response but my heart was deeply and i could have gone under the table and then i experienced a tremendous sense of rage because as our great lieutenant governor was standing there talking i looked over his shoulder and there stood his lovely wife but you know i looked and i didn't see me i didn't see other clergy i didn't see other preachers standing with him for he should not have been standing by himself i called the lieutenant governor and acts audience with him and he so graciously gave it to me and i said to him sir if you will be so kind and you consider i mean he's a powerful man he don't need a body guard you don't need me but i said sir if you will if ever something like that happens again and you call a press conference of sorts please call me um and i had some other leaders of our state with me as we met with him and we said to um the lieutenant governor let us stand with you amen because you're not alone you're not alone we possess the courage of our conviction and our the key is like-mindedness and in the areas um where he was attacked we believe and stand with him i'm honored tonight to present this man i personally think that god raised him up for such a time as this i actually saw that videotape when he made that speech in greensboro speaking to the county commissioners nobody saw him coming this great big black man he stood there i can't do him i'm not big enough he stood there and waited in line and when he grabbed that microphone i said to my wife when he was done i said honey they didn't see that man coming and not knowing that god would take that moment and catapult him to where he is right now and that he has taken the time to come and to share with us tonight is indeed an honor after this semantic selection whoever's demonic selection i'm going to ask you to stand and honor this man as he comes to present to us to preach to us tonight to give us the keynote address if jesus himself walked in tonight we wouldn't stand we would all bow we'd fall on our face and we would worship but we stand and honor men and women who are honorable and this is an honorable man i would ask that after the semantics election everyone would rest upon their feet until he has given us further instruction and receive the lieutenant governor of the state of north carolina the honorable mark robinson god bless you down at the cross where my savior died down wherefore clinton [Music] my [Music] has me singing [Music] i am someone justly saved from my sins jesus so sweetly abides within [Music] the air at the cross where it took poor little men [Music] has me singing glory to his name when i'm by myself sometimes i just say glory glory to his name oh glory to his name your precious name there to my heart was your blood oh it was applied i'm singing glory glory to your name jesus jesus jesus there is something about that name master savior [Music] jesus like the fragrance after [Applause] jesus sweet jesus jesus let all heavens and earth proclaim [Music] but there but there but there's something that name jesus i'd love to call your name i gotta call your name save me [Music] [Music] so [Music] little man on the show you say thank god thank you all for coming out god bless good night [Music] nothing else to say all right uh i'm a little overwhelmed and believe it or not i really don't know what to say i guess i ought to start like i always start by thanking my lord savior jesus christ [Applause] [Music] you know i i i like it i like the fact that so many people on social media criticized me for saying that i like it criticize me all you want to you know they call me your bible thumper i know you ain't perfect i remember winning this and i remember you're just like everybody else you're not perfect that's why i proclaim his name because i am not perfect because day by day minute by minute i mess up and i need his help to correct me i need him on my left shoulder i need him on my right shoulder tapping me saying hey stop that hey stop saying that hey stop thinking that get back on track remember who you are remember whose you are and stop that mess i need him daily [Applause] and truth be told the ones back there typing that mess they need him worser than i do so i'ma keep on saying thank you to my lord savior jesus christ [Music] see because i'm gonna tell you something else too see this nation needs to say thank you too see because we had some founders that got it right that's right you see we had great britain had a king a man who sat on the throne that called himself god on earth but our founder sat down one day and crafted a a a document called the declaration of independence and in that declaration of independence they said we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal that they are endowed by their who their creator with certain inalienable rights that among these are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness and i can almost see god shifting himself up in his heat saying what did they say they didn't say the king they didn't say the queen they didn't say the emperor they said my name finally there's somebody that got it right this is a nation i can get behind and we'll get behind i know they got problems and i know they got things to sort out but i'll be right there with them helping them to do it so this nation needs to say thank you to him too and we need to continue to say thank you to him because without him that flag don't fly and that freedom don't mean nothing cause freedom only exists in jesus christ and that's the beginning of it so we give thanks in jesus christ first and foremost so let me i'm gonna tell you like this real quick i'm gonna take i'm sorry y'all can have a seat let's have a seat i'm gonna tell my wife something real quick if if i go on too long i need two snaps up okay that's our signal we were supposed to work this out beforehand two stamps up if i go on too long