of course you know i'm doing a lot i'm doing a lot of talking about chicago tonight but i i you know i don't want to just talk about chicago i wanted to get outside and see this city for myself lucky for me lucky for me i got a personalized guided tour from a native of the city and here is what happened okay i'm in downtown chicago i'm really looking forward to seeing the city i thought i'd have a a local show me around someone who was born here grew up here really knows what he's talking about he should be here any minute [Applause] all right what are you taking me team i'm gonna take you to my neighborhood south side of chicago okay mr t i asked you to show me around chicago and you've taken me about uh i don't know it looks like seven miles south of the city center and we're in abandoned field what's what's this all about this spot right here 10 floors up it was the robert tiller project 40 22 south state street i grew up here so this is this is this is your home right here right this is my roots this is nice oh look your old bicycle chain is here look at that from your bicycle you funny thanks this is the playground you used to play in well well it's gonna change a little bit between me and you but it's a this is the area you know you want to go on this slide it's wet come on my booty is wet your booty slide down come on you're mr t and you're saying your booty's wet come on and say we on the way down you white guys already helping the brother go first what's your name let's review t is for tough it's for tender no you also said it's for being on time time does tears stand for taffy nah uh you know sometimes sometimes the t-stem is stuff that don't even rhyme with teeth not like what like nice okay this is an important spot you better believe it home of the world champion chicago are you a white sox fan been a white sox fan i'm gonna tell you a joke that might sound horny i was the white sox fan when they was all white white socks white socks my stance is i like to be a little bent on the back leg kind of like the front leg hanging way up high i like my ass this part of the ass sticking out a lot what i like to do is i like to have the ball like the bat real loose real loose that doesn't work sometimes i like to hold it on this end no good oh boy boy thank goodness for these cages all right all right [Applause] [Music] hour that's the potential building well it says prudential right there do you seem to know the buildings that have the name written on that's important to have a name written that's likely you know i know that you know if you don't if you got a big building and your name not written on it i'm not going to recognize it how y'all doing all right now be good nah always tell me to be good you know what me and kona is that your message be good be good be good all right be good because everybody can be good you know sometimes i tell them if they're a little old i tend to be cool and they're basically the same thing so who do you tell to be good and who do you tell to be cool time see if you if you're under 12 i'll tell you to be good right if you're over 12 like 13 and up i tell you to be cool now what if someone's like in their 60s you don't tell them to be cool yeah i i tell them to uh be thankful be thankful yeah don't talk too much now don't talk too much not me that's you that's your mohawk throwing us off balance let's just bring back any memories this part is this bar right here nah i mean over there see that villain with the flag on it yeah uh that's the when you have a traffic ticket you go down there it's not a duck oh a piece of wood no it's not a it's not a piece of wood that's a duck that's a duck quack quack quack quack i'll pity the food all right t you've got to trust me we don't do too much don't do too much i'm doing all right should i back up i'm getting this away from that box this is good you know you know i like driving you around you know i sort of feel like uh driving mr daisy this is beautiful yes and you know something else right this is where my acting first acting career started i was the extra in the blues brothers i was in the crowd i think they paid me about 25 for 12 hours that was a little time ago you know what did you look like no i didn't i didn't have my uh i think i had a bald head then [Applause] [Music] okay t uh what is this this is the famous serious tower can we hook arms and skip on our way in i mean i'll do this for you i don't do this with nobody else and skip with me i'll skip with your arms and skip with him i never i'm going to tell you hulk arms and skipping between me and you i i never skipped with a white guy before i do it for you i do it for you now i'm new at this i gotta learn how to do it thank you [Applause] tricks

I would have paid a hefty subscription fee to see a travel show that was Anthony Bourdain and Conan just getting blasted and touring around.

A crossover between 'No reservations' and 'Conan without borders'

I couldn't go to the show because I was in school, and I was taking night classes, but my school was directly behind the Chicago Theater. The back door to the Chicago Theater empties into the alley next to my school's building, so I saw the band hanging out in the alley smoking, and when I left class for the night I saw Andy hanging out signing autographs. So one of our campuses was behind the Chicago Theater, and the other was in the Merchandise Mart. I was walking along the river between campuses and I saw people in a canoe on the river. I thought "gross! who would canoe in the Chicago River?" (this was back in 2006 when the river didn't have any fish in it because it was so dirty). I get home and watch the episode to realize who it was.

Thankfully the travel show is something close to this. Well, as close as we are going to get I suppose. Still, I'll always take more Conan.
