guys welcome back it is racerx and today i've actually got uh three different cars behind me this is a video that i've been looking forward to shooting for quite some time well guess what my buddies at classic chevrolet in grapevine have managed to put all three of these cars together for me and today i'm going to review them yes it is the base muscle version of each one of these particular cars you've got the challenger here you've also got the camaro and then right there you've got the mustang and these are very different cars but these are sort of the iconic pony muscle however you want to look at them these are the iconic versions but this is the base model and i just want to show you some of the differences it should be a fun video guys if you are new to the channel make sure you slap subscribe down here in the corner hit the notification bell and we are off [Music] we got 1000 horsepower [Music] well guys check it out who else did i find there is the man right there there's michael gordon we've seen him in several of my videos so far and i'm like listen i really appreciate you putting these cars together for me buddy i know it's not easy to find all three of these at the same place so real quick and i know that you are a chevy guy have you driven all three of these cars before driven all three of them which one do you like the best i i'm a cabarro guy uh well you're a chevy you're you're working a chevy dealer number two would be the challenge right okay horsepower okay muscle look of it yep and is there really a third oh the dish on the mustang guys you gotta love it but uh this is the man here he will help me put this uh video together guys he is a big big help so if you do need something chevy related that is your man to come see michael gordon here at classic chevrolet all right so let's check out the lineup here yes we do have the challenger gt this is a v6 however it does have a very similar look to say the rt and honestly it really doesn't look that different from a hellcat if you kind of just take a glance at it from a little ways away uh right here you do have the camaro this is the the one lt this has the six cylinder in it um very nice package on this car and keep in mind guys all the base prices on these are really really close and of course you do have the mustang this features the ecoboost that is a four-cylinder turbo in this they no longer have a v6 version of this available and all of these are newer versions 19 or newer so i felt like it's going to make a really fun comparison keep in mind guys that the camaro also does have a turbo four-cylinder available but i feel like for this comparison because the challenger does not have a turbo four we'll just go ahead and compare the six cylinders and these and then of course the ecoboost in the mustang so the first thing i really want to talk about is the difference in look of these cars guys these cars really couldn't be a whole lot different in look i mean obviously they're not trucks or anything but i mean you can see with the challenger you do get the the bigger scoop here keep in mind the sxt is going to look a little different but with the gt you do get that big scoop right there in the front the the hood of this car is pretty long and you'll see it when you actually drive it but when you look at the side profile of this this has that kind of old school muscly look and a lot of dodge folks really really like this this actually has some upgraded wheels on it like you do normally find on the gt but as you can see the green is kind of striking as well some people like it some people don't but i will say obviously this car has a spoiler on it it has a very boxy kind of rear end to it the tips on it are sort of oblong it is a just a different looking car but it is very distinctive typically you can always tell if you're looking at a challenger on the road and it's just a really good looking car we'll talk about the interiors here in just a little bit but as we jump over to the camaro things change quite a bit you can see it's not quite so boxy uh on the camaro it's more angular you can see the headlights are actually very angular and uh sort of low profile but that grille really sticks out that's the thing with these new camaros is the grille is uh is very noticeable and you can see it's it's just a very slanted windshield more slanted than the others the uh even even the uh the rear the mirrors here have a very aerodynamic type look and on the back of this particular one we don't have a spoiler it is they do have options where you can put spoilers on them this one it does have sort of the round exhaust tip on it similar balance but you can see it does have a nice little curve around to the backside it's just a very striking car the camaro is a good looking car and as we jump over obviously to the mustang you can see you've got these uh these little vents here in the hood very very standard type of mustang type look this one has a more rounded grill on it but it still has a really nice slope to it you can see how it kind of slopes down that mustang is very distinctive as well it kind of has a mean looking sort of a mean looking face almost to it with the way those things are angled it kind of has a pissed off type look to it which is neat it's definitely unique to the mustang the windshield not quite as slanted as the camaro but more so than in the challenger over here and you can see this has the base model wheels on it very very striking car once again this does have a very low profile spoiler on it it's got the round exhaust tips and in the back um it is it's not exactly square but it does have a really nice look to it actually kind of like the tail lights on the mustang and uh it's just a once again this is a very sharp looking car all three of these cars do look very different and they're all unique in their own right so let's talk a little bit more about the performance of these cars all right so when we're talking about performance there is the rockstar so we'll obviously talk about the camaro first there is that naturally aspirated v6 3.6 liter uh in the camaro and this thing actually has a fair amount of punch