[Music] what's going on Imperials Denver cubone here let's not beat around the bush I find the Hoenn region to be pretty great with the pokemon that inhabited are even better it's probably my favorite regional decks as a whole which of course means that it was incredibly difficult to try and narrow it down to just six in fact when I played through Omega Ruby and alpha sapphire for the first time I had a huge roster of rotating team members because I couldn't settle on such a finite number but let's start with my second favorite pokemon of all time Sceptile from the first stage Treecko was incredibly cool and then it evolved into a fierce leafy velociraptor that's objectively the greatest middle evolution of all time it's so good I wasn't even sure I would want to evolve it but upon taking the plunge I was rewarded with a ferocious grass type dinosaur that but somehow even better than all the other grass type dinosaur starters the signature move created for this Pokemon is one of the coolest of all-time in leaf blade which was tailor-made for a giant lizard with slashing foliage on its forearms the end I know it's only in the remakes but I actually really liked the mega despite the plethora of weaknesses the dragon typing is a nice touch and gives this powerhouse even more kick and I do not take this appointment lightly because there are a lot more grass types in Hoenn that could be on the team and easily be the stars useful Pokemon that I absolutely love like Breloom and Tropius are so tempting being amongst my top grass types of all time but in the end I have to pick this intense overgrown vetal as my friend Hey so you know how this entire series has been me saying WOW we don't have to pick the starters well yeah this is the Hoenn region so that changes things number one for the fire-type there aren't all that many new choices and yes I know that I'm not required to use the starter types every single time but I like to there's a reason that they're set up that way so having them all at your disposal gives you near perfect coverage but for Hoenn specifically I really love torkoal a lot it's my favorite purifier type and defenses are incredible and as much as I'd love to use one and have that's not my first choice Blaziken is a one of a kind shut up yes it is I don't even really like the fighting type all that much but this giant flaming chicken makes it work so well especially against the numerous dart types the evil teams will be hurling at you it's powerful physically intimidating not to mention it's stupidly good in battle to the point where it's hidden ability and mega have been banned in so many arenas it's not exactly feasible in a standard playthrough but if I'm making an ideal team I've got to go with my gut and pick the most promising fire type I can which makes the next point all the more awkward because I have similar feelings about Swampert so I'm picking all the starters this time sue me call it pulling in Ash Ketchum yes that's the way I've always felt obligated to pick but this time I just happen to get it right Swampert is an incredibly solid water Titan and on top of that it's a Ground type turning into my favorite type will never hurt your chances to be on the team and slapping on an immunity just before an electric gym to a pokemon that would have otherwise been week two it is always a pure delight and again with all of these choices I do not take it lightly because there are certainly other water options that I adore but on my ideal team I would have to make room for the formidable mudfish which is ironic because I received tons of flack for people saying that I hated Swampert just because I criticized its mega but that's why I had such distaste for it's unfortunate bulbous mutations because I liked the original so much it's always been a favorite of mine and it makes it really hard to actually pick between the three if any of them were in almost any other generation they would hands-down be my favorite but put them all together and they make a beautiful ideal trifecta but we get to have even more Pokemon than just the starters on the team and there is no question here this Pokemon is easily one that I would choose for a team of six out of the entirety of the Pokemon roster and that is none other than the cyborg supercomputer Metagross this Titan is so menacing just by appearance not able to play the games at the time I first saw this metallic beast in the deoxys movie and i instantly loved it only later did i find out about its raw power and that it was actually a ferocious tornado of carnage that could handily rip your enemies to shreds its design as a robotic spider thing should be creepy but it works so well not to mention the fact that it can fold up its legs and use its psychic powers to levitate above the ground psychic and steel are great types on their own but put them together on a pokemon with a 600 base stat total and a great move pooled and you won't have very much to worry about it and it only got better in June for when they finally gave it a visible psychic move to take advantage of its outrageous attack this Pokemon was truly worthy of adding a second pseudo legendary to the region and before you say anything about how you can't get a beldam until the end of the game that's not the point it's not like I can get all the starters the regular way either so I would have to do some transferring to make it work but boy would it be worth it to have this metallic monstrosity on the squad and the greatness keeps on coming because this next pokemon is also on my top six of all time man homeowner is overflowing with great choices the majestic Flygon is my favorite dragon type and one that gets constantly overlooked whether it's from people preferring Salamence it getting overshadowed by Garchomp in the next generation or Altaria swooping in and stealing it's rightfully earned mega evolution but Flygon deserves way more than people give it credit for again ground-type is the bomb so that's a huge plus but it's also immune to ground with the levitate ability and while most people are me entering through the skies on their puny regional birds I'll be flying high on the desert winds with a Regal beast meat of dreams sorry swellow I didn't mean it I really like you too but just look at this thing can you blame me I don't know how else to describe Flygon and the many advantages it provides without sounding redundant so I'll just say that for a Pokemon that you can find much earlier than a pseudo legendary it does a pretty convincing imitation of one to me and then the last slot was incredibly tough because I have used all sorts of different pokémon in the Hoenn region and using them was always a pleasure but looking at them I could already tell that pretty much anything I picked would create some overlap and for my personal taste at the moment anyway the last lot on the team should go to a Guan steel seem to be a pretty rare find in generation 2 for anything that didn't have magnets for hands maybe that was on purpose but I much prefer how early you can find these handsome little fellows in poem you can have an ironclad behemoth as early as the second gym and it only gets better with age Agron is blessed with an insanely huge move pool learning all sorts of ridiculous attacks that it barely makes sense for it to know and on top of that it balances out the team a bit by having a more defensive Pokemon as a counterpoint to all the speedy attackers and while mecca's in general aren't really my thing I love using mega aggron in Omega Ruby and alpha sapphire strategically using the ability to switch to a pure steel type to handle the immediate threats sure it's another steel type on the team but we had plenty of backup to counteract any weaknesses that would cause and I just absolutely love picking up such a powerful steel Titan and simply watching as my foes crumble before its might making me feel like a true Pokemon master so that's my ideal team for the Hoenn region which was a lot harder to narrow down than I expected which pokemon from Hoenn are your favorites let me know it down in the comments also be sure to leave a like share this video and subscribe so that you too can become an Imperial today and we'll see you around next time
