hey everyone pushing up roses here let's talk about some ridiculous puzzles I call this video my most ridiculous puzzles in video games part 1 because there might be a part 2 or even a part 3 but even if there isn't tacking on part 1 ain't going to hurt anything just preparing for the future for those who don't know moon logic is the term sometimes used for puzzles that don't make sense puzzles that make you say how would I have ever thought of that I'll be covering both moon logic and just silly puzzles in this video because sometimes a puzzle can simply be wacky and still kind of sort of make sense I've discussed this first game before as it's one of my personal favorites but it is the epitome of moon logic King's Quest 5 talk about blindly clicking on everything until something works to figure out puzzles this game has that in spades might I remind you that this is the game notorious for the yeti puzzle it involves throwing a pie at an oncoming Yeti blinding it with that delicious eggy custard and causing it to careen off a cliff because apparently getting dairy product in your eyes is so traumatizing you lose all sense of the space around you another instance of this game silly puzzles is when Graham needs to bypass the snake and as we all know it's a point make no problem you find an abandoned tambourine on one of the screens take it and shake it in front of the snake is that what a tambourine sounds like I don't think it is and instead of getting pissed at you for waving a loud jangling thing in its face the snake just slithers away the most well known moon logic puzzle in this game has to be throwing the piece of moldy cheese into more tacks weird doomsday device you use this device to transfer the magic of more DAX wand into an old fizzled out wand you get at the beginning of the game there's no instructions on how to use this machine no levers no buttons just what looks to be a gigantic boiling pot of stew so what do you do to power it why you toss the moldy cheese into the stew and it comes to life alive I have looked into this to see if there is any scientific way this could work maybe the bacteria on the cheese was causing a chemical reaction with whatever's in that pot maybe maybe someone put little bits of copper into the cheese and when it hits the water it causes magic yeah no monkey island 3 is easily my favorite in the series I know the classics are considered to be the first two games as the last two were made by a different team but the curse of Monkey Island really does it for me it's cheeky has brilliant voice acting and the atmosphere keeps me cheerful throughout the entire game admittedly even though this game has some moon logic I didn't think it was that hard I dare say that I found the first two games much more difficult monkey wrench puzzle I'd rather leave than suffer this Monkey Island 3 never leads you into an unwinnable state however did you know there's a hard mode for this game it's right if you play the curse of Monkey Island mega Monkey mode there are more puzzles and they get a little rough you need to find some gold who has gold this guy exhibit a captain blond beard he has a gold tooth and a real problem standing still man hops around like a friggin zebra finch in regular mode you give him a jawbreaker which will loosen his tooth he then very blatantly hints that he wants something fleshy to chew on from now on I'll be sticking too fleshy or foodstuffs something something chewy you give him the gum you acquire earlier and he will blow a little bubble where you can see his tooth inside pop it with a pin pick it up and bam you got it it's silly but I didn't find it hard to figure out however in mega monkey you cannot leave with the tooth in your inventory blondie will notice and ask for it back after you pop the gum bubble and collect the tooth you need to chew on some of the gum yourself which looks like a disgusting wad of mushy tobacco put the tooth in the gum inhale some helium you got from a balloon then put the wad of gum in your mouth lo and behold you create an airborne gum bubble which is holding the gold tooth there it goes right out the window and nobody seems to notice somehow the pierced site of this gum bubble slowly floating out the window just cracks me up it looks so ridiculous then what do you do next well it falls down in the gutter into a mud puddle you use a pan you took from the restaurant to pan for gold and there you have it you got your pirate booty grim fandago is another classic game that currently holds the title of my favorite video game not just favorite adventure game but favorite overall it spans all genres for the most part I found this title pretty fair on the puzzles I know not everyone feels that way but I guess when you're a weirdo like me thinking outside the box is more of a natural occurrence I was also dropped on my head as a baby my favorite ridiculous puzzle Peters on the dark side my favorite side you need to track this flower store owner to his hideout but you're not sure how to find him as he leaves you see him drop a bunch of spray tella which is something that can be put in little dart like bullets and when someone is shot in the bone with them they sprout flowers and die it is indeed called being sprouted to find this guy you first need to rip off the arm of a sprouted soldier which isn't weird or disrespectful at all and take it with you later you find a snow machine at a theater which has a portable grinder attached to it how do you want to use it why you of course put the arm right into the portable device and use it as a cheese grater little bone dust on your salad sir you take your new item where you saw the sprout tella being dropped and grate the bone over those areas the bone reacts with the sprout tella and creates a chain of flowers follow it and you are good to go no well at least the soldiers arm served a good cause viva la revolucion capstone was known for their shitty license games but on top of that list is their abomination of the classic comedy Wayne's World the whole plot of this game sounds like moon logic your goal is to have a pizza thong solve