[Music] hey guys welcome back to another episode of mount and blade bannerlord today we're going to be doing things very different um i've got a suggestion for somebody to do a guide on trading so that's what we're going to be doing today i'm just going to run you through the basics of the trade and how to make a lot of money in the early game from it as well uh i made up a new character for this literally just made him up just recruited a couple of men so i wouldn't get attacked and yeah not done anything at all really gave him a decent little bit of money to start off with just so i'd have something to get started on the trade with really so we're going to go ahead and run through the basics the trading is very easy you can either level up your trade skill and get really good at it and make it really simple but honestly it's something you can do at a level zero you can you can start pretty much straight away just need a little bit of money and you can get into it almost immediately so yeah we'll go in obviously the first thing we want to do is head into the trade tab now you can trade things like horses and weapons as well as armor but ideally you don't want to because you're you don't know where you're going to get profits as easy with these as with your actual trade goods now to get to your trade goods you can just scroll down on the all items page or you can make it really simple for yourself and just go ahead and click on the misc miscellaneous there this will give you everything that you can trade except for the animals down the bottom which again you can trade but they're not trade goods so we have two different types of things that we can trade we have our luxury goods down here at the bottom like jewelry velvet leather linen fur pottery tools you know so on things like this just basic things and then we have our food things like salt and hardwood and clay which are lower value but um yeah that's essentially it really they're lower value and they're more related to food rather than these which are luxury goods so we'll just go ahead and run through it so essentially when it comes to trading you can either just eyeball it so you can use no information just have a look so because we've gone to a few other cities like charis and sago it means that we can see because we remember what the prices were so if we have a look at grain here the value of grain is eight here which is really really low now if we take that if we buy one here for eight dinars and we go over to charis we can then sell that for 26 dinars so already you can see we've just made a huge profit on that because all we're spending is eight and we're getting 26 back so we could do that with grain and we can also have a look at other things so here we can look at grapes we can buy 16 server 23 but our profit margins aren't as good and those prices are due to change by the time you get there so it probably wouldn't be 23 by the time you get there might be a little bit less and depending on your trade skill you might have a trade penalty so you might actually lose out on that because it's just too close so you want to avoid things that um don't give you a massive margin so like 16 and 19 there's no way there's no way we'd do that because we'd probably end up losing money on that one but we've got other things like this so we could buy these dates here at 22 and sell them for 43 at sago again that's quite easily a profit and yeah we've got loads of other things we can have a look at if we have a look at butter it even tells us we could buy this for cheaper at that other city for saiyan and then we can also sell this for 60 at charis so we could go ahead we leave the space not buy any here go with a forsean buy loads for 22 and then head over to charis and sell for 60. so it's really really really quite simple again beer we could make huge profits there we can buy for 34 and we can sell 99. we're just going to go ahead and make it quite simple we're going to buy loads of grain because there's got so many the more of these we buy the less likely the price is going to change for it but we've gone over our capacity there so it's only going to cost us 280 and we'll have a look and see what profits we make when we get to the other city now we've gone over our weight a little bit so a way that we can counteract this so we can become more of a caravan type party is by getting horses ideally mules because they're cheap they're not very good obviously we're not going to be using them for combat and um yeah they're very very cheap very easy very efficient so we're just going to go ahead we can buy one and instantly you can see we've now expanded our weight so we can go ahead and buy another one too and with that we can go ahead and buy some more grain and see how much more we can grab there we go over so we'll give a couple back there so we're going to be paying 698 obviously taking the mules to account that's going to take a little bit of the cost away from us as well but we'll go ahead and we will buy them there so we'll go ahead and leave and i said we could sell them at charis for 23 and now luckily for us charis is just over here not far away at all it's about a day or two's in-game ride not far not far at all so we'll go ahead and we'll speed that up just show you the whole process there's multiple different aspects to trading we've also got things we can get like caravans and i'll show you the luxury goods afterwards this but we'll just start along with the basic and easy cheaper items that we can trade like the food items it's very simple the best thing about buying the food items obviously you're not going to get as massive profits on them as other things but as we can see we