More Addicting Than I Thought...MY OWN ART on a Diamond Painting!

hey guys so in today's video I'm doing a diamond painting of my own art technically I started this months ago I started this diamond painting here this is from one of those sites where you can just upload any art you want and they'll turn it into a diamond painting kit for you which oddly enough is not the website written at the top I don't I don't understand I'm also convinced they were trying to steal my art because after they had already shipped out the kit they asked me to send them the photo file again and I was like now so do not recommend but yeah I started this forever ago and I got pretty far but then I was contacted by Dimond Art Club to see if I wanted to sell my art on their website so I stopped working on this one because I wanted to wait for one of my official kits to arrive so yeah I made a decent dent in this but that took me a long time just to get as far as I did on this that's why I didn't really want to think any more time into it until my other kids arrived so now with Diamond Art Club I have four different designs there's bakery at peace petal dance and veera I have one of each year and two of these are with round diamonds and two with square diamonds for this video though I'm gonna try out at piece which is with square diamonds it's 18 by 24 inches these are available for purchase on Diamond Art Club they're a very reputable diamond painting website so I'm very honored that I have this opportunity so yeah let's let's open up one of these I haven't opened them yet I've been waiting to start filming while waiting like a day so let me open this up take everything out I think that so wait wait wait now there's more okay that's all of it so here's our legend it shows the artwork and then shows the different codes for the colors then we have all the diamonds here diamond / gems / drills / whatever you call them there are many names look at how a teeny these are if you don't know what a diamond painting is you basically stick a bunch of little little plastic gems onto a sticky canvas it's like paint by numbers and in here we have a little tool you use to stick on the Diamonds it even comes with a little grippy we've got some tweezers here some little bags in case you want to put your diamonds in there there's even this little attachment that lets you pick up multiples I think it just sticks on this side yeah so if you have a whole row of the same color if you just Boop then we've - the little wax pads these are what make the gem stick to the pen so you poke the pen into the wax and then you pick up your gems like this and this is the tray you put them in let me have the canvas is in here oh so nice it's so much nicer than that one I got custom-made myself some step-by-step instructions and here we go this is what this looks like oh my god oh my heart like skipped a beat when I unrolled that oh my god do what makes you sparkle diamond dart club we've got the legend over here on the side again they just they go all out with these there's a little scalloped edge here with the little dots it looks so cute and it's got a pearl finish to it like that's just beautiful that's beautiful we've got another color list here some social media info the info on the piece maybe AJ brazeau e so yeah you look back little pieces of the plastic at a time and it's sticky so you can stick your gems on there I need to prep all my my gems though I'll show you what I did with the last one I was working on so this is my diamond painting bucks so it's a Ferrero Rocher box and then I have these little containers I got off Amazon originally I was using these for chalk pastels because I was shaving the pastels into powder and storing them in here but I never really ended up using them so now I use it for my diamonds how come this one's not labeled I put little stickers on them that have the symbol and the numbering system on them except I don't have enough left over now for this new one this was my legend maybe that was the website I got it from I swear it was not diamond painting calm it was something weird and then these are all the gems so that's my stash I hate a new diamond painting box Michaels trap I'm gonna open this up the colors nice and aught to me okay so step one get containers I need to count how many I'm gonna need one two wait they're numbered there's 40 40 colors so there's not a whole lot here this container is cute but you can't take the Cubbies out then there are these cubbies but they're too big that's the same thing so then we have bees which are not really what I was expecting and they won't be able to hold all the diamonds for some of them but is it really cute I'm gonna put them in a little box then give me my little pinching models oh okay it's the next day I have my containers from the dollar store this box from the dollar store which also has a lid and I'm gonna label the containers so I noticed that this is adhesive this is sticker paper right here and I could just cut these out and stick them on the lids but as a love this little paper and don't really want to cut it up so I scanned it and print it off the legend onto sticker paper this will be the test okay label number one Ted oh now I need to find that one here oh this one here just scoop that one open okay whoops I'll have to be a little more careful okay there's the first one one two nine okay so now I'm just gonna make my way down the list and do the rest okay they are all bottled up you didn't some of them are quite full like this one some of them are almost empty like this one and I have three colors that had two pouches and so they don't all fit in one container and I'm just gonna wait until there's a room to put them in there before I add them so these three will just stay in my box for now oh yeah these are all ready to go these are ready to go so I'm gonna put them in the box and get started on the diamond painting these dark tees here are pretty noticeable so I might do those first I'm gonna dump some of these into my tray just like this and there were grooves in here I'm just gonna shake this a bit so it flips the gems right-side up at least most of them will be right side up so I'm gonna stab this into the wax there we go load it up so there's wax in the tip of this little pen thing I probably have too much actually sticking out a bit so then I will grab the gem and it sticks like that I want to peel this back - you only want to peel back a little bit at a time because you don't it to get covered in hair and stuff like that Boop I've never used a multi-tool to pick up several mmm go right there hmm I'm gonna try it I'm gonna try it oh no no no they're all flipping over okay I have some got a nerve-wracking applying that many at once you can also use a light box to make it easier to see where you place gems and where you haven't it it helps a lot although for filming it doesn't look as nice so I'll probably feel a lot of clips without it but I will be using it later so obviously peeling this back works nicely for a small corner but as you keep peeling you're gonna end up revealing a huge