hey everyone so for today's video what we're going to be doing is we're going to be setting up this nano fish tank behind me without any filter or heater so let's get started [Music] all right so here is the little bowl thing that i'm going to be using i got this bowl at walmart for around eight dollars and i think it holds around maybe a gallon to a gallon a half of water i haven't really checked i'm gonna have these little seeds that i got off of amazon you're supposed to put them in the gravel and they're supposed to grow little tiny plants in the gravel so hopefully these will actually grow because they're three years old and i have used them in the past i mean they worked kind of cool and they kind of died off after a month so hopefully those will work i have some extra fluidal stratum from when we set up this tank if you haven't seen that video i'll leave it in the description below so go check that out and i just have some rocks i'm going to try and go for kind of like a stonehenge kind of look so i'm going to go ahead and add the gravel right now and now i'm going to start adding the rocks i just got the final shape that i wanted you can kind of see it looks kind of like stone hedge what i'm going to be doing next i'm going to super glue the rock that's on top just so it doesn't move around or anything and now what i'm going to do is i'm just going to add a little bit of water and get ready to start planting the seeds so now that the gravel is all wet i'm going to be adding the seeds it's going to be putting them right on top and they should just sprout over time now i'm gonna fill the bowl with water two weeks later it's been two weeks since i planted the seeds and as you can see they have all sprouted i mounted the light from the marineland portrait aquarium on here and it's just looking really awesome now what i need to do is i need to do a water change i'm gonna take the water out of this tank and replace it with some water from there from an established tank so hopefully i'll get the bacteria colony nice and started so i just got done draining all of the water and it looks way different without water everything's super magnified when it's filled up and when i take the water out everything looks so much smaller now i'm just gonna fill it up with some water so now that it's all filled up with water i think it's about time that we add some livestock i already added a few snails a few days ago but now i'm gonna add some shrimp to this tank so the shrimp that i'm gonna be adding to that tank are some cherry shrimp for my old five gallon tank that i just redid this is the old five gallon tank that was replaced it's just been sitting in the spare room with a little bit of water and there are quite a few shrimp still in here so i'm going to take those out and put them in the new tank here are all the shrimp out of that old tank this is actually the second batch of shrimp that i'm going to be putting in the new tank the first batch was all of the big easy to catch shrimp and these are all the smaller ones that are super hard to catch so i'm gonna go ahead and add them to the tank i have this little net set up right here so i'm just gonna dump this in it and then i'm gonna put them in the new tank [Music] one hour later all right so it's been around an hour since i put the shrimp in the tank and they seem to be doing just fine they all like to hide underneath this structure right here this tank turned out a lot better than i thought it would i had a lot of concerns with this tank like for starters i didn't even know if the seeds would sprout and obviously they did i wasn't sure how i was gonna mount this light but i figured it out use some duct tape like i said this is the light from the marineland portrait aquarium i didn't end up using it on that tank so i thought it'd be perfect for this one the snails that i put in here are doing just fine as well they're cruising around one thing that i'm really not sure of are these plants at the bottom i really don't know how well they're gonna do in the long term so i got these seeds off of amazon if you go on amazon and look up aquarium plant seeds these are probably some of the first things that will show up and there's just a huge variety i just have no idea what type of plant this is and when i used them before they did really well for the first few months and they just kind of started to die off so i'm not really sure if i should go ahead and trim them once they start to grow a lot or if i should just leave them and let them be that's the only thing i'm not really sure about in this tank but everything else will hopefully do just fine i'm not going to be putting any fertilizer in here because the plants in here should be drawing most of their nutrients from the substrate every day i'll be changing a cup of water out of here just until it's a little more established and i'll be feeding the shrimp some expired pleco wafers that expired in 2016. that's what i was feeding them in the old tank and they seem to be doing just fine one bad thing is that little shrimp right there is dead so i'm not sure why that happened that's really unfortunate but all the other shrimps seem to be alive and yeah that is pretty much all i have to say about this tank that's gonna do it for today's video i hope you guys enjoyed like always