barely had to travel to um actually sell these items so we'll go ahead in here now as i said the trade is due to fluctuate this isn't just due to the product but also due to your level of trade and the level difficulty you have in the game so it told us they were going to sell for 23 we take 12 off of that which you know you don't know it changes every time obviously the price always changes but we can go ahead and sell pretty much all of them so it went down by one coin that's just because of um how many they have is going to change the price as well so us selling them has reduced the buy price and as you can see we've just made 511 from that which compared to how much we spent which i think was about what 600 and that was with the two mules so we've just made a profit so we can go ahead and press done there and we need a trade point [Music] because you know we've just conducted a good trade we bought something and sold it for profit so we're going to get a point for that very easy way to level up so what we could do we've made a profit we're going to go ahead and buy it to do mules now i'll show you just the trade without the um the horses and we'll go from there so we're gonna have a look at something else uh what else could we buy we could get dates and sell the sago margin's a bit tight so we're probably going to avoid that everything here it seems to be quite expensive see as it tells us there it's all by buy and buy that means that this isn't this is quite a high price so we can get this cheaper somewhere else so we'll avoid getting that here it sells sell sell so that's a really good one to get we'll get a couple of those keep an eye on the price and make sure it hasn't got too much so if it goes you know if it fluctuates about 10 maybe 20 just um yeah don't go for too much you don't have to buy them all so we go ahead get seven oils and that's 479 and it tells us the best place to sell them is where we just came from artisia so we'll go and we'll head back there now we don't have to keep running between cities we could just buy a whole bunch of different things from here and then we could start traveling around to the map we could even go city to city to city and just you don't even have to look at anything you could just buy a couple of every item and every city you get to you can scroll through and just see which ones you're going to make a profit on as you increase your trade skill it will actually start to mark your profits so they'll come up with a dark green if you're making a big profit or a light green if you're making a little profit which makes obviously trading very very easy i think you get that point at level 25 trade so you get that really early on you could even make a character that has that as you start the game so you can make trading massively simple for yourself but um yeah we'll go ahead we'll jump into here we can sell those for eight each obviously we've lost one i forgot to mention because our men do eat them unfortunately my fault because i didn't buy any crane but as you can see had we had more of them obviously we would have made a much bigger profit but we have made a profit there already so we'll go ahead and buy them we get another point into our trade there the more goods we can buy and the more we can sell at a single time obviously the more trade points we're going to get the more money you make profit wise the better you're going to do goes without saying so we'll have a look and see what sort of luxury goods we can sell if we have a look here now the velvet it says we can buy at 198 and we can sell at maranath for five to eight obviously we're spending a massive amount more money and if we have a look at the map mariner don't remember it is from memory but usually with the luxury items there's an added cost which is how far away you have to go to sell them now i can't see it at all i don't know if i'm being really stupid okay because so usually when you buy luxury items it's really far away i was expecting it to be on the other side of the map in this case we've got really lucky maranath is just above us here not far at all so we can tell immediately that's a really good profit so we'll go ahead and buy we're keeping on the price because obviously as we sell these that's going to drop massively per one that we sell because there's so few of them that you can buy only five so each one is going to drop the cost and the price massively so we don't want to get too many so we're keeping on the price there we'll buy we'll just buy the lot and i can show you what happens so now we'll head over to maranath not too far at all which is nice and simple nice and easy for us and we'll just carry on with that yeah like i said the more money you get obviously the easier this becomes because the more items you can buy obviously as you make your profits you can invest your profits into getting more horses and then expanding your inventory capacity also the more men you have increases your inventory capacity but i mean that goes without saying you also have to take into account your um daily goal change so if you're doing this and you've got quite a like a large force or just a small force but very high level troops you kind of have to weigh how much how far you're going with how much profit you're going to make because you've got to make sure that you can still pay your wages with a profit and still make a profit on top of that so you don't want to buy velvets and then have to travel to the other side of the map because by the time you get there you would have lost hundreds already even thousands maybe depending on what you're doing we'll go ahead and jump in here now that could be a penalty due to how much