what's up YouTube this is cooking with Doug and I'm back again with my ninja foodie smart lid today for you guys we're going to make a Mississippi pot roast and believe it or not this is all we'll need to make this it's super easy guys so first off guys this is a pound and a half chuck roast um you could do up to three pounds or maybe four Max but three three pounds is a good good fit to put in your um your foodie or your instant pot whatever have you but this is a pound and a half this is more than enough for me I'm gonna make a dinner tonight and save the rest for some slides or so maybe maybe put on some burger buns for the Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday but anywho first thing I'm going to do is spray it with my Evo oil sprayer this is not necessary but I like to do it because I believe it makes my seasoning stick better so I'm gonna put this seasoning on the whole chuck roast and Link will be in the description this is my pink salt black pepper and garlic seasoning and don't be shy with the seasonings all right and I did the other side and before I forget to mention guys rule of thumb with chuck roast and your pressure cooker whatever pressure cooker you have um it's 20 minutes per pound right so this is a pound and a half so I'm gonna round it up to two pounds so I'm gonna do 40 minutes with a natural release so which would come out to about an hour all right right now though what we're going to do is sear both all sides well at least front and back um you can do all I would prefer you to do all sides you don't have to and then we'll get to pressure cooking so let's get started all right let's get it on I'm gonna put it to sear and saute right there and I'm gonna hit start [Music] and I'll let it wait for about five minutes to heat up so while this is heating up guys I want to throw this out here we're pressure cooking this guy so if your device does not pressure cook then the only option to in my eyes to make a chuck roast is to slow cook it and that will take about six to eight hours that's you can find a gazillion videos on YouTube how to slow cook a chuck roast or a Mississippi roast so definitely check that out we're pressure cooking is going to take us an hour and we're done so if you're out your device is not pressure cooked then this is not the video for you just watch and hit the like button all right we're just about at five minutes I'm gonna squirt some oil in there so it doesn't stick and I'm using my stainless steel insert guys link will be in the description and I used avocado oil but you can use olive oil too we're gonna do about four or five minutes on each side we are smelling good in here about four minutes have passed I'm gonna go ahead and give it a flip [Music] smelling mighty fine now you don't have to flip it again but I am just to show you [Music] now we're gonna add a cup and a half of water and you can go ahead and turn off your um one lid at this point I'm gonna add two beef bouillons to it if you have beef stock that would have been fine now I'm gonna add my azus gravy a juice how do you pronounce it and honestly guys I made this a million times if you have an onion packet you could use that too I mean it's not that serious but I mean this is the best to use but if you don't have it onion onion um onion soup packet would be fine and next up guys we are going to add some Hidden Valley Ranch I got spicy I've never had that before but regular is fine and what's cool about both of these packets whether it's the gravy or this you can buy them individually at your Supermarket or in a box let's go ahead and dump that right on top and this is everything I'm doing is be you know good for 1.5 pounds to three pounds say it would be the same method go ahead and add a half a stick of butter cut up and finally we're gonna add our pepperoncinis and honestly guys when I do this off camera I use banana peppers I prefer them than these pepper jeans but these are good too it's the same difference but you know the banana peppers are like kind of cut up into slices and I prefer that better but you know for this video I'm just gonna do the traditional way and also I'm gonna just pour some of that juice in there I love that juice all right so that's it I'm gonna close the lid all right go ahead and slide this to the left all right turn it on it's already on pressure cook we leave it on high I want to go 40 minutes like I said and we'll let it naturally release [Music] so to my new viewers and subscribers that are new to this machine right now it's preheating and it's getting the liquid up to pressure that usually takes I don't know about six to eight minutes depending on how much liquid you have in there so we'll we'll be back when it gets the pressure oh yeah make sure your valve is on seal all right guys as you can see we got up to pressure so I'll be back in about an hour because remember I'm doing 40 minutes and then I'm doing a natural release of 20 minutes so after the 40 minutes I'm not going to touch it I'm gonna let it sit sit and keep warm for 20 minutes and then I'll release the rest well I just might just let it just totally release by itself because remember we're shredding this so the easier it is to shred the better all right guys the 40 minutes has passed it's counting up to 20 minutes is doing the natural release right now so when it hits 20 I'll just release the rest and get the shredding with the uh chuck roast it's a nice day in Greensboro North Carolina I couldn't help it I whipped out my electric bike and did about 20 miles real quick so I'll be back definitely when it hits 20 we'll shred it up and continue with our meal and Link will be in the description guys I'm going to use this to take the grease out of the gravy after I shred it oh cool check it out at 15 minutes it's saying I can open the lid but I'm still gonna wait the full 20 minutes but you at home if you ever want to go ahead you can open it now if you like all right the 20 minutes is up this is what we're looking like guys it's looking good and trust me it's smelling good this could be you