their failure very origin story when all hope seemed lost they found Sanctuary the minions were safe the minions forged their own civilization they truly made a life for themselves but something just wasn't [Music] right but all was not lost lost for one minion had a plan his name was Kevin Kevin I wonder if would actual language like go back to the outside world and he would not return until he had found his tribe the biggest baddest villain to serve but he needed help com Bob was eager to go but Kevin thought he was just not strong enough for the dangerous journey [Applause] [Music] ahead I Kevin get yeah get rid of that [Music] [ __ ] one of the Beetles got take the s back stupid from here on out you are sir Kevin well done well done Kevin had never been more proud but something was missing yes good show good show the crown is gone now at least I have my way what oh it's mini [Music] grw yes I am the greatest super villain of all time oh were [Music] you boss come here come here look [Music] are you really going to allow that little penguin to make off with my crown for me bye-bye that's very nice of him that is how the minions found their new boss he was cunning he was evil he was perfect he was Despicable cute this was I think perfect child humor if I was a kid I'd probably love this movie even more than I do now but it was really cute it was really cute and I I thoroughly enjoyed it um I'm happy that it wasn't like more obnoxious I guess you know it like it rode that line perfectly of being something that I feel like both kids and grown-ups can enjoy I mean I have a it it easily accesses whatever my sense of humor is like there's something like Goofy and awkward and like borderline obnoxious and I just love all that one thing I love about the Despicable M movies in general is the devices that they make and it's such a nod to the writing team and whoever is doing the animating and I liked how they still kept that with the villain that we see here scarlet and I thought she was a great villain I love that she was a lover girl but just nuts yeah just absolutely nuts spoiled brat grownup who wants a crown and them making fun of the Brits the Brits do to us all the time it's fun when we can do it back yeah I mean it's all in good fun it's like there it's tongue and cheek yeah I mean the animation was on point even though it's a Kids film I think that the gadgets they presented were pretty cool even Gru's uh ship when he you know flies away at the end or the little gadgets that the Contraptions that they give them I thought all that stuff was super uh creative and fun totally you know uh the music choices they chose uh for you know setting the I guess the period all the rock music I thought they chose great songs you know some movies are 90 minutes and they feel like 2 hours or whatever it's like this is a nicely done animation where I knew from the word go I'm like okay this is not going to be a long ride this is going to be just like a nice tight 90 minutes you know it didn't overstate its welcome the bad guy was relentless but you know sometimes when that happens in movies it's exhausting and here I was like no this is cool like I I think this is well paced you know yeah yeah I cuz when we were about to start I was like how are you going to make a movie starring just the minions who don't speak a known language yeah and then I was like I wonder if they're going to do cuz Marcel the Shell with Shoes On was one of was my favorite movie of last year okay and that's about a shell right and so the right writer can make a story out of something that shouldn't really be a full story and I thought this was gratuitous and the fact that maybe it shouldn't have been a movie without this franchise but because we have the franchise they did a really good job making a story that I was invested in and it was F it was just the best thing about it was that it was really fun yeah no I think you're right I mean it's like how do you tell a compelling Journey for 90 minutes with characters that don't really speak a language that has any like consistency to it other than it's like a sound right I mean obviously there's some Spanish and English in there but for the most part it's just noises as far as I can tell they're Side characters they're just they're supposed to be the comic relief and we saw with Pirates of the Caribbean you know when you make the comic relief character the central focal point of the story it can ruin it you know Pirates 2 and three are not as good as pirates 1 in my opinion because of that here I was actually surprised because and now this might be Blasphemous to some of you but I actually enjoyed this more than I enjoyed Despicable Me amazing that's hilarious yeah there's something about it that's just like the minion characters are very very Charming yes they are yeah they really are yeah and they do a good job of differentiating them even though they all fall under this funny weird cute category M yeah but they all have different personalities no I agree 100% um I'm sure you guys would love to hear us talk about minions for 3 hours but uh banana banana we're going to conclude it here you guys thanks so much for hanging with us hopefully you enjoyed uh revisiting this film with us that's it for now I'm jabby K this is steps peace out
