and two from cease check swing didn't go kemp goes after the first pitch skies one that's joey wendell and it falls who's covering third and nobody doesn't matter with two outs alba sanders trying to score and he's out and zunino put the tag on andrews they're reviewing it right now sean barber is looking directly at the plate and there's nothing obvious enough and so bob melvin comes out and now he's going to be ejected joyce the 2-0 pitch swung on and hit on the right side not hit hardly doors got it runs towards mccutchen couldn't get him at second and the throw to first is a little bit late they're going to save a couple of the baseline and mccutcheon is saying he was in the baseline but jose navas says he was out of the basement touch the grass and joe girardi comes running out to talk to navas the second base umpire a little north he's got a double play because he thinks that joyce was also out at first base he never touched the grass that's a terrible call and joe girardi is out talking with novice and he can't believe it he's trying to novice is trying to plead his case he's got no case he's got no it's a terrible call it's ridiculous scott berry came over to the mets dugout louis rojas wanted to ask something of him and uh oh that's that is an awful awful call oh it's terrible and seeing it again looks even worse and uh we'll see what they decide about the uh the sliders the entire ball inside the box against chris martin the 35 year old and martin delivers a pitch that is one ball two strikes the pitch swung on and popped in the air left side near the line ozuna getting under it he's gonna make the catch boom tagging he's coming home here's the throw and he is safe safe they say at home played boom somehow got his foot in under the tag of darnold and he didn't tag home plate i don't think alec baum hit the plate and they're gonna review this and this will not stand and the phillies will not have the lead his foot never got down on home plate as he slid to the fair side right in front of the plate the braves fans seeing it now they know that it's going to be overturned as you said barrett was in a really good place to make the call and i mean he's right over the top of that right-hand corner what you're talking about and now the call is he is safe they say he is safe and the phillies have the lead seven to six as the umpires do not overturn the call at home plate oh his chokes up a little bit on the bat he can do that and still hit it nine miles takes a pitch that looked pretty good but it was i'm sure this is easy compared to last year slow roller godley has only one play it's gonna deliver a run so diaz with an rbi and hang on a minute they're gonna they're gonna call him safe at first i didn't see why marty foster made that call at first base but he instructed diaz to stay put and now the umpires are gonna gather and let's see what they come up with [Applause] i mean you can't say godly got in his that's just looking for something that's not there there's there's no chance of him beating this out i it's he if anything diaz is in the grass now you do establish your own lane to run come on you can't make a call here in a second whoa wow now the pitch he swings and sends one high in the air fairly deep right center boy is this carrying on the track and it's dropped between ramirez and naylor a ball that should have been caught in the scores mary field ben and kendy to third and now being tagged out is ben and tendy as he went off the bag at second perez is at first and the royals base runners are like i don't know if they didn't see that now the umpires are gathering that ball had a lot more carry than you thought it would but it still should one two coming and the slider in there strike three [Applause] he made no effort to get out of the way it was a strike but he didn't move and mark don mattingly is going to come out and argue the call with the home plate on fire ron culpa the ball hit him and it was going to be a strike yep so michael conforto gets a game-winning rbi by sticking his elbow into the pitch from anthony bass and the match rally for two in the bottom of the net that only now can they fully celebrate as the umpires say that the game is over what a bizarre way to end the game that's just ridiculous i have never seen that the mets win their home opener on a bases loaded hit by pitch on a pitch that was in the strike zone that grazed the elbow protector of michael conforto who clearly stuck his elbow in the way jeff mcneal ties it with a home run leading off in the bottom of the ninth and conforto ends it with a bases loaded hit by pitch crazy absolutely crazy
