hi guys it's regan and welcome back to another video today i'm going to be chatting through my most anticipated fall book releases honestly i'm always excited about a new release any time of year but i do feel like the fall winter season tends to always have my favorite lineup it's a combination of it's my favorite time of year in general but also a lot of spooky atmospheric reads tend to also be released during this time which are always my fave but before we dive into the books themselves first a word from this video sponsor which is a glassesusa so as you guys know i have been a long time glasses usa ambassador every single frame i wear from sunglasses to eyeglasses that you ever see me in any video it's from glasses usa i've been shopping on their site for so so long but if you're not familiar glasses usa is an online glasses retailer and they have thousands upon thousands of different frames across eyeglasses to sunglasses their site is truly fantastic not only do they have fantastic and incredibly affordable prices by cutting out the middleman they also send everything directly to your door so it's incredibly convenient as well they also have a super handy online glasses try-on tool so you can see what the frames look like before you actually purchase them which is incredibly handy as well i have picked up two new frames that i wanted to show off before we dive into the haul portion of this video i of course have an offer code for you guys if you click the link down below you'll get an additional discount to shop their site on top of their already very affordable prices without further ado let's go ahead and dive into the glasses haul starting first with the frame i'm actually wearing so this is the hilary duff clear frame in clear beige this is not a new frame i've owned this frame for like eight months now and it has become an all-time fave i just think it's so flattering i love the color this particular frame also comes in so many different colors i just felt like it was the right time to talk about it again because i just truly think it's just one of the most flattering shapes colors out there i'm such a huge fan of it so i wanted to quickly talk about this frame because it's become a cornerstone in my glasses wardrobe next up i have the hilary duff margaret frame and i got these in the pink color and i honestly love this frame i feel like it's a little bit retro which i personally really enjoy the color is super nice these are in the pink shade but again these frames also come in a variety of colors as well so be sure to check those out i think the shade and shape is just flattering for my skin tone and face overall it's just like a classic frame that i feel like will work perfectly with my wardrobe so i'm very excited to add it to my collection and then the last frame i have to show off i'm honestly probably the most excited about and it is the auto atrium as you guys know i would say a wire rimmed glasses is my go to glasses frame it's basically what i wear every single day and i came across these on the site they're honestly an incredibly affordable option that is almost identical to the frame i wear every single day which is also from glasses usa but these are an absolute steal and they're usually always on sale but i love these they're a classic wire rim circle shape but these ones in particular have a tortoise shell rim which i just think are so so cute kind of like academia vibes perfect for the fall winter and again incredibly affordable lightweight and also very high quality i love this style of glasses it's my go-to and i really wanted to share this particular frame because it's also such a fantastic deal alrighty guys those are the three frames i wanted to show off from glasses usa i will of course have a link to their site and offer code as well as a link to all of my individual glasses down below so be sure to check those out honestly there are so many incredible books coming out this fall and winter it was a little tricky to narrow down but nevertheless i persisted so let's go ahead and dive right in i do have one book that's coming out at the end of september that i cannot wait to get my hands on and i know a lot of people are kind of in the same boat and that is cloud cuckoo land by anthony doerr anthony doerr is one of my all-time favorite authors he wrote all the light we cannot see which is an incredibly popular historical fiction novel i've also read some of his short stories and i just really enjoy his writing his characterization i find it really emotional so when i saw that a new book was coming out by him i immediately added it to my list and i also immediately pre-ordered it and reading over the description the structure of the story definitely seems to be in line and anthony dora's style which makes sense it is a dual perspective story following two different characters kind of brought together by fate and conflict you basically read vignettes of their life and also how inevitably they come crashing together one of our main characters is anna who is an orphan she lives within the walls of constantinople and she passes the time basically running around the city and also going to the library reading stories and falling into the tales that surround her she also reads to her ailing sister as the walls surrounding her home are beginning to be bombarded and we also follow o'meer miles away from home him and his beloved oxen have been forced into conscription into this evading army and their paths cross within the story i just feel like this book is likely to be beautiful again i loved all the light we cannot see so i'm very much looking forward to checking out this new release by this author um this is definitely one i hope to read before the end of the year and again i'm sure is on many of your lists as well next up we have is light from uncommon stars honestly i read the first few lines of the description of this book and was immediately sold and cannot wait to pick it up it's said to be good omens meets the long way to a small angry planet it's said to be defiantly joyful it's a story set in california's san gabriel valley with cursed violins and queer alien courtship over fresh made donuts i mean need i see more doesn't that just sound delightful and in the story you follow suzuka satomi she has made a deal with the devil literally and to escape damnation she basically has to capture the soul of seven violin prodigies and she's already delivered six when she stumbles upon a new and final prodigy she has her eyes set on them right away however things begin to get a little bit complicated when her heart begins to get involved with his runaway she also meets a retired starship captain and i think an adventure begins from there this just seems hilarious and charming full of love and second chances i also love that it follows three different kind of distinct individuals from different places in their lives coming together in a very surprising fashion i also love that the concept is that our main character is