should we buy we bought the first one for what 190 so what could have happened there is either in the time that we went a caravan has come in and sold velvets here because of what profit margin there was um that is quite likely that that's what's happened so somebody's come in here because now they've got six so to be worth around 500 they shouldn't have had any so i think somebody's come here and beat us to it they've sold them first so somebody else has made massive profits we've just missed it this is something you have to take into account this isn't a mistake on your half this is just something that happens within the in-game mechanic so other people will be selling their items as well so we just got here that little bit too late but we haven't not is not all is lost what we can do is we can go ahead to the next best one which is sago and try and trade them for 341 because we've just made a mistake and because we're kind of a loss a little bit we don't want the same thing to repeat again so what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and buy some other goods so that we can continue making profits whilst we're on the road so we can go ahead and get beer but obviously we're gonna have to sell them sago anyway but we want to ideally try and make a stop before then so we could sell these at sago for quite a bit we'll buy some wines a decent chunk there probably spend about 500 yeah we'll go with that and then we'll head off to sago but we'll hit the nearby cities on the way so to gain information to gain that little buy and sell price all you have to do is enter the market enter the city and they'll give you that information there are other ways to do this one through skill points and another is through companions so as you progress through the game you get yourselves companions now to actually have them help you with trade or just anything else in general you can do two things with them you can create a separate party with them so they act as another member of your clan and have a party of their own and what they can do is as they move around the map and go into the cities themselves they can pass on information to you the same thing happens with a caravan so if you have a caravan with on your companions at the head moving around the map selling goods then they will feed you information they will tell you you could buy a really good thing here and then you could sell it for a lot of money over there so you don't even have to do that bit yourself you can just go ahead and use the information that they provide you but again you're going to have to make a lot of money because caravans can be very expensive to buy and obviously having a separate companion at the head of a party is also going to be another cost fee so you have to weigh up to what's worth it now we can have a look here so without even getting all the way to sago we can um sell some of our velvet out of profit here so i don't think we bought any for over 240. so we can go ahead sell one i think we bought one for about that price so we're not going to sell another one we know that 240 is a profit so we'll go ahead and sell that because it's one item it's not going to give us any trade points not yet so we'll carry on moving and we want to head down to sago just here not far away at all so we'll continue on with that so like as it goes without saying the luxury goods are a much bigger risk you're spending a lot more money and you can't guarantee that you're going to be getting that return it's going to send you around so you want to be comfortable with it yeah so the information there didn't lie so obviously when we got into maranatha we were just too late somebody had done it first as we've come here into sago the information was correct and we can in fact sell them for 371. so we'll go ahead and sell all of those now you see how much that dropped down so it went from 371 to about 250 that was only four items so you've got to be really careful on how you sell them too make sure you keep an eye on them and don't sell them all as a bulk make sure you click through them individually and keep an eye on the cost because you don't want to then turn your profits negative so we'll go ahead and sell those we should get another point we've got three points for that because we made a huge lump of money there and then we'll go and head and sell the wines and obviously you can see it tells us we're going to buy them cheaper everywhere else we can more or less sell them all get about 48 but that's still profit there you go we've got another two points just sold that for near 800 dinars so we've nearly in fact leveled up our trade skill to the first one as you can see here we haven't got it yet i don't know if we will get it in this episode we'll try we'll try obviously to upgrade us trade skill better quicker we're gonna need a lot more money anyway but as you can see these are the two skills so we've got a 15 decrease in sale price penalty for equipment so if we buy weapons armor shields anything like that um our price penalty goes down so we can sell them from like a larger margin get more profits from them and our profits are marked so if we buy something it will have a neutral color and then we go into another town it will either give us a red a dark red a light red um a dark green or a light green obviously dark green meaning we've made a big profit on it like green meaning that we've made a little profit on it and the dark red meaning do not sell in this place because you are losing money now we'll just go ahead and put all of our focus points in this so we can gain our trade skill a little bit quicker and um we'll head back into saga and see what else we can buy and trade