okay reel lift it up blake all right nice one yes first fish of the day blaker and it's a keeper it's a good one actually isn't it well hey guys while brian unhooks that fish and blake uh we'll get a shot with blake hey welcome to the show john bergsman here from destination outdoors with brian bist his son and his uh friend steve i think is it yeah steve we're here on mullet lake look at look at this fish show that fish off blake some awesome walleye fishing hey we're going to be pulling some butterfly blades northland butterfly blades on slow death rigs we're gonna try to put some fish in the boat i think we got a i think we got a fish on board three brian i'll show you that stay tuned for a great show here from mullet lake [Music] [Music] fisherman's digest is brought to you by polarcraft the toughest built aluminum boats bar none dreamweaver home of the revolutionary spin doctor lose feel the difference wave pro best ride on the water [Music] first fish of the day hopefully we can get a limit that third board yeah well he's cranking that board in here i'll show you what you're what we're using this is the northland smile blade this one's just a little bit of yellow chartreuse to it it's a single hook rig with slow death and we're basically just suspended fish fishing today bottom one third of the water column pulling real slow normal spinner speed 1.3 you know 1.4 we're just putting the bottom bouncers out on offshore trolling boards and we're going to show you hopefully a full limit of fish today for a couple of guys [Music] that was cool what depth are we brian 26 26 you know what happened though we kind of left the pressure we got away from this pressure and brian and i talked about that we've maintained good marks down at this end of the at this end of the troll but uh we had we had a lot of boats on the other end of the on the other end behind us and it was just so many boats that i think it was affecting the ability of the fish to really lock in so sometimes pressure yeah sometimes pressure can really affect whether the fish bite it might not affect their location they might stay there not necessarily swim away but they definitely go neutral or even negative and so you know sometimes uh sometimes just uh nice one brian will hold that up for you that's a real good one right there from that purple and that purple one and you know what i mean brian that's what we did is just a tournament tactic drive away from pressure look at how yeah they're just swallowing yeah when we get if there's nothing there brian might not be beautiful fish number two hey mullet lake walleye are biting we're still early in the morning there's one get him blake get him blake they got him blake oh my goodness it's a bird it's a perch just lift them right in that's the perfect one it's a nice one we're gonna keep we're gonna keep him blake we're gonna we're gonna eat him hold that up for the camera show how we ate that thing awesome good job so this is what we're talking about you can see we're in a big open flat area and you can see the marks right there on the bottom we get a waypoint up in front of us and uh we're just doing slow trolls but you can see there's walleyes here we haven't uh i don't think we've gotten to the real bite on the day yet seems like they've been pretty lethargic we've also had a lot of boat pressure and uh i think that boat pressure has got these fish just not biting and i think as the boats leave these fish will turn on but look right there i mean clearly big groups of walleyes are here we just have to wait for him to start biting fisherman's digest is brought to you by angler quest built with purpose traxxtek the ultimate fishing system strike king taiwan on garmin we were running all bottom bouncers this morning that's uh been what i've that's been what i've been doing but it just wasn't happening so we switched to one ounce inlines and this one i think is about 40 feet back with a northland butterfly blade it feels like a nice heavy fish what's nice about these longer rods is you got a really good chance of landing these fish from the head pound because that soft tip will really soak up a lot of that show that one off right we'll take this here is your uh 20 inch northern michigan walleye this color too this northland green with that almost clear with the green that's been the hot lure lately third one today yeah beautiful nice walleye he's active a little bugger yeah look at this we're starting to get a bag starting to get a bag they're all hiding under here but uh we got lots of nice walleyes in the box today way to go bry yup just swooping these planer boards right over top of that structure there's the structure here's our boat our plane of boards are out here so we're just trying to swoop it i'll slow down a little because i got a little crazy with it fish on there's the uh there's your exact example oh yeah walleye no nice keeper walleye see that see how that works blaker i showed it to you we just talked about it we just showed you we're just coming off that hump look at all the fish hanging off the edge but the second blake's in two inside rods went over the the structure boom he had a he had a walleye immediately and that's the cool thing is this boats have cleared out we have some recreational boats out here for sure i mean guys running around having fun it's it's the last weekend of summer but we've got a nice chop now so 15 