My Favorite Personal Item Bags (For the Airplane)

hey there today i'm going to share my favorite personal item bags for the airplane these are under seat baggage for travel but also count as personal items that all airlines allow i will also share my buying the suitcases that have the wheels that are detached one it takes up more in your luggage dimension size and then also it can snag or pop off really easily and this travel bro travel pro brand that i have used for almost 20 years and a lot of airline crews use still they have the wheels that are embedded and this spirit airlines rolling carry-on suitcase that i found for you has the embedded wheels so i think you're also getting higher quality if you're looking for a carry-on suitcase that is small that will fit in the overhead bins of the like united express airplanes and delta asa airplanes this one is mine but it is larger than the one i found for spirit airlines it's super organized inside and it has several pockets see it totally unfolds like that and then the handle also goes all the way up way past my my uh waist and i'm 5 8. and it also has that strap that will fit on the suitcase handlebars of a regular carry-on suitcase if you do need that larger personal item another travel tip is to wear a fanny pack or a waist belt around your waist while you are walking onto the jet bridge of the airplane it's kind of like you're sneaking it on if you're only allowed one personal item bag in this fanny pack is where you're going to pack your essentials like your credit cards your phone your little headphones your license and the reason i say that is that airlines are only allowing you to bring if you buy a regular ticket a carry-on suitcase and a personal item bag the personal item bag does fit under the airplane seat in front of you but i know a lot of you will also have a carry-on purse or a crossbody just hide that wear it under your sweater if you're traveling in the summer in the winter or pack that in your personal item bag until you get onto the airplane like airlines get charged thousands and thousands of dollars if you are carrying more than two bags into the airplane and even in the tsa line i have had the officers tell me to put my purse inside my personal item to go through security i have used for a year now and all of my summer trips this summer this striped weekender bag a weekender bag is a trendy travel term for a small duffel bag and they are allowed on every airline as a personal item i can fit three costco size paper towels inside this weekender bag it even fits under the small um united express type 70 seater and 50-seater airplane seats over the summer i just was getting frustrated trying to find my pouches because the inside of this bag is all dark and it only has one pocket on one side that does zip i mean it's a great bag and i will travel with it again but i requested a bag with lighter interior and i'll show you that in a second but while going through security i have this little strap that goes over my carry-on suitcase handles and that's what i love so i can be hands-free in the airport but it has a pocket and that's where i would put my license my passport my phone as i'm going through security from a friend who travels a lot and then i can also fit two paper towel rolls in the base or the middle of it and it's got the outside pocket for my laptop and it's got another outside pocket and then it's got the strap or fabric that can go over my carry-on suitcase handles a travel tip for your personal item bag is to pack a compression cube with an extra outfit in it you can pack this compression cube standing up or in the base flat of your personal item bag and then build up what you are packing in there from there i have a pair of leggings a pair of jeans and a thin sweater time through the tsa line this marble pattern overnight bag is very similar to my weekender striped bag but notice that it has a zip section at the bottom for shoes or heavier items it also comes in a really cute tie-dye pattern if you need a christmas present i have traveled for many many years with just a backpack because i love being hands-free in the airport do not choose the cheap kind of school backpacks they feel really textured and plasticky and i like one really large zippered part or zippered pocket at the back of your backpack and then a regular size one at the front there are so many organized backpacks out there to choose from this one's from amazon and is no longer available but i will link another one from the same company that's a geometric shape that's black and white my mom wanted one of these right when we first got married to a pilot i first got married to a pilot and she ordered one but when she went to israel she wanted one with more pockets for some reason and so this is what hers looks like it's about the same size as mine except it's two inches larger and it has a ton of organization and like i said it has four pockets i have seen some really high quality school type backpacks at walmart and costco and target i have this really loose no structured tote that i got from amazon i said i would never travel with just a little snap closure but this has a magnetic one the little paisley fabric inside is beautiful but i took it twice to a beach location if i'm not packing a whole lot i do think this is okay because i pack a lot with pouches on the inside of my personal item bag a travel tip for your personal item bag is do not forget to pack a crossbody purse or a crossbody bag amazon has like 17 different colors of this bag i like the outside pocket for my purse it fits two cases for sunglasses and my reading glasses and then it also fits my thin wallet and it's got two different pockets yeah two different pockets in there as well i prefer a casual and dressy type crossbody bag for domestic travel since i'm not going to europe anytime soon one of the reasons i do travel with pouches is that they can fit into those little pockets of space that you forgot about i think this one is so cute because it says vacation please there are some really pretty marble ones for makeup or toiletries and i love this thin leather classic toiletry bag notice the little key ring holder for scissors scissors are allowed as long as they're four inches in length and so are nail clippers in your carry-on bags you don't have to pull them out or anything like that and you know what else you can use that key ring for now hashtag 2020 your mask i used it while i was waiting for our teenage driver to be done with this lesson a travel tip for
