my bedroom studio tour

hey guys I'm Molly mcphaul if you're new to this channel I'm a musician music producer and I make a lot of music just in my bedroom my little Studio setup yeah I thought it would be fun and helpful for you guys if I made a little inside scoop on what my own bedroom Studio setup is and yeah I don't want to make this long intro so let's get into it oh this angles a little bit a little bit funky but I wanted to give you guys just a look on the actual interface I use which I used to record analog instruments like my guitar or microphone whatever it may be so this is the focusrite Scarlett interface it has two inputs which honestly is all I need what I'm usually doing working on projects in my room so and the focus ride it's really nice because it's just a USB connection to your computer really have yet to have this interface let me down it has also built-in phantom power so if you have microphones that require phantom power got that and you can record microphone yeah so yeah naturally a laptop is also something that's essential you also if you want to make music you should also just get a some sort of Daw which is a digital audio workstation this is a Ableton Live [Music] and I also have these JBL studio monitors which are just some some I guess basic studio monitors I always like JBL products so I went with these and yeah I don't have much advice on the speakers because these are the first pair I've gotten but I've had them for like two two and a half years and I like them a lot and I think they look super cute in the stew Pizza Ed Sheeran you is fire thank you another essential essential item in my personal bedroom studio is my instruments guitars and this is the wire setup situation in my studio I mean everything's working proper but uh uh yeah it don't don't worry about your it's okay yeah this is producer rev she's crazy she's crazy with the Beats honestly key to success external hard drive this is the the Lacy hard drive Lacy I actually just got it because my other hard drive is having some issues and so far this is this is sick I put a little sticker I designed on there that may or may not be on the cover of my album that I'm working on to be to be announced what's next my room's kind of a mess so we're just gonna stay in this corner and yeah this is the table that I actually built last summer with my boyfriend and yeah it's just a it's a nice wooden table we got pieces of wood from Home Depot and I got a really bad Splinter sanding it down which insert photo maybe you don't want to see that actually maybe I won't put the photo in I'll put it in my co-engineer just came in this is River good to see you dude you're the best for real yeah she's kind of a wizard so yeah if you are able to find one of these floofs that has production skills then that's fire I definitely lucked out with Riv we're the best you're the best puppy you're the best River cutie so this is essential honestly the Kai mpk mini especially if you're if you're new to like music production you don't have any instruments this was like the first piece of gear I got for production purposes people ask about my my effects and and these aren't honestly the only pedals I own and I honestly only really use my loot pedal yeah I use lots of plugins that are just digital plugins on my computer and this piece of gear right here is probably what I see the most comments about people are curious what sort of mic this is and this microphone is actually a harmonica microphone and it's the short green bullet it's a dynamic microphone and yeah it it records pretty it's just kind of automatically makes things sound Lo-Fi which I really I really enjoy making Lo-Fi music so this microphone is kind of perfect and yeah oh sick and if you watch some of my videos on this channel if you check out my passion fruit cover and city of stars cover I use that microphone for my vocals yeah it's dope it's also really fun to record as like a room drum mic and just get all sorts of percussion frequencies and stuff all over dope piece of equipment so I have more equipment I just don't know if that's really necessary to show you every little piece the items that I showed you in this video is the stuff that I use probably the most I enjoy recording analog I enjoy just recording the live music I also use plenty of samples and whatnot on my computer all the time but I think at the core of my production journey I definitely value having instruments that I actually hold and feel and that's just that's just kind of before I got into music production like that's how my love of Music began so definitely a huge component of my bedroom studio is my instruments I'm really really stoked that I'm able to use the resources I have and connect with people virtually that I'm able to make music from my bedroom most of the tracks I've released on streaming platforms they were built in my room and now they're out there for people to listen to wherever they are in the world so it's a really it's a really special it's so fun to just be able to explore and find your own groove of Creation in your own process and I think music production is definitely a outlet I've found to be super fulfilling in my own life I'm really excited I mentioned it earlier but I'm working on my first album and it's cool because I'm building the album in my my room I guess