just stand up give me two snaps up so i'm gonna give y'all a short story about my my uh my salvation here it is so i grew up in church grew up in the united church of christ uh i can tell you right now that without that upbringing i would not have become the person i became the church was the first place i saw any normalcy in life my house was not normal uh we saw a lot of alcoholism in my house my father was an alcoholic who used to beat my mama uh when i was a little kid five six years old i saw my mom and daddy fight with a claw hammer beat each other bloody saw my daddy get drunk and pass out in the kitchen and uh there's some stories i could tell you you wouldn't believe that church was the first place where i ever saw what i considered to be normal folk i saw black men in there that didn't drink who had good jobs and had you know didn't didn't beat their wives and yeah well upstanding people and i saw him and i wanted to emulate him it gave me hope that i could be that way myself that was the first place where i saw that normalcy was inside that church and i thank god for the experiences that i had in that church and the mentors that i had in that church because here it is i can look back right now in my life and think about some of the things that mentors at that church told me when i was a young man like i remember one time in particular you think about what's going on right now with all this police stuff on the black lives matter stuff this man told me one time a man named eddie hargrove told me this he said i remember i got my driver's license he told me he said you're gonna get your driver's license when you do you make sure you keep that driver's license up keep it in date make sure you keep your tags in date make sure you got all the proper papers in your car and follow the speed limits and do what you got to do he said cause those policemen out there they're not out there looking for black they're not out there looking for white they're out there looking for the irresponsible you don't want to be counted among the irresponsible if you're going to be a man you need to be responsible now remember those lessons now my wife will tell you some of them i didn't remember because my wife literally used to have to chase me with a rolling pin down there to the dmv to get that tag chain i'm bad about that i don't do it no moment she used to so growing up that's where i saw my first normalcy but there was a problem and all that the whole time i was going to church i never knew what it meant to be saved i heard the word but didn't understand what it meant and so around the fourth grade i met this tall skinny guy a lot of people might call a nerd uh his name was wayne campbell and uh me and wayne became instant friends it's i know that's a god thing cause soon as i saw wayne i said i know that guy from somewhere it just hit me like i knew him my whole life and we just fell in together automatically and became the best of friends who stayed the best of friends throughout elementary school junior high school high school all right so we stayed friends and wayne was a little settled you know when he tempered me uh not so much i had a wild streak in meetings as wide as raw all the raleigh so but me and wayne stayed on the same path and it came to pass one night that wayne campbell called me and said hey i need you to come down here to a t student union to hear this preacher and i said wayne i don't need to come down and hear no preacher i gotta preach over at saint stephen's church i know i got a church why don't i come down there he said i need you to come down here and i said uh well saturday night there's a lot of stuff i could be doing on saturday night but i guess i'll come down there and go to your church see what this is all about so i did i got my little camaro drove over there the anc student union went inside sat down with wayne campbell and i can't tell you who that man was and preached i can't tell you what he said i don't remember what the sermon was about but when i came out of that service i was a different person i gave my life that night to jesus christ and i came out here a different person but here it is and this is true a lot of people don't want to tell but i'm going to say some stuff tonight you oftentimes won't hear kick out of people like me when i got saved i didn't get changed automatically now wayne woo wayne turned all the way around said yes sir saluted he was hardcore he was all the way out there me uh well i had to take a little different route because i was hard-headed hard-headed i knew what god had for me and back then even knew what god wanted me to do but i was running didn't want to do it because i was running so i took a different route a harder route i took that route what's that man then got swallowed by that whale i took the jonah out got swallowed up by a whole lot of whales and spit out too mad a whole lot of mistakes stumble over a whole lot of logs and rocks and thistles and thorns and brides and got tangled up and a lot of stuff never should have got tangled up in the whole time i was doing that god was with me but there was that young man wayne campbell who had enough guts to stand up tell his friend that he loved that you need jesus christ come on down here and come get it you know that's what i count as a true mark of friendship somebody that will call you out when you need to get called out to make sure that the most important thing in your life gets secured and the most important thing in your life that needs securing is not your political health not your financial wealth it is your spiritual well-being where you'll spend all of eternity and he was concerned about that so he led me down near that meeting led me to get saved now let's fast forward a few years standing in the living room of my mama's house again with this same young man wayne campbell and an individual