so if you want to take it one step further what you can do is you can start to make a list or if you're really good and can remember it really well just memorize the prices so as you go throughout the lands you can kind of gauge what's a good price to buy at and what's a good price to sell at um certain cities around the map will have much cheaper goods so i think around the edge and the border of the game the cities have much cheaper goods when it comes to food goods not so much trade goods and obviously when you come into the center and more into the empire's lands everything's a little bit more expensive but what it means is you can buy on the outskirts and sell high in the centre um so we could grab a couple more luxury items here you could go for fairs not making much of a profit there so obviously not everywhere you go guarantees that you will make profit everywhere usually has like one or two items that they sell that you will make a profit somewhere else but not everywhere guarantees that so if we look here if we bought leather or hides in maranath we could have sold them for around 60 70 here [Music] and same with a lot of other things that they're selling so you could go for really cheap items like flax and clay or you could go for more expensive items like the leather and the jewelry and things like that so this place doesn't seem too good um their prices are quite high not a lot we can buy and sell [Music] so we could settle and just get something but there's not much point we want to make sure that we can guarantee profit so we'll carry moving on we'll get some cities that we haven't gone to yet just get some information about their markets as well because that will continue to feed our knowledge on what we can buy and sell we'll head into jacqueline and see if they've got any different prices so head over to the miscellaneous there you go so instantly at the very top we've got olives seven dinars per barrel as you can see we can pretty much sell that anywhere for a profit because that's really cheap they're selling 350 so we could go ahead and buy loads of them again guys without saying we're not going to make huge profits on these but we are still going to make profits we can buy some horses i think we want mules now we'll just reduce how many oils we've taken until we're within capacity so mules are better for transportation horses do provide a little bit but not as much as mules do so we'll go ahead and buy those and we'll have a look and just see if there's any luxury goods that we can buy and sell anywhere else good buy some pottery make a little bit of profit on them uh or i think that's about it for this place hides we could go for but it's a little bit riskier we could head back to charis sell some of those can't take too many though so we'll get rid of 10 more olives and we'll buy some hides that's going to drive up what we're paying so yeah we'll head over to charis now and then we'll once we've solved these things i'll run through the last mechanic and then we'll wrap up there not last mechanic but last main thing that you can get sort of started with so runners are here and as we can see so we bought them for about 40 we can sell them for about 100 and we didn't have to travel far this is very dependent on where you go they're massively dependent um another another factor you can measure in is if you study the villages around the nearby city that you're going to be trading from as we can see also the olives have a higher price here as well so we could go ahead and sell those until the price starts dropping which it won't we bought them for seven so all of that is a profit we can go ahead and sell there one more point and we've upgraded our skill our trade skill and then i can show you the really when it gets really easy so we'll try and get our last little bits here and sell them off we go for wine again because we know that we can sell them at autisia for a little bit higher or sago even so we know we should get them all so the max we paid is 47 so no matter what we don't sell one for less than 47. we'll head to artisia first but yeah as i said so before you head into the city have a look uh it says its bound villages are vezin and 7th so we can have a look here now their primary productions olives and their primary production is horses so we could we could know that the information in this place is that olives and horses are going to be slightly cheaper because they produce them right outside of the walls another thing we could do we know that both those villages sell like produce horses and olives so instead of even buying from the city we could go straight to the source because it's going to be even cheaper there so if we went into that village we could probably get olives for a ridiculously cheap price because they produced them there so we could we don't even have to trade city to city we could trade village to village or village to city you can either even trade city to village obviously cities have more money so they're more valuable but if you're transporting um a decent sum of luxury goods and lots of little cheap goods then as you're traveling you want to keep your profits going so you could sell at each village you get to i will show you that in a minute and i'll just show you the differences between price so we know we can go ahead and sell anything that's above 47 which is all of it obviously our prices our profits get smaller towards the end but we're still making a profit so we can sell that and we'll buy a couple meals and there we go we're now at trade point levels 26 so we can go ahead and we get wholesaler because we're not going to be trading in equipment we're going to be trading in trade