to it we're talking 335 horsepower guys 284 pound-feet of torque and uh you know what for the majority of people this engine has more than enough punching next up is the challenger so once again 3.6 liter naturally aspirated v6 this one also has a fair amount of punch we're talking 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque so while this thing still has plenty of power you can see the camaro actually has more punch in that engine so definitely something to think about but that doesn't mean the gt is uh is a slouch by any means and also one quick note the gt is the only one of these three that's actually available with all-wheel drive so something to think about there and lastly but certainly not least you have the mustang yes this is the ecoboost engine and uh yes i know it sort of has a connotation of oh four cylinder but guess what 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque so even though it is the smallest by displacement you're also talking about an engine uh that puts out more torque than the other two it is a 2.3 liter turbo so it's the only one of these three that actually has a power adder on it so so a couple other quick items of notes uh the challenger gt actually comes with an eight-speed auto so i am comparing all automatic transmissions today uh the camaro actually has a 10-speed transmission and so does the mustang so certainly something to think about there and here is the other thing to think about when you talk about weight the mustang and the camaro they actually weigh right about the same somewhere around 3 300 pounds give or take a little bit this guy here a little different story this one is right about 4 000 pounds so there's about a 700 pound weight difference on these cars so uh something to be considered there well guys let's start out with the interior of the mustang as you can see it's it's actually quite nice this one actually has leather appointed seats in it you can see the back seats uh yeah it's not real big um so if you are a larger individual you just quite simply probably won't fit back there but for kids it's probably okay um everything else in here is just kind of nice and in the right place as you can see a lot of steering wheel controls on the mustang the gauges are quite easy to read um from an ergonomics perspective you've got your two cup holders here in the middle e brakes in a really nice spot and then of course you've got a a really nice infotainment center here and your uh your shifter is right here of course your gear selector but then also you've got your drive modes and multiple other things right here in the center console of course your climate controls and some of the other things that you would want so now inside the uh the mustang you can see the controls once again they're very easy to read everything just has a really nice kind of fit and purpose in here you can see you've got the door sills do sit just a little bit high um you can see that you've got your windows cleared down here so it's just it's just a completely different feel than any other two um everything is very sort of centered in terms of uh you know where the controls are you can see you do have your drive mode selectors down here cup holders here and then of course uh the infotainment center here does work quite well um it's just it's more of a square type feel in this car but i will say visibility in this car is actually pretty darn good you can see the other cars over there but you can actually see out of this thing quite nicely like i said the sills are a little high but in terms of visibility not too bad so uh it has a very neutral driving position the mustang and nothing wrong with that okay so the next thing let's jump over here to the camaro as you can see this thing looks quite a bit different not nearly as many steering wheel controls here this one actually has the cloth seats however you can still get these of course with the leather appointed seats as well from a backseat perspective yep it's uh it's right about the same size as the mustang to be honest it's actually quite small um if like say if you're a smaller person you can probably fit back there okay if you're larger it probably just won't work out once again you've got your cup holders um one of the things that's striking about the camaro of course once again you've got your uh your selector here your gear selector but then of course the one of the dominating features of this car are the ac vents as you can see you've got them here and also on the far side right there in the middle of the dash and this one here of course has the infotainment center right in the middle once again it sits a little bit like a mustang in terms of it's uh it's just kind of center faces directly back but it is very different in terms of the way it looks as you can see even the dash looks quite a bit different up here you've got another vent right here and but it is a very very nice interior in this car nothing to complain about with the camaro at all so now aboard the camaro we can kind of look at the gauges in this car and this car almost feels like more of like a modern if you were to describe a modern house that's kind of what the camaro feels like because you can see it's very angular the gauges are actually beautiful in this car they make a lot of sense i do like the lighting on the gauges um not as many steering wheel controls and you can see just not really as many controls in general i think you do a lot more actually through the center screen um but you can see this one just kind of has a more simplistic angular type look at it you still get your two cup holders here you still get your storage um you still got your uh your mode selectors here and those are more centrally located obviously on the mustang you gotta scoot up here um but everything is still in a really nice spot the seats are relatively comfortable now from a visibility perspective things change a little bit the windshield in this car is actually not very big and neither is the rear window the rear window is actually pretty small and the door sills let me show you that real quick they sit up even higher than they do in