More Bay Area Schools Reopen or Expand In-Person Classes

right thank you now back to that story more bay area school districts returning to in-class learning and in more cases we're talking about all grades being in class for more time not just those younger students today in the base bob riddell live from danville and bob it seems like the next fave is really kicking up for some of those districts correct good morning to you sierra we're outside monte vista high school here in danville this is part of the san ramon unified valley school district which has already had kids on campus as part of a hybrid learning model where they had them split into two cohorts a and b well starting today those cohorts will come together and they'll begin receiving in-person instruction for four days a week the middle and high schoolers start today elementary school students tomorrow again this is here in the san ramon valley unified school district the board of education for this district made this decision last week after the california department of public health changed the social distancing requirement in classrooms from six to three feet and that was based on guidance from the cdc also starting today the nearby mount diablo unified school district will begin back with its third through twelfth grade students for in-person instruction that's if they choose students still have the option in mount diablo to learn from home 100 of the time this is what classrooms down in the south bay this is santa clara unified this is what they'll look like when that district welcomes some of its students back today you can see the tables and desks are spaced out several feet and set up for just one person there's also a plexiglass up around the desk this week students in grades pre-k through second will head back to campus also students in grades six and nine the remaining grades will return next week reporting live here in danville boberville today in the bay
