so over the past couple of weeks I have been reviewing and building and flying all of my standard cinewoops and all of my conventional fpv drones and I felt like my DJI Avada has sort of been pushed to the side a little bit however over this past weekend A friend of mine asked me to come out to their BMX track and film them For an upcoming event that they are going to be promoting I said sure I'll come out check you guys out and do some filming and after considering all the things that I could bring out there to use for filming I decided to bring the Avada and in this video I want to talk about my favorite feature of the Avada that I don't think is talked about enough let's get started [Music] wow [Music] foreign [Music] what's good everybody Ken here you're watching the original dobo and I just wanted to really sort of just talk about my overall experience having to use this for a tracking purpose now I have the defender 25 which I've been flying quite a bit as well this is a 4S cinewoop and it gets roughly about four minutes of flight if I'm really pushing it one downside to the defender 25 is you really can't strap a full-size GoPro to this and I wouldn't trust it with a full-size GoPro we would absolutely diminish the flight times and the overall stability however this is a very nice agile capable drone it's not the Avada and there's no sense in ever comparing it to the Avada because this has one Starlight feature that no other fpv drone has unless if you're running inav which is position hold now why is position hold so damn important and why is it all of a sudden like a big thing to me well I realized over this past weekend as I was filming these guys ride this Trail I kept utilizing position hold as I was waiting for them to line up for their shots it happened so much that I ended up just flipping toggle back and forth between manual and position hole manual to position hold quite frequently and most of the time I was just taking my goggles up waiting for them to line their shot up and then I was flipping the goggles down and popping it back in the manual and a couple of times as I was chasing them or tracking them through the trails I didn't see that there was a branch in my in my viewpoint because I wasn't flying in uh 4x3 I was flying in 16x9 I crashed into a tree and the Drone I thought the Drone was going to go down but the position hold I was able to flip it into position hold and save it from crashing not that it would have hurt itself because it was just mostly clay that it would have landed in but twice this thing was able to save it and twice I was able to save it when I was actually going to smash into something just by flipping it into the position hold so I really feel like that is something that is underutilized and I know like people are like well you should be able to control your drone and blah blah blah yeah that I just want to know that when I need to have a safety net it's going to be there and I gotta say that this was super reliable and the number two reason why I ended up using this over let's say my shendron squirt or even the defender 25 was the battery life even with the GoPro on top a full-size hero 11. I was getting roughly about eight and a half nine minutes of continuous flight which is still far superior to any of my fpv quads that I currently have and again the ability to sit there and hover and then just jump right back into the manual mode was absolutely awesome and it was something that just made me realize that I need to utilize this more professionally now you may be asking yourself why I opted to use the GoPro and not the 10-bit color internally on this and to answer that question it's uh it's simple I have two DJI avadas one of the avadas I went ahead and updated to the latest version which has the 10 bit color then I have this version which doesn't have the modified Motors and I never update it to the latest version because I just didn't want to deal with all the crazy remote ID crap yes I know that we have to be in compliance eventually but it's not mandatory right now and I didn't want to have to deal with that as I was trying to track people and have a phone plugged in although I did find myself keeping the phone plugged in because everybody wanted to see what I was seeing so yeah so I guess it worked out anyways I still had my phone plugged in but it wasn't that you know I need needed it for remote ID anyways I also like having the GoPro on here because it gives me added frame rate flexibility and it also lets me fly in 60 frames per second or 120 frames per second so I can see everything and I don't have to really worry about that 30 FPS stutter now this video was exported out in 30 FPS and all the footage that I shot was 30 FPS 4K 10 bit and uh filmed in the flat color profile on the GoPro and personally I find that that works absolutely awesome and it just works great and again added flexibility another nice thing I love about using the Avada when it comes to tracking is the ability to adjust the gimbal pitch when I need it so every Rider tends to hit the trail a little bit differently a little faster everybody has a different flow so what I was able to do is keep adjusting the pitch to match the individual Rider which is something you really can't do with a standard fpv drone not easily anyways and you can't do it on the fly so that's why I like this for tracking and honestly this is pretty much going to be a permanent fixture in my bag and I ended up ordering a third DJI Avada just in case I break this and plus two I just don't want to deal with uh with that firmware update it sucks I wish there was a way to downgrade it I've just learned my lesson don't update it any further than what it is I have not had any tumble with any of my quads so for me it's not even an issue it's not even something I ever think about but yeah a lot of people are like oh it's so stupid to mount a GoPro it's really not it's no different than anything else and for me it just works and it gets me badass footage like what you see here all right that's going to do it for this video If you enjoyed or if you feel the same way about the Avada if you think that this is probably one of the best cinewoops that you can use professionally let me know down below or if you just think it's a piece of let me know I'm uh I I like listening to both sides of the argument anyways I'll see you in the next video Stay original I heard they checking for me no one checking on me so I had to go run up a check I got the message Homie Ain't No flexing on me my attorney gonna call and collect blessings on blessings for me my successes only made him envious they got upset I had to put other eagles in check I want the money
