dale earnhardt jr four straight wins at talladega they're banging into each other at 190 miles an hour here comes junior he's got a run kenzit tried to close him up it's gonna be borderline guys that's gonna be borderline format kentuc is getting pushed by everybody and he and jimmy johnson has ever led in a race but it might all be negated because they're getting a penalty i mean you see the jack man he's a stall away the jackman's already in the pit box so i've never heard that you can go back and reset it against pit wall i mean the penalty is the penalty obviously the jack man had a quick reaction that well if i go back maybe they won't call it he obviously knew he was early i don't think that's an option nascar will let us know but they're calling the penalty on the nine being too early so for a pit crew member the play of the year for that jack man to have enough thought to say i know i'm early i'm going back to pit wall zefke that is i'm talking mvp move if the nine goes on into the championship fourth that single move by the jackman could be the difference 100 awareness unbelievable 100 awareness and you can see how allen was extremely happy with that his understanding to go back to pinwald sonoma california the good news for jimmy johnson who leads the bad news for denny hamlin that's some driving right there [Music] he's got to be driving i know how the the here's what happens here and and we'll look obviously when he came down pit road he's doing i i can't believe he's keeping this thing on on the racetrack right now okay maybe his spotter is talking him around but he's doing a great job and he's still carrying some speed man out there on his height it was a show he run down the racetrack and then he's not giving him any room at all i want to tell you what this is a show no there's only one solution to this park them both what are you gonna do about chase but look at the enjoyment we're getting yeah if he is considered to have been getting from nascar remember i told you that brian scott was called back in for a missing lug nut well it turns out they were wrong so what they are going to do is slow everybody down and give scott his position back yeah it's not unprecedented that happened a long time ago i was earnhardt's crew chief at rockingham and they we made a green flag stop said we had a loose slug or a missing lug nut and uh we didn't so they did the same thing but haven't seen that in quite a few years you see the bumper flailing on the back of the nine of chase elliott that's because the bad blood from three weeks ago at bristol has played out here at the royal created caution nascar also has the opportunity to look at this and black flag the nine they have taken guys and made him come to pit road to clean it up we'll just have to see what nascar thinks about the tail i did ask the tail is not required here there is a question you know at some high speed tracks [Music] now another ever ham team coming out to try and get him restarted and push him down pit road he stalled the car already may be out of fuel that's right while he's out of fuel they were not planning on coming down and apparently the fuel pressure bobbled the crew got up on the wall and then casey spun out coming to pit road is uh he asked if he could stop in jeremy mayfield's kit but as crew chief told him that's not legal mayfield's true trying to push him down here as you see jimmy the question is they lose so johnson was heading for a run on him got a run here they come i can't go down there and do that though actually i think it's legal on the last lap he might have got it right there i think it's legal on the last lap here's the replay again watch a zero one and he got forced down there i mean tony stewart actually forced him down a little bit well yeah if he gonna consider that he only yeah they are saying tony stewart has won the race tony stewart is the official winner here at talladega they would not the 17 and the 24 they're gonna try to block eric gets up into the wall now the 24 a big rug he slides they make more contact three wide as they come out of four hamlet to the inside side draft coming from the 24 car denny hamlin william byron through the tribal coming up to the stripe and as they go across the stripe a photo finish denny hamlin gets the nod yeah he gets forced down there that 17 had come down the racetrack he does but then he goes and he advances his position to these two cars speak with ron malik who's the car chief on the 48 he did confirm to me that jeff gordon's crew the 2014 will hit the 48 when the 48 comes for its next stop seven pit stops for the 48 today and they've lost positions on pit road in four of those stops kyle bush is the leader and he controls the restart as long as he goes in between those two lines on the wall okay he doesn't go doesn't go doesn't go now the green flag comes out now brad keselowski is legal to go and the race has started and that's why they've placed him as a leader here when this caution did come out brings him down he's a few inches ahead and all of a sudden here goes the uh 18 now did he jump too soon well it looks to me like he did but i'd have to look at it and see on those hash marks on the wall but it looked to me like he did go as the green flag came out nascar is taking a look at it we'll let you know what they decide it is and we are going to post the 18 car and they're going to put his name or his number up on the board and put the black this is the second time we've seen the hood fly off of the 