hi it's Brian again from x-bikes uh as promised uh this is my second video and this is my bike and if you see my first video on my wife's bike you can see that this is a little different uh it's been pretty highly modified um this is an aerial Rider x-class just like hers identical bike it did have the 20 amp hour battery and the 1000 watt motor it's a 2000 watt Peaks uh but all that's gone now so anyhow um like I said in the first video the reason I went with the arrow Rider is because I planned from the very beginning to modify these bikes so it's a quasi motorcycle e-bike right um if I what I love about it is if I wanted to be a motorcycle it's a motorcycle and I drive it like a motorcycle in traffic you know whatever um if I wanted to be an e-bike it's an e-bike and I actually have settings on my display uh so it's got five levels of pedal assist but it also affects the throttle so when I'm with my bike bike when I'm with my wife and she's on her stock bike that only does about 30 some miles an hour I can go to setting three and it goes like 28 miles an hour uh setting one of those like 10 setting two goes like 17 or 18 years playing three goes like 28 setting three goes like 32. setting four goes like 40 ish setting fives Unlimited so when we do hit the bike Lanes I set it to like setting two or three so that I don't have to always be looking at my i i max out at about what everybody else is writing and like I said when we're in the bike Lanes we respect the bike so anyways let's get back to my bike what did I do to it uh the first big upgrade was the battery this right here full frame battery is a 72 volt Molly cell battery and for those of you that have never heard of Molly's cell it's a very high discharge battery capable of serious output of amperage um I mean serious and has very little voltage stat so anyways 42 amp hours so it's like the equivalent if you had like a 48 uh bolt setup with uh it would be the equivalent of you having like uh close to 57 60 amp hours on your 48 volt setup um if I ride it pretty aggressive I get like 30 miles off this thing and I mean I'm just ripping around if I'm just chilling with traffic 45 and being light on the throttle uh 50 60 miles if I'm with my wife a hundred some plus miles just going around 20 20 I don't even know it just it doesn't even move I'll ride for three days with her and I'm still be at like 100 or 98 percent um so that's awesome uh yeah we gotta be doing my wife's battery here pretty soon because I am tired of uh having to limit our rides because her of her battery um 20 amp hours just ain't enough so like I said in the last video 60 you're gonna have 65 so she'll probably have uh last longer than mine which uh and like I said so we upgraded to an NB Power 5000 watt motor and it has a 10 000 Watt peak this thing is scary um it's got so much torque and I found out the hard way uh that you have to really respect that throttle even going 10 20 30 miles an hour you crack that throttle that front end is coming up so I have to lean into it if I'm if I'm going to gun it I gotta lean into it or I'm coming up um unfortunately for me when I first got up the bike uh I cracked that throttle doing about five miles an hour so my friend and I was sitting straight up and the whole bike I was looking up at the sky and I ended up having to drop it to the side where it was coming down on me um yeah this has support but it is fun um I have taken it to the top speed once um just to see what it would do I yeah it's it's scary um more so than a motorcycle because in your mind in the back of your mind you're thinking this is the bike this should not be doing this [Music] um so I keep it you know I 45 50 is is fine but I love the torque because it gets there I am telling you right now this thing will beat almost anything uh from 0 to 50. it's only about 150 pound bike and it has so much torque it gets there in like two and a half seconds I mean fast quick um so the other upgrade we did as I talked about in the first video is got rid of that stock crap shock uh aerial rider that's dangerous as hell to this uh air shock and I'll put links to all this stuff uh in my at the end of my or in the comment section of the video but anyways yeah we switched to this air shock and now it rides like a Mercedes-Benz just cushions you know the potholes and whatever before with the stock uh shock you hit something uh a speed bump or anything it would it would throw you off the bike or at least you come off that seat and it just catapults you because it just had so much compression uh too stiff way too stiff of a spring um so the other thing we did is replace the lights I'm going to show you the light setup okay so we place the light front light and put blinkers in the front which are really cool and if you look at the back new tail lights I don't know if you can see them in the daytime but they're really cool too there's this bad boy right here it is the Sabaton controller 150 uh amp Sabaton control that's been unlocked for a bomber bike that really is a 300 amp controller so what I have been doing in this motor can handle a lot more than 