trying to steal the souls of violin prodigies but overall this just sounds delightful i also feel like it'll be a little bit emotional and i cannot wait to read it and the very last book that's coming out in september that is on my list is summer suns and this sounds like the dark gruesome dark academia book of my dreams it absolutely sounds eerie and tantalizing in this story andrew and eddie did everything together they have been inseparable for most of their lives until eddie left andrew to start his graduate program in vanderbilt and six months later only days before andrew was set to arrive in nashville to join eddie eddie dies of an apparent suicide now andrew is moving into an apartment full of people he doesn't know and is also beginning to be stalked by a ghost muttering for revenge now andrew kind of falls head first into this mystery of trying to solve what happened to his friend and quickly finds himself in the middle of a family history soaked in blood whirling between the backstabbing academic world where eddie spent his days as well as the drugs hot boys and fast cars where eddie spent his nights this just sounds like a dark intriguing thriller based mystery with a bit of a supernatural twist has incredible early reviews and seems like a perfect book for these seasons so i'm hoping this scares me a bit i'm hoping it catches me by surprise but we shall see now moving on to the first october release i'm going to mention i have jade fire gold this is a book i feel like i've been waiting all year for i've mentioned it in multiple anticipated releases videos because it's true i'm very much anticipating this book this is the first book to a new y a fantasy series inspired by chinese mythology and is also said to have an epic slow burn romance and honestly those are the only two things i needed to hear to add this to my list i love mythology-based fantasy stories and i love slow burn romance need i say more and this appears to be a dual perspective story on is no one with no past and no family and elton is a lost heir his future's stolen away as a child and their paths cross their destinies become intertwined and the story begins from there i truly cannot wait for this another book i have pre-ordered i just feel like this is going to hopefully be a new why a fantasy series i can't put down it will be added to my why fantasy series show next is a book i feel like will immediately be added to my october tbr it's also blurred by one of my favorite authors of all time catherine arden it's a fairy tale retelling that's dark i mean again so many of my favorite things and that book is a spindle splintered and this is a dark reimagining of sleeping beauty and overall i would say the synopsis is pretty vague but it follows our main character zinnia and she is about to celebrate her 21st birthday which is supposed to be extra special that is because growing up zinnia was diagnosed with a very rare medical condition where no one has lived past the age of 21. so our best friend is pulling up all the stops intent on making zinnia's last birthday one that is very very special so they basically create the ultimate sleeping beauty experience and i think the story begins from there this just sounds really mysterious again i love fairy tale retellings i've heard really good things about this author's writing as well it's apparently very lyrical and full of metaphor so i'm curious to see what i think about this but i feel like it might be a perfect october fall read so very much looking forward to it next up is kind of a gothic reimagining of a classic tale and that is the death of jane lawrence another dark foreboding fall read that i feel like is going to be perfect this follows our main character jane and she has done the calculations to ensure that she has the most secure life moving forward and that is finding a husband and basically crafting a marriage of convenience so she can continue to do her meaningful work her first choice is the dashing but reclusive surgeon augustine lawrence and he agrees to her proposal with one specific condition that she never visits his crumbling family home on the outskirts of town but due to an accident on their wedding night jane finds herself in the rain trapped with nowhere to go but this family home and there she of course runs into augustine but he seems very different than his normal confident self in fact he seems forgetful and paranoid now she's doubting every decision she made leading up to this marriage this book calls out to me for so many different reasons i love classic gothic tales in general and i love gothic reimaginings of such tales it's going to be eerie and maybe weirdly romantic also set in a dark mirror version of postwar england i'm not even sure what that means but i'm very curious to find out i don't know hoping this is bizarre and strange and just the gothic tale of my dreams the next book i honestly cannot wait to get my hands on is kind of a lighter more fun fall read and that is paybacks a witch and this is said to be the chilling adventures of sabrina meets the l word and a sizzling witch halloween inspired rom-com it just sounds like so much fun and perhaps a bit of a lighter read that still kind of has the ambiance and atmosphere of witchcraft to add to your fall tbr and this follows our main character emmy and she's a witch but not a very powerful one and this is in large part due to the fact that she hasn't been to her hometown thistle in a very long time to kind of brush up on the family magic and just be involved in magical activity she left home many years ago to kind of embark on her own life but to also get away from a bad breakup with a boy who's also a part of one of the most magical families in town at the beginning of the story emmy is returning home for the annual spell casting competition she's doing it to see her family to see her best friend and also partake in an important family duty as it relates to this competition while she's home though she runs into talia who is a very powerful witch in the dark arts and talia and her of a complicated history because she was actually also dating her ex-boyfriend at the same time unbeknownst to both of them so they decide to hatch up a plan to get revenge but then emmy begins to not be able to stop thinking about talia and so begins what appears to be a very charming and cute rom-com story centering magic and witches and family drama in a small town setting i honestly can't wait like what more could you want it's like a lifetime movie but with witches i love it the next book i cannot wait to get my hands on is little thieves by margaret owens margaret owens also wrote another why fantasy series i personally really enjoyed but this next series just sounds like everything i could want and more it is a dark retelling of goofs girl and it just sounds so incredible it follows our main character vanya and she knows nothing comes without a price not even love she is the adoptive goddaughter of death and fortune and up until a year