Gina has been dealing with water and electrical issues with her new camper and nobody wants to touch it so now I'm stuck welcome to the channel I'm Liz I have been rving since the 80s and I've been making videos about the RV industry helping people especially who've had problems with their new RVs I make these videos because they work if you watched last week's video you saw that when I was able to facilitate a complete buyback for Robert in today's video about Gina I reached out to the manufacturer and I'll have their response later in this video I am here at my 2022 Cedar Creek Cottage it's a destination trailer I love the camper I just wanted to have something that I can park on my permanent site that I own at the campground my goal was to work here full-time during the camping season unfortunately that has not happened I bought the camper in June 2022 so this has been going on for 2 years took 2 months for Camping World to deliver it and then the problem started I noticed that there was mildew coming from a cabinet and the microwave would just turn on automatically so like if I was away from the campground I come back a week later the microwave would be running and the light would be on so when I called the selling dealer didn't get any response called Forest River they'd even have my warranty card on file and that can only be submitted by the dealer so still couldn't get through to anybody I spoke to another Camping World her name was Kathy she was very helpful I'll call them I'll have them transfer all your stuff over to us and we'll take care of it and that was in December 2022 unfortunately it was during the winter they wouldn't send a mobile tech out until March when that happened I opened up my slides from the winter and all the floors and the slide outs were rotted out completely then things started happening even worse they kept sending me up to take photos there was more delays I I don't know how photos of the electrical problem when the microwave could have helped I felt I was getting the runaround then when Kathy left a message to bring my camper and now we're going into may my warranty expires in June I didn't get any response when I returned her call I emailed no response no response I later found out that Kathy was no longer there at Camping World couldn't get an appointment to bring bring it in I was concerned that if I didn't get it to the dealer before my warranty expired that they wouldn't address the mildew issue I talked to Forest River and she finally said A week before my warranty was going to expire that they would have to see it so no we didn't submit a claim for the mildew even though they had a mobile tech here I don't know how I did it but I got the camper off the blocks I hired someone to tow it to Camping World in Massachusetts and I brought it in they kept it for 4 months now we're going into October I asked them to winterize it when I went to go pick it up when they said it was ready my camper looked a mess they put die cor on the slide out when they drained the water tank they left the water in the pan and left it sitting there was causing some Rust already on the bottom of the tank and they didn't care the dealer kept saying that the camper is fixed and it wasn't I didn't accept it Forest River accepted to take my camper I didn't want to leave it at Camping World they didn't want it to be there anyway and I was afraid that they would cause more damage to it I had to pay to bring it back to my site I had to wait until February now 2024 to have it go to the factory up in Indiana Cedar Creek Cottage had a really great reputation for their campers it's supposed to be one of the top-of-the-line campers I'm in a campground that has 400 sites everybody knows about the Cedar Creek Cottage everybody wanted to come and look look at it you know I love this camper but there's mold the only people that can't smell it has been the dealer and the manufacturer everybody else can smell it what I was very disappointed in was that the manufacturer sent my camper in a state of disgrace they left the mess from Camping World to the slideouts there is dor Globs on each of the corners of my slide out so it's really obvious that they didn't even look at the camper before they sent it back to me the corner caps were not even aligned and put in properly so they were sticking out I can't even open the awning because it hits the slide out it's bad I found a pair of pliers on the slide out roof that was stuck between the roof and the wiper seal I still have the M smell coming from that cabinet they had to actually replace the bedroom slide out floor again so that had to be changed twice within 4 months when I got the camper back it still had water leakage in the same area that it was when I sent it to Camping World and to the manufacturer the inner seals not even all the way down and covering the area with the slide I could look into the bedroom from the outside and I believe it's probably going to need another slide out floor in a few months I temporarily covered it because I am again trying to prevent more damage to my camper while I wait for a response from Forest River and also what I was really disappointed about with these light out floors camping World Chang two of the three slide out floors with OSB which is a downgrade should be 5/8 marine plywood the reason why I bought a the Cedar Creek Cottage is because it has better quality flooring they just dismissed me and when they changed it twice again at the factory I said OSB board is not the OEM it's not the what's in the camper when when I bought it they just did it anyway I noticed underneath the camper under the mesh material was heavy so when I opened it up I found wet installation in one area water's P pouring down I took the wet installation out and what did I find mold on the plywood I think they're hoping that the warranty will expire so now I got about 4 months left when I told them about the mold they just want more pictures now this has been going on for like a month they were in address in the microwave they kept asking for photos I thought it was a safety risk so I went ahead and changed it myself and the problem's still happening and it seems to happen more after we have Heavy Rain I'm thinking that maybe there's some water intruding uh in the back maybe hitting some of the wires there is some safety problems here even talking to my parents my mother she's worried that something you know the place is going to catch on fire at this point tried to get a mobile tech here and nobody wants to touch it so now I'm stuck I just got this camper back in March I just put everything back in I put it back on the blocks now to have to empty it out again and go through this process for a third time this is just ridiculous it's like the campers seem to be only built to last until the warranty expires no guidance no suggestions just send us more pictures I already sent them to them four times already I think this is you know another poor tactic on their end just to stall me I need the manufacturer to work with me at least have a conversation about this I learned a lot definitely everybody should get an inspection don't sign anything until you really have somebody look at it keeping a journal I recommend that for all contacts that that you make writing everything down keeping Good Records the RV industry is broken I'm not finding that the dealers are using trained texts I think that they're using probably people that are paid minimum wage and are not certified the dealers are just overwhelmed with all this warranty service they're kicking it back to the manufacturers to take some of this I know in the past that when a camper went to the manufacturer they made things right it's no better than what I received at the dealer unfortunately I had maybe two months each year of being able to use my camper I would love to have a replacement I like this camper and I haven't been able to use this and we're going on season number three I just don't want to be stuck with a lemon there's something um not right with mine and I just I just want to move on if they can't replace the camper then at least compensate and buy it back and and at least I can move on from this because it's been 2 years Cedar Creek is owned by Forest River so I reached out to their executive team so far I have not heard back this is where you come in let's get this video seen by as many people as possible so let's use the power of social media please like subscribe and share I want to come back with a happy update for Gina and if you're shopping for an RV like Gina said get an inspection I also recommend before you buy join an RV owners forum and get the scoop from them thanks for watching and stay tuned