stupid puzzles to get people to help you throw it almost all of these puzzles are just pixel hunting nightmares but there's a few that stand out most notably building a mousetrap out of a miniature castle first you have to use Garth's drum stick to prop up this castle door previously you had given a candy bar to a biker and he gave you his bike chain sounds like we got the better deal but okay attach the bike chain to the window shade and attach the other end to the drum stick bait the trap with a slice of pizza and when the mouse goes into the castle use this tube thingy we found in a science lab as a peashooter to shoot the shade causing the drumstick to fall and the door to close what the fuck instead of yelling at us for poking around their office these ad agency guys are impressed with our skills and decide to sponsor the beads Athan another weird puzzle from the stas gem is you need to free these mice to distract a scientist so you can explore his lab how do you do this you talked to Garth and Wayne will tell him to show the scientist his tongue and no it did not grow and pulsate and give birth to baby tongues you just stand there after you free the mice watching Garth do incredibly weird things with his tongue just like the movie flawless look at those shapes that's impressive stupid but impressive Wayne's world wasn't the only franchise capstone had its hands on they also picked up the dark half which was released around the same time as the movie and adapted by the book written by Stephen King this is one of those games that I feel could have been good but it just looks completely absurd on top of the main character apparently bearing a very strange resemblance to Pro Jared at least according to my commenters he does he is also dense as a fucking pound cake you are essentially being accused of murder so what do you do well tamper with the evidence here's the murderers truck what can I take how about this bloody liquor bottle and these youths cigarette butts my brand no no disregard the fact that this is a battleground of filth and bacteria because you're gonna need to smoke those used cigarette butts later you know the ones hanging out where your feet usually rest in the car yummy I'm not kidding you actually do need these cigarettes because one of the main puzzles in this game is writing to get clues and you can only write if you have cigarettes and paper yes you're an author and yes somehow you don't own any paper let's see where can I find paper oh joy Just My Luck here's a sheet right here in the street I'm sure it's not covered in shit so let's go for it taking the proverbial cake however is the hiding the bottle puzzle this bottle is evidence against you you gotta hide it uh uh where do I hide it where I hide it my closet no one will find it luckily the cops in this game are complete idiots despite them strongly suggesting they could bring you in for questioning they never do and they never find me carefully hidden bottle let's move on to another game I actually like the dagger of Amon raw also known as Laura bo2 now despite this box saying roberta williams is laura bow she did not work on this game bruce Balfour designed this game you would think that without the moon logic Queen herself on the design team that maybe this game would be a little more straightforward but it has its moments I'm not sure where this puzzle Falls moon logic silly maybe neither and just kind of frustrating but I have to mention it because it took me a long time to figure this one out as a kid this guy dies from a fatal porcupine accident while he was dying and I want to emphasize this while he was dying he wrote some initials in blood CP let's see the killer's name perhaps nobody in the game has those initials what the hell does CP mean well I know if I were dying of organ penetration I would totally write the initials of the classic book crime and punishment yes CP stands for crime and punishment we're supposed to search the bookcase for this book which does take some precise pixel hunting and it leads you to this file which tells you the true identity of this victim you would think that in those last few moments of your life with those last breaths with all your energy you would want to expose your killer but whatever if I got stabbed by a million quills I probably wouldn't be thinking too clearly either by the way the porcupines name is spiny norman i figured people might be curious the last puzzle in this list is Discworld just the entirety of Discworld the whole damn game nothing ever makes any sense it might make more sense in the Discworld series created by the late and great Terry Pratchett for geez I could figure out very few of these puzzles one of the most ridiculous puzzles involves going back in time using elf space a dimension created by Pratchett himself to put a frog in past yous mouth so you can catch a butterfly so you can use it on a lamppost which will cause a butterfly effect get it butterfly effect butterfly oh my god I have no idea how but it will rain in the future and you will be able to steal this guy's robe but how are you supposed to know to put the Frog in past yous mouth well because it came out of your mouth here in the future ah I've explained this last one in my Discworld review so part of me if you've already heard it at some point you need to get this fishmongers belt buckle you could ask for it I suppose but where's the challenge in that after a series of ridiculous inventory object puzzles you end up with some love potion custard and this octopus I'm not even going to give you further context there is no amount of contacts that could possibly make this make sense you put the custard and the octopus into an outhouse toilet and this happens the fuck in what situation would I ever think to put an octopus into a toilet let alone a custard filled toilet offer a gaudy belt buckle sheesh this world is a charming game and I'd say it matches its source material better than almost any licensed game I've ever played so it's worth playing but every puzzle is like this but at least there's luggage isn't it cute let's all take a moment
