[Music] so i'm just gonna try to shoot one of those out of that one box and see if it's done [Music] do [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] do [Music] foreign [Music] so [Music] [Music] do [Music] do [Music] do [Music] so [Music] so today i'm putting up my last pumpkin from this year this is a chambers creek pumpkin so the seed comes from over in swann county chambers creek my friend don casada shared it with me a long time ago and it's a great pumpkin for me to grow it grows good and i like it that it doesn't get so big and the flavor is really excellent when it comes to pumpkins [Music] so i like to cut the pumpkin up in manageable sized pieces like this and then i get the seeds out and then i roast it in the oven to get the pulp out to put in the freezer usually about you know 375 or 400 something like that i'll go through this pulp my chickens love it so i'll feed it to them but i'll go through and get some of the seeds out so that i can save them for next year just in case i need them or need to share them [Music] [Music] so [Music] so i've read in books about people in the old days they dried a lot of pumpkin they would spread them out to dry in the sun or cut them in rings and hang those on strings kind of like you do by when you do weather breeches string them up with a needle and thread i've never done that but i would like to try it maybe next year let's be something on my list to make sure i try [Music] my zenas are almost through blooming this year you can see when they these dead heads always remind me of grannies she would go through this time of the year and snip these off and put them in an old envelope that a piece of mail come in and save them for next year sometimes i do that but sometimes i just go ahead and break them up and drop them wherever it's at there's a good one that's really dry because i figure this is where i you know i just like flowers to come up wherever they come up i guess that's what i'm saying when the girls were young they would make mud pies and they would use what better to make a decoration of than a mud than a beautiful xena or a marigold or some other type of flower so then i would find flowers in some of the weirdest places where they'd used them to make mud pies with i don't think my marigolds have ever been as pretty as they are this year they're just the blooms are just crazy i mean every year i have them these are just volunteers my husband gets aggravated at me because these all volunteered right in the middle of our spring garden but i left them and just picked lettuce and onions in between all of them but as the summer went on and even into this fall they're just it's just amazing i just practically have a field full of marigolds this year and as far as saving seeds you can do the same thing on them as as the xenas that i was showing i really don't see a dried one right here where i'm at but when their flower bud dries up you can do the same thing you can spread them out where you want them or you can cut them off like granny used to and put them in an envelope and save them till next year [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you're in the combat [Music] [Laughter] how do you play videos pumpkin squiggles where would be close two strings one two times and then get all the rest of them like that so i'm gonna play that for my e minor but what are we talking about [Music] now take your other finger and get all those [Music] just like them [Applause] who's ready [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] is i actually have science [Music] posted that almost that whole [Music] do [Music] thank you [Music] thank uh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] um [Applause] [Music] so [Music] do [Music] you
