speak to an audience's I first start by taking a picture with my audience do you guys mind all right everybody smile please weight-wise are always the grumpiest people on the front row thank you now before we start I would like to ask our international drug services David tell me would you please stand up please ladies gentlemen give a big round of applause he's a wonderful magazine and for that reason I'd like to ask him one thing please get out but stay outside because we're gonna invite you back in thank you David no I just leave yeah please okay thank you now ladies and gentlemen there's something wrong in this photo can you tell me what it is say it again so he's stealing the Legos from the kid nice observation anything else what what is wrong with this photo anybody what is it yeah this charge is blank what's wrong with this old man just snug you know just stealing the yes but it was already anything else what is it exactly the person out there so now the grand part is forced to everybody now again as I said everybody stay quiet David what do you see here how does the picture make you feel happy why yes and the child seems intent on and his eyes these Glee or something he's interested so I mean you see anything wrong with that grandfather playing with this grandchild no not at all how come we saw it and when I said something wrong with the photo you were able to find something even though honestly there's nothing wrong but because I told you there's something wrong with it you mind automatically assumed there's something wrong and you mind already start thinking what's wrong with the photo there's nothing wrong with it but when you look at it from an open perspective there's absolutely nothing wrong with it what did I say oh you have no idea my opponent here is the way we look at life this depends on what we want out of it if you want to look at it with a negative view you will always find something wrong even with the people around you you will always find something wrong because nobody's perfect but when you just zoom out and you look at it from the outside you will see something different and that's at the end defines who you are now the road to happiness is a bit complicated it's not easy it's not easy to be happy takes time and effort however it's very easy for you to be sad to be miserable right it's very easy to put yourself in a crappy mood now I could talk to you about the road to happiness and what you can do to find the new self who was really happy but you know me I'm a lazy person so today I'll be talking to you about ten steps on how to become unhappy step number one stay indoor as much as possible what happened when you explore yourself to sunlight what is it vitamin D and what does vitamin D to do yes it actually increases your serotonin therefore you become happy so in order to become unhappy which one I'm aiming to teach you stay in bed as much as you can the key to be unhappy is to remain and as much of a closed premises as possible work eat sleep in the same area why do you need to leave your bed just get your laptop and just do you work why you sitting there why do you two even go to the kitchen eat just eat who you are minimize movements as much as possible and what that and what and and like what do you think that will do to you it will make you sick because you're losing vitamin D and what happens when you're sick you mean and you bet see now the now the circle is turning around now by show of hands how many of you do that how many of you work can eat and sleep in the same space you see we've been doing it all along I guess what now we can see step to deregulate to sleep as much as you can you see a regular sleep cycles can I go like this you go to bed I don't know around 9 or 10 or 18 and therefore you sleep is in within the same time and what happened when you sleep is regular your brain functions well why here's something that happens to your body every single night you see wouldn't I mean like before you go to sleep you spend about 30 to 60 minutes trying to fall asleep you know that you know that's sleepy feeling but you're still awake but you're about to fall asleep and then you have about 6 2 hour and then 6 to 8 hours of sleep at night and that's the deep sleep that you experience every night then something happens here between the sleepy states and the deep sleep state and what happened is what is it REM sleep now something happened during the REM sleep which is the following there's a meeting that takes place in your body that's actually still by the way there's a meeting that takes place anybody the boss is your brain and attended by every organ anybody and what happened during this time is every organ starts to tell the brain something so your stomach tells hey good like this guy he eats too much you have to know something about and the kidney says hey he drinks a lot of beer I just cannot process this anymore so every organ complaints to the brain then what happens your brain subconsciously programs you for the next day to do less what's affecting your organs so if you're eating a lot of fast food or fat or whatever the next day maybe you don't feel like eating it maybe today I'll eat a salad how does this happen because your organs tell your brain what's wrong with your body and your brain automatically programs itself then the next morning or the next day and maybe I should walk a little bit more maybe I should eat less fat and so on guess what do you know why they tell you not to eat anything before you sleep because if your stomach is busy he's not attending he's me and if he's not attending this meeting he's not telling the brain anything and thus the cycle continues now we're not aiming to be happy here we want to be a happy so what do we do let's break the cycle every night sleep one hour later the next morning will be groggy so you sleep so you take a nap for an hour and then that screws you sleep even more and the more you screw up you sleep what's gonna happen that meeting is not gonna take place anymore and all sudden you're gaining weight and all sudden you're living an unhealthy lifestyle and thus you slip into and happiness again how many of you do that hey we've been doing it all along but now step number three increase your screen time you know even with all the stuff that we be doing so far your brain will always try to pull itself away from being unhappy it will try to do something meaningful with your life and we don't want our brain to do that we're gonna check it because you want to remain unhappy how do you do that