ago vanya was the devoted servant to princess giselle but death and fortune expected a price to be paid so vania decided to take gizelle's life for herself and with an enchanted string of pearls she now lives a lucrative double life pretending to be a princess as well as being a jewel thief while giselle is a penniless nobody however just one heist away from freedom vanya crosses the wrong god and now she is cursed to only live for two more weeks this book just sounds so good i love the setup i love the retelling and the overall setting and vibe i've already really enjoyed margaret owens writing in the past i found it to be really unique and i just feel like this book is going to be an absolute knockout so i have very high expectations but i feel like this might be a new why a fantasy fave the next book i truly cannot wait to get my hands on it sounds like a dark and intense thriller in space which is in general a combination i just cannot say no to and that is far from the light of heaven and in the storm we follow a massive colony ship and it has finally completed its journey bringing thousands of passengers to start a new life and a new system on a new planet and when first mate michelle wakes up she quickly realizes that many of the travelers will never wake up again she quickly discovers that there is a conspiracy on the ship she reaches out to investigator rashid finn to help her figure out who is responsible for the deaths on board and from there it says a sinister mystery unfolds aboard the gigantic vessel one that will have repercussions for the entire system from the scheming politicians of the lagos station to the colony planet blood route to other far-flung systems and indeed to earth itself this book honestly just sounds so intense like an absolute page turner i love the concept i love the idea i already want to know what happened just from the synopsis itself this will be a book i definitely will plan to get to before the end of the year it sounds so incredible moving on now to some november releases the first one is all of us villains and this is said to be kind of a darker bloodier hunger games this book is set in a small town but after a salacious tell-all book that basically uncovered this particular competition that takes place in this town it is thrust into a worldwide spotlight and is quickly flooded with reporters and other people interested to see this competition unfold and essentially what happens is every generation seven families commit one champion to compete to the death to have control over the town's magic supply in the past the villainous lows have basically won every single competition but due to some new circumstances all the other champions now also find themselves with a bit of an edge that could change the course of this competition this year this book just sounds really interesting i like that it's kind of a competition style story one with a really gruesome outcome as it is a fight to the death i also kind of think it's cool that it's based off of like magic supply and control so i feel like there is going to be a fantastical witch wizard component but we shall see the synopsis in general is also pretty vague so i'm curious to see how it'll unfold the perspectives the characters we will follow but overall i feel like it's definitely gripped me and caught my attention so we shall see and then the last two books i'm gonna feature are both continuations in some of my favorite series the first is the bone shard emperor by andrea stewart i read the bone shard daughter last year loved it i thought it was a fantastic debut and first book to a new high fantasy series so i'm very curious to see how the plot continues in the second book especially considering how explosive it was in the first book but this is a multi-perspective high fantasy story following a variety of characters but primarily our main character lin who is the daughter of the emperor and he holds a tight grip over his empire and in general he's very unpopular and lots of uprisings are beginning to occur all throughout the land and he also seems to be retreating deeper and deeper in the dark magic that he uses to control the populace in general at the beginning of the story lin is determined to not only begin to try to understand her father but to also uncover the dark secrets of his bone shard magic so begins a tale of political intrigue as we follow lin as she dives deeper into the mystery of her father but also as we begin to learn more about this magic system is actually pretty complicated but basically bone shards can power different types of puppets which could do different things from like becoming a treasure to also being like a mindless spy it's a really intriguing and fascinating world but again it's also multi-perspective so we do get eyes and different places across this empire i'm really looking forward to the next book within this trilogy so needless to say it is on my radar and then the last book i have to talk about is probably one of my most anticipated uh releases of the year i cannot wait i've also heard so many fantastic things about this concluding novel from people who got the art but i will be impatiently waiting for the final book to be released and that is jade legacy by fonda lee which is the third book within the green bone saga and oh my gosh this is by far and away one of my favorite urban fantasy series out there it's exceptional characters magic combat politics it has it all and i love all of it if you're not familiar the first book jade city brings us to the city of kcon which is a very powerful city both locally and internationally and is actually controlled by two crime families and in large part the city has a lot of power because individuals who live here can harness the power of jade which essentially kind of makes you faster stronger smarter all of those things and in this city the two crime families basically control not only the production but also the distribution of this very powerful resource at the beginning of this book though things begin to get a little complicated as the turf war between these two families begins to heat up but also the international spotlight is also beginning to grow as other players are wanting to get involved both in the production as well as the consumption of jade and within this book you follow a variety of perspectives of individuals a part of one of these crime families and through their points of view you kind of get a viewpoint into different positions different political interests different issues because they're still also related so there's a lot of family drama but there's also a lot of political heat occurring at the same time the first two books were excellent i can't even tell you how much i love them because they were just so good it's hard to articulate so needless to say i'm very much looking forward to the release of the third book i can't wait to read it so obviously i added it to this list alrighty guys those are my most anticipated fall releases again big