goods so we're going to get wholesaler there now what we can do is we can go into the trade tab and as you can see there that's gone kind of like a light red orange color and that tells us that we're not going to make profits here from where we bought them so it doesn't really matter what we buy now so let's go ahead and we're going to buy 10 beers [Music] now what we can do silver ore let's have a look how much are they selling silver ore here for so selling silver we could buy it for 75 which is cheaper as you can see than most places that we've been to so far now if we go over to the verge now every time that's hope doesn't make me look full we're going to buy products it's gone up so you can't guarantee it every time um if we went to another village that was selling it it could possibly also be that somebody has just come in here and bought them because they haven't got that many but most of the time when you head into a village you can buy cheaper from the source uh but yeah that is also something that happened so always check don't just go straight to the villages and buy it always check first and make sure that it is cheaper but it is just something to take into account it's usually better with the um the food goods rather than trade goods so we're going to head over to lagater we've not been there yet i don't believe and we'll just show you how the oh dear i'll see you in a minute i'm just going to deal with this quickly hey guys right yeah sorry about that i wasn't paying attention and yeah just have to deal with those looters there very quickly but moving on we're coming to the end of the episode now anyway i'm just going to do this last little bit and show you the um the profit margin markers that's all and then we will be finishing off there this is a reminder this is just a basic guide to trading just to give you a simple idea of how it works at the beginning of the game we can go more in depth and obviously there are more things that we still get to explore like having different parties having caravans um having workshops having shops that actually produce trade goods we can walk into how all that works how you can make good profits from them and locations um in the main play through i don't really take into account too much i'm just kind of having a real decent feel through the game i'm not thinking about it too much i'm not going in depth just having a look but if you do take into account if you want to be more specific and guarantee you're going to get profits from things then yeah we can show you how to do that and we'll go into a more advanced tutorial on it as well yeah we'll just head over here let me just get rid of the all the looters crap that i managed to take and then yeah like i said so we don't have to trade trade goods either so those mules that we bought we can um get profits on them too so we could sell those because i think horses count as trade goods unbelievably because they count as food i think as weird as that is but yeah we can see here so because that's quite a dark green we've got there quite a light green i don't know if you can see that on the grain but it is a different shade of green it's not the neutral color that they normally use but anyway what we're looking at here is the beer which is coming up to 39 so we can guarantee it's not going to go any lower than that so you can guarantee that every single one of those is a big profit which is brilliant for us that's really really good that's what we want now i don't know if you've noticed it yet but with the silver ore we didn't buy this this is something i just gained from defeating those looters but as you can see there's no marker on it so we know that autisia the silver ore was much much cheaper to buy so had we bought it there and sold it here we'd be making a massive profit because we haven't bought this item it doesn't count as trade so we're not trading it we are just selling it we've acquired it and we're selling it so 135 that's all profit but that won't contribute towards your trade so you what you can't do to increase your trade skill is go and defeat bandits and go and attack caravans and steal their loot that doesn't count you can only buy from one source and sell another that is the only way that trade works but um yeah that is it that is the basic simple guide to how trading works in the world of mountain blade bannerlord obviously there are other things but like i've said we'll walk through those later on especially if they're requested as well but that is a basic guide if there's anything you still have questions on please let me know um if you think i haven't covered a point very well enough then let me know that as well but i hope this has cleared up some of your questions and just giving you a better idea of it uh we'll try and in the main playthrough i'll try and run through it a little bit more just every now and then i will um i'll focus on it a little bit so if you haven't got a great idea you can go ahead and watch that and have a look and see for yourself how it kind of works in just a play through format as well but um yeah i hope this has cleared up a lot of your questions and i really appreciate you guys for watching give me suggestions if you want to see the advanced tutorial on tutorial on other things like the warehouses and caravans let me know otherwise that probably won't be up too soon but i will get one done as quickly as possible but other than that yeah thank you guys for watching really appreciate it uh make sure you hit the subscribe and notification button so you can keep up to date with all of the content that's coming out really appreciate it guys thanks for watching i'll see you next one goodbye