your phone spend as much time on your phones as possible do you know why there hasn't been any great inventions in the last ten to fifteen years you know why you're going to the dentist office your waiting your turn you're in the waiting area what do you do breathe nobody you waiting you bored what do you do yeah so so what do you do you read oh please give a bit more gloss cuz cuz that's something that I would never do and then what do you do when you're bored you take your phone you check your Facebook or Instagram will you play again great inventions happens when you let your mind free and give it a time to breathe and think the problem is we don't give our brain that time anymore as soon as you board you're always occupying your brain with whatever is on your phone and it helps with the deregulating sleep thing that you talked about earlier and these are your best friends YouTube and Netflix are your best friends to increase the screen time your on Netflix see watching your favorite show and it's at the end of the episode and they do this trick that would you like to see the next I'm you thinking there's no more and you click it half an hour later the episode is over would you like we'd like to see the next one and so on and so forth how many of you do that see you've been doing all along but now you can see it number four feed your negative emotions the worst emotions that you can go through to become unhappy is anger and sense however these are the easiest emotions that you complete let's take end of example how many of you like to play soccer flick football all right so you like right now you have the options you can get rests and go out Akali friends and go play and you and thus you expose yourself to the sunlight and you haven't funny difference or you can stay home and watch again so you're watching your favorite team it's playing and it's really exciting come on let's do this and then he misses what happened and you get pissed and you get angry over something that you have no control over you have no control over however you pissed yourself and most likely you yelled at someone who means a lot to you so you lost someone who is dear to you over a game that you have no control over you let anger ticks over you sadness is also easy to feel and the best way to fuel sadness is death do you know that you're gonna die everybody you love is gonna die everybody in this room is gonna die the people who are dear to your heart you will lose one day they all will be gone there will be a time when you are cold in your bed crying over the loved one just because you lost it how do you feel right now you're like oh my god I hate life already see death is gonna happen anyways but the more you think about it you occupied was you occupying your mind is something that you absolutely have no control over so what if you're gonna die one day so occupy yourself with negative emotions and these are your best friends in this case go on Twitter look for you for the one thing that you care about the most and see the negative comments and start a Twitter war or something that you have no control over just to feed your anger emotions how many of us do that already yes we do we've been doing it all along set up witted goals now what does that mean have you ever heard of SMART goals what the SMART goals means specific measurable attainable relevant and time-bound we want to do that we want to be unhappy here so set baked and identified impossible trivial delayed goals and that's the best chance to become unhappy set a big goal one time I was speaking in a conference for a fresh graduate engineers and I asked the person I said what do you want to be in five years and he goes I would like to be a successful engineer alright how about you man whatever you sir what does successful engineering means what does it mean how do you know that you became what that is there is no major is to way and identify make it impossible as much as possible why because when you making an impossible goal you set yourself to failure and when you fail you definitely become unhappy so a trivial goal and set a delayed goal one day I'll be such one day and that one day can become 10 or 20 years from now how many of you do that already see we've been doing all along but now you can see by these you know you might always have goals and dreams in life achieve something high to become something successful to build the new you but if your mind is already occupied with debts and loans and so on your mind doesn't even have time to think of these goals so in order for you to be unhappy go shopping ladies are you having max out that credit card because when you do and you have so much debt over you over your shoulders you cannot break free you might have a job that you hate and you want to quit but now you connect quit anymore because who's gonna pay for that long so you're stuck in that terrible job that you hate just because it pays the bill you want to take that leap of faith but now you can't you shackled by all that loans and debts and just do it later and later became 5 in 10 and 20 years from now and all sudden you already retired and you still have the long and you haven't achieved that one goal that you always wanted to be how many of you do that already oh yes we all do but now now with all of what you have to be talking about your brain will always try to break free will always try to guide your ship toward achieving something meaningful and become happy in your life so to trick it go to the direct approach of happiness wake up one day I said today I'm gonna be happy I'm gonna do something that would make me happy I'm gonna go and have a glass of wine I'm gonna get drunk today why because of a drunk I'm happy so you are taking a direct approach and happiness but it's just a temporary happiness have you been in a party and you got so drunk and how do you feel that they after what the hell did I do last night why because you're taking a direct approach at happiness you're taking your ship for the temporary happiness without thinking about what do you have to do for yourself how many of you here go fishing what do you do when you fish how do you do it what is it so you put a warm in the water and you cast in the water right really know you're standing you try to picture the end that's how you fish is it no that's not but that's what people do direct approach to happiness you stand in the middle of the water and you wait for precious to come to you and you try to grab it can you grab it of course not you're throwing once twice