My 500HP Rotary Build (Thai Longtail Riverboat)

today we are at jaika tuning here in bangkok thailand which is the country's premier rx-7 and rotary specialists they build some of the sickest mazda rx-7s this country has ever seen and if you've watched any of my videos you know thailand does the fd super proper the reason we're here at jaika tuning is because it's time to build my 500 horsepower 13b that is going in the cb media long tail riverboat which by the way it needs a legit proper name and i'm gonna let you guys choose it i've taken your best suggestions and i put them in a poll in the community tab and now it's time for you to go vote let's name the cb media long tail i'm not normally like a wide body guy i'm normally an oem plus type of dude but the way people here in thailand do these fds with the re kits and the bright colors and the cages and they're just they're just so next level insane that i tend to love them check out the cb decal on that one somebody happened foreign [Music] foreign [Music] prepping the engine for assembly it's time for us to go shopping for some car parts i mean boat parts my name is alon i'm a co-owner of ichiban engineering we're based in thailand i've been living here for about four years and i like house so i decided to do something about it we manufacture turbos and exhaust manifolds we're also dealing with fuel components injectors fuel pumps and etc this is a few of our cars that are in the shop that we're currently working on so this is the turbo that's going on this car right yeah on the lb 25 that we're gonna swap it's a small snail but it's a bolt-on it comes with an installation kit it does the job okay dude look you got a bunch of cool cars here but i'm not here to see your cars i need a turbo is that mine yeah that's yours it's going in a boat yeah you sure yeah okay ichiban engineering 3582 dual ball bearing yo shout out to ichiban engineering for my ie 900 turbo ie 1000 injectors an ie 350 fuel pump let's go build a 500 horsepower rotary since everything was set up when we already got here now he's applying some type of special adhesive i think it's called dorito glue to the housing so they were actually sealed together i was shocked when he told me the entire assembly process was going to take a mere 30 minutes and he was wrong it didn't take 30 minutes it took like 12 minutes always thought the process of building a rotary engine was completely overly complicated this guy made it look like he's building a set of legos so now what we're doing is we're testing the compression obviously to make sure the engine is good it needs compression because we're about to throw a [ __ ] ton of boost on this [Music] [ __ ] now that the leak down test is complete we're headed over to the fabrication department we're going to be fabricating all the titanium turbo and intercooler piping and a custom exhaust turbo manifold shout out to all my friends over on my patreon page it's time for me to start giving back to you guys from called a de hatzo mira pickup truck and it's how we're getting the engine from here to the fabrication department which is actually in another building i want to buy one and then put like a lexus v8 in the bed of it and just drive around toting the front tires doing wheelies the thing's just hilarious to me and i love it i just noticed something check out the color and the wheel combo on the dahatsu mirror and then check out the wheel and color combo on this fd they match perfectly this is the spare engine that we're using to fabricate all the other parts that are necessary but now we're trying to figure out how to set up and route all the rest of the piping i already have my water to air intercooler now we're just trying to set it up where it's properly balanced and does not get in the way of any functionality the original plan was to mount the water to air intercooler here and then just basically have piping run from here to here and then from the turbo underneath the intake manifold here basically like that but we changed our mine if you mount it over here what it's going to do is it's going to properly balance everything because you have the turbo and the wastegate and everything else over here and i think this will allow the engine to be more properly balanced since the throttle body on the 13b is triangular you know it goes with the whole rotary theme and the inlet on my water to air intercooler being circular and them also being different diameters this piece while not a long piece of piping would be very very difficult to fabricate in titanium so instead we're doing a sheet metal version i'm like speechless right now are you seeing this look at that this is actually four different pieces you can see right in there but looking at it fully polished and complete it looks like one solid piece of polished sheet metal okay my custom turbo exhaust manifold is officially done this thing is absolute pure artwork this is 100 fabricated in-house for my engine and my ichiban engineering ie 900 turbo look at this thing is it not beautiful i can't wait to see it mounted up with a giant turbo attached to it i've actually decided to have them take apart my turbo and polish the compressor housing just for maximum levels of bling on this engine with all the burnt titanium and all the crazy colors i have going on i really want this engine to pop [Music] that is actually the exhaust for my 13b can you imagine how loud that thing is going to be it is going to be obnoxiously loud if you have ever heard any rx7 with a full exhaust they're absurd now imagine how a 13b is going to sound when that is the exhaust once everything is mocked up test fitted and tack welded together it'll all be removed off of the spare engine and then assembled for the final time on my beautiful fresh 13b [Music] so what they're doing now is actually burning the titanium i told them to go full send on it i want all the rainbow colors like i said i want this engine because it's going to be full display on this boat all open i want it just to look absolutely freaking ridiculous what we're doing now is popping a hole in the side of the water to air intercooler this is where we'll be mounting the blow off valve now that the intercooler is complete well almost complete we still have one special thing to add to it and the manifold and turbo have been mounted to the engine we can move on and actually fabricate the remaining intercooler pipe which will be made out of titanium [Music] and that is a wrap on the 13b rotary engine for the cb media tie longtail riverboat or whatever we're calling this thing don't forget to head over the community tab right now and vote for the official name of the cb media long tail riverboat we have added red pulleys an oil cooler custom fuel rails all the necessary lines and fittings the fuel pressure regulator rx-8 coil packs with a custom bracket and the oem transmission bell housing which at a later date will make an adapter so we can actually bolt the propeller to it next up we're building the hole for the boat which will probably take about three weeks and once that's done it's time to drop this engine in a 500 horsepower straight pipe big turbo rotary is going to be put on an 800 pound wooden boat fyi the power to weight ratio on a bugatti veyron is .23 horsepower per pound the power to weight ratio of this boat is going to be 0.62 horsepower per pound of boat that is almost triple the power to weight ratio of a bugatti veyron on the water with no brakes and just a [ __ ] ton of boots this is going to be a very very wild ride you