comes on television the man some of y'all might know him named rush limbaugh he came on television i looked at television said i can't stand that guy my friend looked at me and said why don't you like him i said because he's a racist my friend looked at me and said well do you know him no i don't know it he said have you ever read in his books i said no i never read any of his books he said did you listen to him on the radio i said no you never listened to him on the radio well he said behind the world you know he's a racist if you don't know him you ain't never listen to it i said because all the people on the tv are saying the man's are racist their people ain't crazy all them saying they're racist he got to be my friend looked at me and said you know what you have to be smarter than that he said plus one time you know you told me that the folks on tv say that all black people are thieves and rapists and don't take care of their children they mischaracterize black folk on television he said you told me that he said now they can be lying about black folks on tv how you know they ain't lying about rush limbaugh and i got mad at him i said well i ain't gonna say nothing else to this guy i'm gonna leave him alone i'm gonna prove him wrong went out and i bought a book by rush limbaugh and when i bought this true story when i bought that book it was highlighted sitting up on the counter i grabbed that yellow highlighter because my intention was i was going to take that book i was going to mark everything in that book that i saw it was racist and i was going to go back to him i was going to say see he said this and this racist this is racist and this is racist i got that book and i was working at kloster furniture at the time and on my break time i'd read that book i didn't get through the first chapter before i read that thing and said oh my god i think i must have read it wrote this this guy's not a racist this guy is me i read things in that book that i've been thinking my entire life since i was a child the name of the book was the way things ought to be and i was reading inside of that book the things that i sat in front of the television and looked at the television and said you know something about that don't right with me things that i'd seen in school i saw it i said you know that's not right that's not fair that's not the way that ought to be he was speaking to that in that book and again i found out for myself and it changed my life because i discovered at that moment who i really was and what i really was but it would not have been possible had not my friend stood up and challenged me to be better same way he challenged me to come down to that church and have my soul saved because he knew it wasn't same way he challenged me to stand up and be better not follow along the words of fools but stand along with truth and find out for myself so i count that young man wayne campbell as part of the reason why i'm here right now because he's the reason why i got saved led me to salvation and he led me to discover who i am in this thing called politics got politically aware became politically active my wife and i both now if y'all want to see somebody that's conservative see alonda hill at the service yolanda hill robinson will tell you what a conservative she don't play and i'm glad i got her cause i don't want no wishy-washy partner so that's how i ended up here i ended up here because i had somebody in my life that had the courage of his convictions to challenge me to be better and so then april 3rd came along april 3rd came along i had to challenge myself to be better i had to look at my look in the mirror and say you know you do awful lot of talking on facebook yeah yeah on facebook not a time for you to stand up in person where you at you know somebody told me on that day when i was thinking about going down there that meeting he looked at me and said you know it don't matter whether you go or not cause all you're gonna do is talk and talk don't get nothing done you're gonna go down there and talk and then people gonna do whatever they wanna do anyway now i had to remind him i said you know talking is what jesus did at the sermon on the mountain jesus didn't get up there with no m16 and start shooting people down he got up there and he talked he raised his voice the american revolution didn't start with the shot heard round the world the american revolution started in taverns and in homes and in churches with people talking saying why can't we be free why can't there be independence in this land why do we have to follow this king why can't we have our own nation talk gets stuff done i made up my mind that day i was gonna go down there but i wasn't gonna say nothing but i'ma tell you something once i got down there and heard some of that mess coming out in people's mouths god wouldn't let me be silent he made me stand up and he made me speak now i know what you saw bishop wooten on that video yo you saw that big black man standing up now pointing and doing this here but i'm gonna show you what you didn't see here's what you didn't see you didn't see from here down [Applause] my legs was trembling like a rubber goose i had no idea what was going on and when i left the place and walked out there and went home my wife asked me said did you go to the meeting i said yes she said did you speak i said yes she said what did you say i said i don't know didn't have a clue what i said but that night was a god moment god put me behind that lectern because here it is i truly believe because of those words of the declaration and independence because we've given honor to god in this nation and put him first at every turn and at every every time we get in trouble in this nation we call on him because of that right now in this nation he sees them demons on cnn and abc and cbs and all the rest of them facebook and twitter he's looking