MONSTER SNOOK Fishing from my Paddleboard! (Biggest Snook of My Life)

all righty guys good morning and welcome back to another video so currently we are on the paddle board if you guys don't know anything about this boat uh i talked about it probably three four videos back you guys can check out that video learn a little bit more about it but basically this is a boat rackham and that's what we're gonna be fishing on today so it is real early right now tarpon are rolling all around me sun's coming up and uh we're gonna try to catch some fish right now i'm looking for tarpon later i think i'm gonna go check a spillway it's been raining quite a bit so i'm assuming there should be snook and tarpon maybe even yeah i know i think that's it snook and tarpon maybe even a bass around the spillways we're gonna go check it out on the paddle board today and uh let's uh get on to it before these tarpon stop rolling maybe i could get one to eat [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh oh my gosh this is one of the biggest i've ever heard this is no doubt the biggest snook of my life well i know a lot of you guys have been asking uh in the comments what hook i use with this i am using right now a 5-0 twist lock hook but i would recommend the uh i think the gamakatsu or for specifics the gamakatsu 5.0 twist lock now you can fish it with a weight or without a weight i kind of like it with a weight because a lot of times i'm throwing mangroves and stuff and i want it to kind of sink the second it hits the water so i don't get hung up on mangroves and stuff like that uh but you can fish it either way no no weight i think this the way to happen that happens to be on the hook right now is uh an eighth of an ounce and uh yeah it works very similar with or without the weight just maybe a little bit lower in the water column when you have the weight on it right now i'm looking for a tarpon right now the tarpon have behaved exactly like tarpon do pretend like they don't even see the bait that is a big shark i wonder how big that is it's probably four and a half foot i don't think it's a bull shark though i don't really know what kind of uh maybe that's a bull shark i'm not 100 sure i thought it was a big jack coming down the line but definitely not a jack all right guys well we've made it back to our spillway we're going to fish right now i'm kind of just eyeballing around i think there will probably be some snook in here i'm not sure how i'm going to catch them they could be laid up they could be you know sitting subsurface i might need to switch to a different bait but i got the little mullet on and then i got on an artificial shrimp in case i see anything else that uh isn't interested in a little mo like a maybe a redfish or maybe a lot of different things but hopefully we find something here [Music] that's a huge snook that's a 40 no doubt oh man i could barely see him man he's sitting a foot or two under the surface that's a no doubt 40. oh my god that is giant snook up so fast that's a 30 pounder [Music] it's a no doubt 30 pound fish look how fast he gave up [Music] no problem other than he came unglued gotta laugh that one off shaking a little bit there that was no doubt 40 plus inch snook just came unglued maybe should i set the hook harder i couldn't tell you i'm not really afraid i guess i'll do a re-tie right there but no worries hurts a little bit but [Music] yeah it hurts a little bit just re-tie here at least i didn't break off on him that would have made me feel worse i could tell that fish just came and sat under the boat there and opened his mouth and put the uh hook at a weird angle not really much i can do here when i don't have a trolling motor so i kind of just got to go with the fish if he comes under the boat i just got to work with him quick retie we're using 40 pound fluorocarbon here so i'd say it's a little a little on the lighter side for snook that big but we're throwing artificial we got to get them to eat [Music] another one [Music] that's a big snook number two come here bud oh he's not as big as the last one he's big stop them here [Applause] yep going to open water fish took me right into the trees i put this rod back in the rod holder still a big snook [Applause] not anywhere close to the last the size last one but they're chewing right now man they're chewing this line is stuck under this fish's gill plate which i do not like at all i'll loosen up just a tad bit here big snook is probably 35 inch fish this one's 35 but the last one was i'll take this all day but i won't forget about that last one that came off at the boat let me see if i can grab her here that line is pretty dang afraid got her dude that's even bigger than 35 no doubt all right i want to do here since this fish isn't any true mega i mean it's a giant snook but i think i'm just going to keep her in the water keep her in the water here it'll be good for this fish's health this is probably a 36 inch snook right there probably textbook 36. go ahead and unhook this fish pop it right pop it right out just like that and this is exactly what we were trying to do today 36 inch snook on the little mullet i'll take it just like what i said a spillway is moving there's there's definitely some fish in it i'll go ahead and spin around here and shoot her off [Applause] simple as that yes all right let's go 36 from the paddle board is not any bit easier than from the uh than from the guinea not even it's not easier at all it's harder all right we'll investigate that leader there still not really too bad you see this