150 amps okay this motor probably said around 200 no problem I have been when I first got the bike uh we started at 100 amps and I've been walking it up slowly just to make sure uh uh you know everything's I don't want to blow anything right so right now we have it up to the stock 150 I'm going to be pumping it up another 10 or 15 amps here uh very soon and we're going to try that for a week or two and every week or two about a hun you know uh uh I mean 100 uh yeah 10 or 15 amps um probably to a Max of like 180 . it's almost too crazy right now but it can always be just a little bit crazy property amp uh go another 10 or 15 or 20. um the other thing I did is I put a little two bag set up here that looks really cool I love uh oh and then uh the tires uh if you look at my tires let's go to the front tire these are definitely not e-bike tires these are motorcycle tires um this was one of the first uh major challenges was these tires they are amazing they grip Like Glue I can literally almost scrape my petals uh I can almost scrape my petals uh going around corners and it's just I don't have any fear whatsoever uh about my bike coming out from under me which I had was the stock tires all the time even when it was stock I would look ahead for anything loose if I was making a turn because they are not grippy that would be definitely another upgrade if well it's a must if you're going to do something like this you have to get different tires do you're not going to want e-bike tires now if you come back here and here's some of the major challenges this back tire did not fit and if you look right here at all these washers in there we had to stretch the frame to get this in and if you look up here up here there was like no Gap and we got to stretch that frame just to get the billionth of an inch Gap in there uh uh yeah and it's the same on the other side right another thing we had to do you look here is we have a torque arm set up going to here and another one going here okay so we got two here and then on the other side we have one here and we have one here so uh yeah so we got four cork arms on here uh because like I said in the first video the Dropout on these is a little flimsy and this back tire would have just probably bent the crap out of the frame now it's as solid as a rock and uh yeah I didn't go nowhere um I do have I do have the stock uh brakes on here and uh people commented on the brakes right like I am getting new brakes but uh it's really uh not a must because this has an E-brake on it the motor does 80 to 90 percent of the braking the brakes really only come into play at the very end when you're coming to a complete stop soon as I touch the brake levers it's I have 45 amps of stopping power and it's so good I mean as soon as I touch them brakes you can feel it just start kicking in and uh uh you're really not using your brakes very little like I said at the very end to come to a complete stop but the rate the the uh the motor does 80 to 90 of the braking uh the reason I'm upgrading to the four piston brakes though hydraulic brakes is uh I actually so when we were walking up the amps um it's uh well we got a faulty display and it blew the display out killed the power of the bike I was doing about 55 miles an hour and I was coming into a turn actually pulling into by a complex and I lost my my e-brake and I had to rely on my hydraulic brakes which did the job but uh not quite as good and I thought I was going to go into a curb luckily it stopped me enough to where I could get around it and that's what I was like well uh yeah I'm gonna have to upgrade these breaks just in case I'll ever lose power again because when I lost that thing I had to rely on the stock brakes and they did the job but uh yeah I would want something a little better and so I'm going to be doing that so anyhow I would like to give a shout out to two people that helped me with this bike and are going to be helping me with the second bike the first one is Sal from E Street Bikes and actually when I was doing my research I came across some of his videos where he's modified uh the Aero Rider and the super 73. and uh I was really impressed with what he did and got in contact with him and then we talked back and forth for a couple months and uh finally after I was uh uh you know didn't buy research I pull the trigger and bought the parts from him he actually makes kits for these he makes kits for the super 73 200 maybe for one or two other bikes those are the two main ones um and got his his uh one of his kits which is the battery uh the motor the controller display and uh I could have I could have guaranteed could have got all these parts somewhere else Amazon for the motor and the controller and uh there's a couple companies out there that make the batteries like this uh but what I liked about Scott and I could have got it cheaper okay not a lot cheaper but a little cheaper maybe save a couple hundred bucks maybe uh but what I liked about going through these three bikes in style is the customer service because we had problems uh me and the guy who helped put this together we had problems uh