dead at him and he said you might look out there and you might think ain't nobody coming for you but i'm raging i'm raising a regiment right now i'm raising a regiment right this minute and on april 3rd he counted me as one of them and i thank god for it so that's how i ended up right here now that's about as political as i'm going to get tonight because i am an elected official now duly elected sworn got a political team and all that that being said there are certain things as an elected official that i'm not supposed to say but i'm going to say them anyway and somebody might ask me why are you going to sell them anyway it might cost you your seat it might cost you some political points from the unaffiliated and uh the swing voters and you know you might end up on wral let me tell you something i'm not worried about but one thing one thing when i leave out of here no matter how it may be i'm not gonna stand in front of w-r-a-l i'm not gonna stand in front of cnn i'm not gonna stand in front of no cuomo or that other little lemon i'm not gonna stand in front of none of them creeps i'm not gonna stand in front of the supreme court a congressman or senator the president nobody else i'm gonna stand in front of god almighty and i'm gonna give an account for everything that comes out of my mouth and every deed i've done while i'm sat in this seating any other i may take and you best believe i'm not gonna miss my chance to say certain things them things them political advisors say you shouldn't say now what are they here's one of them right here that baby in your womb ain't no clump of tails [Applause] and if you kill that child you're guilty of murder stop sacrificing your children to bail and start honoring the fruit of your womb you know i heard somebody say it like this if you don't want to have no fruit in that womb don't drop your fruit of the loons make your choice before you make your choice [Applause] this ain't no game this ain't no game god is watching this nation the most innocent among us are the defenses and the voiceless in the womb and we are murdering them with impunity yes i said murdering them with impunity and let's get down to brass tacks who is it that's being murdered i ain't never drove over through irvine park and greensboro seen no planned parenthood i ain't never drove over on the rich west side of town where the nice chops are and right in the middle there's a planned parenthood set now but go down in the ghetto where the poor folk black folk live that's where they apply their stock and trade tell you come on in here sacrifice your children to bail see because the whole plan from the very beginning was to get rid of them human weeds they called negroes you're not hiding it from me i knew your plans before you made them because god told me god peeped your whole car before you open your mouth we need to be the generation of people that stands up and ends that terrible institution of abortion and i'm not ashamed to tell you and i'm not ashamed to tell wrl abortion is murder and until we stop it we're gonna have trouble in this nation we're gonna have trouble amongst our people [Applause] so i'm not afraid to stand up and say abortion is murder now what else is something a politician i'm not supposed to say i'm supposed to be politically correct see politically correct take the words political politics what's in politics a bunch of double talking liars and cowards feel the ranks of politicians they want society to be politically correct if society is politically correct guess what it's going to be full of double talking lies who are cowards and refuse to tell the truth don't count me among your rights your ranks cause here's something else i'm not supposed to say ain't but two genders two genders [Applause] ain't nothing but men and women and i can already see wrl out there they got they licking their pencils around trying to write fiercely so they can't get every word in this hill get every word of this you can go to the doctor and get cut up you can go down to the dress shop and get made up you can go down there and get drugged up but at the end of the day you were just a drugged up dressed up made up cut up man or woman you ain't changed what god put in you that dna [Applause] you can't transcend god's creation i don't care how hard you try the transgender movement in this country if there's a movement in this country that is demonic and that is full of anti-the spirit of antichrist it is the transgender movement and this shame people are gonna tell me you need to believe in global warming and then they tell me follow the signs follow the signs you don't even know what gender you are what do you know about science we don't even need science to prove what you're in new york it's two ways i can do this thing here it's a simple way we can go around the corner right here to the bathroom drop your pants or whatever you got on and i can show you what you are or i can take a little blood out your arm and take it down here to the scientist he can put in his little petri dish and look at it oh this is the dna of a white male yes well is there anything in between that no it's the dna of a white male don't matter what you did down there at the therapy doctor and all that now let me tell you something that being said now you got the right to do whatever you want to do we don't live in the theocracy you got the right to call yourself whatever you want to call yourself if you want to call yourself a cocker spaniel go ahead you want to go down here to the dressmaker say make me a cocker spaniel suit that i can fit in i'm gonna put it on i'm gonna run around bark all the time go ahead you can run around here and be a cocker spaniel all day long but i ain't got to follow you in your delusion [Applause] when i see you i ain't going to say let go that cocker spaniel i'm going to say there go that weirdo in