[Music] hello this is veno welcome back to my channel today what I wanted to do is talk about a self-tanning clothes hitch system and perform a little bit on it so this is a closed hip system here in this system you'll have a French press ik with an eye-to-eye connected to a carabiner that's what's make makes it a closed system a micro pulley and another carabiner connected with the terminal not a termination knot so how this works is you'll connect it to your belt it's a little different than say when you would use a Blake's hitch and you'd have your set up with a bridge and you pull from under your knot in this system you really have to pull from above you're not and then you tend your rope underneath the pulley so it's this kind of emotion some some people don't really like the way this works so this is kind of how it works for you you have to tend from underneath you do usually a couple of pulls and then you just proceed up with so now to come down you just a couple of fingers on here in and come on down and that's kind of how that works so what I want to show you is a self tending closed hid system about four years ago I did a video on a self tending Blake's system so this is almost the same kind of concept the only difference is that you're going to use a midline clove hitch to be the part that is gonna tend your line so to do that you put some slack in your line well this is your working end so on you're working and you're gonna find like a distance that you want for a pull so for me maybe about a foot so I'll make a clove in my line it's connected to me already so that I'm gonna get my carabiner here with my my micro pulley and my carabiner now I got that set now what I'm going to do is tie my close hits now what's good about the clove hitch is it cinches down and it doesn't let it run so your your carabiners not gonna roll on you it's important to have something like a clove hitch okay so now this is the length that I'm gonna want and because my I usually put the on my post I put the carabiner on on one of the right side I'd rather have it toward the center oops so I'm going to put it in the center now what I'm going to do is I'll pull this up and what this clove hitch does is it will tend my line for me so on every pool it's going to move up so put my gloves on and I'll proceed up the tree so if you're used to like say the Blake ditch or a taut line this system is kind of the same kind of thing but it's a closed hitch system so you just kind of do a body thrust like you normally would oops my lines out twist it and you just keep on walking up the trees now what's kind of good about this is you can do when you get like to a point you can do hand over hand but you have to be careful because sometimes some of these friction hitches may run on you if you do that so this is the point where I want to be okay so now that I reach to this point and I'm going to advance all I really need to do is I'll get my carabiner with my my climbing hitch and I'll undo the clove pretty nice it falls right out and now I'm going to connect to my post okay now I'm going to advance my termination so I'll take it off of this side and now I'm gonna go a little bit higher in the tree so I'll give myself some slack okay okay those perfect I'll go back down get my I mean now I'll connect it to my poster now that I'm set I'm gonna undo my lander okay and then I'll proceed up for you now I have to tend this way come back to the regular clothes ticket system and so what I'm gonna do is sit on my land here and I'll be ready to advance higher alright now that I've already reset my line a little higher I'm gonna retie with the self tending system again so what I'll do is I put slack in my line again and on my my working in I'll make that in midline clove okay I'm I'll throw my climate hitch back into the club make it tight make sure that it's snug so it's not gonna run on me put a little bit of weight on my system make sure it's gonna hold me now that I'm sure it's gonna hold I'll undo my lanyard and now I'm back to using the self-tanning part again so pull my line so once I get up there right and I'm gonna reef so I up my lanyard a little okay my lanyard so I'm set get off of my line so all I need to do now is loosen up the clove a little disconnect it from my working end it falls out and put a little bit of tension and now I'll connect to the center post put my weight on it loosen my lanyard I'm falling back to the regular system and ready to work the tree go on down it's so that was the self tending closed hit system a real good system if you already have a closed system by just adding this clove hitch to your system it allows you to tend upward remember that when you're doing it having like a clove hitch that captures your carabiner so you're not able to side load your carabiner is really important really good addition to it remember also that if you're doing the hand over hand method some hitches will run on you if you come back off so be careful if you do that remember always if it's something new to you remember to do work alone slow that was a South tendon closed hitch system hope you guys enjoyed the video comment like and subscribe hit that notification bell if you like what we do and let you know when we upload new stuff also if you know people who like this kind of stuff dealing with trees share the video one bit will be much appreciated take care [Music]
