My Wife Reacts To J Cole/Kendrick/Drake Diss Tracks & Apology

that's hilarious I I was like oh wow I didn't I didn't know Drake was uh I was not familiar with his game hi I'm Marie I'm Molly uh today we'll be discussing um the whole jcole Kendrick Lamar Drake drama um today's April 8th Monday so yesterday we actually recorded uh Molly's reaction to the drama yeah to a first person shooter like that and 7-minute drill and then woke up this morning to find J has apologized to to Kendrick Lamar so um at this point we'll play the reactions from yesterday and then um after that we're going to discuss the uh apology that jcole issued to Kendrick lar so uh yeah so we just get started I feel like guys are are way more into drama than girls that's the thing like I don't care about I don't care about celebrities in general I don't I don't care about their drama Archie loves drama I don't like I he L drama in basketball and drama in music that's right yeah you do I just like to keep up with the news the current events you know and I keep seeing this everywhere people have asked about it in comments and I have no idea what's going on so I would like to okay I would like to know yeah I'm going to preface this by saying like uh you're not going to understand everything I don't even understand everything to be honest and you've never been you haven't really been exposed to any like disc songs or warning shots I guess whatever so like yeah I don't expect you to pick up all the bars and all this stuff I don't think they expect you to know I think it was just more about like what's going on and yeah so uh we're going to be covering three tracks today first person shooter just for reference um like that and also 7 minute drill and we just kind of discuss the different um bars or like what everything means and obviously if we miss anything then you can let us know just yeah all of the drama I'll probably say that throughout the video because I don't know the the ins and outs and all the little details that maybe the the the real fans the core fans really know about but um as you know all these three are kind of helded as the best three of the the top three of this generation obviously this caus for a lot of drama mhm so um I think we'll just get into the first song M it's called the first person shooter this is a song that um got Drake the number like I think he tied with Michael Jackson on this one for most number one songs this is the one where they're playing chess yes so we'll discuss that afterwards um and then jcole this is the first number one song ever onboard yeah okay so anyway um this is from the album for all the dogs that came out last year mhm and uh yeah okay first turning your a funeral them [ __ ] say they office you better be talking about working in CU them boys had a lot but I knew hear the lyrics it's like just so like phrases yeah wow I told you bro he was saying some funny stuff in here yeah wow I there was a part I really appreciated she call my number and leave her hanging she got dry clean she got an Android her messages is lime green I search one name and I end up seeing seeing 20 and then ttings and then he started seeing Nadine Christine all of that then they send me naked pictures it's the small things that's hilarious I I was like oh wow I didn't I didn't know Drake was uh I was not familiar with his game yeah there you go but I'm going to obviously be honest I did I did prefer what J Cool was seeing for sure um I preferred his verses um however I like I thought this I was under the impression that so this is not a d song No but it's it's kind of implied because they're talking about how they're like the big three yeah and they're both hyping themselves up and then there was a line in there from jcole the Spider-Man meme is me looking at Drake so he's saying that he and Drake are the best after the mansion in which verse The Mansion K do love when they argue The Hardest MC is it K do is it Aubrey is it me and then after that he says a Spider-Man meme is me looking a drake yeah so he's saying that he and are the best right and the Kendrick Lamar is the ler of the three that's that's what guess so I don't I don't care if it's not a this track yeah that's so mean but also you you were mentioning like about the chess cuz you know how they redid the Ronaldo Messi yeah and and I actually yeah and Ronaldo and Messi are like the best in the world the two best in the world so they're saying they're the two best in the world yeah now I have to say KRA Lamar is incredible mhm and I would not stand for that yeah if you're Kendrick lar yes yeah wow you picked up a lot on that one I would be pissed off I would be pissed off that's great you picked up pretty much the the gist of it um just to give you some context so I guess I forget what year this was this was but it was like a few years ago Kendrick Lamar dropped a ver dropped a song called called control uh he was he was a feature on that MH so on the verse he called out everybody Everybody by name he called all these rappers by name jcole Drake everybody says I love you guys but I'm going to kill all of you pretty much and then uh I think Drake when he when they asked him about it like months or years down the line he said something like well nobody can [ __ ] with me pretty much paraphrasing and so they've been throwing little shots at each other like little lyrics like little bars here and there you guys can comment down below like what the actual Bars were cuz I didn't really look into it like so the second song is called uh like that it's actually um from Futures album M I think you've heard future before on Travis Scott's album 3500 or something oh yeah I think it was on 3500 and um so anyway uh future had released an album with Metro boomman a producer uh this was two weeks ago two three weeks ago M and it's um it's the number one album Okay and like that is the nor one song okay on Billboard and um this is the Lamar this Kendrick Lamar is on this song yeah okay and his verse sorry his verse is on this okay verse everyone's going