that dog suit that man thinks he's a dog but he's a he's not really a dog he's a man it's time for grown-ups and time for christians to start standing up and being unafraid to tell the truth come after me if you want to i don't care you want my head here it is right here come on come get it i don't care because it's time for us to stand up now i'm not afraid to stand up and tell the truth about that issue but dragging our kids down into the pit of hell trying to teach them that mess in our schools tell you like this that ain't got no place at no school two plus two don't equal transgender it equals four you need to get back to teaching them how to read instead of teaching them how to go to hell yeah i said it and i mean now here's something else here's something else i'm not supposed to say now i'm not supposed to say this because i'm an elected official and it's not politically correct but when it comes time to stand on somebody's side between the criminal and the police believe i'ma ride with the police [Applause] see i had somebody on social media get mad at me one time because i said instead of us concentrating on the headache of police brutality we need to be dealing with the cancer of systemic violence in black neighborhoods young black men and women murdering each other with drugs and guns and knives and baseball bats killing each other killing each other over corners they don't even own themselves [Applause] that's the issue we need to be dealing with they got mad and said well how you gonna call police brutality just a headache i think that's a little understatement there a headache i don't think that's quite right now i had to stop him right in the tracks and explaining to them look here police brutality is a headache here's why headache can be many things right a headache could just be a headache called you hangry and you ain't had enough to eat i get them sometimes all you need to do is pop a couple aspirins and eat you a good meal your headache is gone oh a headache could be because you don't have to sit in the center all day and listen to people talk about why we ought to be able to kill babies oh you know you get that stress headache now you go home take a tylenol stress lay down hit it gone oh a headache could be a migraine y'all know that ain't no joke you might need to go to the doctor for that migraine and get a prescription to take care of it or worst case scenario that headache might be a symptom of a brain tumor you need to get down there real quick that oncologist and that surgeon and have some surgery done see police brutality could be any of those things it might just be one man on the force that just needs to be removed it might be two or three it might be one squad or it might be the whole unit needs to be wiped out that's right but the one thing about it is this you can't ignore a headache no matter what cause it came from and you can't ignore police brutality whether it be one man or the whole squad you can't ignore it but here's what you don't do when you get a headache you don't cut your head off and when you find police brutality you don't defund the police you stand with the police and defend the police and help the police get them bad actors out of their ranks so they can get back out there and start dealing with that cancer we got that's right why you think these criminals out here so bold these days they bold because the church is silent the city council is complicit and the police are handcuffed and they know it time for us to stand up and start speaking the truth need to get down there that police station as good citizens are saying what do you need from us to do your job better [Applause] what do you need from us to do your job better and get them bad guys out your ranks and make sure you can get back out there and stop them drug dealers and them prostitutes people out there that's just perpetually victimizing their own neighborhoods you see this kind of talk gets me into trouble with my own people with my own people somebody told me one time said you know people gonna hate you just cause of the color of your skin i told them i said more people gonna hate me that's got the same color skin that i got cause i think different than they do they asked me they said why are you so hard on black people why are you so hard why you got to insult black want to people the truth i'm telling the truth and love cause i love black folk i love our story of survival see some people think i have to be ashamed when you talk about it to be a shame when you talk about the middle passage folks chained together in their own ways in the belly of wooden ships coming over here to be slaves on sugar plantation and cotton plantations planting indigo rice we ought to be shamed i'm not ashamed that my ancestors came over here in their own field chained together in the bottle of menships because you know what it tells me most people would survive the trip not only did we survive the trip we have survived everything that came after the trip [Music] [Applause] we are strong and powerful people who have proven our metal in this nation that flag that flies has got blood on it and for every drop of blood on it ten drops of blood belong to us we ain't got nothing to be ashamed of you ask me why i am like i am i am like i am because here it is i'm looking at kings and queens and lions and lionesses and you acting like slaves and sheep and it's got to stop it's gotta stop somebody might say well you know we're supposed to be sheep you're supposed to be a sheep you're supposed to be meek and mild as a lamb you're supposed to be meek and mild in a lamb as a as a sheep to the shepherd but to the wicked that oppose you you are supposed to be as bold as a lion you're supposed to stand unafraid ready to do battle for your god who bought you through that middle passage bought you through those slaves plantations bought you