foot humps are going to be a great place to fish even though it's the middle of the afternoon because we don't have fishing pressure and we have wind and that's the key if you're going to fish shallow stuff you got to have wind and you can't have other boats beaten on the same stuff as you you've got to be by yourself when you get that recipe pump hop beat your stuff into the bottom go to the next one don't be patient if they're on that hump they're there to feed and they'll bite your bait but don't go slow don't go one three or one four on humps you gotta go one six one seven you gotta hit it nice one nice one oh blakey yeah look at that that's a good one that is a good one good job buddy you wanna throw them in the live well heck yeah look at this bag we got going now so one of the most important tools i have on my angler quest 24 as we're fishing today is my garmin force trolling motor and along with that trolling motor is my remote control fob now what i really really find convenient and also uh really really useful is the fact that i can be 20 feet back in the back of the boat setting it up with this hanging around my neck or just set next to me on a bench and i can control the direction of the steering and i can also troll control my speed everything is at my fingertips and a lot of people don't understand that when you put a high quality powerful trolling motor on the front of a pontoon it becomes as versatile as any multi-species deep v aluminum i can spot lock and perch fish and bluegill fish with this boat i can forward troll extremely slowly which we are right now with my remote control on heading hold and what heading hold does is if you see that head it's constantly adjusting what it's done is when i push the button it will maintain the exact bearing and course that it was on when i pushed that button so it allows me to basically turn away and just be able to fish and not pay any attention of course for boats in front of me but not about which way my boat is going this is locked into a compass bearing if i want to change that i simply go right or left every click is a degree so if i want to make a five degree adjustment i push the right uh button five times and it'll move me five degrees to the right same to the left or if i want to make a major adjustment like a 180 turn i simply hit the heading hold button and take heading hold off and then take manual control of my boat turn my boat around re-engage heading hold and i'm going the other direction the poor strolling motor with the remote control fob is absolutely an essential part of my course of my presentation here on the angler quest pro troll 24. fisherman's digest is brought to you by offshore tackle products flow fast world's leading portable fluid transfer system drotto catch and release boat system hey guys i just want to talk about our presentation that we've been running today on mullet lake and i've actually i've been running this rig pretty much on every inland body of water all summer long even lake erie and that's the northland butterfly blade every single rig that we have out today is a northland butterfly blade with the uh the death roll hook on it that rig has been my number one rig on pretty much any inland lake all summer long um today in particular we got a couple in-lines out but today our best presentation is on a two ounce bottom bouncer with this slow death rig but made by northland um that's by far best this purple color here has been really dominant as well as this green i like the size one and size two northland butterfly super death rig that's uh that's the rig that we've been using if you come and base yourself sheboygan area for a fishing trip or a regular vacation you not only have the waterway burton mullet but you have black lake which is a fantastic fishing lake you have fletcher's pond and hubbard lake isn't a very far drive away either all of these lakes offer fantastic fishing and you have additional fishing based resorts resorts like jack's landing for example on fletcher's pound which is uh been around for a million years basically as long as i've been alive jack's landing has been a vacation destination you've got fantastic accommodations in sheboygan like the river terrace the best western which looks right at the waterway you've got the landings resort which is right on the waterway pontoon george we call them has been around forever and they have on the water gas and they've got fantastic rentals it's just a great quick stop and and it's just that type of environment that you get when you get into the sheboygan area the state of michigan has done a fantastic job of maintaining the hiking trails the biking trails the boat launches the state parks the entire package of things to do around this area is so complete that families really have to always look at this area at sheboygan as a fantastic place to begin their destination i mean the mackinaw bridge is less than an hour away the lady michigan which is up in alpena which is a really cool tour ship and an a museum and it's all water-based it's all about the shipwrecks and the history of those shipwrecks and it's got a fantastic tour boat that takes you out and it's a glass bottom boat and you can actually see those things so it's really a fantastic base hey guys thanks for joining us today on destination outdoors thanks to brian bice for to be caught charters for putting us on a great bite for