crazy about so uh we'll probably just we'll just listen to it and then we can talk about it more after okay nothing to do with with um Aubrey so I I caught some references mhm in there um obviously I want to get all of them some I thought were funny he said [ __ ] sneak diss in first person shooter right I cemetery this this is such Dr yeah this is hilarious actually I didn't pick up on what all of the lyrics meant I'm sure there are tons of references in there that I will not be familiar with cuz I'm I'm not I'm not that's okay but but what did they expect was going to happen is what I want to know because how how do they like they made a song together jcole andry even if they're not directly seeing it they made this song acknowledging that they are the big three I'm basically saying but we're the two best of the big three did they think Kendrick Lamar would just be like and then they actually went on tour after that together I'm going to be honest what I've heard from Drake I don't I don't want to take sides here I don't know how Drake feels like he can compare to someone like Kendrick lar mhm that's the only yeah opinion I'm going to give there but what did they expect was going to happen when I first heard this I thought it was just strictly uh Drake mhm cuz when he says he's he's talking about how like your best work is a pack Prince outlived Mike Jack cuz you know how he's um Dr Compares himself to Michael Jackson oh and so he's saying like you know Prince has outlived them and then obviously like you CAU the for all the dogs getting buried it's a k with all these n so K9 K like AK47 NES like are guns MH um but also K9 like for dogs yeah and then pet cemetery there was several that exactly these dudes talking out their necks don't pull no coffin out of your mouth and the way first person shooter starts is first person shooter mode returning your song to a funeral oh yeah so like he says don't pull no coffin out of your mouth like coughing but also coughing so it's a multi-layered double on tandas in there and yeah so even though it was directed at Drake I feel like obviously jle caught some Strays in that one so at this point at this point people are like okay Drake has to come back like he has to respond to this and yeah and the thing the thing about that is like what is what is Drake going to say about Kendrick Lamar that's what I mean like what what can anyone say about Kendrick Lamar yeah like that guy is critically critically acclaimed and he sells records I think he's like one of the most talented people in the world but anyway um W waking up uh the other day I guess Friday um I saw on the phone that J Cole responded are they actually angry each other or is it all just fun and games I think I think um I think two things are happening I think Drake and Kendrick Lamar don't like each other so I think that verse was mostly directed at Drake but also like saying hey J J.Cole like I'm I'm also better than you I think with J.Cole and Kendrick they're they're like peers but they just want one up each other so it's more respect like sport I guess another thing I'll explain to you is uh so future and Metro boomman that was their album MH um so apparently they have a feud now with Drake as well so everybody so at this point everybody's expecting and Kendrick Lamar going at it oh so they're like we need Drake to say something you have to say something but J Cole's stepping in but J Cole stepped in a yeah he didn't have to do it J Cole's supposed to be really nice yeah but he's doing it for the for the competition he's doing it for the goat status okay so I think you just listen to ITC a cold keep the heat under your seat I got a phone call they say that somebody dissing you want on some attention and come with extensions and I told him chill out how I look having henchmen if shots get the popping I'm the one doing the clinching I came up in a V so I'm good when it's tension he still doing shows but fell off like The Simpsons your first [ __ ] was classic your last [ __ ] was tragic your second [ __ ] put [ __ ] asleep but they gassed it your third [ __ ] was massive and that was your Prime I was trailing right behind and I just now hit mine now I'm front of the line with a can I am this is my journey into rap even I know everybody talks about Kendrick Lamar with Kendrick Omar's verse you were saying it's mostly aimed at Drake from my point of view your that's what I see but I guess so now jcole has come but he's saying all this like he's he's saying all this stuff that I obviously don't understand all of it but I just think that a lot of the stuff I did understand is simply not true and I'm like so why are you saying that I still love J Cole I'm not taking any size here I think he's incredibly talented I'm just confused by by some of the claims that he's made like I I I feel like he's making false claims I completely agree with you it's funny that you picked all that up my feeling on this is kind of half and half so I feel like he didn't that I feel like that first beat that's not really him like I don't know what kind of beat that was I feel like when it switch beats to the conductor beat that was better like that was darker and I I honestly honestly if he just released that second verse that second part that would have been enough you know what in in the second part wasn't that where he was talking about like peace and like Good Vibes and stuff and yeah basically yeah and he was saying something like um you know he's my brother but I'm not scared to go after him if I feel like that's a warning shot and that's good enough that if that is fine but the the talking points he uses to diss Kendrick those are the same talking points that Drake fans use on Twitter and social media like oh he doesn't put out enough music like since when is that uh oh yeah you know that's actually a very good point yeah like since when is that a measure of greatness it's not it's not it it it's absolutely not especially with art so for jcole to use that I think it's kind of I feel like it's beneath him he referenced