first the uh we thought the motor of the controller was bad and uh because it was the motor was just making all this uh uh it was vibrating and just making these weird sounds and stuff and uh so we told Sal he instantly that day sent out a new controller and then we plugged it in found out it wasn't the controller it was the motor so we called Sal again and he that day that day no questions asked sent us a new motor without even getting the stuff the the controller or the other motor back yet um he was there day and night throughout the whole build answering questions uh you know so we could get everything right um and I mean it was phenomenal dude uh it's like if you go through any Amazon or and you have problems who are you gonna call Amazon uh he was there day night answer questions help us with the build he's in Jersey uh you know so it's quite a ways away uh we'd send pictures he would you know you know it was like some wiring issues but the main thing is is is when things went bad there was no questions asked uh he wanted us happy and everything to come out right you know for his reputation because he's trying to build you know a reputation in the brain and I got nothing bad to say about the guy and just everything good and I would highly suggest you're going to do something like this go through him because if things go wrong uh we're gonna call and even a battery company they don't accept phone calls you have to email them and play email back and forth he'll answer your calls at eight o'clock nine o'clock at night uh if you're in a panic okay the other person I want to uh thank for this is Drew over at armored Bike Works in Layton Utah who pretty much put the whole thing together I think it was a slightly out of his wheelhouse but I had called every bike uh company from here to Salt Lake to see if they would do this build for me I had all the parts and I didn't really want to do it myself because I didn't have the tools or you know the know-how really I mean a little but enough to be dangerous so uh he is like the only one that was willing to take this on he's done things kind of similar I mean he's added controllers and Motors but I don't think he's ever quite done something like this so it was kind of new to him but he did an amazing job right um and uh he was always there uh too you know uh he was on the phone to Sal uh you know whenever there was a problem um and like I said he uh oh and then the big thing about him oh my the number one thing so when we went into this we kind of thought this was going to be like a little Plug and Play thing and everything was just going to be all easy peasy and just plug All In and boom voila in a few days he would have this super e-bike right this x-bike and it wasn't it uh it was a long it was a two-month Road uh problems like I said the controller in the motor took a month of it you know getting sent uh from Jersey and I think one was from Jersey I think the controller was from Jersey but we had to order the motor he was out of stock on the motor so we had a weight for that one for China but anyways uh it went this thing went he said that he would put this together for 350 bucks uh let me tell you right now uh if you would have been charging me like you know by the hour it would have been a few thousand dollars because we ran into a lot of issues and he stayed good on his price and I even when I begged him because I felt so bad here dude you know take some more money I I don't have he said nope we you know I gave you a price and I'm gonna stick to it wow dude it's amazing right um you don't find too many businesses like that uh I don't have like I said I have nothing bad to say about that guy he did an amazing job um he stuck to his guns on his price which you know I mean I would have been willing to throw him another grand you know I begged him you wouldn't do it so yeah dudes uh dude's a star in my book and a man of his word and that's pretty rare for these days so anyways uh that's pretty much the end of this video if you have any questions on discharge rates and all that stuff I'll answer them in the comments uh you know uh uh any technical questions it's just I don't want to get all into all that in the video um so I've got another video planned on oh so people have asked me oh well what if somebody steals this bike you got insurance no I don't have insurance but nobody's gonna steal this bike somebody no nobody's gonna steal this bike if they do I'm gonna get it right back um I have four tiers of security on this bike this bike is unstealable okay yeah I'm gonna say that unstealable I mean you're gonna steal it because you're gonna have it very long uh and that's if you can steal it um actually is it four or five levels let's see one two I have five levels of security five forgot about the one right here um yeah so it's uh I don't feel really any need to have insurance on this thing uh maybe like you know not theft Insurance um but good luck criminals out there because you ain't getting this bike so I'll go over that in the next video what I did to make this uh that proof and uh this is Brian from x-bikes see ya
