Moana 2: Everything You Missed In The Teaser!

Moana is returning to go on a brand new adventure and with the release of the sequels teaser trailer that means it's finally time to begin to wonder what might happen next what has happened to moana's people where will Moana and Maui go next and who will they meet along the way after 8 years of research and passion for Moana story I'm going to attempt to answer all these questions and more as we break down everything in Moana 2's teaser trailer now the teaser begins with a hermit crab approaching a con shell that reminds me of the one that Moana had throughout the original story it originally lured Moana towards the sea when she was a toddler and later on a Kell was put at the top of the stack of Chief rocks at the top of montenui that was how Moana showed that she had not only accepted that she would be Chief and the leader of her people but that she was also committed to exploring and loving the ocean but now she's not just a pre appreciating the K shell she's using it presumably to call to her people in this moment we also saw that Moana gave a little shell to the hermit crab as an alternative to the massive K shell and this is something that we've seen in Moana before when she was a little girl she protected the little sea turtle when it was trying to get to the Sea she looked out for heyi no matter how crazy and weird he got on their original journey ined in deleted scene we even saw that Moana took care of pool when he was just a little runt struggling to survive Moana takes care of the creatures of the world because she genuinely cares for others and then we see that Moana is sailing back towards montenui now at first I wasn't sure what island she was approaching but when I looked back at the original movie I can see that the mountains and the Peaks perfectly line up which kind of surprises me a little bit I thought that Mt knew he was going to be left behind at the end of Moana it seemed like all of the people of montenui had gotten onto ships and were going to start exploring the world and while that remains to be true their people are exploring more montenui is still the home base for moana's people so it seems that this is a place that they continue to return to regardless of what they find out in the world now while I think it makes sense to have a home base especially when there's elderly people and young children that presumably would struggle to sail at all times this isn't exactly what I was expecting having W to place a shell on top of the layers of rocks that were stacked by former chiefs made me believe that Moana would be the last chief that grew up on Mont toui putting something fragile like a shell on top of the structure led me to believe that there was no longer going to be a way for new Chiefs to build upon the island so I'm really curious to see is montenui just a temporary place to have moana's people thrive or is there going to be a new place that they'll be able to call home in this teaser we also got to see moana's mother and father again and what's really interesting is that they're holding a little child and at first I thought that this was probably moana's child did she have a baby does she have a partner is she going to leave them behind when she goes on this next adventure I mean both of LA's parents are now graying and they look much older so maybe they're now grandparents but all those thoughts were kind of thrown out once I saw the official description for the movie stating that only 3 years have passed since the original film you see throughout moana's original Venture she was only 16 years old so to have a child that looks to be the age of a toddler after only 3 years that would mean that she would have had to have the child very quickly and so that doesn't really make sense what's more likely is that this is actually moana's younger sibling I think this is moana's Sister but Moana isn't just going off and exploring the world she's also being a leader for her people and we get to see that in this teaser when Moana is at the center of the community or grand fall this is the large structure at the heart of the village where everyone can come together and to speak their mind maybe in this moment she's teaching her people about what she's learned and what she's discovered or maybe she's becoming responsible for telling the stories of her ancestors to her people in a similar way to what her grandmother would do I mean we saw in the original movie that Grandma tala visited Moana so maybe that's something that continues to take place so maybe she's continuing to receive new stories from the ancestors that she's visiting while she's out exploring the ocean but what's shocking is that a lightning bolt comes out of the sky through the roof right next to Moana you see we're told in the description for Moana 2 that she is unexpectedly called by her wayfinding ancestors and I think this is the sign that she receives from her ancestors but what is this message to attempt to find answers she returns to the cavern of the wayfinders this is the massive Cavern where where Moana learned the truth about her ancestors this was the place where all of the different canoes and Boats were hidden away and stored oh by the way the art of Moana describes this Cavern as being a lava tube which means that this entire structure was created during the formation of montenui itself but what are the ancestors calling her to do well supposedly she is instructed to reconnect her people across the entire ocean and we're told that she's going to need to Journey to the far Seas into dangerous long lost Waters and I think this makes a lot of sense the original movie we were shown that moana's people had spread and had traveled all across the sea but because of the darkness that was spreading across the world they stopped navigating and what this seems to mean is that many different villages on many different Islands across the world all became isolated at the same time well Moana has now gained the confidence and the knowledge to be able to circumnavigate the sea she now has to put in the work to bring all of her people together but how do you raise the stakes from going to The Realm Of Monsters And fighting the goddess who created life across the planet well I think the true danger lies in where Moana is headed you see we were told in multiple deleted scenes from the original film about a dangerous place that exists Ed Far Beyond the Horizon it's the edge of nowhere after that there's nothing maybe there are still Mysteries that are left to be solved across the ocean there are still New Horizons for Moana and her people to cross now what's really funny is that Moana still has the same paddle that she used in her original Journey because it's the one that was signed by Maui but this time the boat that Moana is going to be on is a much larger canoe and this time she's even going to have a crew who are all described as unlikely seaf farers there seems to be a young girl a bulky middle-aged man and a very old man who seems to be very opposed to being on the sea I don't know why this group is the one that has to come together but presumably Moana needs them to go on her Adventure even though she will have the help of a demigod once again together they're going to have to face threats like the kakamura since she was resp responsible for destroying their ship and they're going to have to go against giant weird monster Islands but what I'm most excited about is see will want to come face to face with the whale shark now I'm someone who really loves the ocean I mean I grew up on Finding Nemo and going to SeaWorld but now today it's being able to go scuba diving and experience seeing so many underwater creatures it's so cool it's a completely different world and so seeing Moana getting to interact with a giant creature like a whale shark is exciting on its own but I do think that this creature is going to be extremely important for this story you see across the whale shark there are human tattoo designs which reminds me of the designs that existed across grandma tala's mantay and what this leads me to believe is that this creature is the representation of someone's soul and to be more specific I think it's actually one of moana's ancestors you see in another deleted scene from Moana Grandma tala talks about her husband moana's grandfather he was said to have loved the sea like Moana and died exploring and can you guess what his animal totem was it was a shark and since we've already seen that when tala passed away that she became a massive manay my assumption is that this massive whale shark is actually going to be moana's grandfather something also exciting to note is that this time Pua is going to be coming along for the adventure last time he was left in monoi since you know he was kind of scarred by his first experience with the water and he seems to still be scared that poor little pig he was so excited to travel the first time but now he's he's very hesitant to go back on the water and what makes matters worse for him is now Maui is referring to him as bacon so he really can't catch a break on these Adventures but hopefully he'll be able to make it make it through sorry Pua the journey probably won't be easy and there's a lot that we still don't know about it but I'm excited to see what's going to happen the stakes are set Moana has to go on a new adventure to serve her wayfinding ancestors she has a completely new crew supporting her on her way and now she has the support of her people as she pursues the call within her Wana has already saved her people and reconnected them to their navig ation pass but now she has the opportunity to discover something