through jim crow [Music] [Applause] and will bring you past critical race theory and black lives matter the same god that took us out those slave plantations will take our young women out of these abortion clinics you better stand and be bold stop letting these folks tell you you're a victim your history tells you you are a victim because you done threw everything you could at me and i'm still here i'm still standing i took a knee yet [Applause] ain't been no standing they count my mouthpiece is still in and my fists are still up i ain't nobody's victim i'm a victim in the jesus christ the god that i serve makes me a victim it's time for us to stand up and claim our birthright as kings and queens and lions and lionesses and not sheep and slaves that's not who we were born to be and that's not what our ancestors left to us it's time for us to walk into it and there's some other stuff i'm not supposed to say either you know some other stuff i'm not supposed to say i'm not i'm not supposed to say stuff about them guns you know i'm not supposed to say everybody you know it's all right for you to own a gun [Applause] i'm supposed to be telling people you know we supposed to have guns because guns kill people gangs kill people pig guns they kill people and if we get rid of guns people quit killing each other go ahead tell you like this uh cain didn't handle gun they had not been invented here matter of fact the way i read my bible god didn't even mention the weapon can't use he just said he slew it and then when it was time for god to issue the punishment you know that i love i love this thing that people love to talk to uh you be your brother's keeper be your brother's keeper you you need to be your brother's keeper the biblical principle of being your brother's keeper look him being your brother's keeper that was saying something by a smart alec who was defined god that's right that's right let me say that again being your brother's keeper is something that's said by a murdering smart aleck who was defying god smarting off the god right in his face about the brother he had killed and when it was time for god to speak god didn't say no you are your brother's keeper he didn't come out and say you know you really shouldn't use that ar-15 to slay your brother we need to get rid of automatic weapons they're killing our children god looked at cain and said the ground cries out with your brother's blood and then he commenced up issuing the sentence against cain it's time for us to get back to that principle see i got fo joe biden and all the rest i want you to notice i got four ar-15s in my house [Applause] if you want them come get them but you're gonna have a hard time ain't going easy and i ain't shamed to say it not supposed to say that i'm a elected official i'm a politician but it's time for us to get back to put putting the blame where it go blame don't go on the gun the blame go on the one holding the gun i guarantee you right now and get rid of every gun in america every gun in the world guess what's still going to exist murder worst acts of mass murder committed on this planet being committed without guns genghis khan didn't have no guns jeffrey dahmer didn't use no guns them hijackers on 911 didn't have no guns timothy mcveigh in oklahoma didn't have no gun well no gun that's right what no whoa what no gun that human hear a shame whoa lord and show what gun is not the problem the part problem is the hearted man it's the problem i want you to think about this same people who gonna tell you that you shouldn't have an ar-15 same people gonna tell me as a fifth and three-year-old army veteran who's been trained by some of the finest people and how to handle weapons gonna tell me that i don't have enough sense to own a ar-15 the same people going to turn around and tell a five-year-old they can determine their gender [Applause] if that don't tell you what kind of chaos we're living in you better check the name on some of these people we pushing at the ballot box you better find out what it is they believe in because i can guarantee you some of them up there in washington some of them in raleigh some of them on your city council if they had their way right now they'd march it here and throw us all in chains throw us out of here and burn this building to the ground the young lady was up here talking about the separation of church and state you know why people talk about that they don't talk about it because they don't want uh politics in the church they don't want the church in politics well they know if the church comes up in it the real church the church of jesus christ comes up in it he's gonna drag a little pesky thing called the truth with them and then them politicians and they spend doctors gonna stop well oh my god i'm not really sure what to say about let me consul let me circle back on that see we need people in office who understand when you get up there to heaven and you stand before the almighty your little political consultant ain't gonna be up there with you telling you what to say little spin doctors they ain't gonna be here you ain't gonna be able to stand there and spout off no critical race theory to god almighty you ain't gonna be able to stand there and say well you know i would have done better but that white man that white man treated me so bad when i was on earth i can almost hear god looking at you saying you know what we ain't here to talk about that white man uh he'll be here in april uh uh uh you sir are here right now and i'm not here to talk about how he treated you i'm here to talk about how you reacted to his retreatment of you and what you did for your neighbors and what you did for your family and what you did for me in my name see all this stuff i'm not supposed to be saying this there's no elected official but again i have said this over and over again i don't care about no politics