and it looks really fun the cast is incredible and stacked as usual I feel like these movies these animated movies we've been watching it's like the casts are incredible you're on YouTube you will be I wouldn't even mind coming back here for a visit sometime yeah I can do that okay is that a little sequel beat oh the penguins are like yeah we love it we should tell them that the boat's out of gas nah just smile and wave boys I love a tight 130 movie feel like there might be an after credit scene on this type of movie wouldn't be surprised Han Zimmer we were just talking about Hans of course the man has rain just do everything him and John Williams oky day cool well DreamWorks they struck again they struck again they re I mean they just make so many good animation films Kung Fu Panda this how to drain your dragon and uh obviously Prince of Egypt I think what they do such a good job too besides coming up with just really interesting ideas they just make things so relatable and grounded even in things that are obviously like you know in fantasy and all but I mean they just make such endearing stories and characters you can find yourself just invested in and uh would you think of the film I thought it was so cute and fun I I really think that the soundtrack was amazing you can tell how great a movie is by its side characters and this movie is a definition of that all the side characters stole the show right we have like Sasha Baron Cohen just a a scene stealer the penguins are so good but even the chimpanzees were funny but I liked all the individual characters I thought Jada pinket Smith did such a great job of voice acting for Gloria oh my God I just realized Chris Rock and her are both in this oh yeah oh my God reference I just noticed that and I didn't even realize when I said that and I didn't even realize I want Chris Rock Marty to have a metaverse movie with Eddie Murphy's donkey I still need to watch Shrek I I haven't seen those that that to me is DreamWorks best animation movie wow i' and I feel like I've seen so many amazing ones so that's the best cuz I did see Puss and Boots the last wit have you seen that one yeah excellent amazing I loved it and again I don't have any back lore of Shrek or anything you didn't need it yeah and but that film is absolutely incredible it's so deep but you know just there were a lot of themes and things I found really just moving and interesting just in terms of like getting out of your comfort zone living living life to its fullest like if you feel like you're in a caged and trapped like you know take take that chance take that risk and go Live Your Dream whereas the other side you know when it comes to like Ben Stiller's character Alex you know like when you feel like the chips are down you know it's the people that you love and care about that can you know be uplifting to you and such dark in situations and negative situations so totally yeah I just I really really enjoy it the humor was so good but also too this film did a really good job of balancing between like really dark I mean you had moments of like the character wanting to eat his friends and obviously the Fooda wanted to eat the zebra too so it did a good job of Bal cuz obviously you know kids are going to watch this so just balancing between dark and the light-hearted moments and I just thought it did a good job balancing that out I really to loved uh the humor and this film like just little things like Alex is on the pay phone trying to call Animal Control to to get uh Marty and on their end they're hearing line Roars and like I just like little things like that I'm like cuz in my head I'm like are they going to hear line Roars cuz they can't hear English right now so just yeah this was really really well done um again just really good job too just making it feel grounded in terms of the situations that we can relate to as human beings yeah I completely agree there was a lot of good different themes and I think themes you can like pull out of it on what you're saying like the self-control like home is where your family is your family is your chosen people I love the idea of like a hippo and a lion and a zebra and a giraff can be the best homies even though realistically in the animal kingdom they are completely opposed of one another but it was also really refreshing to watch a movie under an hour and a half like we just really see it anymore and even with animated films they're all becoming 2 hours plus which some movies I think is great I actually think this movie could have been a little bit longer and stretched out some of those character arcs a little longer that's not necessarily A criticism I just that's how much I liked the characters that I could have lived with them longer but I appreciate the tightness of the film as a script yeah no in terms of pacing it was really uh really well paced out but I agree with you I would have loved to spend even more time with the character just because I was enjoying it so much let their arcs get even more fleshed out as well and again like you not a criticism just just enjoying it so much I was like I I want more but I guess we'll have to wait for the sequel if you guys want us to do that cuz I think there were three Madagascar if I remember correctly I know there was definitely two cuz that as I mentioned to you off camera before that second one has seared into my head in terms of the box cover because I worked at Hollywood Video back in the day and I saw hundreds of those and that it's like I said seared into my head as much as steak was seared into Alex's head poor guy the self-control yeah right I also thought this film did a good job too of again dealing with situations that are relatable that we deal with like when um just having Alex because like you mentioned during a reaction how pampered he was to this lifestyle and like everything is even though he's you know an Entertainer and he's doing his job like he gets free just Stakes are handed to him he's got this nice life and in the wild where I feel like a lot of animals and you know do belong and not in in zoos and stuff but that's another discussion he's not used to that he's used to the Pampered life so just like you know for a lot of us who are used to a Pampered lifestyle and then like when we go out into the wild if you will like you know just getting used to uncomfortable and tougher situations like there's an adjustment curve and I really like that about Alex that he was able to with again due to the help of having his friends and his family there if you will like was able to you know through perseverance you know right it nature verse nurture exactly a hell of a drug fun film though this was so fun so fun thanks to you guys for hanging out with us the voice cast was just incredible I love the score too Han Zimmer go that guy never misses John Williams and him goats and Danny Elman yes uh make sure you
