This was freaky. 17,000 miles an hour in atmosphere against a headwind of 150 knots with no wings or exhaust. My only problem is they both said they watched it for 5 minutes and it was right in front of their jets and no one thought to turn on a camera?

We could just be seeing the mouse cursors of the people running our simulation, just saying.

This is wild and it's awesome that this was just broadcast on US mainstream media last night.

UFO's are real. None of this is proving "aliens". Documents are blacked out to hide information that they don't want released that could be irrelevant to the UFO seen. For example, a document could indicate where a pilot was flying, in what type of aircraft (maybe it was a new experimental one the government was working on) and as they were flying, they reported seeing something else occupying the space in a distance. In the report they'll add everything including the pilot's location and the vehicle. Of course they're going to black all of that out, I wouldn't want you to know where I live or what car I drive. But they are required by law through some agreement I can't currently remember the name of to release information they have on UFO's. So in the document all you see is a bunch of blacked out info with "and the pilot saw an unidentified flying object".

There's definitely a real phenomenon here that's existed for decades and it's difficult to believe it is a technology from another country that the US military wouldn't recognize or be able to match.

Either it's a highly top secret US government/military tech that is very compartmentalized, or well, aliens/dimensional beings.

That might seem absurd to some, but let's remember we can see there are a least two trillion galaxies in the observable universe, each with hundreds of billions of stars all with at least one planet orbiting them. To say we are alone or have all of physics figured out would be naive. I just don't know if we will discover the "truth" during our lifetime.

It's bizarre that the subject has been treated in such a way for so long.

It is just about the most interesting topic imaginable. We lose nothing by discussing it like adults in a nuanced way.

We could have a show on major network television that takes a sober look at the topic, but is not dismissive and doesn't presume to know the truth, every week, and gets treated like a rational news show. It could take the place of some awful reality show or sitcom.

There's a lot we don't know about the Universe, and even if we knew 99%, the missing 1% could overturn the rest. That said, given our existing knowledge about physics, it seems very hard to believe that lifeforms could and would travel from another star system to ours. The time and energy requirements are so very dear. In other words, a lot of our scientific understanding of the Universe would have to change if these seemingly real incidents turn out to be extraterrestrial visitations.

Still, we don't know what the truth of the matter is and we lose a great deal more by pretending to know the answer than by investigating it with the sense of wonder and enthusiasm it deserves.