11th denny hamilton this time though it looks as though the hood pins have been knocked out it wasn't just put on it looks as though he may have hit someone and knocked those pins out of the front of that car and he's able to continue on because he can see through the flap in the hood where the flap opens in case the car spins it keeps it on the ground that's directly in front of him so that's blown up but he's actually looking through that hole that's how he's able to keep he hasn't completed his first lap yet so he can go back around and re-run if you will the warm-up off of three and four to come to start his second time lap looks like he got against the wall a little bit [Music] thank you well due to the darkness they're saying that they are not going to reach they're not going to restart this race because of the darkness on the racetrack here and it is going to finish as promised on lap 210. that's why you see these guys down there in the roush fenway pits celebrating everything looks very dark looking from a driver's perspective so congratulations to greg biffle huh it looks like that black duck's going to get a checker here greg biffle 37 year old driver had gone 28 races his last win was at homestead at the end of finale of 2006. you know i've never seen a driver cross the start finish line then turn around and go back the other way i think i'd have made another lap you know just to make sure the field is frozen you see all these guys moving around each other the field has already been frozen as long as these cars just drive across the line they're going freezing where they were craig just pulls down and all these other guys passing but he's still the winner jerry it's very interesting coming to the start finish line the last time though i know you and the 07 were sort of interested in whether or not the 16 might be the victor yeah he was clearly out of gas i feel terrible for greg he's been working so hard to win a race and his uh you know if they're in position to win it but if you don't maintain pace car speed you don't you don't hold your position and it was clear to everyone that he couldn't do it if he could have he would have stayed on the bumper of the pace card or the finish line so in my opinion where he coasted across the finish line relative to the other cars that could maintain pit road speed is where he should finish what are your thoughts right now i don't know what to think you know i mean i thought you at least had to finish on your own power across the finish line uh you know i don't know if he was supposed to wait on him or what was supposed to do but um you know nonetheless it was a good day that answers that question yeah [Music] hey dave betty's taking tires now dave he is but the question is two or four if they take two they can do it very quickly on the fuel because they don't need much there you see mirrors the 42 he is the race leader but not at the front of that line allen well here's what carl edwards can't understand from the cockpit of his race car and what his crew chief pierre cattell is trying to get explained to him from down here if carl stayed on the racetrack and casey mears came down pit road casey would have had to have stopped at the end of pit road until the cars on the racetrack filed past him and then joined into the tail of the line so they want to know how come casey stopped and was able to get in front of them on the racetrack for this restart do you have the answer to that allen uh no i'd like somebody to call that one i mean that that kyle and wally that is how it works when you come down pit road you're supposed to fall in at the end of the line of cars that are on the racetrack right that's right under yellow yeah right so that's what they can't understand down here is how a guy that pitted gets the lineup in front of them when they were on the lead lap when the yellow came out yeah they were a mile and a half behind but they were on the lead lap and the pace car did pick up casey mears as the leader so they're trying to figure out how he was able to get past that stop light at the end of pit road and get in front of them on the racetrack is it a stoplight or is there a guy down there with a paddle uh they have the big red and green light down here yeah so here's mirrors [Music] now we're looking for that light there's that light see that red light there blinking that's red that's red [Music] yeah they're trying to sort this out that's why they haven't gone back to green and there it's green yeah that's not enough yeah that's not enough distance to make any difference no and i don't remember i mean i don't know how he ends up in front of him you got me on that one um because technically just like they say if he comes down pit road he should be back behind him if we looked at the scoring monitor he should be the 60 car should be leading the race everybody else should be behind him right because the 60 car was the last car was was the car that was the tail end of the lead lap right in front of him on the racetrack when the car should come out but knowing that but if you knowing that shouldn't you if you knew that was going to happen you should have stopped to put tires on unless the only the only the last comes around the racetrack once the car should come out if he just kind of took his time to get around the racetrack then they had time to come in and out maybe but no matter what he should have blended to the longest line okay they've said the 60 is the race leader and obviously brad's not