uh in the mustang now if you get used to the visibility in this car it's not too bad but um i tell you what it is a little bit it takes a little bit of getting used to the hood looks really sharp looking through uh looking through the windshield but um it is a very it almost feels a little bit space-age in this just it feels very very different than the mustang uh it is a but it's still a very very sharp car and lastly here we have the interior of the challenger so as you can see this one also has the the houndstooth seats or the uh the cloth seats and this seat is actually it's just a bigger seat all around the mopars are kind of known for having bigger seats in them so if you're a bigger individual you may actually like the fit and feel of this one a little bit better one of the very unique things about this car is that uh this is the only one of the three it's actually the only one of the three that actually is more driver centric meaning that the dash actually curves around towards the driver a little bit so it has a little bit more of a cockpit type feel once again you've got quite a few steering wheel controls here you do have your gear selector right here in the middle very centrally located and of course you can put that in the manual and move it over but you do have your drive mode selector and multiple other things right here in the center very easy to get to this one and the camaro have the push button right here on the mustang it's actually located more in the center down here so just a couple of differences there the back seat of this car is actually slightly bigger than in the other two but not a whole lot so maybe a slightly bigger individual can fit back here but certainly if you are a large individual it might be slightly uncomfortable now aboard the challenger gt as you can see different look all together this one has a much longer dash to it the dash in this is longer than both the camaro and the mustang um i do kind of like the fact that the uh that the center console sort of wraps around towards the driver you can see the gear selector is very centrally located you do have some of your audio controls right here in the center push button um it is a pretty easy car to see out of compared to really the other two i think the visibility is right on par with the mustang certainly better than the camaro um kind of close this up you can see once again the sills sit about the same level they do in the mustang um but very very sharp gauges in this car once as well the the center console the infotainment center actually works quite nicely this is actually the smaller of the two that dodge offers but you can see visibility is not too bad out the back window you can still see fairly well all right well now that i have showed you a whole bunch of the different specs features the interiors of these cars i think it's time to take these things for a little spin down the road so i can give you uh my impressions on how they drive okay so i am actually aboard the mustang this is the ecoboost um like i said it's the only four cylinder of the three but i have to admit i mean i'm just kind of cruising around right now and this car actually cruises quite nicely i mean it it puts the power to the ground a little bit differently than say uh since say the v6s do certainly from a startup perspective um it doesn't have that same little bit of grumble i noticed in the camaro the challenger doesn't grumble quite as much as the camaro but they both sound pretty decent when you start them up this one's pretty quiet when you start it up but i will say rolling down the road just keeping it nice and smooth when i go to accelerate it most definitely feels like it's getting out of its own way the car actually drives quite nicely um as i look at the the fit and finish the feel of this car it feels pretty polished i mean it like i said it's very kind of neutral in terms of the way the aesthetics are in the car the gear shifter is kind of right where you'd want it to be really no complaints so i feel like it's worth mentioning you know there's really no right or wrong when you compare these three cars they're all fantastic sort of in their own right they're all just different even though they're all pony or muscle cars or whatever you want to call them they'll compete really in the same market segment but um you almost have to drive all three just to see how different they are like so i have to admit that um the four cylinder is i'm actually the four-cylinder in this car i'm actually using the paddle shifters here and i do like the fact that this 10-speed really works when you're driving it i will say to get it in the right rpm to kind of get it to launch you really have to downshift quite a few times but right here we are at 3700 and we're gonna go ahead and give it the beans here and it it definitely feels like it has got a lot of punch listen to it nothing wrong with this i have to say this is one of those four cylinders that still has the ability to kind of put a smile on your face when you lean into it it is pretty important uh that you kind of downshift to the right gear because you know with the 10 speed it has a lot of gears so you're just going to have to row down to hit the right gear get yourself in the right rpm but boy when it takes off it has plenty of power the mustang it does feel it feels very very solid um it feels relatively light on its feet and it's just a nice a solid driving car the mustang yeah it's not a race car but it is still fun to drive like i said the back seats in it aren't big but that's okay i mean it's more comfortable probably for just two adults if you have kids that are small they'd probably work out just fine in the back of this thing but like i said if you're bigger in stature the back seat simply will not work the fit and feel of this one is a little tighter than it is on the challenger um and it feels pretty similar to the camaro but um it does have a nice feel and really no major complaints with the mustang all right so now aboard the challenger gt with the uh with the 3.6 liter naturally aspirated v6 man it is just a very different feel when you get in this car