chunk of the painting so I end up just cutting off some of the protective film this first section I was working on is pretty small it's actually much better to work in larger sections because you can work faster you're not switching back and forth between colors is often plus you can use the multi placer tool and just go to town because the bigger section there is the more of those multi areas you have to fill in so yeah this took me freaking forever if you've done a diamond painting you know how time-consuming they are I was doing this all day every day and it took me a week and a half although the first few days I was doing some other stuff in between like I was decluttering my art room because I'm I'm gonna do another room tour soon and I thought that would go up before the diamond painting video but there was just no I realized how little time I truly had and so I mapped it out and I was like nope who dropped that video it just works solely on the diamond painting video because it was gonna take a very long time so I put in very long days - it was it was a lot but I got faster and faster as I went along and as I started working on bigger sections and got more used to the multi-tool here I'm placing number ones these are special gems that have a special extra shiny coating on them they're the a/b drills and that stands for aurora borealis so they're extra shiny but the coating man it really to the wax on your pen and so I couldn't use the multiplayer tool with the ones because it would rip out all of the wax even using this single side it was very tricky I have to place the gem down and then try to sweep the pen sideways and hope that it doesn't rip all the wax out of it so they're pretty they're just very hard to place I feel like it works best if you have a very minimal amount of wax left on your pen it makes them a little harder to grab but makes it easier to place down in total this diamond painting has 40 3200 diamonds that's so much that's that's a ridiculous amount and I decided to save the face for last because I thought that would be a nice little finale now in terms of prices for these things you guys have been asking me on Twitter on my twitch dreams all that kind of stuff and I haven't really had an answer for you but I got some some final numbers so bakery is $40 at pieces 50 veera and petal dance are 55 and I highly recommend you use coupons I noticed that when I went to the diamond art club website it asked if I wanted to sign up for their newsletter and get 10% off so there's that option I also see them offering coupon codes up on their Facebook page all the time so check their social media get those discount codes they're not cheap but these ones really are high-quality and you'll get so much use out of them just so many hours of entertainment now the problem with me saving the face for last is that a couple of my colors were reversed and I didn't realize till I was on the face and I'm like why is this shading so dark and then as I'm doing the bottom lip I'm like why is the bottom lip lighter than the skin and that's when it clicked that my A's and h's were swapped and I freaked out because this was the last night that I was working on this because I really wanted this video out by today cuz the diamond paintings launched today so I was freaking out it was already past midnight and oh thankfully I didn't screw up the entire painting like they weren't reversed for the whole thing I lifted a bunch of gems to investigate and it was just about the it was the bottom quarter of the painting that had the mistake and the face so I peeled all those up and fixed him I also realized there was a problem because I ran out of a's and i was like that's really weird how come there's not enough and is because i swapped the colors by accident i must have got my lids mixed up so maybe they need a second label on the side of the jar to I don't even know how that happened cuz it's not like I take two lids off at the same time although I must have it I don't even know I don't even know the but you know what it all worked out I got it done I was just up a little bit later and OH putting in the last few gems so satisfying it's done so satisfying it's a large boy I'm surprised at how well the gems stay on I think it's really good adhesive on here I'm not afraid of ruining it when I do this I'm gonna frame this bad boy right away but first I'm gonna show you guys the other canvases and just what they look like and how big they are so this was the 18 by 24 4 at piece where do I put this and that had 40 colors is this this is petal dance essence also pretty big this is 22 by 28 inches this is circular drills though drill slash gem slash diamonds they use a different term every freaking time but yeah those are square these are circular and this one has 20 colors this one might actually be pretty fast because they are circular they're a little more spaced out and there's there's decent chunks of solid color in here but not enough that you would get super bored but if you're looking to get one done a little quicker it definitely helps to have batches of solid color because then you could use the multi placer and go ham then here we have Lyra okay so I do all of these so Vera is Vera is 20 by 28 inches and there are 35 colors in this one again the background has a touch of solidness to it but it does have some variation as well the background wouldn't take too too long to do then we have bakery which is a smaller one this is 20 by 16 inches and this one has 39 colors so it's actually the most colors out of all of them but it is the smallest one what I forgot to say Vera was also circular drills and this one's square huh that's what it looks like and now let's put at peace in a frame I got this frame from Michaels it's exactly 18 by 24 you can get a larger frame that's matted down to that size but the only one I could find was a black frame so I just went with this this also takes up less wall space this way I guess [Music] [Music] okay I've got her in the frame I did not seal it in anyway there's various sealants you can use you can look up YouTube videos to see what they look like I opted to not seal mine but I'm kind of regretting it now because the plastic on the front of this frame is a little flimsy er than I thought it would be and so I'm not hopefully it holds up I feel like if you had it squished nice and flat against some glass it would be better so this might not be the best frame but that's what it looks like in the frame I'm in denial that I've done it as for my other diamond paintings I'll probably just slowly chip away at them over the next couple years I would obviously have no idea how long it's gonna take me to get through those cuz I'm just gonna work on them casually this one I really blitzed it this was like an all-day everyday kind of project but yeah for the other ones I'm just gonna take it easy I just don't know which one I want to do next I'm kind of leaning towards Vera Vera or petal Lance maybe hmm who knows who knows anyway thank you guys for joining me on my diamond painting journey I'll have some links down below
