MUDLARKING the river Thames for lost treasure at Rotherhithe With Nugget Noggin

- mud locking grates going down in front of the Mayflower pub with a Mayflower pioneers left for America and that's the steps down to the river and that's where we're going pretty dramatic down there isn't it oh yes chill Bill's gonna try to get down the slippery slope but doing himself a mischief so the my Clark's fine nice and folks from the path in the river and they put them here so the father can get them back well they don't take him out there don't know there's probably reason that is how major forked and major knife each it's in the river people drop it in you wonder where they're doing the on purpose that's how the stuff we get gets in the river here we are on the foreshore and we've got sy fines and Nugget dog in out by their tired line that's gonna go a lot further out that's upstream to the city that's downstream to the sea let's cross the river to the north side steal bills down there somewhere way in the distance a little I love heart there I thought it might be a little lock for a minute it could be a little lock but probably just an encrusted iron ring that got me going unfortunately the top of the nail head my friend here helped me to find this wonderful coin by saying I'd never find anything in this spot and of course the moment you say that ups gonna come the gold so without without his help I would have never found it look at that that is going to be could be Roman could be a lump of silver sort of childish could be a LED token hard to say at this point but you can see there's a little bit of stuff going on there so that's that I can go to home now days made little dais works on the foreshore I thought is worth the test it's an 86 it's a big big R signal so you might be right I just got it's Roman he isn't happy Capri I think yeah Roman Roman is if it was mine if it's my coin I would love to try and bend it see if it was if I had any flecks in it to see if it was later but I don't want to do it whatever is is old and it's round and it's thin and it's not chunky and it can be until I wash it and find out it's something that was oh so token from 1972 this is going to be Roman if you can't dream you shouldn't be down here well ii find of the day that nice round coin that might be roman that might not be and might be silver that might not be that might be delayed most probably is and now there's a little copper things so the dais is doing extremely well what I've done is I turned up the reactivity which means that when it goes over a signal it ignores it really fast so you can zero in on him so he goes bbbbb rather than being ba-bong so you can get in and out of all the noise in here and I've turned the iron noise down to zero so I'm not really getting much of that there's not a little piece of copper went over it being me being there is so back to the treasure discovery have a good day here first 10 minutes lovely but of course that normally means you never find anything else the next three hours got this - got lovely land got lots of tide so let's go on with it well the hf concern a winkle between the iron and here's a small bare copper absolutely surrounded by big square now well I've got a lovely coin overnight what more do you need to know about the HF tears down on the portal they look good for a moment I just spotted this I don't think my detectors gonna do very well on this particular lump of earth because it's all solid nails that Rick pile is just nails at $10,000 a ton it's probably worth just digging up for the copper at $10,000 a ton this must be a half a ton there so there's probably $5,000 with the copper nails they're just for scrap I've got my coin so everything else is free but this is why it's so difficult down here to find things look at that that says coin you like that but it's just a copper nail and there's thousands of them down is where they give you a copper signal but they'll also look round when you find them now thinking my coin - because down further downstream their art River wash when they're round like that that means they've actually been rolled around in the river and lately just been around long ago baby thirty years ago they weren't so much in the river but that's very nice nice little connection there and because the anglo-saxons used to embed them in it pretty much everything yeah exactly very valued back then but yeah what I plan to do as well is give some of these away because they'll sit in my drawer not doing very much but I'd like to see them in jewelry maybe a ring or not doing very much what do they do well they just sit there and just be garnets but it would be nice if they were actually part of a little jewelry setting I don't know anything you can think of so coming up this year I'm going to do a garnet giveaway we got to do is email me give me a reason why you want them what you're gonna do with them then I'll continue them and it'll be nice to get a photo back of how you've actually used sword and I would say that's probably from the 1700s maybe 1600s that's my find of the day of my find the chips so far and look at these guys got some for cage there some PI pitch there some knowledge some knife each Eagle on there maybe other sense to be glitch it's a button oh forgot my bun yeah had a shake on the back yeah so here's my finds lovely pipe a lovely LED token two bits of button each and this absolutely stunning shape end for a rapier and this would have been the end of the scabbard of a rapier and it was just lying there unfortunately these two sharp eyed lads missed it I was they would have got it and I wouldn't have we left it for you I bet he did you know he's nice like that and I would have been very sad you know how you like it like a lump of something being rough I love that that's a that's something year lump of rust there no Oh Ivan actually cried too I think it's just a wash up or a French coin with hole in the middle why Chinese coin with a Chinese probably the hole in the middle oh very nice so look at all this stuff look at all this stuff and all those other people we met had also got lots of stuff that's niche oh look at that look at that look at that majority of the good funds as you told me to say awesome awesome which one is pretty my my favorite fine that's tremendous yeah just because it's unusual it's designed it's light it's got a heads or maybe a lion's head with cannons behind it no surprise the Caribbean logo does skull crossbones you know the flag inside there's also an axe or something they're like a long axe maybe very nice and it's got behind it a little bit of a great shot now that is great shot a guy showed us one he found it was like way bigger than great shot I think the little one with the little one gone yeah I think this is grapes this is canister maybe so being a canister in a cannon and blown out like a giant shotgun but this is grape shot which is similar this would be a bag of that and they stick that in the cannon and blow out that's bigger but that would be kind of designed not just to take out people but to take out you know things like both sides and and sales and and make major problems musket balls nice nice is that is this a nice isn't it that's weird yeah it's like an oil crystal ball to honor yeah so I personally think it's a smaller version of this and yeah we're would've been cast in a mold it hasn't been cut off yet yeah that's where it's being in the Azzam absolutely when they've cast in a mold you get that sprue but in chemists ah they didn't bother they could always just left it okay