you can feel the car is just bigger it feels bigger it feels heavier and there's not necessarily anything wrong with that um in terms of just responsiveness i have to admit that uh it doesn't feel quite as punchy as the mustang does now that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it it still feels like it's got a fair amount of power matter of fact i'm going up a hill right now it is most definitely getting out of its own way um the power is a little bit more linear i feel like the mustang just kind of like you could feel the surge of power in the mustang a little bit more um in this car it uh it's just real linear and like i said but the car rides the car rides quite nicely because it is a bigger car you know it's got bigger seats in it the back seats a little bit bigger um the ride is actually quite nice in this trim actually one thing i will say about uh this particular one is it stands out in a crowd i mean man this green you don't get a lot of a lot of these green type colors and this is kind of that traditional mopar green and you know this car there's something to be said for it because it has that traditional uh retro muscle type look that the others don't the camaro actually looks quite quite space-age but it is it's got that it's just got that big comfortable muscle type feel to it it is not the fastest thing in the world but it still gets out of its own way and it still looks really really good there's a reason they sell so many of the sxt and gt packages so this one it is um i just i don't think it's quite as fast as the mustang it's heavier it's bigger but it still is a really nice car and if you don't need a race car and you're looking for just a cruiser this one is uh this one might be perfect for you like i said the challenger is one of those cars that's been around a while dodge has had a ton of success with it and i can see why it is just a really well put together vehicle okay well i guess we'll go ahead and move on over to the uh the camaro now i'm aboard the camaro 1lt and of course this does have that natural aspirated v6 this thing actually puts out a good amount of power for a v6 like 335 horsepower out of a naturally aspirated v6 nothing wrong with that i've got to say the interior this one feels just so different than the other two um just from a dash perspective and i do really like the instrumentation in this car and i've got to admit that the vents are you know there's something that would probably have to grow on me a little bit but they are kind of cool like i said this one almost has more of a modern type feel to it sort of like somebody says they like like i said like a modern house this one kind of has that same it's almost more simplistic here but very angular i've got to say from a visibility perspective um it will take a little bit of getting used to if you're not used to the higher sills this one's even higher than the other two cars and the smaller windshield and so if you want something with a little bit more sound i will say that the v6 in uh in the camaro um it does have kind of a nice little uh grumble to it i mean it's not it's not a big v8 sound but when you start it it definitely sounds uh it sounds pretty throaty okay so a couple of things that i noticed right away when driving the camaro compared to the other cars is it faster than the challenger yeah it is it feels faster than the challenger does it's lighter weight we're talking 700 pounds lighter than the than the challenger and it's got more horsepower so you can definitely feel it now with the mustang it has more horsepower than the mustang but the mustang has more torque so this one has kind of that same linear feel like you would find in the challenger but it just has more power so and it's lighter so it's uh it definitely is faster than the challenger now in terms of the ride quality i gotta say it's uh it's a little bit more uh it's not quite as supple i would say as the way the challenger rides um it feels a little bit more like a sports car rather than just a traditional muscle car but it's a smaller car like i said this car smaller it's lighter so is the mustang it's smaller it's lighter and you can feel it when you drive it this thing definitely gets out of its own way uh i got to admit that it doesn't underwhelm me with its power um it is actually it's a pretty nice driving car now i flipped it over to sport and it woke it up even a little bit more so so uh yeah the the drive modes in this actually work quite well as well so from a drivability perspective the camaro is actually quite nice i mean it really takes curves readily it feels well balanced um it's a it's a very solid car like i said it looks more new age it's more angular so um yeah i mean at the end of the day all three of these cars they're different it's completely subjective there's no right or wrong all three of these cars cost about the same amount of money um so my suggestion would be go drive all three of these and the chances are you're gonna like one better than the other two now which one that will be i can't say because like i said everybody is different well guys that is it i hope you enjoyed the review of all three of these cars they're all fantastic in their own right guys there's no right or wrong once again we got the challenger gt the camaro uh 1lt and of course the mustang ecoboost they're all fantastic and keep in mind the whole spirit behind this video was simply because they sell more they all three of these companies dodge chevy and four they sell more of this particular trim pretty much than any other trim like combined this is just it's just a big big segment for them so they're fantastic cars guys it's really fun to kind of review compare and it's been a fun one i want to take one quick second thank my good buddy mike he's been my personal assistant on this on this video and once again guys if you do need a chevy product or you see any of these cars that you like make sure you give mike a uh a call he will get you all squared away so it's been a really fun one i will catch you guys on the next one for racer x for my classic chevrolet we'll catch you later have a good one you
