hi guys Mark Sim hanger here well the Eternal question does size really matter well we're about to find out this is my Republic of Gamers Rog strix gaming case and unfortunately it's one of the larger cases I'm going to be fitting the 4090 today and giving it a test and uh I thought you'd like to see the case and this was the previous King of the Hill it's the RTX 3090 it's an EVGA xc3 graphics card done me well but it's about to be replaced with this it's the Asus tough gaming graphics card um the OC or overclock Edition I don't know how much it's been overclocked but the actual size of the 1490 while it's absolutely massive look at the size of that look at the width of it I mean it is just crazy perhaps this will give you some idea of the difference in size between the RTX 1390 and the 1490. well today I'm going to be fitting this card into the case and then giving it a test and I just thought it would be interesting for you to see actually just how big these things are it's massive and it's not that light anyway I'll see you a little bit later on welcome to the Sim Hangar my name's Mark thanks for watching and let's get started at the moment trying to get your hands on a Founder's Edition 4090 well it's next to Impossible and I refuse to go to the scalpers so I opted for the Asus tough gaming card my motherboard is also Asus as well as my case and a number of other components I've been an EVGA man for many years but that's no longer practical or possible you're looking at some pictures I took of the card again just to emphasize the amazing size and the install straightforward very much like any other graphics card providing it'll fit in your case the only tricky bit of course is the power cable I need to thread through four separate power cables don't use Loop power cables fit them to this adapter and then into the graphics card before jumping for a 1490 there are a few other considerations if you'd like to know what they are then check out this video link in the notes below well the wonders of time lapse photography well it's it as you can see all in and install them about to boot it up and see whether or not it works a bit of a Rat's Nest here in terms of the cabling because you've got that one cable to four power cables from your power supply unless you've got one of the new ATX 3.0 pcie 5 power supplies I might have to think about getting one of those so it's a little bit ugly but it's in and again there's the 3090 guys in comparison give you some idea of the size difference it's enormous well now I'm going to Power It Up get into Microsoft flight simulator and give it a go I'll see you just now well fortunately it booted up all okay we're going to jump into Microsoft flight simulator in a moment and give it a try I haven't configured my system for this card this is just First Impressions I'm not using the open XR toolkit or my settings stay very much as it was before and I'm using the latest graphics driver as of time of recording this video I'm in the add-on aircraft mb339 and we're heading to New York I'm using dlss on quality level at 4K and all my settings on Ultra I know between 80 and 90 FPS feel super smooth but will have plenty of time to test this in the future but I'm particularly interested in of course is VR so let's give it a go once again on dlss and quality mode and we're now going to tune and fly through Manhattan whole objective is to stress this card out to the max let's just see what it's capable of with my existing settings I will of course do a full and detailed follow-up video with performance and recommended settings for best performance but right now it's time to have some fun now I hope this comes out okay on the video for me in the headset it's absolutely super smooth there's no micro stutters I've had one pause I think it was loading in the scenery and what I hope I can achieve is a setting where I don't have to worry about that extra little special tweak I can set it and forget it this is now stressing the card out to the max flying low down a street through Manhattan think I'll be breaking a few Windows here seem to be varying between 55 and 60 odd FPS make sure you stay tuned for my future video and if you enjoyed it don't forget to hit the like button it helps the channel thanks very much for joining me today I'll see you soon take care and bye bye for now