I'll leave the link in the description so this was a total of one hour a pound and a half and by the way guys if you're not subscribed to the channel go ahead and subscribe it's free I promise and be careful when you take it out guys because it's it's just falling apart it smells so good guys and when you're pressure cooking these Chuck roasts you don't need any special tools to shred plastic fork is good enough just comes right on off so good guys I cannot wait to have this I took a quick bite guys and I gotta be honest I'm mad I didn't get three pounds instead of a pound and a half this is some good eating right here man this is how I want to shred it up because you know in my sandwich I like big chunks and in my dinner tonight I want big chunks so I didn't like shred it fine but of course as always you do you showed it as however you like it and so that's what it looks like in there so right now I'm gonna separate the grease from the gravy this step you don't have to do you can skim it out with a spoon or you don't even have to do anything but I get inflammation real bad so I can't take all that grease you know with eating the um the roast so foreign so this is how it works guys you see on the top there see that ring that's all the bad Grease and below it straight gravy all right I'm gonna put the shredded roast back in and the pepperoncinis they just fall apart you could take like any utensil and just break them apart or you can keep them whole but when you eat them they're just going to melt right in your mouth all right so now I'm gonna get my grease separated and add as much grease as I want there's a little handle right here and I squeeze it in and it comes right on out yeah that's about enough gravy and the great thing with this I could throw out the rest of the gravy I can save it for another time whatever I want to do I can do it but this is enough for what I have you know I had to do something duck style I got some leftover red and white onions in my refrigerator that I want to get rid of why not dump it right in there and as a courtesy I'm gonna squirt two squirts of liquid smoke in there I'm gonna put it on serum saute on high let the onions cook down just a little bit let everything get familiar with each other again now of course guys you can have your roast with mashed potatoes some rice heck even some cornbread all of the above I'm gonna have mine with cabbage and some green beans now that's Doug style right there this could be you now we're about to go into overtime about to make my cabbage we're about to switch pots we're gonna put the ceramic pot in and put this to the side I put some bacon grease in there and the rest of the gravy from that little Gadget and I'll just let it cook down and we can be all set I'm ready guys paper towel time shout out to my viewers and subscribers that hit the like button way before my videos even finished I appreciate that you saw the paper towel go up that means it's time to eat and I am starving so guys I would consider this a low carb meal cabbage broccoli pot roast can't go wrong all this juicy gravy you first you got it oh I'm so good that's too good that's too good some broccoli um that's just too good I know I said I was going to have it with some green beans but I forgot that I had some broccoli now I prefer to have it with some broccoli to be honest let's get a big bite you got it um and guys this guilt-free eating right here and Mississippi roast is really good that ranch it gives it a nice nice taste you know as opposed to just regular pot roast it's good I'm not too much of a fan of ranch by the way guys I'm more of a blue cheese guy but I guess Mississippi Rose and wings is the only time I would have Ranch at all but like I said guys you can have this you know white rice mashed potatoes and gravy but you've seen that a million times we've not seen it this way um that's too good oh yeah some of y'all wanted a bite with a pepperoncini in there they're like dog what's up with the pepperoncinis I got you got it um man that hit the spot I am full that's for sure and tomorrow all my diabetics out there I drank half of my beer but the beer was only um this Michelob Ultra is only 2.5 grams of carbs if you didn't know which is fantastic but anywho you gotta try this easy recipe for you and your family it is just super good they're gonna just tear it up and it's super easy to make you saw it and I heard you try and get a three pound chuck roast because one point I mean if you're doing it for yourself a pound and a half is good because like I said I'm gonna make some sliders or maybe some just regular sandwiches um with it for a part of my Super Bowl you know uh plate food or whatever but if you're doing it for more than two people definitely get three pounds or even four and and the same recipe applies just one packet of ranch one packet of the gravy and you put some peppercinis in there some butter sear it on both sides with some salt pepper and garlic powder garlic powder is optional but do that anyway more flavor and then stick it in there 20 minutes per pound and then do a natural release of 20 minutes and you're done and we're eating make it with some rice some mashed potatoes and we're good to go so definitely try this out and I'll leave everything that I did in the description so you can follow along as well I'll leave in the description a link to everything that I've used accessories such as the stainless steel insert um the gravy separator and of course I'll leave a link to the ninja foodie one lid because it is a phenomenal versatile machine it could air fry it could pressure cook it can steam it could do it could do everything and it can cook for a large amount of people as well all under one leg so definitely click that link check it out I think it's something that you know if you like to you like to cook various different things different methods it doesn't get any better than this all right but that's all I got so hit like if you like it remember to subscribe if anything thanks for even looking at my video it's cooking with Doug and we are out