politics ain't gonna get you into heaven now it will get you into hell you better believe it will get you in the hell with some gasoline draws on see because my ultimate mission in life i want y'all to hear me when i say this i'm not going to shy away from this i'm a problem i'm an elected official i am a republican i am a proud republican but here it is before i ever gotten this thing i made a commitment to myself that the one thing i want to do above everything else is lead people to jesus christ see because the greatest decision you'll make on this earth is not whether or not you're a republican right or democrat or liberal right or conservative because whether or not you're going to go to heaven or whether or not you're going to go to hell whether or not you're going to follow god or whether or not you're going to follow the world you see because i'm not here to try to drag you kicking and screaming towards the gop the dnc or any of them other things i'm here to drag you kicking and screaming towards g.o.d that's who we need to have our eyes on you can't do nothing else without it [Applause] you got to make sure any endeavor that you do the first thing you put is what my mama used to say my mama used to tell us all the time you can do anything you want to do anything the only thing you need to do is put your hand in god's hand and let him lead the way if we do those things we don't have to be afraid we can stand and stand boldly righteously like a lion like a lioness proclaim the truth and not be afraid the ultimate mission is to lead people to jesus christ if we can get them there all these other problems we talked about tonight they'll solve itself so that's what i want to leave you here with tonight i stand here tonight because of jesus christ i stand here tonight for jesus christ let's move together and continue to fight for jesus christ and fight for his word and spread his word and do his gospel god bless you all god bless this church and god bless the great state of north carolina thank you [Music] [Music] everybody praise the lord everybody praise the lord when was the first time you ever heard a politician talk like that i love it somebody praise god for our lieutenant governor we're about to go home but there may be someone here tonight who don't know jesus christ i told you when we invited him this is not going to be a political rally it's not an election season so it couldn't couldn't be for votes but we're having a church service and i asked him to come and speak as a man of god he sure did that with power authority and without apology that's my kind my kind of preaching my kind of man and he made a defense for the gospel and every there was nothing he said that conflicts with the bible the doctrine of our church i know most of you i hear what you preach there's nothing he said that conflicts with what you preach on sunday mornings and if there's something he said that conflicts with what you preach based on what we heard tonight you might want to check what you've been preaching because what he said is so there may be someone who don't know jesus christ jesus loves you jesus died for you jesus wants to set you free and if you don't know the lord tonight the altar is open we'll take the time to pray for you and to lead you to our sake to the savior he's our savior he loves you those who are streaming tonight there may be somebody watching who don't know the lord who want to pray for you pray with you that you would give your heart to the lord pray with me lord jesus i confess you as lord of my life tell the lord i believe that you've raised jesus from the dead and right now i accept jesus in my heart as my personal savior thank you lord jesus for saving me i receive jesus right now in jesus name amen and amen hallelujah hallelujah if you've prayed that prayer with us the next thing i want you to do is to find someone and tell them that you've given your heart to the lord jesus confession is made into salvation the heart man believes but with the mouth confession is made tell somebody i prayed with that preacher on television and i gave my heart to the lord then you need to find a good church a good bible preaching church it doesn't have to be the biggest church it doesn't have to be the prettiest church it doesn't have to be the most popular church typically they're not the ones preaching jesus anyhow find a good church where they're preaching the word of god and get in there and if you can't find one call us we'll help you 919-829-6160 we'll take your call and try to place you in a good ministry because as the lieutenant governor the reverend lieutenant governor said tonight the most important thing is to be right with god the most important thing whether you get reelected whatever whether you're rich or poor because all of us are leaving here all of us uh we have a date did you hear what he said tonight he said you ain't gonna stand before the lord and tell talk about what that white man did he said lord said he's coming in april so he'll be here a few days i'm dealing with you for the bible teacher that every man shall give an account of the deeds done in his own body isn't that something because what he's pointed out and we're going home that most of what we're hearing today is an attack on biblical christianity when they say the cure to pass racism is current racism well the bible teaches that we're not to be overcome with evil but we're to overcome evil with good so then how are you going to become what you loathe to get to to make things right that makes no sense at all as christians we got to stick with the doctrine and we've been blessed tonight if all hearts and minds are clear we know that in the morning the service starts at 9 30. it's women's day the the announcements have been given i'm i'm sending the alarm out to all of the missionaries ladies be in place tomorrow all day and tomorrow