a lot of um there's a dis song from Jay-Z towards NS M so he does that he does the thing where he does like the oh four albums in 10 years I can divide and he was basically talking about naz's discography oh so I'm a NS fan NS is my favorite rapper I remember in high school when I heard that takeover song and I was like oh I think he got him like I think Naz is in trouble because he's talking about his discography and it's true like naz's discor discography was flawed at that point you can't do that to Kendrick Lamar who has a Flawless discography to many people MH too many people whether you agree with it or not it's out there like I don't feel like jcole had to do that sorry all right so uh we're back we're going to talk about the uh the apology that jcole issued during his uh dreamville gig I just showed Molly off camera the the apology so uh what are what are your thoughts I thought that was really big of him I actually felt really bad for him I because yesterday we were saying you know that's not really him I don't know jcole like that I know his album and he sounds like a really good person so when we listen to that and especially the first part where he's kind of playing down Kendrick Lamar's discography and his position I was like that doesn't seem like something he would do I'm not necessarily surprised to hear that he apologize but I do think the fact that he's apologizing on like a world stage in front of everyone and he's saying hey I did this because everyone around me like every that's what everybody he thought everyone wanted from him yeah so he did it and it didn't feel good to him he knew he didn't mean what he said and he's coming out in front of everyone and saying hey I made a mistake and I want to apologize for it yeah cuz sometime like imagine imagine you like you tweet something In the Heat of the Moment or you make an Instagram story like making a subtle dig In the Heat of the Moment or whatever and then afterwards you feel like oh maybe I shouldn't have posted that I feel that way all the time yeah me too well not digging out other people but like in general being perceived you do that and you can just delete it and the only people who have seen it are like might delete later yeah oh yeah exactly yeah exactly so but you can just delete it everyone has heard what he said yeah he can't just like quietly like get rid of it and then pretend it didn't happen yeah so he could either stick to what he said or get up and apologize mhm and I think it takes a lot of Brey to get up and apologize like I don't know what it's like to be famous but everyone's looking at him everyone was first expecting him to say something back he felt pressured to do that and then he he acknowledged know that's that's not me that didn't sit right with me that doesn't align with like my values and whatever obviously I haven't read what people are saying and haven't read the reaction but I feel like people are going to be like oh well why like I don't know I feel like people are going to think he's like a [ __ ] now cuz he's apologized or whatever and I don't think that's fair I think I think that I don't know if many people would have done that I can't talk on that cuz I don't know rap world but let's take it from there because you're not from the rap world not saying I'm from the rap world but yeah but because it's in hip-hop there's a lot of people who are really upset I'm I'm personally conflicted um yeah there's a person and then there's a rapper MH so the person the personal part I totally respect like to acknowledge that you're not that you made a mistake you were saying things that you didn't really believe like you can tell from the song you can tell from his flow his delivery and obvious see the stuff that he was talking about like him and Kendrick are like they have the same values they rap about the same stuff they're all both good guys they rap about positivity and the struggle and all this stuff so him of all people would understand the importance of like a to pimpa Butterfly unfortunately for him this is this is hip-hop so this is like if you're going in the boxing ring and you're like I'm going to beat the hell out of you he he even said I'm Muhammad I feel like I'm Mohammad Ali so if you're in the ring and you're like oh I do this and I'm like oh I apologize I'm just get out of the ring now that's the way it looks so that's that that's the so there's the rapper part and there's a personal part I think it really showed what a great human being he is that's what I personally care about and if people are hating on him from that then like like I understand okay like it's a game I get it he's just being a decent human being well that'll be great I guess for some of his fans I feel like through no fault of his own well I shouldn't say that cuz he made a song but he was thrown into a fight that he didn't really want to fight in where's Drake's response well that's what everyone's thinking right now yeah I just think for me like now moving forward he has to change these bars like he he cannot rap about being the best anymore well he have to he has other beautiful things to wrap about I know I think because people are saying you know hip-hop is not the same the competitive spirit is not there there was a huge chance for these three to do something special kendri Lamar is just kind of sitting there now just kind of laughing to himself while these other two do their TED talks and stuff instead of I I'm I'm interested to see what kendar does hopefully he has a new album coming out I'm interested to see what J Cole's new album's going to sound like if he's going to make some changes now cuz he he can't make the same claims anymore or the same type of um braggadocious type stuff he's going to have to shift and do some some of the other stuff that you were saying and I'm I'm actually curious to see what Drake does if he's just going to continue to sit I saw him post a picture of a championship trophy with a notebook and pen so I don't know if that's for his ghost writers so yeah let us know your