that you cannot grab the vision all sudden all the fish start leaving you what is wrong with this this guy just trying to that was all why because it took a direct approach added without thinking what I could improve in myself so in order for you to fish what do you do throw in the world and you wait patiently and the fish eventually will come to you but why would the fish come to you because you walked in here so first you improve your techniques you using the right bait for the right fish it takes time and learning just to perfect that but eventually the fish will come to you how many of you do that already great be around real people now what do we mean by real people they always say I got you by the people that you hang out with tell me who you hang out where they can tell you who you are there are three types of people in life there's always the best mystic people now you can do it just way out of your league hey crazy this cannot be done this is impossible and so on and this eat and these people are easy to avoid you can tell negative people and we all have and they get a people in our lives and we know how to avoid these negative people there's the optimistic people yes whatever you put your mind into you can do it the sky's the limit in fact there is no limit and this could be your best friend however there's a third type of people what do you want to be in five years Wow what do you want to be in part yes yes you yes you go what do you want to be in part years okay that's taking a long time Oh your own business oh that's a fantastic idea opening your own business you know what I think you can do it however there's a lot of process that goes into that yeah I think you should take a loan and you need to think of how much of a loan that you should take and then you need to ask I think I think you should take a course and how to run your own business and I think you're gonna need a mentor that will take you through this and I don't know about the economy now it might be unstable so you have to be careful where and when you open your own business and you also have to worry about what kind of business it is you see what I'm doing now I'm giving her advices but I'm giving you so many advices all at once that she stopped think ooh I have to do all of that well maybe it's not a good idea at all see we need real people but when I throw a lot of advices at you you don't see the possibility anymore and always he is the obstacles that you have to go through and for our people it's easy for you to quit when you see there are so many steps ahead of you do we have these people in our lives and now you can see it number nine compare what is success to you what is it having a smiling face all right well we all do what makes you different than everybody else see that's a buzzer look alive you know and I love that about you the problem is sometimes in life we compare ourselves or our own successes to others how many of you here is a DTM for the first time or just God the DTM blog this year so so you got a lot this year please stand up the other gentleman please get at the ground floor became a victim you know what it's a great achievement I answer say from the heart I'm not a DTM yet so in fact I look at you with an admiration that you were able to do something that I could never do I'm really proud of you please stay standing are you a DTM team woody please stand up so how long have you been at the team two years but you are the district doctor are you additional you've never been huh but you never been this is oh I see David are you editing as well and you are what the internship director Wow now how does the accomplish in now sound [Music] even though I told you I'm proud of you you've done something that I I've been a touch master for 10 years and I could never done what you are what you just did but when you start comparing your accomplishments with other people you start under estimating what you have done even but ah but I couldn't do what you have done but the problem is we compare our accomplishments with others it's not clear that we are on a competition with the entire world guess what no matter what you do there is someone out there who's better than you are you in competition with that person by the way I tell him that mistake - as soon as I won the world championship I started googling other champions that's the see so I go when I said okay it takes you want the championship after joining Toastmaster only six months it took me six years I see Ryan Avery want the championship when he was 24 years old I was 35 I see and now one in the championship doesn't mean anything to me anymore he becomes you congratulations yeah yeah why because I compared my compliment to other people no two people are the same and you should be very proud we all how many of you already do that we all do and now you see final step focus only on you for those of you who go to the pier sometimes and you see people who fish crabs when they fish crabs they put them in a bucket the bucket is not even covered and the crabs to life but they're even bothered to cover the bucket because they know the crab does never is never gonna escape how did they know that because crabs are selfish what happened is this every time a crab tried to climb up and escape the bucket I never crab says you know what I can probably climb over him and go so what happened is every crab pulls the other one down and nobody end up climbing out of the bucket you know you could succeed in life by sabotaging everybody else's in your job you can sabotage that person that you're competing with and you can get that promotion and ruin her or his life and you can go ahead in life and you can get promoted you can get higher and higher but guess what you will get to that point where you celebrate your success which you want to achieve but you'll be celebrating it all that you already lost everybody that means so much to you do we do that and now we see ladies and gentlemen finding the new you is a long and hectic process it's a very long and hectic process now you can take my easy steps and become unhappy oh you can take the hard road which I really wish that you do by putting yourself out there exposing yourself to sunlight move as much as possible don't compare yourself to others oh do everything that I told you not to do here do you want to be unhappy or do you want to find that you knew if you chose us to be unhappy I already showed you the steps but it's all up to you it's all up there and now you can see thank you so much [Applause] [Music]