little mall it's all crunched up here with a foot of leader and uh we'll look for another one but that's one fish on the day i mean oh i just can't stop thinking about that that mega keep it going let me retie pretty large snook right here oh pull down his mouth pull out his mouth hold that smile okay oh my gosh they really like it when you reel it across the water like pretty quickly seems to trigger them a bit more than when it's a bit slower i think maybe they just get a really good look at it when you slow it down but i'm having success like reeling it right past him very quickly got a giant here didn't commit another one right behind him oh man oh dope oh [Laughter] oh he wasn't that big it was probably just a 32-inch fish but ah there's a bigger one behind him that i wanted to get but the bigger one didn't see the dang bait oh the big one didn't see the bait and the little one went out and grabbed it which was he was probably 32 34 somewhere in that range i think i probably had a decent hook set on him until he probably took that jump shook his head came down with it and he came unglued we're gonna switch to a different color this is the black uh i can't remember the exact name of this color but it is a darker color thrown around at quite a few snook i've had some misses i've you know landed one i had that heartbreaker but i'm gonna go ahead and switch to a different color now and see if i can get a few more bites before i head out of here oh just uh yeah just spotted two nice snook up in the shallows right here see how they like the darker little mullet got him the little one of the two there was two there one was probably 32 34 and then this guy which is 22. oh he's he's bigger than 22. yeah he's definitely bigger than 22. that was perfect come here homie that was a perfect hook set right in the top of the lip got him oh wow that is a super heavy snook for the size that has a huge belly for i mean it's a little bit bigger probably 25 inch snug 26 inch snook that belly is enormous perfect second fish of the day still looking for our true giant this guy's only 25 or 26 but back in the water for this guy now biting on my finger all right back in the water this guy smells exactly like a bass exactly i'm sure he's been sitting in the spillway water a lot of fresh water he look at that belly he must have just ate like a mullet or something but this is i mean exactly if you've ever caught a bass before you know what they smell like and he smells exactly like that perfect perfect number two number two [Music] [Music] oh my god it's a huge nook oh oh my gosh this is one of the biggest i've ever hugged [Music] right as i was about to say it's time to go home oh one of the biggest smoke in my life wow stay with me girl for sure one of the biggest snook my life problem with the paddle board is i just go where the fish wants to go oh okay that is a giant snook stay with me girl if she can pull me over to a sandy shoreline that would be ideal that is a freaking giant usually giant snook i don't fight like too crazy they're pretty quick holy sh i just need her to pull me over to the sand where i can land her a little bit better loosen up just a tiny bit come here girl that has got to be one of the biggest snook i've ever seen in my life [Applause] i use the paddle here to get myself over to this sandy shoreline by far the one of the biggest snook i've ever seen no doubt come here girl that is no doubt the biggest snook of my life no doubt [Applause] all right that is probably a 45 inch snuck so i'm gonna do right here is i'm gonna support this fish in the water i'm gonna pull out my camera set it up right here on the deck we'll get a view of her and uh we'll release her this is no doubt a 30 pound snook all right so i've been holding this fish here in the water for about 30 seconds when i set up my camera and this is no doubt the biggest snook of my life no doubt the biggest snook of my life all right so little mullet no doubt the biggest snook in my life a little mullet right in the top of the mouth there i'm pretty lucky that that fish did not fray out right there absolute giant now i want to make it clear that when you catch fish you know snook especially this size you want to keep them in the water the hard majority of the time maybe 90 of the time that you're handling the fish keep them in the water that other 10 you know support them properly and get your picture whatever it might be but i really i don't have a measuring tape but if i had to guess this fish is probably 45 inches and if you don't believe me then so be it [Applause] she's ready there she goes what a freaking giant well i'm a mess right now but without a doubt i i mean i wish i had a ruler but to be safe you know keep the fish in the water as long as you possibly can when you're handling you know get your one picture and put the fish back in the water let her go but to be honest i think that fish was probably 45 inches and 30 pounds i've never caught a snook that big nor have i ever seen a snook that big in my whole life with my own eyes but don't have a ruler it's just that that is by far the biggest snook i have ever caught that scared the crap out of me a stick just stuck in just poked my butt and i thought it was an alligator that is by far the biggest snook i've ever caught in my entire life we're gonna go ahead and head home here and that is absolutely an insane day biggest snoke in my life what do we get at 36 i lost a true giant at my feet and couldn't ask for a better day on the paddle board so if you guys want to try
